What's up, guys? Welcome to another episode of Committed Technically. In this week's episode, well, you know, she's a little different. Our favorite lavender husband is out popping his boy pussy in Las Vegas right now. He actually just texted me and he said that he's lost$100, which is not out of the normal for him at a casino. And he was on his way to the liquor store. So you already know he's about to pop open a crispy modello and enjoy his time there. So you guys are just stuck with me. And I'm kind of excited because I have full creative control of this week's episode. So of course, what's that mean? That means that one, you're just stuck with me. And two, uh, we're gonna talk about some nerdy shit and taking gorilla position. Just remember, Brandon is here in spirit. He does say hi. And let's just start to chat and yap about it, shall we? Lego. Okay, committed gang. Let's hit the ropes and talk about a topic that I'm sure maybe some of you might know about, but a lot of you probably don't. But don't worry. You know I got you guys. Today we're gonna talk about all things pro wrestling, but and specifically something that happened last weekend over a weekend span actually in Las Vegas called WrestleMania 42. So here's the thing. I bet a lot of people who do watch pro wrestling, or at least get the gist of it, might know what WrestleMania is. But to the ones who don't, WrestleMania is the biggest event in pro wrestling entertainment of the year. It's literally like the Super Bowl. That's how I always explain it. When someone's like, what the fuck is that? I'm like, guys, it's Super Bowl, but for like obviously pro wrestling. Um, so I kind of did like a little bit of background just to kind of help out, kind of ease into it. So bear with me for a little bit. Um, so again, the Super Bowl pro wrestling, it's a massive cultural crossover uh that kind of has redefined the meaning of a global entertainment powerhouse. So it all started back in the 1980s. Pro wrestling was uh split across the United States into different regions and territories. There were people who had their little wrestling companies and again into regions. So people never crossed over. It was like a gentleman's agreement of don't come get my wrestlers, don't come into my territory, this is my promotion, and you stay in your area. Okay, it was like that for a very long time. It wasn't until Vince McMahon Sr. Um and the WWF, which is now the WWE, well, of course, he wanted it all. And he said, I don't give a fuck a shit or a damn. And so he had his wrestling promotion, then his son took over, and he was like the extra push to get rid of those territories, to take those wrestlers and make a global phenomenon of what we know now today. So if you put it all on the line for WrestleMania 1, it was at Madison Square Garden in 1985. If it was a fail, the company would have been bankrupt. And if it succeeded, it would have started the mainstream of pro wrestling, which of course, spoiler, it was very, very successful. WrestleMania 1 blended sports entertainment in pop culture because they had stars like Muhammad Ali, Cindy Loffer, and Mr. T all make appearances and kind of appeal to pop culture in the mainstream audience, people who maybe didn't know what pro wrestling was, or they were like, uh, that's kind of dumb. I'm not gonna watch that, right? Um, it kind of helped draw in those people and be like, oh, well, this kind of is entertaining. Oh, it might be a storyline, but it's a fun storyline, and it's totally different than what you were seeing on TV. So it was a nice cross between that and of course your die hard fans that were just there because they love the sport, right? Okay, so that's kind of the origin and the background of WrestleMania. And so when it comes to WrestleMania, labeling WrestleMania as a Super Bowl pro wrestling isn't just me saying it, it's not just marketing from their side of things, it is how a two-day event actually functions. So you break it down into three sections. There is the seasonal climax. So if you think of like the NFL, we have our sport fans out there, they love football, right? Football, basketball, any of your mainstream sports, they all have a seasonal climax. For the NFL, obviously, your seasonal climax is getting to February for that Super Bowl, right? So from August to December, you have your NFL season flow. Then you have your playoffs from December to January, your Super Bowl in February. Well, wrestling kind of does the same thing. They have SummerSlam and through Survivor Series, so it's kind of like through the summer into November, and then you have the Royal Rumble, which is a January event. Elimination Chamber is a February event. So you have SummerSlam Survivor Series, right? That's your your main flow. Royal Rumble Elimination Chamber, that's your playoffs. Then, of course, you have your WrestleMania and that's your Super Bowl. It's all build-up and it's a whole background scheme. If you actually get on Netflix and you want to watch a little something that's more in debt or something that would kind of give more of a clarity to kind of what I'm saying, there is a behind the scenes um WWE documentary that you can watch, and it's fabulous. Every time they bring on new episodes or a new season, I am the first one sitting down to watch what actually goes on behind the scenes because I think it's fun. Uh there's obviously the economic impact. It's a week-long festivity with charities, meet and greets, fan duels, and it's kind of like Comic-Con, if we're being honest, for pro wrestling. The style of the event leading up to WrestleMania Night One, Night Two is approximately$150 to$200 million in local economic impact. So with it being in Las Vegas, it was in Las Vegas last year, too. So between last year and this year, you can try to project about a$400 million revenue that Pro Wrestling brought to the city of Las Vegas. Insane. Lastly, there is the production scale. Back in the day, WrestleMania would sell out arenas, but now, as the demand has grown, the fans have grown, what we want has kind of almost concaved the arena. We needed more space. WrestleMania now sells out NFL arenas every year. With obviously, this year was at Allegiance Stadium where uh the Las Vegas Raiders are. So um boo. Sorry about it. Sorry, not sorry. I'm a Chiefs fan. So with the amount of pyrotectics, the stage design, and the big moments, WrestleMania is the most visually spectacular production in all of sports entertainment. Come for me. Really, honestly, you can come for me. Um because it goes on every single year. Because with the Super Bowl, you know, halftime shows, whatever, you have those hit, miss. Um, we loved Bad Bunny this year, as a side note, um, that was production quality. But um there have been years where we're like, what the fuck was that? It's never like that with WrestleMania. They don't miss with that. And at the end of the day, you don't have to think, oh, well, is is buying the package gonna be a bad deal or is buying the ticket gonna be a bad deal? It's never a bad deal because again, it is the most visually spectacular production you will ever witness in your entire life. And that's not a prediction, that's a spoiler. Okay, let's get into it. Let's get into it. WrestleMania 42 night one. Night one was on Saturday, uh, April 18th. It was a pretty loaded card, um, in my opinion. I'll try to give a little background, I'll try to do what I can do. Am I professional at this? Hell no. Hell no. I'm just nerdy and I like to talk about this shit. I talk about this with my friends who actually watch it. My boyfriend um watches it with me, and so it's easy to talk with people like that versus like, oh, I need to probably explain a little bit more. So, again, just indulge me with this episode, shall we? Thank you. There was a big championship match that night. It was for the Undisputed WWE Championship. There are two championships that are pretty elite in the male division of this entertainment company, Undisputed and Heavyweight. Okay. Um, Undisputed is held by Cody Rhodes, background Cody Rhodes. He is a generational wrestler. His dad was the American Dream Dusty Rhodes, who um unfortunately passed away uh a couple years ago, probably more than a couple years ago now. Um, he was a trailblazer for the wrestling entertainment industry to be just in general. Um, and so we'd love to see his kind of kid grow up to be this big wrestler just like his daddy was. Um, and then there's Randy, Randy Orton, who he was facing that night. Also a generational wrestler. His dad was cowboy Bob Orton, um, another Trailblazer, another, another great wrestler for his time. Um and so you had like those like golden boys, okay? Randy's been around a lot longer than Cody, he's a little older than Cody. If he would have won, spoiler, he did not win. Cody retained his championship that night. Um, it would have been his 15th championship title. And so I know a lot of people were rooting for that. I personally was rooting for that because I I I've had some trauma uh within the past couple of oh, I don't know, year or two with some of my favorite wrestlers. I used to watch growing up retire finally. You never think it's gonna happen, and then it does, and then it breaks your heart. Um, that's one thing I was like, well, I feel like Randy might be on his way out. He's had some pretty big injuries the past couple years with back injuries, neck injuries, all the all the the big ones, right? And um, I was afraid that maybe this might be his last one. So I was like, yeah, let's just give it to him. I didn't there I know he's kind of the bad guy. There's I guess how you can kind of label it is when I say babyface, baby face is is good, heel is is bad. Well, Randy is a heel. And so a lot of people obviously don't ever want the heel to win the championship, but you know, it's Randy Orton. So um now with this match, I probably rated this match a B plus just because it was a little slower in the beginning. I couldn't tell if Randy's old injuries were actually playing a realistic role in this or if it was all scripted to look like this. Um, but it was just a slower match in the beginning. Uh Randy did favor that lower back injury I just mentioned that he had um a couple years ago. And so eh, wasn't my it wasn't my favorite match in the night. We'll just say that. Um now Pat McAfee. I don't know if you guys know who Pat McAfee is. He was a pro football guy. Um, he has his own podcast. He's he's pretty successful for himself. Um WWE used him as commentary for a while. He goes back and forth. Well, they brought him in to, I don't know, spice up. It's kind of like when I mentioned with WrestleMania 1. Where they brought in Muhammad Ali, they brought in, you know, Cindy Loffer, Mr. T. They still do that, they still let these celebrities come in and and be a part of WrestleMania. Um, so I feel like it was kind of like that because Jelly Roll, you know, country singer Jelly Roll is also a big pro wrestling fan. He was involved in that match to get rid of Pat McAvee. It was a whole storyline. And and I don't know, call me, call me bitter. I don't know, call me bitter. Um, sometimes when celebrities get involved in these types of matches or these promos, it kind of cuts me off. Um, it kind of defers me from how I feel about it. Um, because I feel like it's it's not needed. I feel like the storyline itself is fine without the extra additive levels or or um add-ins from these celebrities. So I think getting rid of Pat McAfee and Jilly Roll early on in the match was the best move because I hate seeing celebrities get involved. I hate seeing celebrities get in the ring sometimes. It's just you really have to, I really, really, really have to be invested. And I was not invested in this storyline with Pat McAfee and Jilly Roll. My opinion, you know, but hey, if you like it, I love it, whatever. Um but again, I feel like just in the beginning, it was it was slow. Um, the more it went on and the more it came, especially um as things kind of progressed on, the back issue, if it was real, if it was not, whatever, kind of subsided. We got more of an aggressive match. We had an eye poke, um, which actually left Cody Rhodes' eye. It was Randy who poked Cody. Um was insane. Also, Cody with the low blow and the eye poke to Rhodes. It was like a, oh, you gotta you're gonna do that to me. Well, guess what? I'm gonna do it back to you, but like worse. And he did. Um, which is obviously not so babyface. So I almost thought that that was gonna kind of be like the heel turn that people were kind of looking for. Well, is Cody gonna go heel and Randy go back to babyface? So maybe Randy can win the championship. Hell, I don't know. Um, it was definitely it was. I mean, like I said, it was a good match. My favorite, no, right, B. Randy Orton used to do something called the punt, and it literally is like a football punt to the head. He hasn't done it in years. There's this thing called concussion protocol, it's the same like with any other sports entertainment industry. You have these different protocols that you have to follow by. Well, that move was one that I think they said, I don't think you should be doing that anymore, just because you know, if something does happen, then it it's it's bad for the recipient of the punt. Well, he punted Cody Rhodes in the head, and I thought that was very 2009 Randy Orton, very heel Randy Orton, very much the Randy Wharton I grew up watching. Um, so honorable mention, I think that did raise the score for me with the match personally, just because of nostalgia. But, anyways, I digress. Let's move on. Obviously, the male big match of the night was that. Now, the women's big match of the night was the women's match. Again, same with the men's division. They have the undisputed WWE and the heavyweight women's have the world champion and the WWE champion. Well, tonight was a world champion with La Primera Stephanie Valkyrie versus Liv Morgan. Okay, I'm gonna say it and it might be kind of a hot take for some people. I cannot stand the judgment day. If you don't know what the judgment day is, it's the um group of kids in high school that really thought that they were the shit, and they really weren't, and they were like the most annoying group, but no one ever really had the heart to tell them that, or people would tell them that, and then it would just like boost up their ego. That's what judgment day is. Okay, this group has needed to be broken up, in my opinion, for about two years now. Okay, it's flipped members so many times. I can't, it's just one of those fillers I think in it's one of those fillers, I think, in Monday Night Raw that just needs to die out. And I'm so ready for the day that that happens. Um, but Liv Morgan is the main gal in judgment day. And I don't know, I don't know. She ended up winning that match. So Stephanie Valkyrie was the champion, Liv Morgan became champion, hated it. Um yeah, I hated this outcome. I made notes. Hated, I unlined, hated, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hated this outcome. Um, although everyone could see it coming from a mile away. I could see this switchover, I could see this happening. I don't know, I call it intuition, call it I've watched this since I was a fucking kid, so I know how these storylines go. I don't know, but I hated that that that I was right. Um Judgment Day interfering Judgment Day interfering is old. Obviously, there's multiple members on Judgment Day. There's um obviously Liv Morgan, uh Roxanne Perez, and uh Big Sexy. I call her Big Sexy, I think she called herself Big Sexy. Um and I get tired of the interfering, I get tired of like just like let the match go. You know what I mean? I've watched this for so many years now. Judgment Day, always getting involved. And at first it was fun because it was new and it was fresh and it was hilly. Now it's just I'm over it. If I could have fast forward the match to see just the ending, I would have. Um that's all shade to Judgment Day, no shade to Stephanie Valkyrie. I think she's a fantastic wrestler. Um and I love watch I love to watch her stuff, just not necessarily with Liv Morgan and Judgment Day. I say what I say. The match itself, though, another thing that kind of pissed me off is the match itself lasted less than seven minutes. Okay, some of these entrances to WrestleMania were longer than seven minutes. So I I think as a woman that pissed me off because it almost felt like we were backtracking to like 2007 where women got maybe a three-minute match and it was like good, and that like that's all they got. It was giving that like it was supposed like it was more of a a filler roll. Yeah, and that was not my favorite. Um so less than seven minutes, that fucking sucked. Um, and there was really nothing too exciting about the match. I feel like this match could have been done on uh Monday Night Raw or Friday Night Smackdown. I hate to say that. I really do. I really wanted this to be more than what it was, it just wasn't. I think the best part of the match was when um Morgan did a sunset flip power bomb. At best, this match was a C. Sorry about it. Next up is the visionary versus the career killer. Again, I don't know, guys. I might just be a fucking hater. I'm a hater for some of these wrestlers. Um, I don't like Gunther. It's just Seth Rollins versus Gunther. Um, they put Gunther in this role of retiring legends. Uh he retired so many people this past year. Biggest ones being obviously Goldberg, John Cena, AJ Styles. I I don't know if I just don't like him as like obviously I don't know him as the person. I know him as the person he portrays on television. I don't know if I just don't like that, or if I just don't like how technical of a wrestler he is, where it's nothing too exciting to watch. Um, I think he's a great matte wrestler. I think he's a great great technical wrestler. I'm personally more into like lushor style wrestling. I like high, fast-paced entertainment type shit. Um, that's not uh that's not something I see from him ever. I think he's slow, I think that he gets like winded too fast. I feel like he's just not he's just not my cup of tea, guys. And I hate that they put him in this role because I feel like Goldberg, John, AJ all could have been retired by someone else and made more of a match than what Gulenther could have given any of those three guys. So now that that rant is done, I'm so sorry. Again, I'm just a hater. Um but straight up, um, this was one of the better matches of the night, to be honest. So um, I don't want to talk all that shit, but I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that Seth Rollins is a fantabulous wrestler. Um, he's really good at what he does, he knows how to sell a match like no one I've I've seen in recent years. Um, so again, I think it was one of the best matches of night one between it was more faster paced because of Rollins, which I liked. But then you also got that mechanic style of wrestling from Gunther. It was really well balanced. Uh Braun Breaker made a comeback that kind of shocked me. Maybe it shouldn't have, maybe I should have seen that coming. But I swear to God, he was supposed to be out for a while. Braun Breaker is another generational wrestler. Um, he's from Um, the Steiner family, um, big juice meatheads, really. I mean, I don't know how else to explain these guys. Um But he was out with an injury, and I just didn't think he was supposed to come back so fast. Apparently he did. He rehabbed quicker than I thought he was going to, and he he can spear someone at 22 miles per hour. Just let that sink in. Like, that's insane. And like with the momentum coming down the ramp, I can't even imagine how fast he hit um Seth Rollins in the abdominal. So um, him coming back was a shocker for me. Um, again, some might say differently, but it makes sense that he did attack Rollins. I'm kind of curious to see how all of that plays out in the next couple of months and kind of see how things set up for SummerSlam. Like I said, it's all on a at like a seasonal rotation. So I know like right now we have the NFL draft going on. That's kind of where we're at with the pro wrestling. We're kind of looking at, okay, well, who can we switch from SmackDown to Raw? Who can we bring up from NXT, etc., etc.? We're in that transition right now to set up for your flow of the season starting at SummerSlam. So um I hate to say it, but I really would give this match an A. And I hate to say that only because of Gunther. And Gunther ended up winning this match too, which of course I hated. So again, what am I? A hater. Next up was the women's intercontinental championship match. Now, this championship belt is still fairly new. The women have never had this championship built up until shit. It had to be in the latter part of last year, it was brought on. I thought that was like the coolest thing ever. Because again, the women have always kind of been shined over, um, looked over, not really acknowledged, obviously, to the stature of men in pro wrestling. It's a male-dominated industry. That makes sense. I get that, but I swear to God, sometimes these women can out wrestle these men. And it's so fucking fun to see when people get more involved in the women's matches than they do the men. This one again, I'm not wasn't too excited for it. I don't know what it is. Um, AJ Lee was a wrestler. Um, back in that time, I was talking about going into the 2010s, where women's wrestling was just like not that big selling point. It it would they were looked at as looked at more as like eye candy versus professional athletes, and she kind of helped change that and evolve that into what it is today. So she's a trailblazer. Guess what? So is Becky Lynch. That's who she was facing that night. Um, AJ held the title, lost the title to Becky. Unfortunately, I could see this as another predictable match, in my opinion, just because I don't think AJ Lee was meant to come back long term. So she left the company oh 2016, 17, and hasn't been back since. She came back again in the latter part of last year. Um, she's married to one of the guys who was on the main card for night two. And I just don't I don't remember hearing that she signed long term, I think it was short term. And so when she won the championship at Elimination Chamber, I said, Oh, well, she's gonna lose it at WrestleMania. Because if she kept the championship, then it would have just had to prolong and prolong and prolong. And I just don't think that she signed a long-term contract because she has her own stuff, like she's an author and she does production and in movies and television and stuff like that too. So unfortunately, I could see that happening. Um, the match was decent, it was enough, and it felt appropriate for what it should have been. It was placed in the middle of the night. Um unfortunately, I felt like it gave more than what the main women's card of Stephanie Valkyrie and Liv Morgan gave, and that sucked. I think that's what I hated about the match, and it has nothing to do with the match itself. It was that you could have switched them and it wouldn't have made for a better rating of the night, in my opinion. Um if I had to go back and look at all the AJ Lee versus Becky Lynch matches, I say I would prefer the Elimination Chamber match versus the WrestleMania Night 1 match. And I also think the best part of the match itself was not even anything to do with the wrestling. It was the referee that they brought in because there's been some beef with her and Becky Lynch, which added that extra layer of entertainment, that extra oomph that I think the match really needed to succeed at WrestleMania. Um this match B minus. Next up was something called a Fatal Four World and it was for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship. So Fatal Fourway is just four teams battling it out for the championship. Okay, anyone can get pinned and anyone can be disqualified, but if you're disqualified, obviously the championships remain with the people that brought them in. It was Nia Jax, Lash Legend, Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, Bailey, Lyra, and then the Bella twins. Again, I'm a hater. I hate that the Bella twins are back. I thought they were shit the first time. Um, I think they're shit now, and I said what I said. So piggyback and all that, it was a solid, fatal four way. But of course, I think the shine came from a certain return of a former uh female wrestler. So again, I'm a hater. I don't like the Bella twins. One of the Bella twins, Nikki, was out with injury, and it was kind of talked about well, is she gonna be released just in time to compete, or is she gonna have to sit out and that obviously affects the whole match? So she was not released by doctors, she came out in a boot, and then they said, Well, we called up a we called up a friend. Only problem with this is that I already knew who was coming out because when things aren't sealed shut behind the scenes, there are so many wrestling outlets that report on breaking news, and one of them did say that Paige was it's her wrestling name, um, was signed that morning to come back to WWE. So I was like, oh, it's Paige, and then her music hit, and I was like, Oh yeah. Um, she was another uh kind of trailblazer. She actually had a movie made about her. The rock made a movie about her life story. Um and I don't know, I dig her vibe, but then again, I'm a little dark and edgy myself. So um it was kind of cool to see her come back. She's been gone for a while, about eight years. She I honestly she looks like she hasn't missed a step. I don't know if she's been in a ring anytime recently. Um, but she had got some great pops from the crowd, people who are loving it. I do fear that this is another AJ Lee situation. My prediction, um, that she'll end up having a feud with Nikki Bella once she's released from medical. Because it's Paige and her sister Brie. They actually end up winning the championships. They took them from Nya Jax and Last Legend. Um, I have a feeling that it will turn into a feud with Nikki because Nikki will then get jealous of the bond that Paige and her sister have, right? That will be a feud. They'll lose the championships and then she'll be gone just like AJ Lee. Again, that's just my prediction. Is it a spoiler? It might be. This match I rate meh a B. Next up, we had an unsanctioned match. This is with Jacob Fatou and Drew McIntyre. From a business standpoint, this was a brilliant thing to put on ESPN too. Now, a lot of these I still call them pay-per-views. That's what it obviously they were growing up. A lot of these pay-per-views are on ESPN unlimited, which is like the extra package that you have to buy if you were to buy ESPN Plus. So I always joke around when people talk to me about wrestling, and I'm like, yeah, I buy ESPN Plus plus plus plus plus plus plus because that's literally what it is. Um, this match was actually on ESPN too, so you didn't have to have the unlimited package, um, which was kind of nice because both these guys are stupidly athletic. They're fabulous in-ring performers. And for a match with no titles, it was exactly what WrestleMania uh night one really needed to hook people in. I personally give this match an A with the win going to Jacob Fot 2. That guy's a fucking beast. They call him the werewolf. He literally looks like a werewolf. He's a part of a wrestling dynasty himself. Um yeah, overall, a match. Loved it. And then to round out night one, there was a six-man tag match. It was Logan Paul, Austin Theory, I show speed. Again, we kind of talked about do I like celebrities that come in on these matches? Not really. But this one I kind of tolerated. Um, so again, Logan, Austin, I show speed versus the Usos and LA Knight. With the Usos and LA Knight taking the W. Again, this was another pretty predictable match. It was fun, it was entertaining. I show speeds, frog splash from the top of the turnbuckle to the ring commentator's desk was a huge pop. It was the biggest part of that match, in my opinion. Um, even better that it was done on Logan Paul. I think I, again, I've said it, I don't know, 10 times now. I am a hater. And I am a hater of Logan Paul. Um, and I think it's like the the Paul brothers in general. Uh, it is what it is. Predictable match, but it was entertaining. Ice Show Speed was phenomenal. He did some really great training to get ready for this match. Um, overall, B. And I think that kind of rounds out night one of WrestleMania 42. We will jump right in and hit the turnbuckle for night two. All right, so night two of WrestleMania 42. Um, again, I'm just gonna start off big with the world heavyweight championship matchup between CM Punk and Roman Reigns. I am a huge fan of CM Punk. I've been a fan of that guy for years since he debuted in 2006. EC Dub. He was the EC Dub guy, uh, came from Ring of Honor Underground um wrestling company. Roman Reigns, another dynasty wrestler, comes from the Huge family. He's actually related to The Rock. I know if you don't watch pro wrestling, you know who Dwayne The Rock Johnson is, though, right? Yeah, that's his cousin. So, CM Punk was the champion. He lost it that night to Roman Reigns. Um, either man winning would have kept the main event extremely healthy. It was a 34-minute match of action. This was overall perfectly executed, in my opinion, uh, with some highlights being Punk's big elbow through the announcers table and Reigns winning the belt. What would I have loved to see, I guess, in the future is gonna be Oba Femi versus the OTC Roman Reigns at SummerSlam. That would be how I feel they should set things up, maybe. If not SummerSlam, then definitely Survivor Series. I'm kind of giving Oba this big push into championship territory. I think he deserves it. We'll actually talk about him later on um because he had a match for night two. Great guy. I can't wait to see where that happens. I was definitely sad Campunk lost it. Um, but again, I kind of feel like it was a little predictable. I wanted it to not be true, but you know, sometimes, like I said, I can be a hater. And Roman Reigns overall is really liked. I do enjoy him besides his teeth. I feel like whoever did his teeth really fucked up. So, no committed gang. If you're gonna go get veneers, don't get white. Get like off-white, you know, cream. Don't do the full white baby, because then you're gonna glow in the dark like this man. I swear to god, he got them type of teeth. Overall, I do think this match was an A. It was the perfect way to end out uh night two of WrestleMania, in my opinion. Moving on to the WWE Women's Championship match, Jade Cargill versus Rhea Bloody Ripley. I love Rhea. Jade is mid as fuck, in my opinion. I think she was a really shitty champion. She never defended, she basically just held the belt and looked pretty. Um, it's been time. It's been overdue uh for her to lose this championship. And so I'm glad that Rhea scooped that up. Hate that she's on SmackDown now versus Raw, but you know, to each their own. Like I said, this match needed to happen. And unfortunately for Jade, this was Jade's best match. This was the best that she's looked in the ring in so long. That's a good and a bad thing. Uh, it shouldn't have taken her this long to put on an above-average performance. And maybe that was who she was facing the ring, because Rhea can bring that out in people. Um, but Rhea definitely brought a much-needed facelift to this match. She'll bring it to Friday Night Smackdown and kind of help push and evolve that woman's division on that show. Overall, a minus for my opinion. Next up, I had Finn Balor versus Dirty Dom Mysterio. Now, really, it wasn't Finn Balor, it was the demon, an alter ego, you could say, to Finn Balor. I've been waiting for the demon to come back. I've been waiting for this to happen. Um, I'm glad that Finn Balor has gotten away from that Judgment Day bullshit. I am a fan of Dom Dirty Dom. Jim hates that shit. He hates Dominic Mysterio. Um, but he's a hater for that reason. Because he loves his dad. He loves Ray. Uh overall, I think this match was a B. A hot take. Judgment Day, again, needs to be broken. I'm so glad that the writers decided to one, like I said, pull Finn Balor uh from Judgment Day and bring back the demon and make this actually, it was a street fight. It wasn't just like a ding-ding-ding pinpaw submission clean cut match. It was a street fight. It had weapons, it had chairs, tables, you know, kendo sticks, all the fun things that was kind of needed. Overall, I think both men really sold this match. Um, I think you can say what you want about Dominic Mysterio. I think he's a good seller. Um, I think he sells whoever he's in the ring with pretty well, and he's been getting really good at that over time. The Coupe de Grace from uh Finn Balor as his finisher through the table. That was fucking iconic. Dom took that like a fucking champion. I would probably be dying wheezing, sending me to the hospital if that happened to me. Um, so again, overall B plus match. That was a great, a great match to have um for the level of the card it was placed in. Next was the US Championship match between Sammy Zayn and Trick Williams. With the insane growth from Trick, it's really no surprise that he ended up taking the title from Sami Zayn. I personally, honestly, again, am I a hater. Say it with me. I personally could have cared less for little Yachty's involvement, per usual. Um, it's similar to Valkyrie versus Morgan. This match was just a little over actually seven minutes. So it was actually like a smidgen longer than this, um, than Morgan and Valkyrie's match, uh, making it pretty meh and definitely a middle card worthy. It wasn't too crazy for me. Didn't really give a shit about it. I was literally documentating, you know, both nights because I knew I was gonna do this episode for you guys. Um, and this was one I was when I was writing shit down, I said, you know what I mean? I really could skip this match and be fine with it, you know. Um, so that's kind of how I felt about it. Overall, I think they both could have gave a little more. I really hope to see a rematch um with more oomph um between Sammy and Trick. But also I hope Trick gets to keep this title for a little bit. Um, I think he deserves this push, and I think he's off to do good things. Overall, this match, C. Now, this match, this was a match I was looking forward to. Um, and it had me in tears by the end of it. Call me a baby, call me whatever. Um, it was Obafemi versus Brock Lesnar. Everything it needed it to be, I swear to God. This match, again, was also great marketing. It was put on ESPN um as a pre-launch to the start of WrestleMania. So again, it was able to hook in those people who, you know, just like flipping channels and watching ESPN or ESPN 2, and they come across this and they get to see everyone knows who Brock Lesnar is. You know, rather it's WWE, rather it's, you know, UFC, you know who this guy is. And then he's facing this really big intimidating man. And it kind of hooks you in. Again, that was great marketing from WE's point. It was everything it needed to be. It was quick, it was hard-hitting, it was storytelling, and it was the passing of the monster torch because after the match, Lesnar left his boots and gloves in the ring, sealing a 25-year career. So recently this happened, this has happened. Oh god. I mean, it happened with The Undertaker, it's happened with John and AJ and Goldberg. I mean, people who retire and they're actually a hundred percent done. No, you know, no mass, no more. They'll take off their shoes, they'll take off their if they wear gloves, they'll take their gloves off, they'll take off the things that they would need to compete in a match, and they'll leave them in the ring and they'll walk away. Basically symbolizing the end of their wrestling career. Um, well, he did that, and that left, I think, everyone shocked. Um, Lester's come and gone for years now. I know that he's had some legal issues with the whole Vince McMahon thing. Um, I don't know if maybe that had to play into it as well. I don't know if he was just officially done. On the rumor mill, I hear that they wanted Gunther to retire him, and he said, fuck that, which I would 100% agree because there's how the hell does a man like Gunther retire Brock Lesnar? That makes no fucking sense. Um, don't know. Again, that's hearsay, that's all speculation. Um, so he kind of went out on his own terms again. Did I cry? Of course I cried. Is it officially the end? I never know. I really never know with pro wrestling. I want to say it is if he took his boots and his gloves off. Um Heyman, Paul Heyman, I call him the penguin because I to me he looks like the penguin from the what was it, 1989 version of Batman. Um so Heyman owes a favor to Gunther. I don't know if this was the favor. I don't know if they'll spin it like that. I don't know. I really don't. I want to say um, though, that Brock is officially done. And he went out the way that Brock wanted to go out, which I kudos, and I love that for him. This was an A, an AA plus match, in my opinion. Another one, an Intercontinental Championship ladder match for the men. It was Penta versus Javon Evans, Dragon Lee, JD Madonna, Rosev, and Rey Mysterio. This was hands down the best match of night two. Honestly, it probably was the best match of night two and night one, in my opinion. I love a ladder match. Half of these guys are luchadors, they move fast, they know how to work the ring. Um, Javon Evans, he's so fucking young and he is bouncy. That is a hundred percent true. Um, so he can move and groove with some of these guys. It's insane. JD McDonham takes hits like I've never seen people take hits in a long time. He's such a good sport with it. Um, Russa brought some powerhouse to it that I think it needed because a lot of these guys are pretty small. Um, Ray is very Mysterio. You can't deny. I'm surprised he's still wrestling. I heard again on the rumor mill this might be his last year. So I was just happy to see him in a WrestleMania match if it was officially his last time, which kind of made me emotional yet again. But I'm a crybaby, so you know, two each their own with that one. Again, hands down, best match. Uh marketing standpoint, just like with Lesnar and Femi, this was on ESPN. Um, a great way to hook in people, to have people maybe, you know, hey, for the one time, let's just purchase the$39.98, you know, upgrade for the ESPN Unlimited, just to see what else this match has to offer and to see what else this night has to offer. Great marketing strategies. Um between Pentas, Mexican destroyer on JD Madonna on top of a fucking ladder. That was crazy. To Javon Evans, OG Cutter, Midair Tarusa. Those two, if you were if you want to go back and you want to go on YouTube or you want to whatever, and watch this match. If you do not like pro wrestling or you are iffy about it, I highly suggest you go and look up this match. Again, Intercontinental Championship Lada match, WrestleMania 42. Penta, Javon Evans, Dragon Lee, JD Madonna, Rusev, Rey Mysterio. This is why I love pro wrestling. This was the best way I could explain what euphoria and nostalgia feel like to me when I watch pro wrestling. This is what I like every single time. Now, honorable mention, of course, I have to say, and it's not even from the wrestling part of it, it's from the entrance part. Honorable mention is when Rey Mysterio did his OG pop-up entrance. Again, I watched this with my boyfriend, and he's a huge fan of Rey Mysterio. They're both from San Diego. He had the masks. He was, I mean, he was invested. He is still an OG Rey Mysterio fan. Um, he was screaming, crying, throwing up, I swear to God. Um, he always calls him his dad. He goes, My dad still got it. So that was really fun to see. Um overall, this match, best match of the night. Again, A. I can't, I cannot critique it anymore. Um, there's really nothing to critique at all. All right, gang. Now we're gonna wrap up one hell of a weekend in Sin City. There was so much to cover from Reigns versus Punk, Lesnar's retirement, Rose surviving the Viper, Randy Orton, mommy, Ria, Bloody Ripley coming back up on top, and Trick Williams, Oba, Femi, and Penta proving that the future isn't coming, but that it's already here. And that our little side quests, like Bianca's pregnancy announcement, she came out. I did not mention that, uh, but she came out and announced that she was pregnant, uh, which I kind of figure she's been out on injury for a while. I know her and her husband, who's another, who's also a wrestler in WWE. They've been trying for kids for a couple years now. I'm glad that she finally got her moment. She's finally pregnant and they get to build their family. Super excited for them. Uh, John Cena ended up hosting both nights. I thought that was really fucking cool. Cried when I saw him. Uh he's only been gone since December, but you know, I love that guy. He's my childhood wrapped up in a cute little you can't see me bow. You know what I mean? Overall, I I enjoyed it. I had some pops and nostalgia. I got to watch something that I love to watch. Um, I hope that they continue to do something with these rising stars like Oba, like Trick, like Penta. Uh, Dragon Lee is a fucking beast in the ring, and he does so well in AAA. I hope they bring him and give him more airtime in WWE. Um, overall, maybe I'm just nerding out. But it was a great weekend last weekend for me just to watch this and I get to tell y'all about it, whether you like it or not. So thanks for chatting and yapping with me about one of my favorite pastimes. I hope this did my fellow fans justice and hoping that I provided some curiosity to others. Fingers crossed. I hope you give it a shot. I really do. And until next week, when Brandon does return, I'm Ashley, and this is Committed Technically. Okay, bye.
