Hey gorgeous, and welcome to the gorgeous and graceful life podcast. I'm Annie, your host, and boy, it is so good to be back after taking a break for the summer. I truly, truly needed that time for my body and my soul to recharge and sort of reset as we embark upon the second half of 2026. Now, while I've been relaxing and regenerating, it's important to me to maintain my health. And that has always included keeping up with my exercise routine. Now, I follow a very consistent workout routine that involves cardio, some weight training, and along with every now and then a little Pilates class as the occasional treat. I work out first thing in the morning at the crackadon, um, however, in my garage. And so, well, every year about mid-July, the heat becomes so unbearable, even at 5 a.m. in the city that I live in, that I usually uh temporarily sign up for the gym for about 60 to 90 days or until it cools off, just so that I can keep up with my routine. Now, I'm also very clear when I sign up, I always state like I'm only here for the air conditioning. I am not here for more motivation or discipline or to socialize or those cool protein shakes. No, I'm literally here on my mission. However, this year, the gym was really trying to sell me everything. And even after I politely said no a lot, the gentleman that was helping me went to get his manager to upsell me even more. He started the conversation by saying, We really care about you and your results. And I like smiled internally, knowing that 30 seconds prior to our conversation, he didn't even know my name. But now he cares so deeply about me and my personal fitness results. And this encounter really got me thinking that everywhere we turn, someone is literally trying to sell us something. Um, it's as easy as like when you open your phone and you scroll for a bit, and like here comes all the ads in your feed, and then or you watch a video and then there's a commercial within that video. Um, you check your email in the morning, and then there's like 20 companies promising you that this one purchase will change your life forever. Social media is also telling us that we need like the newest skincare routines, another productivity planner, some new streaming device, or some other gadget. And the message is like always the same. If you buy this, you'll be happier. If you own this, you'll finally be enough. If you achieve this, you'll feel complete. And our world has literally just become like one giant marketplace. Everything has a price. But today, I want to remind you of five of the most beautiful truths you'll ever hear. And so, number one is the greatest gift that you'll ever receive will never cost you a penny. God's love is truly free. And this example really made me think about that. How we're being sold everything, but yet what God gives us is free. His grace is free, his mercy is free, his forgiveness is free, his invitation is free. And unlike anything else that this world has to offer us, his gifts don't expire. And we've become sadly so accustomed to paying for everything that we sometimes carry the same mindset when we have our relationship with God. Like without even realizing it, we begin believing that we have to earn God's love. Like I need to be good enough. Like if I pray more, maybe God will love me a little more. If I stop making mistakes, then maybe I'll deserve more of his blessings. But I'm here to tell you that that's not true at all. And that brings me to number two. Grace doesn't come with a price tag. Now, one of the best ways that I like to describe how grace is given to us is similar to how if you've ever been to a Mexican restaurant, and the minute you are seated, like a divine angel in the form of a server swings by and brings you chips and salsa instantaneously. And like you didn't ask for the chips and salsa, you didn't even earn the chips and salsa. And when you get the check at the end of the meal, the chips and salsa are never listed on the bill. And that is how literally grace works. Like God gives it to us at no cost, without questions or any work on our part. And the Bible tells us in Ephesians 2, 8, and 9, for it is by grace that you have been saved through faith. And this is not from yourselves, it is uh the gift from God, not by works, so that no one can boast. Did you get that? Like this is a gift, it's not a paycheck, it's not a reward or like a treat for good behavior. It's truly a 100% gift to us. Number three, you are already enough. The world is constantly selling us the idea that we're missing something. And just like I mentioned in my gym experience, I had already paid for a membership and I had already agreed to my monthly membership fees, and yet Omar did not think I was enough or that was enough. He wanted me to have personal training sessions three times a week and meet with the nutritionist one time a week. And I kept thinking, like, why? I am healthy, I am within my healthy BMI and weight range. So why wasn't that enough? But that's kind of what the world tells us. Like, you're not pretty enough, you're not successful enough, you're not organized enough, you're not young enough, you're not wealthy enough, and always you're not productive enough. But listen to me carefully, friend. God has never, and I mean never once, looked at us and said, Ooh, you know what? You're almost lovable. No, he simply says, you are loved before you accomplish anything, before you clean up your life, before you become better or get your stuff together. He already loves you. And that's the difference between marketing and mercy. Marketing says you need more, and Grace says, you already belong. Number four, you don't need to earn what has already been given. Some of us are running around here exhausted, not because life is difficult, but because we're trying to earn something that we've already been given. We're striving for approval, we're working for more acceptance, we're trying to prove ourselves. And I want you to know you don't have to perform for God's love. You already have it, and that's what changes everything. When we know we're loved, then we obey from a place of gratitude, not um out of guilt. And then we serve from joy and not obligation. And then we worship God because our hearts overflow, not because we're trying to earn more brownie points. Number five is free doesn't mean cheap or less than. Sometimes we confuse free with worthless, but the most valuable things in life are free. A sunrise, listening to your kids' laughter, a genuine hug from someone, forgiveness, hope, peace, grace. God's love isn't free because it lacks value, it's free because his generosity does not have any limits. So remember, friend, every day you wake up, you are gifted with the best gift ever from God. It's free, it's valuable, and you are always, always enough. And now before I go, I want to share with you your gorgeous and your graceful life challenge. And so here's what you're gonna do. The next time you scroll or you see some commercial or advertising or advertisement promising you happiness, I want you to just stop and smile because I want you to remember something that the world has already forgotten. And that is that joy isn't for sale, peace isn't for sale, hope isn't for sale, and grace isn't for sale. God has already given them freely to everyone, and that's the most beautiful offer you'll ever hear. No hidden fees, no monthly subscription, no expiration date, just endless grace that is sufficient for you forever. Thank you so much for tuning in to this episode with me today. If this episode encouraged your heart, I'd love for you to share with someone who needs the reminder that God's love isn't earned. It's simply received. Until next time, live gorgeously, walk gracefully, and joy will find you.
