Today I’m introducing a brand new series on the Why Not Whatnot Podcast called Inside the Shop.

In this episode, I explain how the series works and what you can expect each month. Inside the Shop takes a closer look at what’s really happening in the Whatnot world — the shows, the sellers, and the conversations happening around the platform.

Each month you can expect:

• Inside the Shop Socials — where I sort through conversations happening across social media and clear up questions, opinions, and misinformation about Whatnot.

• New Seller Spotlight — conversations with sellers who are just getting started and sharing their early experiences.

• Inside the Shop Snapshots — where I scroll through live shows and share my thoughts on what sellers are doing right and what could be better.

• Seasoned Seller Spotlight — conversations with more experienced sellers who have success stories and insights to share with the Why Not Whatnot community.

I’m also introducing a How to Pack a Box series on the first Sunday of each month at 4 PM, where I’ll demonstrate exactly how I pack and ship items. Obviously, you need to bookmark those on Whatnot.

Hey there guys. I hope everybody is doing really, really well and I am like over the moon excited about what I'm coming to you with tonight because this is a new series, which is really, really crazy because I just finished a seven-day one one episode per day series, and I thought I was gonna be exhausted and not want to do another episode at all, but I guess I was firing on all cylinders this morning, and this idea came to me at like eight o'clock in the morning, and by 11 o'clock, I had done a lot of the framework to this and figured things out, and I was on the phone making things happen, and I think my second call to really get the ball rolling was at around uh four o'clock. So within one day, I've come up with a whole bunch, and I'm really proud of myself. I'm really excited, and I hope you guys are too. But um, let me go ahead and tell you what it is. Basically, the new series is gonna be called Inside the Shop, and I'm gonna capitalize it just so that it's easier for you guys to see. Um, and then it's got different parts to it, okay? I think it's gonna be fun, I think it's gonna be helpful, and um, this isn't something new to me. I've done this before. I used to have talk shows on whatnot, and um honestly, the algorithm just really does not reward you for that unless you're selling as well when you do that. And um, so yeah, I moved over to the podcast and I like it better because people can easily access it. It's free, it's not going anywhere, and it's not competing with the algorithm trying to send people in and all of that. Um, so what we're gonna do basically is um, well, I mean, I'm gonna have different kinds of episodes, okay? And really where this comes from is I back in the day when I did these talk shows is I would I had the idea that if I just put my phone up to the computer and we scrolled through, I could literally just sit there and go from live show to live show with you guys. And so it was kind of like rolling with your homies, if you will. We would go into one live show and I'd have like 30, 40 people with me, and I'd say, Hey, we're watching you as a group, a collective group, and you're new or whatever. And they'd be like, Really? There's like 40 of you watching me right now. And I'm like, Yeah, we're in a talk show. And it would just be a lot of fun to go into these shows and talk about what they were doing right or not. Sometimes if they were doing things where they weren't paying attention to the chat or the lighting was bad or whatever it is, we wouldn't say anything to them at all. We were kind of incognito. So I haven't figured out exactly how I'm gonna do that. But I thought, why don't we do that here? You won't get to actually see what's going on, but you're gonna get to hear my commentary. And obviously, it's not going to be by the time you click on the podcast, that show's already gonna be gone. But it's still maybe fun. We'll see how that goes. Um, but but it was fun, right? And also when I had my talk show, I talked to people who were newbies or um seasoned sellers who were like, yeah, this is a good idea or this is what I do. And we'd run into different problems or circumstances, situations, whatever. And we would have these really big, interesting conversations. And from the get-go, even in my intro, I talk about how I want to have interviews with sellers. But then I started thinking about it and I was like, you know what? I want new people on here too. I want them to have the opportunity to talk about where they're coming from, what category they're in, what they're doing, what they're thinking, all of that, right? So basically, this new series is going to have three main types of episodes, okay? So the first one is called Inside the Shop Spotlights, okay? And the spotlights are just that. It's where we have these conversations with the sellers, sometimes brand new, sometimes um somebody who's been on the app for a really long time who has like great success and wonderful experience to share and and all of that, you know. If um you're a seller and you want to be on the spotlight in one of these upcoming episodes, you can apply for that. There's a short application that you can find um with all of my um Linktree information. And um, anyways, that's that's part of that. So if you're in the spotlight in any of these, also, you're gonna become a why not whatnot ambassador and spread the word about the podcast because you know it's fairly new, it's been around for 70 days. I've done like 40 episodes in 70 days, and so we want to get this free resource out to people. So um, if you do become one of these sellers who's gonna be, you know, in interviewed basically in the spotlight, if you're new or seasoned, you're gonna get a certificate and a trophy to display in your shop. Um, so you can go to the Linktree application, which is always at the top of my show notes in every episode, and you can do that. And you can call me too. My phone number's in my profile, but it's also 832-607-1526 if you have any questions. Um, but, anyways, um, the second thing besides the spotlight is going to be shop snapshots. Um, inside the shop snapshots. And that's where I'm doing what I talked about, scrolling through the live shows and just sharing my really raw, straightforward thoughts on what I'm seeing, what the good sellers are doing, or things that they could do better, or interesting products, or cool games, whatever that is, all the little details that are right and people are doing good. And that's gonna be giving you guys advice on what you should do, right? Um, and then the third one is inside the shop socials. And socials is where I'm taking a you know bird's eye view of social media, the things that all the chatter in different groups and such, the questions, the debates, the rumors, the great ideas, the misinformation, you know, all of that. And we're gonna sort through what's actually true and right and correct and all of that, right? And um, so each month I'm gonna release these episodes. The way it's going to go down is one per week. So four episodes. If there's a five, if there's a five-week month, we're just skipping that last one. Um, but the first one is gonna be the shop socials. That's where we're looking at the people and what they're saying across the media. Then the second week is gonna be new seller spotlights where we're just getting, you know, hearing about how they found out about whatnot and how they're getting started and maybe trying to get them to their 1K, right? And then the third one is the snapshots, inside the shop snapshots where we're scrolling through and telling you what I see. And then the fourth week is going to be a season seller spotlight. Now, I'm just gonna tell you, I've already called two people, um, and I'm, you know, paying, paying for it. I'm I'm getting them on, paying it forward. I love these first two people. I already found a new seller and a season seller, and I've asked them both to come on, and they have said yes. So we've already planned when we're gonna record, and I am super excited about this because I didn't want to start moving forward with all this till I knew we had a lot of people coming in. And guys, there are thousands of you listening. I mean, every day, the amount of downloads just makes me super excited. I am just like, wow, this is awesome! Y'all are sharing it out, you're mentioning it in your shows. It has just been amazing, and I just cannot thank you enough. And so now I'm like, yes, it's going, it's working. Let's bring these people on. So each month you're gonna get to hear socials, you're gonna get to hear a new seller spotlight, you're gonna get to go through the snapshots where we go through different people's, you know, live shows and I talk about it. We're gonna do the season seller spotlights, and it's gonna give us lots of different ways to look what's happening inside whatnot and outside of whatnot, you know? And um also, let me not forget this. I'm doing a how-to series, um, how to pack a box. I've done this before, and I realize there is just no way in hell I can describe this on a podcast. So I am going to do that for four months in a row, the first Sunday of every month, because we do communion Sunday and we have potluck, and so then I won't have to cook and I can come home and do that. So every first Sunday for the next four months at 4 p.m. Central time, I'm gonna walk you through how I pack and ship items, what items I use, which you can also find in that little button it says link tree, and it'll take you right to my Amazon uh page and you can go there. Um, but it it's going to be visual so you can see the process. You can see what tissue I use, what bags I use, the steps we use, how we've even thrown items across our living room to make sure that it is strong and supportive. So um I'm excited about all these things. I mean, right now we're talking about the seasons uh series and how the how-to series and all of that. So I'm psyched, guys. Um, also, consultations. I know some people are asking. I do consultations. I'm right now I've been doing just five a week because I my life is crazy. But if you are interested and you need some help, I'm always gonna keep it cheap. I'm always gonna keep it inexpensive because you are here to make money and I want you to succeed. And I know there are people who charge like$150 an hour. I will never do that, guys. I'm not gonna do that. I'm here to help you. The only reason I put a dollar amount on it is because I feel like my time is valuable too, and I just I would spend all my time on the phone with you guys all the time helping out if I could. And it's also for my boundaries, right? So I do these one-to-one phone consultations, it's just$20 for 30 minutes. So you could for 40 bucks talk to me for a whole hour, ask me any questions you have. It's one-on-one. And um, I just think that that's a really great price because I'm going over everything, like preparing your shows. And um, I've done it where we do FaceTime or we um also share pictures back and forth. Your organizing, your listing, your shipping, um, branding and logos. I've designed uh, I think eight logos already. Um, all the general business help that you might need, you can call me once again. It's 832-607-1526. And like I said, I'm only taking five per week. So I'm gonna finally go to a flyer type thing, and it's gonna have a QR code. So when I came on, I didn't know anything about thermal printers or which one to get or how to hook it up or any of that. Um, and so things like which tape I use or which boxes I suggest, or I mean, there's a persidium fight, you know, in there. There's so many different things. Um, and even my lipstick is in there, you know, office supplies, cleaning supplies, packing materials, even giveaway ideas are in there, guys. I put a lot of time and energy into it. So just go to the show notes of this episode or any episode, and it's on the top. You just click on it, it'll bring all this up, and I'm gonna continue to add to that and bring things over there, including PDFs. I know some of you have reached out and asked for certain PDFs, and honestly, I just have not got it together. Spinning a lot of plates here, guys, trying to balance it all, and that's really why I'm working with this schedule of having these episodes that come out once a week. And I'm not pigeonholing myself into what day and time it's gonna come out because I just have too many things on my plate. So it'll come out that week, but I I can't guarantee. So, um, anyways, that's it. The episodes, once again, are called Inside the Shop. I'm gonna capitalize them just like I did in this episode or will soon. And um, some some some of these episodes will be inside the shop spotlights, you know, once again, where I talk about their experience. Some of them are the snapshots where I'm scrolling through live shows and I'm sharing my thoughts. Um, then there's the social ones where I'm going through social media, questions, opinions, misinformation. And then the last one, once again, is the spotlights where we're doing um, you know, interviewing people and what that really looks like. And so um, between spotlights and snapshots and socials, I did three S's, did you get that? Um, we are going to be giving you a real look at what's happening in Whatnot and outside of Whatnot. And I think it's gonna be a lot of fun and a really great series. I personally talked to the two people today, and I was like, man, I cannot wait to interview you. So I I'm super, super stoked about this. And I'm just realizing like, what is my affinity for S's? Because I just did the 1K6S series that had six S's, and now I've done three S's with spotlights, snapshots, and socials. I don't know, guys. I named all six of my kids H names, you know? So um I'm just I I I didn't realize I was doing it until I did it. But this all happened today. All of this really kind of came together from eight o'clock this morning when I woke up and I was like, I got it, I got it. And this is gonna help my schedule and my organization because then I've got a goal, right? Like, okay, I've got to interview you on this Wednesday night, and I've got to put that episode out by Friday night or whatever. And so I'm really working um hard to try to get all this done. So, guys, I hope you will, you know, start coming to these episodes. And if you have any suggestions or advice, always feel like you can leave a message. We're just gonna keep it simple and plain. We're just gonna have a conversation and we're gonna give it to you like it is.
