OK guys this is just another episode of me giving some advice on things to do and not to do but I also talk about my latest bad review and how I really could use your help and getting my rating from 4.8 back up to a 5 star so please help me out with that.
Thanks so much for your support
Hey there guys. I hope everybody is doing really well. This is another Inside the Shop Snapshots episode. That's where I scroll through live shows and give my thoughts and opinions, what people are doing right, what people are doing wrong, what people are doing that may be sketch or chanky, and give some details that I think could improve or make it a little bit different or better. So that's what we're doing today. But before I get going on that, I wanted to say a couple things here, real quick. The first one is I think to get going on what I'm doing, I think every buyer and seller should do this when you're first getting started. I think you need to do the research. I tell all my clients, do not just jump on this app and just start doing it. You need to spend at least, I tell everybody, two weeks on the app going into different shows in different categories, seeing how people display things, learning maybe about OBS if you want. That's you know, on online broadcasting where it's a whole nother thing. You guys can look it up. We'll we'll do an episode one day. Um, if you want to do something like that, learning how to list things or not list things, learning how to weigh things, all of it. You're going to gain a lot of wisdom and knowledge just by watching and going in. That being said, don't just watch it and go in and just sit there. Engage, okay, guys. When you go in, especially if you're a new seller and you go in and you engage and you talk and you say hi, how are you doing? I even say goodbye. I think that should become normalized. I hate the fact that on this chat people can come in and say, hi, how you doing? And then they just leave without saying goodbye. I want everybody to come in my shows and say, okay, I'm leaving now, goodbye, because that's normal human behavior. What's happening on here is making us less human all the time. You know, it's it's hard that I don't get to see your face and that we're, you know, chatting, but at least it's a chat. You don't you don't do that in normal human behavior. But anyways, um, I regress. Um, but the thing is when you're on this and you do what I'm telling you to do, spend two weeks to get going and learn, interact, talk to people. That's how you meet people, that's how you get followers, that's how you learn, you ask questions, etc. etc. So everybody do that. But then, and why I'm doing this is because I it's it's 6:51 in the morning right now in Texas. It's cold. I went to take my dogs out. I came back in and I went on to whatnot to just kind of see who was on, say hi, you know, do my normal routine. I go on for about 15 to 30 minutes in the mornings and say hi to different people, see what's going on. Um, and I went on and I got pulled into a dead stream, which I absolutely, absolutely hate, guys. It's one of my, I really wish whatnot would fix this. But in a nutshell, I'm gonna walk you through a dead stream and reporting things because the way I want you guys to think about this is if you're driving down the highway and there's a wreck over to the right or left, whatever, um, what's gonna happen is everybody slows down to see what happens. It's a morbid, gross, disgusting thing. We do not do that. We try to go as fast as possible. We don't even look. We'll say a prayer for them, we'll say a prayer for the ambulance people and and the people that's our MO. We we pray for the situation, we pray for the lawyers and the money and what all that, but we do not stop and look. We go. We go because we have a place to go to, and we know if we're not focused on the future path where we're going, and we are like everybody else, we're just contributing to the problem. Everybody who pulls over is contributing to a problem. The reason I say that is when you go onto a platform and it takes you to a place that's that's not a good place, whether I'm gonna get to all the listing here instead of me trying to guess it, but you're you're contributing, you're you're not helping things unless you report it. The thing that you're supposed to do, if you actually are the first one who sees a wreck, you're supposed to call 911, get the police there so they can take care, you know, they can send the ambulance, they can send the police department, they can get the wreck off the road. That's what you're supposed to do. And I think it's the same thing here on whatnot. So I I know I'm starting this off with like negativity and bad, but I promise we'll we'll get into it and we'll go to some live shows and it will be good. Oh man, the girl I wanted to go to, she's off now. Okay, but I'm gonna just show you what I'm talking about. You know, here we go, show you verbally, I guess. Okay, so I am in a seller who I hope in the future to interview. Um, her name is Kathy Katz. She is a jewelry seller, K-A-T-H-Y Katz, K-A-T-S. Okay, K-A-T-S. Um, and uh, I'm in her show and only for the the reason right now to tell you what I'm telling you to do. Okay. So, what you want to do is when you're in a show and you you're suspecting something wrong, something's not going right, you want to go in and click on their name. Okay, I'm not we're not reporting Kathy. I just did this is just to show you, okay? Um, you click on her name and it'll give you options. I I don't know if you guys know this, that's why I'm doing it. Um, you can see when you click on her name what her reviews are, her average shipping time, and how many she sold. Just since I'm here, she's got a five-star review. She's awesome. She sells jewelry, she has a two-day shipping time, and she sold 13,000 point two items. So she's doing pretty good. When you get there, that's how you can tip or boost someone. Okay. Tipping and boosting, I 100% recommend. If you ever want to come to my show, tip and boost all day, every day. Okay. Next thing is to view their profile. I do this all the time. I click on their name, I view the profile because I want to know who they are, where they're selling from, how long it's going to take to get here, any important information that they may have forgotten to put in their show notes. So I'm going to click on that, you know. Then there's message, which really means private message. I think they should say that there, but um, because some people don't keep reading. Um, message means a private message to her about something. Then the next one says mention in the chats. That's when if you want to talk to somebody in the chat, like I was just in Drunk Booker's show and unique passages came on. I talked about them recently, and she said she clicked on my name and it said Kiri Kennedy, hey girl, or something like that. And then I'm like, hey, back at you, how's it going? And that's just two people chatting in a conversation to say hi to one another. I don't have a problem with it. I think it's really sad when um some sellers don't like it when you do that because this is a community platform, and I think it's a nice thing for us to wave and say hi to each other and make it as human as possible. Um, but the last thing I want to point out on here when you're scrolling down is to block, to block somebody. And then the very last one, see, my I'm on my tablet. It's not showing me. If you go below block, it says report a problem. I'm my phone, I can see it better than my tablet, which is interesting. Um, so then you select a problem. There's all these problems. I'm gonna go through it. There's number one, live emergency, inappropriate content, harassment, selling prohibited items, gambling, prohibited materials, account integrity, youth safety, whatnot, product abuse, and then other platform violations. Okay, I could go in detail on all of these. I'm not gonna do that now. But the last one I click on when I go into a dead stream is like a car dead on the side of the road, like I was talking about. It's the last one. And then you go to the end and it says dead. There's other, well, at the top it says other platform violations, and it gives you even more reckless and dangerous behavior, selling off-platform grading, smoking, vaping, moving transaction off, whatnot. I mean, it's just one thing after another. When you see something that you're not supposed to see or you know something's bad, report it, you know. That's what you're supposed to do. If somebody's having a heart attack, do it. If somebody's, you know, selling, you know, brownies with marijuana in it, sell it, you know, whatever. Um, but dead and inactive streams are a bane to whatnot. It is just a horrible situation. It messes up everybody. I went into this guy's show. I'm not going to report her, but basically, click on dead in inactive streams, up will pop up a box, and that box will um tell you what to put in there. And I have reported it so many times, guys, dead in inactive streams, because what's happening is the algorithm is sending us into those streams instead of sending us to other shows. And that's people that are having real shows that are getting pulled people pulled away from them. So it's just the same traffic analogy, I think, is just really great on this because don't be a rubber necker. I mean, at the end of the day, don't report the problem, get off of it. Definitely don't chat there. Um, when I went into that show, I started doing an episode about just the dead chat, and then I decided I was gonna do the live shopping one and do the snapshots episode. But I think this is very important, guys. If you don't report, nobody knows. Uh, you know, and people keep going in there. At one point, there was like seven of us in there. Some people talked, some people didn't. Some people said this is considered a dead stream, and I'm I did not message them at the time because my thought was, I'm so sick of being pulled into this. Um, so basically, guys, uh, Kathy's not even on. It's I I got a notification that she's gonna be on. Um, so just do it. It's just and and some people might say, Oh, well, you're you're tattletaling, you're being a narc or whatever. Yes, you're absolutely right because it affects me, it affects you, it affects the feeds of people a hundred percent. I think that this honestly, and I've said this before, I've even done this, and this is years, you know, uh into whatnot. I've done live shows on there where it was just community and you're just talking, but now, especially in the last two or three months, it has gone off the chain. I mean, there are people exercising. I mean, I'm like, there's a level. I think that whatnot needs to put some kind of, you know, uh kind of when you go bowling and you put the little rails on the side if you're a little kid bowler so the ball bounces back in. I feel like that's what Whatnot needs to do in this situation because everybody and anybody can get on and do a show about just anything and it's not selling. These community shows have taken over too, and I think it's pulling the algorithm into stuff that we don't need. I think people, this is a community place, and that's great, but I definitely think if you're and I did this, I did devotionals and Christian shows here because I thought that followers mattered. I don't think that anymore. Um, I I thought, you know, I'm gonna be nice and whatever. I, if I could talk to myself, even doing that, yeah. I know people would come in. I was trying to be nice, I was trying to share cool stories and information that I found. If people liked them, they would come and they'd come back again and whatever. The thing is that I could have done that on YouTube, and everybody who's doing these community shows could do them on YouTube or set up another podcast or do something. It's just this is really frustrating to me. Okay, so hold on, sorry. All right, so that is what I was gonna talk about. And then the other thing I was gonna say is you guys got to check out some of the categories. We're gonna get started on this. I've got my tablet in front of me, but you got to, it is unbelievable how many more categories are coming here, which once again proves why you need to report these things because we want the algorithm to do its job and send us to awesome sellers, awesome items and and shows. That's what we should do. So, okay, we're back to um kind of going through this a little bit, and I'm gonna do it step by step for you guys who are new. And when you first pull up whatnot, on the bottom, there are options. There's the home button, the categories button, seller hub, activity, and account. Okay. So what I want to focus on today is categories. So in the beginning, I just want to go through some of these. I actually think when I started thinking about my newbies and other people that, you know, have had some experience on the platform and doing those interviews, which my first interview is Wednesday night. I don't know if I'll actually produce it, you know, on Wednesday night, but my first interview is Wednesday night. And then I have another one on Saturday, and I've got people who are filling out applications. So I these interviews are gonna be coming. That's gonna be such an awesome, awesome thing. Um, and I've actually got another show coming up with somebody I literally just talked to this morning. Um, actually, I took a picture. Let me tell you who he is. I was really impressed by him. Um, general underscore auctions. He's got a five-star rating, less than one day's shipping. I don't know how many because it was just a picture, but I went in this morning and he was doing free shipping. And I was like, what? I was stressed out, quite honestly. It was stressing me out because I know how hard it is doing one dollar starts at 921 sometimes. There's literally been points where I had a really great item, like something, you know, that was like 50, 60 bucks. I'm holding it and I'm starting it at a dollar. I have had I have to look away from the camera. I had to tell my assistant, like in a show recently, Sarah, look at the screen. I can't do it. Tell me when the auction's over so I can go back and click on it. It's stressful as a seller not knowing sometimes if your item's gonna go for it when you're selling 921 shipping. This guy, General Auctions, General underscore auctions, he's doing free shipping. And I said, it's stressful. He said, Oh, hey, Carrie, you know, and he just automatically started engaging with me and talking with me. And I asked him if he wanted to come onto the podcast, and he said yes. So that is definitely gonna be upcoming. I think that's gonna be awesome because wow, that just takes it to a whole new level, guys. And he's done it. He said he was he thinks he was the first person to do it. I don't know if that's true. We can maybe look it up, but either way, he's doing it. And uh wow, yeah. I don't, I think he had already sold like 50 things and he was getting off. He chooses, like I do, to be very intentional with how long you're on because you know afterwards you gotta ship it all. So, um, anyways, that being said, here we are um with categories on the bottom. So this is what I am suggesting that you guys do just because I think a lot of people are really clueless. And I I'm gonna tell you my story. So yesterday um I'm having some personal problems. I went to the courthouse and in Richmond, Texas, and I go to the courthouse, and then I needed to use the restroom, but I had already gone out, and they were like, Well, you have to go right through uh, you know, how you have to go through the electronic scanner and all that. You have to take your watch and everything off. And I was like, Oh, forget it. I'll just find a place. So when I left the courthouse, I found this nonprofit, I can't remember the name of it, but they sell all kinds of really cool things, like candles, leather gear, furniture, everything. And I told them about whatnot. I automatically said, Oh my gosh, you guys would do so good on whatnot. It was like this modern hip, cool. I loved it. It was awesome. And they're like, What's whatnot? And I started talking to them. And the girl behind the counter or whatever, she said, I thought that was just for luxury purses. And I was like, you know, I I didn't say that, but I was just like, people do that. They get in there and they only see one thing and they're like, Oh, I'm not gonna buy a Gucci, or somebody invited them to a show or whatever, and they only see one little tiny bit. Guys, whatnot is huge. And when you spend some time in this category area, you're gonna find out. I was telling her, I was like, you can get live fish, you can get steaks, you can get plants, you can get vintage stuff, you can buy um, you know, motorcycle parts and fishing gear. The list just goes on and on and on. And I'm just gonna go through some when you go up to Red, there's a at the top it says recommended, popular, or A-to-z, just for our sake. And I think it would be fun uh to do interviews where I actually interview everybody in every one of these categories because I think that would, you know, draw attention to these different, you know, places, these platforms, these people, and really help us learn about it, you know, and understand it a little bit more. But I gotta just tell you some of these before we get going. Um, one is the first one is 3D prints. We ever everybody knows what that is. Um, I'm gonna tell you how many viewers are in there right now, too. This is uh seven o'clock in the morning in Texas Central Time. So there's 3D prints, there's only four people in there. Action Figures has 19 viewers. Um, I had to look this up. AFL. It means, oh gosh, I did look this up and now I can't remember. It means something like where they take it offline or something. They go off for a second to break it or something. I'm gonna have to come back to that, guys. I actually had to look it up. I'm like, why couldn't they put the whole word there? I guess they're trying to be cool. Um, AFL cards is probably what it goes by all the time. I know that sounds stupid to me, but that's just not my thing, guys. I did go look it up and I can't remember now. Um, ancient coins is an area. I knew there was coins, but I didn't know there was ancient coins. And then when you click on it, you can you have a choice to follow something. Um, and what you follow is going to help the algorithm decide. So if you're just coming on to whatnot, you should come here first to see what you want in your buyer feed. Because if you like antiques, you're gonna click on antiques. If you want baby and kid clothes, that's gonna come through. So whatever categories you follow, the algorithm is gonna send those things to you. Okay. Um, there's one called and whatnot. And when you click on it, it gives you three more choices. All and whatnot has 535 viewers, everything else has 429, and the next one is community, which we can maybe come back to some other time. I don't I don't want to mess with that today. Um, then there's anime and and MAGA, there's antiques, there's vintage, there's art and prints, um, arts and handmade is a fun one that has 280 viewers, and then when you open it up, it divides it into subcategories, guys. This is nuts. I mean, I I just I am baffled and amazed and bewildered by just how many categories somebody has said it's 260. I think it's maybe more than that. The one I told the girl at the at the store the other day, I was like, I don't know if we sell skateboards. I'm actually gonna look it up right now because that was the one thing. Oh, skateboard in shows, skateboard and product. I've never seen a skateboard be sold. I don't see anybody selling them right now, but that takes you into a whole new world right there. Type it in skateboard. Oh my gosh, what is this world? Oh my gosh. Um, so yeah, you could type anything in the search engine and it's gonna take you to whatever. Let me get rid of that so that doesn't start coming in my feed. And it also keeps a track of your recent searches. So every once in a while I go in and I clean that out just because I want my feed to have, you know, different things. Um also there's it breaks where I was was our uh arts and handmade. It breaks it up. You got scrapbooking and journaling, you've got heat transfers, you got uh once again, 3D prints in there, woodworking, knitting, crocheting, stickers, crafts, resin. I mean, it is it's insane, guys. Like I was telling her, I said, I say it's like Amazon on crack, but live. You know, there's baked goods. Uh, okay, here, let me get back to where I was because I was, I'm not gonna go through all these, but I'm gonna pick some. Um, baked goods. Let's click on that. Nobody's on right now at all in baked goods, which, hey, you guys, if you want to start selling some cookies, nobody's on right now. I think that's the other thing. Doing this, if you don't, if you don't know what your options are and you're thinking, hey, you want to go into a category that isn't super saturated, maybe this is how you do it. You're like, uh, do I go to bath and body, or do I go to electronics, or do I go to baked goods? And you're in between those three. Go on, see how saturated it is. See, see if you're one of a few, or if you're, you know, one in millions. I mean, you know, my husband used to work for a big company and he was a medium-sized fish in a large, large pond. Now he's a big fish in a smaller pond. Um, that's that's basically how you decide where you're working in the in an office. Why not do the same thing here on the whatnot platform? You know, it just makes sense to me. Um, there's the beauty products, and it breaks it down into beauty products, right? You've got makeup and skincare, you've got fragrances and perfume, you've got bath body essentials. There's a whole category. I'm not making this stuff up. There's a whole category for hair products and wigs. There's a whole category for men's grooming. I mean, right now there's only one viewer in hair products and wigs, but let's click on it just for fun. Come on, we're we're just having fun here. I'm just going through. Let's click on this. It's hair growth oil. This is one person selling one item. Let's click on it. It's got some cool music. I don't know if you can hear that, but it says hair growth oil 100% natural. I'm sure it's got rosemary. Oh, it has pumpkin seed hair stuff, but nobody's selling. I hate this, y'all. I hate it. It's basically a dead stream. It says flash sale. They've got the one item there. It's spinning around. It looks really cool. It looks really nice. They've got a 4.8 star. It's C-A-R-E-L-L-E-C. If anybody wants hair growth oil, um, it looks like they've got some other items in their shop. Uh it looks like it's cool stuff. My personal opinion on this though is get your butt over to Etsy if you are not gonna sell live here. This just, I mean, I know nobody's coming to look for your hair oil because there's only her in there. But if you would maybe actually go live instead of taking my, you know, anybody's time off of this to get directed over to there, that would be good. If you don't want to do live selling, go to Poshmart, go to Macari, go to Depop, go to Etsy, go somewhere else. This is a live selling platform. If you don't want to show your face, show your hands. Come on, guys, get real. Um, nobody else is on in the hairwigs uh products. Nobody is on. The first show comes on in like 20 minutes. Let's click on men's grooming, nobody's in there. Uh, tomorrow night is the first show for men's grooming. Dude, that is like an open category, guys. Like there is hardly anybody. I mean, there's a few people, but boy, I mean, it says uh the barber, what is this? Let me click on this. Your barber connect. Um, your barber connect has men's grooming and has a hundred and nine. I'm gonna click on it now with my bookmark 191. That's 320 at 7 p.m. So if you want men's products, it's showing like some store or something, and they're it's a barber shop or something. Uh, there's some guy named Beard Daddy, B-E-A-R-D Daddy, and he's talking about beard care, and he's got a show 324 at 523 a.m. So some that's definitely uh under search category. But my point, guys, is did you know that there was beard oil category? You know, I mean, like it's crazy. Okay, let's go, let's go to board games and puzzles. You would think it would break it up into different kinds here, but it doesn't. I'm kind of shocked by that. Um, is anybody on? Nope. Nope. The first show that's even coming up in board games and puzzles isn't till one o'clock today. So if you're just like, hey, I have nothing to sell, I don't know what I'm gonna sell. That might these these these I can go through, you can go through the A to Z category and you can see how many viewers there are on the bottom. I can see nobody in basketball, nobody in baseball, nobody in baked goods or uh board games, you know, nobody in camping or hiking. I mean, you can see that nobody's there. This app runs 24-7, guys. And if so somebody's not in a category at that time, it's an option for you to do it. There's cameras and photos. Uh, candles is one of my I love the candles. I follow that category. Let's see who's on. Let's hop in there for a second.
SPEAKER_01Oh my goodness, that is.
SPEAKER_00This is somebody I don't know. I will automatically follow her because I follow everybody.
unknownThere's bergamot, lemon, orange. It has some folk mall.
SPEAKER_00It's called Scenting Ka com. We have another giveaway with S-C-E-N-T-I-N-G com. Let me turn her down.
SPEAKER_01This was curated specifically for Scar.
SPEAKER_00She just sold a diffuser for 17 bucks. She's got 37 people in there. 4.9 today.
unknownI love that.
SPEAKER_01Yes, let's go. Where's my girl, Lady J? You're welcome, iCondre. Here we go. This is the light eye candle.
SPEAKER_00This is part of the she's showing different candles. I don't know if you guys can hear her. So good.
SPEAKER_01It has bergamot, it has the mask rose.
SPEAKER_00It has she definitely knows her product. I think that's awesome.
SPEAKER_01Look how beautiful that is.
SPEAKER_00Once again, it's S-C-E-N-T-I-N-G com, if anybody's interested. She's selling a Star Wars candle right now. She's got 40 people in there. That's what I was telling this girl at the show the other at this shop the other day that there's a ton of candle sellers. Okay, let me get out of that and go back to where we were. Back to categories. Okay, so that's that's what's going on. There's 52 vis viewers. She's got the only shop going on right now in candles. So if somebody's a candle person and there's only one show on, odds are that if you go on at that time, hello, somebody might like your candles better than the other girls. That's all I'm saying. Snacks and candy has definitely got some traction. They've got 405 in there, and it's not broken into. I think snacks and candy eventually will be broken up into chocolate and non-chocate, um, or could be, or um, you know, or mixed. Um, there's also a bunch of exotic snacks, chips, foreign stuff. Blazian Bunny is an awesome seller. I love her. Um, I haven't really checked out a lot of these other ones, to be quite honest. Blazing Bunny, if you guys know who she is, she also sells on, I mean, she also has a YouTube channel. Um, so you can check her out there. Candy boxes. There's just a ton of stuff. Popcorn, candy, whatever. This is a let's check this. It says case packs and bundles. It's its own category. It says case packs and bundles are lots of 10 plus items designed for resale. So if you're coming on and you're like, dude, I don't even know what I'm gonna sell or where I'm gonna get merchandise. Well, here you go. You can come over here. Um, right now, let's go into this. It's resell city. Let me click on this. Resell City has they're putting a bunch of cards. I'll follow them. They only have 4.8. I think personally, these categories have lower ratings a lot of the time. I don't know if it's the audience, if it's the materials, I don't know, but they a lot of the time they'll have 4.7, 4.8, 4.9. And I see that more in these types of categories.
SPEAKER_01It's a very expensive, high-quality toy, guys, very likable toy.
SPEAKER_00See, I hate it when somebody says, Man, I hate manufacturer suggested retail because something's only worth what it's worth. Uh but when they say, Oh, it's worth like$300, and I'm selling it to you for a dollar start, that drives me nuts. But I mean, I guess you can do what you want to do, but he's pulling out what is he pulling out? He's he's got the camera way too close, so I can only see a corner of the box. Uh yeah, he needs to move the camera back.
SPEAKER_02Guys,$75 apiece, guys.
SPEAKER_00$75 for a Star Wars OB1 Kenobi thing he's talking about. This is resell city R East S-E L L C I T Y Resell City. They have 181 people in here. They're they've got 91 people in a giveaway. Honestly, I think a huge portion of the people in here are Gibby Goblins who just come in for that.
SPEAKER_01Take it, take it, sell it. What's it gonna go for?
SPEAKER_00He's like, it goes for 75 bucks, guys, go, go. He's you know, one of those bitted up sellers. Go, go, go, go, go. I can't do these shows, guys. I'm just saying. I'm doing it for your benefit.
SPEAKER_02You can take this and sell this for literally triple what you guys are making.
SPEAKER_00You can sell and triple. He goes, he goes, you're gonna be able to sell this for 75 bucks. Go, go, go. And it's the high pressure sales I'm not a fan of. He's got 112 people in the giveaway now. 30, it's up to 31 bucks.
SPEAKER_02I'm trying it one more time, guys. One more time.
SPEAKER_00One more time, one more time. I'm gonna, you guys, I'm gonna give you one more chance. Come on, go, go, go. I I can't do it, guys. I can't I love you, but I I I can't do it. I'm just saying. Um, yeah, okay, let's go back to categories. I'm not not gonna go all up. We'll stop at the end of C here. I'm gonna show you. Um, CDs and cassettes. There's a whole chocolate category. So they do have it. I don't know why chocolate isn't under snacks and candy. You know, it's got its own category and it probably doesn't need its own category. It could be a subcategory under snacks and candy. So things that make you go, hmm, I don't know. There's a whole section, guys, to coffee and tea. Let's go to coffee and tea. In coffee and tea, there's a place right now called the coffee vault that's got 22 people in it. There's nobody else on. My thought is that whoever Flora Cure is, it's F-L-O-R-A-C-U-R-A-E, she has makes her own teas, and that looks awesome. Her page looks awesome. It says Trance Tuesday. She's coming on today at 7:30. If she came on just half an hour early, she doesn't have much competition. She probably knows what she's doing, I'm thinking. Um, but her very first thing is um somewhere in there, I saw which. And that as a Christian, that just makes me not interested. Her very first thing is which. Um, so I'm not gonna follow that and click on that. No offense against her. I'm a Christian. I just am not hanging out in witch rooms, but your tea looks awesome. Your tea looks cool. Um, there's a bunch of people, starter kits, all kinds of tea, and I mean, there's some awesome stuff in here, guys. I definitely think if you like tea and coffee, you might want to follow. I'm gonna follow that category. Um, and the next one is coins. Coins and money, there's a bunch of them. Um, I don't know why that's not in the same category. You kind of wonder how whatnot's doing it. I don't think we're ever gonna understand. Some things make sense to me, some things don't. One says coins and bullion, the other one says coins and money. How come that can't be under one category and then the subcategories like some of the others? I I don't know. Let's go to comics because this is huge. We definitely need to interview some comics people. Um, there's this is where it all started, I think. In the very beginning, when whatnot got started, comics and these things like Pokemon cards and Funko's and stuff like that. It was kind of like the nerd area. That's how it got started. Um, and how ridiculous is this? Um, whatnot, pay attention. They have condiments and sauces under comics. Wait, no, they don't. They don't. It's to the right. I take it back. I was like, how did that happen? But just the way this works is when you click on comics, um, it says all comics, modern comics, and vintage comics. That's where I like it's the subcategory underneath it. That's why I'm thinking chocolate should be a subcategory of snacks and candy, but whatever. Um, so there's a ton of people in there. There's 222 viewers in comics. Modern comics has 136 and then 86 viewers. You're like, that's not a ton of people when you consider how many people are on the app. Well, you're right, but it's also 723 in the morning, and so I think that's pretty good that people are waking up and going in there. There is a condiments and sauces category, guys. And I mean, these are usually people who make their own stuff, and I just think it's so cool to meet people who are, you know, making their own items and coming on here. I think it's a great idea for you guys who are newbies or want to maybe sell in different categories and see how your things are doing. I definitely think that's a good idea. They've got consoles and accessories. I feel like that should be a subcategory of electronics. Help me out here. I don't understand what they're doing, but it is what it is. They've got craft stamps, gems and crystals. Gems and crystals has 160 and I mean 116 viewers right now. Let's go into one of these rooms. This is the crystal room.
SPEAKER_02I'm definitely going for a tag asc, but yeah.
SPEAKER_00Let's listen.
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_00This is C-H R I S T I N A R 777. Kristenar 777. And it's a guy.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna do$30 for this one, guys.
SPEAKER_00He's holding up a skull. And uh everybody, if you want to. He said I'm gonna start it at$30, but it's up to$42. He's got 21 people in the room.
SPEAKER_02Very crazy. Oh my gosh. He just got the skull nice. OMG called a lot of skulls. That's so crazy.
SPEAKER_00He's got a shop, but he's only doing$2 starts. Or clicking something else. He sold 20 items.
SPEAKER_02I have another one, but it's a little bigger.
SPEAKER_00He's definitely got an accent.
SPEAKER_02It's blue one. Blue tiger's eye. Blue tiger's eye. This is a little bit coarse.
SPEAKER_00This one is a little bigger than blue tiger's eye with quartz. They they're pretty. If you want to, if you want to scroll. This is 45. Uh made out of rock. He's running this at 45 bucks. Let's see if anybody gets it. Yep, somebody's getting it. They're buying this. I mean, it's doing really, really well. I do have a lot.
SPEAKER_02Amber got it.
SPEAKER_00Okay, so there's that. That's called that. Well, his show was called the Crystal Room. Once again, it was C-H-R-I-S-T-I-N-A-R 777. If anybody wants crystals and gems, that's where we just were. Let me get back to the category. Okay, and then the last thing is cycling. Nobody's in the cycling, and there's not even a show till tomorrow. So you know if you're going into a category and nobody's in there for a whole day, you've got some traction. You really do. And I like I've said this before, guys, I think whatnot is at the very beginning. I keep seeing people, it's it cracks me up all the time. I think they're just bitter, bitter people. But um today I saw, I'm getting off, guys. Uh we've already gone through enough. I'm not spending too much time hanging out in different sellers' shows today, but I I wanted to tell you a couple more things. On Facebook, I keep seeing people go on and go, you know, whatnot sucks. It's been absorbed by all the big sellers. Us little sellers can't get anywhere. You know, it's it's horrible. Whatnot's, you know, going down, it's awful, you're gonna waste money, you know, you're not gonna make any money. And I'm just like, haters be haters. You know, I just like, come on, if you can't say something nice, don't, I mean, don't. Unless it's constructive and it's gonna help somebody, uh, you know, just just don't. Um I I think that the the thing is if you don't like whatnot, get off. Just get off. Nobody's forcing you here, nobody's holding a gun to your head. You don't have to come on on all the social platforms and spend your time there. Find something better to do with your time, you know? Volunteer somewhere, you know, go to a pet shelter and pet the dogs, do something instead of just going on here and either A, being a gibby goblin, or B, going in and terrorizing shows and being a pain in people's butts, you know, or going around on social media and bad mouthing whatnot. I mean, find something better to do with your time. I mean, honestly, it's not good for your soul and your heart to run around bad mouthing everybody, you know, talking about what you don't like in life. Focus on some positive good things, you know. When I do say negative things about shows or like how that guy just then had the camera too close, I was seeing a corner of a box. It was like, dude, pull the camera away. It wasn't meant to be a mean thing, buddy. You're you're a screw up in life. It was meant to be practical advice for you guys to think of how to zoom in and how close you want to be and how far away you want to be. Because if people can only see a corner of your item and then you know, it's so close up to the camera, you need to pull the camera back. That's that's positive, you know. That's a good thing. Um, speaking of this, um, I also wanted just to tell you guys um, you also have um the option when you're listening to these podcasts to go in and give a rating and a review. And I'm trying to get to, I don't even know if I have it on my tablet. Um, here it is. You have ratings and reviews that you can leave. Um, this morning on BuzzSpra on it says 18 people have downloaded today so far. That's pretty low. Um, probably because I haven't put an episode out in a couple days. Um, but you can go to your podcast, right? And you can put a rating in there and you can also put a review. And I was trying to find it right now, and I'm I'm having struggles because I'm on my tablet and I'm not used to being on my tablet. Let me type in podcast. There it is. Podcast. I found it. Okay, so I'm clicking on it. Come on. Oh, I have to download it. All right, it's downloading. Um, yeah, it's downloading. That's why I couldn't find it. Okay, so basically, there's Spotify or Apple or the most places. I think I might move over to YouTube one of these days. I keep saying I'm gonna, and I haven't yet. Um, but that being said, I'm going into look real quick. Come on, Carrie. I have so many podcasts I listen to, guys. It's not even funny. Okay, so if you go to why not what not, um, you can see tons of episodes, tons of episodes. If you scroll past that, I got my worst rating and it's terrible. Um, so I'm probably gonna do an episode in the future about ratings and reviews and tell you guys. But I got a 4.8 rating, which really, I mean, it bothers me because I'm a type A personality and I work so hard to try to get, you know, good reviews and do a good job. Uh, but I'm just gonna tell you this person said, get to the point, DJ47999. Since it doesn't give me a place to talk to DJ, I'm gonna tell you what he said. He said, I really tried to give this podcast a chance, but most episodes are extremely long-winded and rarely get to the point. Um, actually, that's what it is about. It's I'm a woman. I'm not trying to do a TED talk here. I'm not trying to just, you know, here's your points. Three points. Okay, thanks. Bye. That's not what this is. This is you and me sitting on the couch, just having casual conversation, giving you my thoughts and opinions. If you don't like it, get to the point, guy. DJ47999. Once again, don't be mean and rude, you know? So give me some actual insight. He said a lot of the time is spent explaining things that don't actually provide useful insight for sellers. Yeah, I'm gonna disagree with that comment, and I can prove it because I've got such good ratings, such good reviews. I'm obviously helping people. I've got people calling me for consults all the time. So I think that this is just a hater, honestly. He said most of the advice feels very basic and there isn't much practical practical strategy that someone could actually apply to their business. It often sounds more like someone just talking to hear themselves rather than to deliver clear, actionable information. Well, I actually have given tons of clear actionable information, but yes, it's also supposed to be just, hey, here's information. I'm not saying go here, do this, do that. That's not what this is supposed to be. So just FYI uh DJ. Um, the next thing it says this guidance feels surface level and out of touch with how many successful sellers actually operate on the platform today. Beginners would probably benefit more from seeking advice elsewhere. Well, I'm gonna disagree with you there. I really wish you could tell me what episodes you actually listened to because my guess is he listened to part of one and that was it. There's over 50 episodes here, so I'm just gonna say it really sucks when people go in and do that. I guess it looks like I've had uh another one where I got four stars. I have to go through and try to find them all. But right now I can see another one. This person said a must follow. This was four days ago. I just saw it. Tina Time Vintage says, I'm so glad I found your podcast. All the information, all the real talk, all the helping me realize my questions are normal. Thank you so much. This is a great tool and a great help with my whatnot journey. Another person said, I'm new to whatnot and I would like to become a seller. Carrie has the best info. This is the podcast to listen to if you want to get started without being clueless. The next one says, I absolutely love this title. Thank you for taking the time to create these podcasts. You are very knowledgeable. Your content you cover is very helpful, and your method of delivering is very easy to follow. So the next another one says, This podcast is great. It's one of the best I've ever listened to. Not just on whatnot, but overall. I love how she's raw and yet still structured and organized. She covers everything you need to know, and it's just so easy and enjoyable to listen to her. The next one says, I have learned a lot and enjoyed this podcast. Kiri shares real and what is successful techniques and methodologies. I think she the wrong word there, but to succeed at whatnot. Thank you so much and keep it going. And next, I mean, I can keep going on, but you know, I'll give you the last two that are here right now. Love this podcast. It's refreshing to hear from someone who's just giving their honest and unfiltered opinion and advice. I think this podcast is such a great resource for anyone looking for the Whatnot app. I am there is a point to all this, guys. I'm gonna tell you my first one was two months ago, and it was actually from a friend of mine, Kelsey. She listened to it. She said, Thank you, Carrie, for the amazing tips, tricks, and advice about whatnot. This podcast is perfect for buyers or sellers. Truly a one of a kind podcast. Carrie does a deep dive into logistics of selling. And for those of us that don't sell, how to navigate the app, getting amazing deals, not getting scab scammed, and curb uh the addiction of impulse buying. We all want great deals, and whatnot is a great platform for that. I'm looking forward. To hearing the stories that sellers have and their roads to success on the app and the do's and don'ts of how to help your business grow. I highly recommend this podcast for anyone who has shopped on Whatnot or is looking to sell on the platform. So I'm just gonna say if you guys could help me get that 4.8 back up to a five, that would be really terrific. You just have to go in and you it says write a review. It's in purple, it's on the left, right underneath the trailer on the Apple. And Spotify doesn't do reviews. So on Spotify, you can only give the stars. But, anyways, guys, I get that I'm not everybody's cup of tea, and you might not like me, but I am here for free and I am doing my best and I am trying to bring you stuff. Like I said, we're bringing in new seller interviews and older seller reviews. And I'm going through these shows to tell you the things that are on here, and I'm I'm trying my best. If you do have a negative review that you want to give me, I am happy to listen to it if you have suggestions with it, because he basically is that negative review was basically against what I am doing purposely. I'm keeping it raw, I'm keeping it open. I'm I'm I wanted to do this. My husband bought brought home from his office podcast stuff so I could edit it and make it clear and do all this and that. I purposely chose to keep it this way because I don't want it selling like sounding like that, you know? And uh so that's what I'm doing. I'm happy to be here with you guys. I'm proud of you guys for listening. I'm proud of you for educating yourselves. I didn't give too much information here. You're right. I didn't say you should do this and you should do that. If you want that, there's lots of other episodes where I give more opinions and more advice. This is more of a fun one, just to kind of open your eyes up to the different categories, to think about categories if you're coming in to sell, to check out a few people. I didn't spend as much time on that. But you know, guys, some episodes are going to be better than others, and everybody has their different preference. But my request in all of this really a plead is if you've gotten any value out of any of these episodes, if you're sharing it out, if you're calling me for consults, please go in and give me a five-star rating and a good review. Also, I have a show tonight. I got tons more inventory. Oh my gosh, y'all. I spent all weekend sourcing. I have tons of stuff. So come to my show tonight. It's at 6 45. Sarah and I will be there, you know, you know, trying to give you some guys some awesome deals and having some fun. And um, I hope you guys are having a great day. And um, if you need to get a hold of me, it's Kiri Kennedy on whatnot. My phone number's there, and I'm happy to give you a consult or answer quick questions or whatever. All right, guys, thanks so much. Have a great day. Bye bye.
