In this spotlight episode, I sit down with Valery aka Yoldine aka Razzle Dazzle — the powerhouse behind Finishing Touches 1111, an amazing and always fun jewelry shop. Y’all, I have been wanting to get this amazing woman on the mic for a while now, and she did not disappoint.
We talk about how she turned her love of pretty things into a legitimate business, why her packaging alone will make you feel like it’s your birthday and what it really looks like to build something from the ground up as a family — husband, 10-year-old daughter, and all. She went from critical care nurse working 12 to 16-hour shifts to going all in on Whatnot.

We also get into sourcing inventory, scheduling like a sane human being, showing up consistently even when the room is slow, and why passion for what you sell is non-negotiable.

Go find her. Follow her. Pop into one of her shows. You will not regret it.

SPEAKER_00

Hey Valerie, how's it going? Hello, Miss Carrie. How are you? I'm good. I'm good. How's how's it all going? It's going. It's good. It is going. Okay. Well, let me introduce you guys. We are doing a spotlight episode here, and this is Finishing Touches 1111. You guys, that name, but I'm telling you, um, yeah, this is gonna be a good episode. I am going to, real quick, before we even get started, because I did not do this with my other interviews. I'm going to read from your profile real quick. Okay. You have um a five-star rating, a one-day ship time. You've sold 4.2,000 items. Uh, you have 3.3,000 followers, and you're like me, you follow in like 9,000 people. Um, it says thrifted gems and jeweled vintage flare to upgrade any outfits or complement your signature style. Allow me to be your personal shopperslash stylist. I want you to look and feel your best. So rummage through our treasure junk box accessories to amplify your glow when stepping out on for brunch, a date, work, church, a concert, or a simple grunt grocery run. Your jewels and accessories introduce you, make an impression, unique. And I love that. I think it's a really good um description. So, you guys, I'm gonna spell this out for you before I start asking her questions. I want you to go follow her and go to her jewelry shows. Um, I'll tell you the story of how I met her and everything, but it's f-in i-s-h-i-n-g touches t-o-u-c-h-e-s, and then one one one one. You guys know how I feel about the number thing, but we'll get to that. Okay, so but your real name is so my name is Yoldine.

SPEAKER_01

I also go by my maiden name, which is Valerie. Um, but we are finishing it. Touches 1111. Um, that's because that's my birthday. Oh, 1111.

SPEAKER_00

See, I never knew this. I always just thought it was okay, gotcha.

SPEAKER_01

I also go by Razzle Dazzle.

SPEAKER_00

Razzle Dazzle. Okay, wow. So you've got like all these names. Plus, we don't know what yeah, yeah. Um, so she goes by Razzle Dazzle. I I've called you Valerie before, I don't know why. Um, but anyway. She'll she'll be called by anything. Um, just as long as you pop into her show and talk to you. I'm gonna just say my thoughts about you, first of all. I love you. I remember the very first time I came to your show, and I was obviously buying jewelry, and you had such spunk and flair. You had cute jewelry and you talked to us, you asked us questions, you know. I think at that time, this has been a while because we've been friends for a while now. Um, I'm thinking it's been at least what, five, six months at least. And it has. It has, maybe more than that, because my sense of time on whatnot goes kind of crazy. But you sent me a box, and what happened was I freaked out, right? Do you remember this? Guys, she sent me a box that was so amazing. I mean, like unbelievable. Not only was it like just jewelry in like a box and sent to me, like usually I've gotten jewelry, but it was like a whole thing. So before we even get going, can you explain the box? Explain absolutely.

SPEAKER_01

Well, first off, thank you for having me. Um, I have not stopped grinning since we started this phone call. Um, my my cheeks are hurting. Um, but thank you so much for all those kind words, Miss Carrie. Um, you really have been a mirror of just kindness and just um the way that you do what you do. You're an expert. And um thank you for allowing others to stand in the spotlight with you. That's really nice. And thank you for being a good part of this community. So finishing touches 1111, right? Um, I want to live up to the name. I feel that when you are starting a brand, you should really think about um branding. Who do you want to be? How do you want to introduce yourself? Um, so finishing touches, I feel that it's one thing to purchase something to see it, to like it, um, but the last impression is what seals the deal. Um, and so I want all the packages to feel like it's your birthday, it's Christmas. Um, I just want it to feel special because not only is it the the final touch, like my name, but it's also your first impression of me. Um, and I was always taught that first impressions are lasting. Um, and I don't want to just roll some not the toilet paper. Right. Um toilet paper, or um, I've even gotten um toilet paper rolls, the cardboard, trash bags. Um, I just if someone is spending time with you and not only that, they're spending their hard earned earned money with you, I feel the least that you could do is respect and honor that by um giving their package care.

SPEAKER_00

Which is why you and I are like so we we just want to girl because we both have that same oh yeah, yeah, yeah. But tell them about because guys, I didn't just get her box and go, ah, do do do do do. I went in, I took what I did, I gave her a raving review, and then every time for like, I don't know, the next two or three shows that I had, I told everybody about you. I held up the box in my shows. Um, I some of my mods called you into my shows. Oh, yes. Do you remember what beyond? It was, but but my point is it was more than just a first impression because you were branding and marketing yourself, and that had a ripple effect, which I've talked about in previous episodes, you know, it blew out. And then some of my people came into your shows and you sold more. And it really is a community type thing. Is you're really one of your best things always every day. And I think had you not packaged it that way, had I not got beautiful jewelry from you, had it just been your person, those you would not have grown the way you did. You did not, you would not have got the advertising. You wouldn't be doing the test right now. And I think that's the difference between a, okay, I'm selling my items, whatever, to an excellent seller who goes above and beyond and takes the time and the energy, and like you said, honors the people, their time, their energy, their money, and giving back and respecting that. I just I think that's awesome. So um, okay, but now tell them, because I cannot do it justice, how did you wrap the box? Tell them what you did and how you did it because it's important. Okay, go.

SPEAKER_01

Um, so I first jewelry is very delicate. Um, and so a lot of attention has to go so that it's not shaking in the box, it's not loose, and so someone doesn't receive, as I call it, a wounded soldier. Um, so tissue paper, um added bubble paper or bubble wrap. I've recently found that they have these individual, like three by two um bubble wraps that you could put jewelry in that really makes it safe and secure. But what I like to do is add razzle dazzle, like my name. So I'll add little glitter pieces to it or floral stickers. I'm obsessed with flowers. Um, so I'll I'll have um, I'll try to match as best as I can the box or the color to um whatever the person is purchasing, but just little details. And one thing I always leave in the packaging. Um, I I love handwritten notes, just like you, Miss Carey, just like you. We wanted on that, right? Um, so a handwritten note and then um a small motivational message, live, laugh, love, or just some type of quote.

SPEAKER_00

Um, I think just to upload cut out the paper and did you have like stickers or something? It was guys, I opened it up and it wasn't just like here's your item in a box. It was like layer on top of layer, and I like it was so much fun to like unwrap this box. I just didn't have the best reaction. I was like, what the heck is this? It really was it really was like Christmas or my birthday or something. I felt special, I felt cared for. And I think before we get to all the real quest other questions, I have a list. Um, I think that's one of the reasons you, and I think you could probably give me an estimate, you have a ton of repeat customers. The majority of it's word of mouth and repeat customers.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, ma'am. Absolutely, absolutely. Um, I think again, when you take time with somebody's order, it's reassuring to them that you matter. And so it's that little element of you could trust me. I'm not here to take advantage of you. Some here, some people on whatnot are just there to make a quick buck. I am so right, right. We know I want to be a part of this community. I want, you know, the same way that you're pouring into me with your time, I gotta pour it back. It's reciprocal, it's ebb and flow. Yeah. So yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Okay. Well, that's awesome. All right. Well, now that we've talked about the box and how much I like your orders and how I think you're doing good for the community, and you're not just some fly by the seat kind of girl who does just, you know, throws the stuff in there. You take time and attention and effort. And that's one of the reasons I'm interviewing you because I think that this you are proof positive of if you put forth the energy and the time and the effort, guys, how it comes back to you. And I I really think that's that's one of the reasons you are my first jewelry seller interview. Anyways, okay, I know, I know. Okay, so here, let's let me go through some of my questions now so that you can give it. Um, okay, so what state are you in? Tell us a little bit about your life outside of whatnot, your husband, pets, kids, hobbies, any of that. You got it.

SPEAKER_01

So I am from the sunny, sunshine state of Florida, um, which I always tell people that it's like the Mecca for all things vintage and old. Why? So many people come here to retire. That's exactly right. All of so many people. Yeah. Right, right. Um, so I'm from Florida, born and raised. Um, but um, I am married. I am also married, not but, and I'm married, um, to an awesome, awesome, awesome, wonderful man. His name is Daniel, and um, he's the one who found whatnot for us. I have a beautiful daughter, she's 10 years old. Um, and we live here together. Um in it's a team with this whatnot thing. So um I have a team with me here with my husband and my daughter, and um, we live in sunny Florida, so whenever we're trudging hunting, it's always bright and sunny outside, it's always a good day. Um, and then my trade, I am a nurse. I'm a critical care nurse by trade. Um, and I was actually doing that full time uh when I started whatnot.

SPEAKER_00

And now you're not doing it full-time. What are you doing? So part-time now? Because what's really freaking me out is I did not, if I did know this, I forgot. But you were like the fifth nurse that I have talked to this week. Fifth. I kid you not. Stop it. My other interviews, you can go back and talk, look at listen to some of my podcasts. I've done three nurse consultations in a week and a half, and then I talked to another nurse because I'm going through a divorce, and she messaged me and said, I'm a nurse, blah, blah, blah. So I've tried, you're the you're the fifth nurse. I'm like, what the heck?

SPEAKER_01

I can tell you right now.

SPEAKER_00

I can tell you exactly what we're tired. Yeah, I think I mean, I think I think COVID happened and that made a lot of people leave. And then um, and then they just want to be at home with their families, is what a lot of people are saying. Or they have part or they have part-time gigs. So are you still working as a nurse, or what is the deal? So I'm kind of in this weird spot.

SPEAKER_01

So uh I left my full-time job back in October. And so, right now, here's my husband and I, we have this kind of challenge for ourselves. What can we do before I reach my one-year anniversary in July? And so, as a nurse, you kind of have the flexibility of working as needed or PRN as they call it, um, or part-time. So we saved up enough because I was doing bedside for a while. I did travel for a while. Um, we saved up enough, but right now we're just trying to go all in to see where this could take us, which is really great because I feel like, and I'm saying this off, you know, I think that when people come into your room, there's a definite vibe.

SPEAKER_00

And I've been in there, we we just talked about this before we started the interview that some days you're you're good and sometimes you're not not. We all have better days than not, but I tell because I know you well enough, and it's only happened once, but that you were tired. And I oh I could I could tell from your voice. Remember that I I was like, oh my god, oh my gosh, she is not checking on me. You're like, Are you all right? I was like, she is not because guys, her energy level is okay. A normal person's energy level may be at like 80. She's like at 120, you know. She is she is above and beyond, she does voices, she talks. I just tell them some of the things that you say in your shows.

SPEAKER_01

Well, darling, darling, darling. And sometimes I go English, and then other times I go bumber cloud, my goal jammy gun. And then sometimes I go, hello, honey, how you doing?

SPEAKER_00

You know, I just I love it. And you know, the thing is, guys, a lot of the time you go into these jewelry shows, no offense against anybody, but you go in and you're just bored. It all you're doing is looking at jewelry. You will not, and I mean it, guys, you will never go into her jewelry show and be bored because she's talking to you, she's got the accents, she's telling you about her life, she's telling you what she thinks of the jewelry. And it is just go, go, go energy. And I went in one time because we are human, and I went in one time, and you were a little bit more like a normal person. You were like at 80. And I was like, What what's up over there? And um, I you were tired. I think you were getting sick or I was on the struggle bus.

SPEAKER_01

What? I was on the struggle bus bad. I was on the struggle bus. I think it's lots of sleep. I think when the orders are finally coming in, and it's say if you don't have a rhythm, but you're still trying to put, you know, the quality in care. So I was up probably until like one or two in the morning. There's some of those nights. Um, because it's work, it's a lot of work. Um, so yeah, I was I have my struggle bus days, I really do. Um, other days, I just I'm undiagnosed ADHD and I know it. The personality on the camera is just a reflection of me in real life.

SPEAKER_00

But I love it. I I I love it. Everybody who meets you loves it, and I I think that that just speaks volumes. But okay, while we're talking about the struggle bus, when I first talked to you before we started the interview, you said you're on the struggle bus. Tell everybody why tell everybody why and what happened today, Miss Carrie.

SPEAKER_01

So jewelry, I don't know. Sometimes it has feet and it just picks up and walks away. I had um a couple of orders I was trying to finish up and I just misplaced it. I did not know. I'm searching high and low. I mean, I've looked under the couch, every possible drawer um imaginable. Remember, we spoke and I was like, hey, could we push back the time just a little bit? Um, because I'm trying to make it to the post office. Uh, who didn't make it to the post office? Me.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_01

Because I was just rummaging through everything, and I was you you literally want to pull your hair out. So um, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

But that's right. I mean, that doesn't happen often, but it does have.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Yeah. It comes and goes. It comes and goes, but um, it's life. It's life, just like the EKG rhythm strips.

SPEAKER_00

There's this and that. There's ups and downs. That's exactly right. Okay, so let me um ask, okay, some some things. Your normal week, because you're talking about, you know, sometimes it's a struggle, it's a lot of work, you know, late nights, early morning. Tell us what your schedule is. Right now, I just went to your show. I'm on it right now. You guys, if you go check her out underneath her profile, she's got five upcoming shows. Um, and they all have just beautiful backgrounds and pictures, and uh, she's got some pop-up shows. Vintage to modern is pretty much your main thing, though, wouldn't you say? Oh, that's my bacon and jelly and jam right there. Yeah. So she's got a lot of different, um, I feel like you have a really large amount of inventory to pull from, right?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So tell us what your normal week looks like and tell us a little bit about where you're getting your inventory, how you're sourcing, uh, how you're, you know, just all of that. Give me all that. Absolutely, absolutely.

SPEAKER_01

So um my day-to-day kind of changed from when I was going uh what when from when I was full-time till now. Um, when you have a full-time job, there's more structure, you know, okay, my show's in the afternoon, it's after work, after everything. But now that I have more freedom with time, that was hard. That was kind of really, really hard to try to figure out, okay, which days yourself. Yeah. Yeah. You have all this time. So it's like, which days do I go sourcing? Which days do I commit to taking pictures per se, or organizing? Like, there's all these different things that you have to do. So um trying to manage that has been um a different feat. So I created a schedule for myself. Um, I try to give myself off at least two to two days within the week. Um, and then I'm going wait, hold on. That means you're going on five days a week. No, I'm not. No, I'm not. That was impossible. I did try that. Yeah, you were going on, yeah, yeah. Oh no, oh no. Um, I've done shows at night, and then I switched over to the mornings, um, which I felt became better for me.

SPEAKER_00

Um, but um wait, tell me tell me what wait to hold on. Tell me why. Because you were getting better sleep, it worked better with your daughter, or like why did you switch from night to morning and homework, having to cook, um, and then just feeling that my packaging, like I was swallowing behind.

SPEAKER_01

I noticed that my one-day shipping went to two days um as opposed to when I get it done early in the morning, and I'm up at like four in the morning. 4:30, 4 in the morning. I know. Ouch. I know. Ouch. Yeah, ouch is right, but the early bird catches the worm.

SPEAKER_00

So what time what time are you going to bed at night? If you're up at 3:30, 4 o'clock in the morning. So I believe in naps.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

I'll take a nap every day between 12 or 2. There's a nap going on. Okay. And then I'll fall asleep again, maybe 9, 10. Um, so I have different days for sourcing, different days for taking pictures, and then I have about I try to do two, no more than three shows a week. Um, in terms for um sourcing, which I love to call treasure hunting, I I do it all. Estate sales, yard sales, flea markets, um, online, like eBay, um, Poshmark, um where else? Uh thrift stores. Oh my gosh, consignment stores. Everywhere. Wow. Everywhere. You cannot, you cannot just say, I'm gonna get my inventory from this one spot. No, you have and I have my husband to think. He will drive me like an hour, two hours away, just so that we could, you know, try different estate sales, different areas within Florida. Um, we've driven to Miami. Say if we have to go visit family, we'll make a trip out of it. We'll go to the flea market right before we go see family, um, or to different consignments, or if there's an estate sale.

SPEAKER_00

I am telling you, I am so that I'm so jealous of you people who have decent flight flea markets. Like, there are a lot of people on the app who go to these amazing flea markets, and I'm like, I would. die to have one of those near me. We don't have any. I mean ours is junk. Ours is just junk. It's it's not anything good. Yeah. I I I drove, I've driven multiple times. It's about 45, 50 minutes from me, the closest big flea market. And it is just junk. It is junk.

SPEAKER_01

And so well Florida, there's one every I know. I need a trip.

SPEAKER_00

I need a trip. I need to come visit you. That's that's what that's all about. Um so let me ask you this how do you know what you're always sourcing? You you don't go, okay, I'm down to 300 pieces now I need to source again. You always are always constantly buying how how do you figure this out?

SPEAKER_01

Constantly buying okay constantly buying um and then I have set days within my schedule um like Wednesdays I know that's an absolute sourcing day. You'll never see me do well let me not say never but Saturdays I know a lot of people like to do shows on that day but for me I am out because I know there might be a yard sale estate sale and now there's not estate.net or yard sale um yeah yeah I have it those two so I'll use those as well but um I am constantly I could never have too many too much inventory because you just never know you just never know so um yeah and then you're at this point I'm guessing that you are personally shopping and looking for certain people because you know who your clients are and you know what they like and you know what they're coming back for now.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah and I know there's a I didn't mention this another thing you have to also shop on the app whatnot right to support other sellers you have to support other sellers seller who's not a buyer I mean it's very very rare right I don't know anybody really yeah right so you want to support your friends you want to go in there and you want to get some of their items in um it's also fun to see how other people do their shows so um definitely whatnot but I'm constantly buying constantly buying um and I I don't know it's the thrill of it I love treasure I'm I'm waiting for okay I'm going through my questions again um you told me your husband is the one who told you about whatnot how did you hear about whatnot decide to I mean did you like stalk it out for a long time did you know a friend I mean like how how did that come into whatnot look I mean what was your first show like tell us about that craziness Miss Carrie craziness you know why um my husband found whatnot and really he wanted to do it we both wanted to do it with our daughter um because he discovered whatnot and I guess he because he's a guy who was on the gaming side right um that so he saw there were a lot of different sellers doing Pokemon and my daughter is obsessed with Pokemon.

SPEAKER_01

Oh really she is she loves Pokemon characters she has a little Pikachu stuffy um she has like a charm under her stuffy um but he's like you know what this looks cool and we're just looking for something that we could do as a family she's at that age being 10 years old where we're trying to do a lot of character building and we're honestly trying to um teach her about money she has her own money um she'll spend her money she has to do the math so on and so forth so we're like you know what you know some people do lemonade stands which we love that we've also done um vending in person but we know what the future looks like which is online so we're like why not why don't we just start why not no pun intended why not why not right take a whack yeah take a whack why not what not take a whack at it and here's the thing we had no I mean zero inclination of what it would entail to do a show um and we're like oh we have a couple of Pokemon cards let's just just go on there and say hi to the people oh my gosh Miss Carrie we started alive 30 to 40 people it's it's the most people it's the most right that we've ever had in one show I mean Funko and and Pokemon and all that is you know six and a half seven years ago is how it how whatnot started and it is insane yeah I'm with you it's insane but Miss Karen we did not even know how how to maneuver the buttons or anything like that. So we went into flu full blown panic mode. My daughter's like no Megan stop making stop like we're panicking we're going we're like we're gonna have to shut down the live we're gonna have to shut down the live it was pure chaos. So okay you know what I'm having just before I forget to tell you I am I am having on Saturday a one dollar show okay with what and free shipping free shipping 100% free shipping and and I'm doing giveaways and I have Pokemon cards oh we're there you might want to come yeah yeah I go on I go on at 10 so just after 10 a.m central time yeah yeah so book it and if you meant you you know come in say hey Carrie I'm here with my daughter I can throw up some Pokemon cards so oh she would love that that'd be great I had no idea so wait you that's how you started on the app was that one show or did you do multiple that one no then we started with toys so we did the one Pokemon where like maybe we might not put more than we did you so we did the one we're like this is too many people like we we we just need to put our toes in the water not full you know jump in and splash um so we then went to like stuffed animals um our page name was Toys R Us it's still up there but um we started with little stuffed animals and then slowly but surely my husband was exploring the app and he's like honey I know you love jewelry what do you think about doing jewelry I was like I I don't know much about it in terms of names or anything like that but I love pretty things.

SPEAKER_00

You did all you do yeah you do uh yeah so that's how we started on the side of jewelry so you did the one Pokemon show how many toy shows did you do before you decided I think at least 10 10 approximately 10 like seven eight nine ten right in that area right and I think for me listening to you one of the things that you have done and stuck with that after me being in 15 different categories I think small things are great. Pokemon I mean I started off with books and then I mean like but I've done I've done marbles I've done records I've done freeze dry food like all these different things but I think the longer I'm on here and just with the packing and everything little things if I could you know start over again and you know you you learn as you go but the fact that you Pokemon cards are so easy to ship stuffed animals are so easy to ship and jewelry is so easy to ship the other day I had a show I was on for two and a half hours just two and a half hours it took it took me about five and a half hours with somebody helping me to get that out. Oh wow it was only fifty it was only 15 orders but I mean 15 different people but it was a nightmare because it was big items it was glass items there was so much packing involved and it it's just a nightmare so honestly I've sold some of my jewelry on here and I I did sell jewelry for a bit on here not like long term but I love selling jewelry on here there's wonderful people it's easy to ship I just like so I think that's brilliant that you've never had to deal with the housing the big items and the packing and shipping and and it's it's it's a lot and it's it's really making me think and reconsider but I have no clue about Pokemon first of all or football cards or anything like that. And I can't seem to get a marble supply I look for jewelry here you know like I look but I think because I'm so close to Houston everybody and their dogs is reselling and it's hard to find the items so I think that's why I haven't gone jewelry all the way but I think yeah there's a lot I you know I know I got you I know I'd like to I'd love yeah hey hey babe start sending me supplies the thing is when it comes to picking something I think your husband was right though and he said you love jewelry honey you love nice things and I don't think you would be near to the seller if you didn't describe and show and you know hold it just the certain way so the light hits it and talk about all the details because you're very descriptive and and looking for everything and and telling people about it. And so I think that's a really good thing. I don't think it would be good or wise for anybody to come on the app and sell something that they don't care about or that are not passionate about 100 tenfold. Yeah yeah and so I think yeah yeah okay so let me ask you this as we wrap up here soon I think we've done pretty good I think I'm getting through everything um what is um one piece of advice that you would give to a newbie a newbie biggest piece of advice is consistency is key consistency is key you're going to have those shows where you only have one order I've had plenty of shows where I mean I've had zero orders and I was on for two hours.

SPEAKER_01

Wow but you have to remain consistent um and you just got to keep showing up for yourself.

SPEAKER_00

I think a lot of people we're in this fast food society where we expect everything to happen overnight but no hard work you still want to put it in you still gotta put it in yeah what you could in is what you'll get out eventually so yeah I mean that's I I say this all the time I say this all the time so it's great for other people to hear other voices say the same thing you know um okay so looking ahead you kind of alluded to this but you're planning on doing this full time long term like do you have financial goals do you have like what what do you what are your goals? What are your aspirations here? What do you think is gonna happen with whatnot and your show and the whole platform give me your take on all that I mean I've listened to your podcast alone and learning from you this is a one billion dollar business I mean there's room for everyone right at the table.

SPEAKER_01

And so overall right now I'm just setting minor goals in between everything. If I'm at 4.2k cells the next goal is going to be 5k then the next is going to be a 10 um so just small increment um type of goals but overall I want to do this full time um because for me ultimately uh I value and cherish freedom with my time um I've never in the nursing world I've had to have 12 to 16 hour days dates where I'm tending to patients um I haven't even had a bathroom break I haven't had a lunch so I understand what it is to you know give something my all right um but burnout is real so I ultimately what I would like is to have control of my time um I'm not looking I mean if I happen to be a millionaire off of this cool not knocking it but I just want comfortable living without the chaos and without my nervous system just being all haywire. Unfortunately in my line of work I've seen too many deaths I've held um too many just dire situations. I meet people at their worst where whatnot I get to be that spunk that possess of energy and just live life and um not to knock you know the hospital there's a reason for that and I I really believe that God has used me to um be that safe space for a lot of people um but I always tell myself the best way to honor all my patients is to live life to the fullest. So just to have that um freedom of time um to live comfortably um like to be able to you know pay where we live pay cars whatever groceries um if I could do this full time and I treat it like a a job I'm working five days a week um some days it's just go go go go go it's never ending but um I'm happy and my nervous system is finally regulated and I see inflammation in my face from all the stress and cortisol it's finally going down just because I have had to hold so much for others.

SPEAKER_00

And so this is the space where I get to hold well and let's let's talk about this just for a second because I think this is really important but you have created not only a schedule but like emotional boundaries if you will like non-negotiables like you're not gonna do 13 hour shows like I did the other day. You're not I did a 13 hour show a couple weeks ago uh it was it was one dollar starts free shipping and um giveaways and it was crazy so it was peer pressure I I caved to peer pressure we were gonna be on for like an hour and then it was two and then my assistant left I have an assistant and um it it it was it was crazy but I feel like the the more I'm on and the more I talk to people and all of that um your life does dictate how long you should be on whatnot how much time you should be sharing on whatnot how because it can be just like you're saying you were stressed out and now you're in a you're in a good space you know your cortisol levels are better you're regulated better you're not stressed out you're doing better but I will say I had a lady call me the other day almost in tears she was it was a consultation and she was stressed to the max she was pushed pushing and pushing and pushing and pushing and trying and trying and trying and she felt like there wasn't enough sales there wasn't enough money there wasn't you know and I think that one of the things that I really admire about you I'm just gonna yeah don't get your head too big here but is that you do prioritize your family life your mental health your daughter your cooking your cleaning all of that you've done what I talk about in the goals episode and the women's episode on here where you're balancing your life you're not going so balls to the walls that you're gonna be stressed out you've been there you've done that you don't want to do it again and so you're very very careful right I mean I don't you think that's really you've learned well I I have the word balance tattooed on my body.

SPEAKER_01

No you do not do you really do I do yeah it's on my fingers yeah I put balance um and then I always want to remind myself that everything in life is a balance you have to balance in order to find a happy place. As much as there are goods you know there's gonna be bad. Everything is ebb and flow. You have to balance and so for me coming from the world of oh my gosh like the healthcare system literally took over my life like I literally mentally could not clock out. Yeah I'm thinking about Charlie I'm thinking about the person who is diagnosed with cancer today or I'm thinking about you know the mom who passed away after delivering her baby. So I it's a lot of emotion it's a lot it's a lot but ultimately um it just depends on your personality too Miss Carrie you have a gift with people you have a gift I mean this Miss Carrie you give out your number freely wholeheartedly with no reservation just to be a helping hand that's a gift. Yeah me on the other hand I know on I'm a B. I'm a B personality on my best days I'm a B plus I'm an extroverted introvert so I need to reach hostage before I can give right all of that energy out. But some people are like you miss carry like I know that you could just you can go go go you have it in you to do that.

SPEAKER_00

I know but it's not but it's not but but see I think I can learn we can all learn from each other right but I think I can learn I think I'm learning from you and others right that that I should have stopped I I should have not done a 13 hour show. It was three it was listen girl it was 323 items and that's including big things glass things brass things like all that and it was it was about 110 boxes and it was two days with a helper to get it all out. So and I paid over a thousand dollars in shipping so it it was a lot and I mean I'm happy to just to say yeah I did it and I only peed twice just throw that up too I only peed twice during the whole show. So um that beats my record so I'm happy that I did it you know just for that kind of thing kind of like a marathon and I think I might I might do one of these per like month or something but I'm not so it it's helping me go. I don't think it's bad.

SPEAKER_01

I don't think it's bad because sometimes I feel like you need to know what you're capable of. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

You got to you realize something about yourself wow I can do 13 I don't know how many people could say that well and what's really crazy what's no but what's really crazy is my assistant was here and we were only going to do like an hour hour and a half because I was scared to death I I was scared girl free shipping is a big deal. I was scared but she had to go she had to get her kid to a baseball game or something like that. She left and I was by myself so not only did I do 13 hours I was by myself for 11 of that and everything was really really really good but it was insane. Everything was everywhere I ended up getting to the point where I'd tell people this is where your box is and as they were ordering things I'm like where are you? And they're they would type in I'm over by the fireplace on the right side of the fireplace because it was literally all in my entry my hallway like it was insane. So I mean but it's a community effort. Yeah yeah yeah but I I think I need to do and I keep trying I'm I'm I'm got a lot of personal stuff going on right now but the the scheduling I think is a really good thing and saying you know I'm thinking of this as a business and this is my business and that you know I think that's really good that you're doing that. And I think I think that you were going to go far. I think you're gonna get to your 5,000 sales you're gonna get to your 1000 sales you were going to keep climbing and keep growing because you were one of the best sellers in the jewelry department on the platform hands down. I don't take that lightly hands down hands down girls thank you so I I I also just want to give a shout out to Daniel because he even before we were talking before the show he's like babe babe can I take your packages can I drop this off for you so he he's driving you places he's doing packages and I I think we don't we don't need to take the kindness and the consideration of an assistant a family member a sister a husband whatever lightly because those are huge blessings in our lives and a lot of people I talk to they're one woman one man stands and and it's hard for them you know um so shout shout out to Daniel who is helping you and your daughter who is adorable and helping you and I I know I I I wish you the best I really do I I wish you the best and and the thing is maybe in another couple years we can do a follow up and see where you're at and how it goes because I think that would be so much fun to just I got super excited at that idea I guess that is yeah because I mean I think that's part of it especially for newbies coming on they're scared they're scared you know and and anybody who has done it for a while knows that it it can be a climate as you call it it can be a struggle bus. But it's worth it it's worth it it is worth it it is worth it.

SPEAKER_01

I mean you get back what you put in and then sometimes you get tenfold um I've seen people pay it forward I've seen the kindness I mean the world is a crazy place sometimes right and so this is a little happy corner you know a little happy place in the world um where you can really really um build your tribe um and just really have a place on the internet where you just you feel good and you get treasures and gifts

SPEAKER_00

Well, I appreciate you so much. And I thank you so much for doing this interview. And I cannot wait to drop it because I know within hours, hundreds of people are going to be listening to this. And in your next shows, hopefully they're going to come and order something so they can see these awesome boxes that you send out and just be a part of your vibe. So I wish you all the success. And let's try to touch base in another year or something and do a follow-up interview. Absolutely. Because I think that would be great. Okay. And if I and if I come down to Florida, I'm I'm hooking up to you, girl. I'm coming.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, let's do it. We're brunching and we're we're going shopping. Let's um also no, we're going shopping. Yeah. Um, but thank you. And thank you for my bracelet sizers. I always gotta point that. Thank you for the best bracelet sizers ever. Uh, Miss Carrie was supposed to be, she saw I had these raggedy, raggedy little ones from paper ones from Amazon. She's like, girl, we gotta get we gotta upgrade you.

SPEAKER_00

Upgrade you. And wait, let's just point out, I sent that to you for free. I sent her two bracelet sizers on my dime. She didn't pay me a dime because I felt she deserved it for what she did. So you're right. It was you paid for to me, I reciprocated, and here we are again. And I think that is what this community is about, that circle of love and that balance and helping one another out. And I think that's a really good testimony. And then I would come into your shows and you'd be showing everybody. Look at them, my eyes. But if it's it was the best color in everything, I need to hook you up and get you some more of them. Maybe you get me some jewelry and I'll get you some more bracelet sizers. We can make it happen, girl. All right. We can do this. All right. Well, I'm gonna drop this episode here in a few hours. And so go and share it out. Uh it'll have an episode name number next to it. So just remember your episode number because that's what these other ladies and well, if I get some gentlemen on here too, they have to remember your episode number so that when people come into your show, you can say, hey guys, go listen to my podcast episode, whatever. So that's how you can pass it on.

SPEAKER_01

Thank you so much. Thank you. This is fun.

SPEAKER_00

It was all right. Well, get back to work and we will talk to you later, girl. Have a great night. Bye. Bye bye.
