Hey guys, how's everybody doing? I hope you are doing well. I am doing a different kind of show today. I don't even know what I'm gonna call it, but it's an unboxing show. And I have done this on live shows before on whatnot. I don't know if you guys have ever seen a live unboxing show. And I did it just, you know, to give back to the community to talk about how boxes were good or boxes were bad or whatever. And um, the thing about it is the algorithm does not favor people who are not making it money, and um, so I stopped doing those. And in fact, just the other day I did a community show for just an hour telling people about the podcast and coming on and you know, just answering questions, whatever. But if people don't buy things in your show, the algorithm is just not happy the next time you do. So, that being said, I'm gonna do a podcast and tell you what I'm getting and tell you who I got it from and what it looks like. So, okay, the first box, here we go. Uh, the first box is from somebody called the vintage librarian. And guys, I love this lady. I just I love her. I I met her, I think because I have uh, I think in another lifetime, if I could be a librarian, I would definitely go back and be a librarian. It's it's not an easy degree, and I think that they're really intelligent people. I don't know if she's actually a librarian or if that's just her name, but um, it's vintage underscore librarian. I got two books from her, and um what's really crazy is I thought I got more. Uh maybe it's in another box. I think that's what it is. But they're better homes and gardens salad book and holiday book, four dollars each. It's wrapped in um newspaper, which is a really affordable way to pack your bags. You mean newspaper you can get pretty much um from your neighborhood, you know, uh different places, resale stores. They use it a lot of times because they have it as donations and and what have you. So um five stars for her. I love her. Checking her out once again, it's vintage underscore librarian, and it's two cookbooks. Yep, sure thing. Here I'm opening the next box. I'm really kind of confused because here's my second box. Hmm, and it doesn't say, hold on, let me see if it's the same girl. It is the same girl. This is okay, I'm very confused. It's another cookbook. Okay, I'm really I'm I'm wondering. So I got cookbooks from her, but there's no reason. I think here's what it is, guys. It must have been just a regular estate sale, vintage sale. And the thing is, if you are selling media books, like they go cheaper than regular books. Honestly. I'm looking, looking, yeah, I got three boxes from the same girl. Okay, this is not a good thing. Um, vintage librarian. I'm not gonna say your real name, even though I know it. Um she doesn't have her name of her store on her shop, which can be difficult for some people sometimes, because if you get a lot of things and you gotta give a review, then you get kind of confused because sometimes people don't put cards or you know, anything inside. Oh my freaking goodness gracious, guys. I'm gonna put this on my Instagram because this is one of the cutest things I've ever opened. It's from the vintage librarian. This is the third box. But vintage librarian, I am going to tell you that I am doing this episode, and I'm gonna tell you what I think you should do from here on out. Sell your books in a in a book show separately because I ended up getting three boxes from you, and you could have made your life so much easier. And either A, put all these together. I'm not sure why you didn't. Can't figure that out because I totally think you could have got it all in one box. So I'm still kind of perplexed on maybe you don't know how to bundle. That's maybe it. I'm going to call her and ask her because once again, I ended up getting one, two, three, four, five, six cookbooks, and they could have all, I'm gonna do it just for fun. Can all that fit in this box? Let's just do it for fun. Um, and a little um tin, a pie tin. Okay, so I'm gonna stick it all back in this giant box here and see if it'll fit. You want to try this with me and see? Dun dun dun. And I was a hundred percent right. I am going to message her because she needs to learn how to bundle, I think. Um, because she sent me three separate boxes: two cookbooks and one, three cookbooks in one, and then two or three cookbooks and a tin and something else in another. And you guys can make your lives a lot easier if you bundle your packages. But I gotta tell you what she made. It's the cutest little thing, guys. It's a freaking library card, and on the top it says author, vintage librarian, title, vintage worth checking out, and then it has all these due dates. I'm gonna put this on my Instagram. It's Carrie Kennedy71. I I'm really gonna work harder to do that and put more things on there. Oh my gosh, you guys, it's a fourth freaking box from the same girl. Oh my, I'm gonna message her like as soon as I get off this podcast. Because I was like, oh, I have five boxes here. I get boxes all the time. Sure. No, I think actually I have six one other item, but um, she could have easily bundled this. Here's another cookbook that would have fit, and that would have fit. She could have kept three boxes, put it all together, and I'm going to have to message her. Um, but great job, great seller. And if you guys don't know, man, okay, so basically when you're doing your orders up at the top left-hand side, you can alphabetize them A to Z or Z to A, right? When you do that at the very beginning of the of your uh of your going through your orders, you might see some that say four, you know, four boxes like this. But just because it says four doesn't mean you can't override it. So what you can do is go, oh, all this will fit in one box, and you get to decide and determine the size and everything. Um, so okay, I'm opening another one, and it looks really well organized, and everything is in here, but guess what? Oh, you know, it's hard sometimes when I tell y'all the same things time and time again, and people just don't do best practices. I have no idea who this is from. Like, it's a whole box full of all kinds of stuff, and I'll have to go on and try to figure out which person this is, and then give them a rating and a review. But like in this little talk right here, I can't tell you who this is. This person's gonna get absolutely no cut shout out because they did not put any kind of thank you, any kind of card, anything in there, guys. You want customers to come back, you want repeat customers. Well, then what you need to be doing is getting your name out there when you've got competition with everybody and their dogs on this platform. You need to be sending something out, even if it's a tiny business card, even if it's a handwritten letter, I don't care what it is. They did a hell of a good job backing, a hell of a good job. I mean, it's got bubble wrap and nice paper on everything, it looks terrific, but hey, no shout out, whoever you are. That could have been really good advertising for you, but alas, uh, you did not do what you should have done, and I'm saying it. All right, here we go. Next one. Um, so the only one I can call out right now is the vintage librarian. Okay, this is the next one, and uh I I he has his real name on here, but I think I vaguely remember he is a coin dealer and his name's Moe's coins or something like that. Hell, let's look it up. Um, because I got an ancient Roman Empire coin for my kid. Let me go look it up on here. I think it's Moe's Moe's coins. Let's see if we can find him. Yep, Moe's treasures. He's on at 330 today. It's Mo's treasures, and um, yeah, he sent me an ancient Roman Empire coin. It's just the coin in a little package, but it looks good. I'm gonna look it up. Um, I have a kid who is collecting coins, and we don't have any from the Roman Empire. So I spent 25 bucks on this in a heat of whatnot, fire in my belly. And uh, so I'll look that up, and that'll be a gift for uh Haven in the future. So, anyways, that's it. This is gonna be a really short episode. Let me think if there's anything else. I have a show tomorrow at um oh wait, hold on, let me finish. I think I got sidetracked. You're like, yes, you did. Okay, when you go in and you you can change it A to Z or Z to A, if there's four different boxes, you can click on the left-hand side, click, click, click, click, bundle all of those up together, then take your items and put them in the appropriate size boxes. If it's one box, if it's two boxes, or whatever. And I wish that whatnot would change this to pounds instead of just ounces. I just asked my phone, you know, how many pounds is 172 ounces, you know, whatever it's it's added up, and then you figure it out, and then you can adjust those two boxes. But nobody should be sending out four boxes when you can send out one. And trust me, I like I said, I love the vintage librarian. I just don't, I think she's fairly new and I think she didn't know about the bundling, and also the media mail guys. Media mail is so much cheaper for books. Um, if you are selling books, um, you should have a separate show because it just the shipping all along is cheaper. Now, I mean, I get if you don't have a ton of books and you're in estate sales or you're in garage sales or whatever um storage units, whatever, and you only have like three or five books and it's not a lot, and somebody's getting a few, but I got like six or seven books from her. And had we done it as books in a separate thing, my shipping would have been cheaper. And um, so you want to keep your shipping cheap for your your or less expensive, I should say, for your customers. So those are the only two things. But hey, high five to Mo's treasures and uh vintage librarian. Um, as I get more items, I might, you know, do another one of these unboxings. But um, I have so much inventory. Somebody messaged me today. Actually, I should I should read it to you um because I get messages and calls and such all the time. Let me go in here. Ah, here it is. I just think it's so sweet when you guys message me and it's it's uh an appreciative, you know, type thing. I really, really like it. So I'm gonna shout out who it was. Let me see. Let me go to it, cancel all messages. Here's what it is. I'm gonna read this to you because I just um here's what she said. She said, I just wanted to take a moment and thank you for featuring my show in your inside the shop snapshots number five, episode 69. I truly appreciate your kind words and your thoughtful feed feedback that you shared. I've already started implementing some of your suggestions. I removed the quote, no cancellations note, and I've ordered a phone stabilizer as well. The reason I use the random pull listings is because I have over 4,000 items in my store, but only about 100 are currently listed. I understand that buyers prefer to actually see inventory first, but since my shows are mostly run as random pulls, I keep those listings at the top, which I totally agree with, and you should do. I'm not exactly what I said in episode 69. Um, your podcast was incredibly helpful, and insights like yours genuinely helped me grow to into a better seller. Thank you again for taking the time to highlight my show. It means a lot warmly, Gail. And I wanted to give a shout out to her because this is the kind of attitude that I think all business owners need, which is an attitude of learning and graciousness and humility. None of us have arrived. All of us are learning, myself included. But when you can take the time to thank somebody for doing a critique of your show on a podcast, I think that speaks volumes about Gail. And I'm gonna tell you her her um little handle is Spirit Hatched, S-P-I-R-I-T hatched, H A T C H E D. So I've just given you guys three great sellers vintage underscore librarian, Moe's treasures, and spirit hatched. I highly suggest you guys go check all of them out. These are the kind of people that are getting the products out, getting good products, doing a good job. You should definitely check them out. That being said, I have a show tomorrow night, and I am I am working on listing too. Listing is hard. I swear. I have like I'm looking around the room right now. It is insane. I have thousands and thousands of items, and it just takes so much. Bentley wants to be picked up. It takes so much time and energy. I messaged back, I messaged back to Spirit Hatch. I said, Oh, that's so sweet of you. I appreciate you, and I'm glad um that you didn't take it as some terrible criticism. I am with you. I am inundated with so much inventory today and tomorrow. I will be listing. I'm uh I I get it, but half the time I only have 5% listed as well. My comment, I think, when I was talking in general, if you have the time, if you have the energy, you should list stuff. I was in some girls' show the other day and it was almost overwhelming. She had 900 some odd items, and I think that there's gotta be a happy medium. I mean, my thumb is gonna seize up going through 900 things, but I definitely see the hard work. Nobody can say that you don't have tenacity and grit when you're listing 900 freaking things. I mean, that's crazy. I think the most I've had is 565. And right now, today before my show, tomorrow, I'm planning on getting about 120 listed because I've sold so much, and it's just it is hard getting it all done. So, um, but anyways, guys, that's it for this show. Not a big episode, um, but I wanted to just do an unboxing because I do think it's important. And like I said, on the bundling, you just click the on the left-hand side. If you need help, there's uh you could probably go to my episodes on shipping. There's probably one about unbundling and bundling. Um, and I definitely think you guys should be doing that. You'll save money, you'll save time, you'll save boxes, you'll save postage. It just makes the world easier and better when you do that and you can combine boxes. Okay, that being said, I hope you guys have a great day. I don't even know what you're gonna do with yourselves with me doing an only 17 minute show, but it's gonna be that. So um, I hope you all have a great day and we'll talk to you later. Bye bye.
