Good luck Duck, "If you bring the duck, you bring the luck"
Good morning. It is April the 27th, 2026, and straight from the High Lake Caffeineta studio. This is Real Slot Talk with yours truly, Willie B. Now, tonight we're not gonna talk about jackpots. I know, disappointing. We're not talking free play, we're not talking tier credits. Tonight we're talking about each other. What does that mean? Well, because every casino has machines, but every machine has a certain kind of player sitting in front of it. And if you've ever wondered what your favorite slot says about your personality, oh tonight might get uncomfortable. So let's get into it. What's welcome aboard tonight? Let's I want to talk about because one of the things that I've noticed being in casinos is each there, there's just just we have our normal category of player, we've talked about those before, but I started noticing that there are different types of players for different types of games. So let's let's talk about it. So and I'm just gonna go ahead and put a disclaimer out there. If if I describe you perfectly tonight, don't get mad at me, get mad at your player's card. But I assure you, as always, when I do this stuff, when I'm pointing something out, if I'm pointing one finger at somebody, there are nine more pointing right back at me because I promise you I am guilty of so many of these things. And if you stay tuned to the end, I'm gonna tell you what kind of slot player I am and talk about taking one for the team. Just to let you know all my quirks when it comes to playing slots. Yeah, it's it's I should probably be studied by a psychiatrist, but let's get into it. Segment the segment one players are buffalo players. You know who you are, you are loyal, you're patient, and you believe that your moment is coming. A Buffalo uh player will play the same machine for two hours, and they always think that the herd bonus is overdue, and they will tell you the machine is warming up because buffalo players don't quit, they just reload, and I know this because my wife is one of these in just ingrained buffalo players. Um, that is her go-to machine. That will be the first machine when we get to Danville, that'll be the first machine she goes to play. Uh, is the the uh Buffalo back in the corner. And you know, and I've I've just recently in the last couple of weeks been able to kind of introduce her into Buffalo Link. And I think I've created a monster because as much as she loves Buffalo, and now it's Buffalo Link, yeah. Uh but she's I think she's quickly learning that the Buffalo Link sometimes is not quite as friendly as her regular Buffalo game where you have to collect the 15 Buffalo heads. That is her absolute favorite. But again, you know who you are if you're the Buffalo player. I love playing Buffalo, and I love the old school Buffalo, the one that had the wheel where you spun and you could gain uh you could kind of get a head start on collecting the buffalo heads. That was my favorite, but we don't have that at Danville. And I'm starting to see them see them less and less, so I don't know what's going on there. But all right, segment two players. Now, this is one that I'm guilty of, but the problem is a lot of these segments players I'm gonna tell you about, uh, I kind of have uh there's a part of that in me. Um, but I am when it comes to just unfolding who I truly am as a player, yeah, you're gonna be surprised at that one. But this is the lightning link players, this is Buffalo Link, this is Dragon Link, this is any type of cash link game, but mostly Buffalo Link, Phoenix Link, and Dragon Link. Now, those are my three favorite, those are my three go-to because you come for the action, and when you sit down, you want the hold and spin now. Uh, loud noises equals happiness, uh, bonus in the first five minutes, or it's betrayal. And it's it's all honestly. That's uh if you'll watch a lightning link player. Now I've noticed if it's Phoenix Link, they will stay married to that machine almost like they're an ex-Buffalo link, uh Buffalo player. But if it's Dragon Link or Buffalo Link, we will switch machines because if that machine's not working, then the one next to it's gotta be the one. But lightning link players are like microwaves. If it doesn't happen instantly, we're not happy. And that is me to a T, I promise you. It is hard for me sometimes if I sit down at a row of four Dragon Links and I pick the one that I want, or I pick the one that's open, and then the one on the end opens up, even if the one I'm playing has has been having some line hits. I start looking at the one on the end, going, could that one be better? How much is the major? Because you know me, I like to chase max out majors, and if it's got a max out major, I that's where I'm going. Um all right, so this is this one, the number three. This is also part of me, and I'm gonna tell a little side story about this one. This is the old school three reel, you know, you know who we are. The sevens, the diamond sevens, the triple sevens. The that's that's the old school. That is the supposedly, and I put it in air quotes, lower volatility machines. Mmm. I don't know about that. But you trust simplicity. That player trusts simplicity. No dragons, no moons, no dancing pandas, three cherries, one bar, three sevens, one lever. Let's handle business. These players probably still balance a checkbook. That's that's okay. That's okay, because like I said, I am guilty of loving the three real lower volatility. And I just tried them at Danville, and I'm learning that not all three real machines are created equally. They can still be, they can still take your money. It's a slot machine, that's what it's designed to do, and it did, it took a hundred dollars. All right, number four, machine hoppers. Now you know who these people are. I'm not as guilty of this one, maybe a little bit, but you are chaos in motion. Five minutes here, seven minutes there, and you're always thinking the next machine is the one. Now, that that line right there, that is me to a T because like I said, I can be at one machine and you get up from machine two doors down. I'm like, hmm. Now, here's the part that doesn't make sense to me. What it does while I'm in the casino, but then on the way home, I'm thinking, why would I want to jump to that machine so quickly when the guy that was sitting there or the lady that was sitting there just played for 30 minutes and never won anything, but yet that's the machine that's gonna hit. What kind of sense does that make? I don't know, but it it's it's very true. So uh this player doesn't play slots. We we speed date the machines. That's basically what it is. All right, number five player, the free play strategist. Now, I not really this because uh my free play is gonna be gone by the time I walk away from the ATM. I mean, it's uh it I'll hit I'll lose my free play just walking through the casino. But you're dangerous in a different way. You read the offers carefully, that's not me. You know the multiplier days, I sometimes do, and you always leave with a profit and a uh buffet coupon, uh if only. But you know, the thing about this player is the casino invited them in and then the casino regrets it because they're taking every oh, there's a free matchbook, I'll take that. Oh, there's a free golf tee, I'll take that. They're there for everything that they can take home with them. And I don't blame them. Uh, we should all be that way. Player number six. Now, this again is partly me. The high limit visitors, you know, the high limit room. Now, this category really has two different types. The type A, which is actually wealthy, and then the type B, which would be yours truly, the emotionally wealthy, and but sometimes after I've been beat up at the casino, I'm emotionally bankrupt. But if you've ever set in a high limit room and watched people play uh in the high limit room, it's it's interesting. Um, I my brain will not allow me to play that type of large bets. I I think it's cool to watch. Um, there's a lot some slot influencers that I love to play, and they they bet really big amounts. I'm like, that's cool. Uh, have you tried 250 on a penny? That because that's that's a good bet. Yeah, or maybe Max bet that penny. That that's there's your high roller right there. All right. Number seven, bonus chasers. Hey, that is yours truly, right there. We want excitement, we hate slow wins. A $14 line hit means nothing. Uh we need the fireworks, we need the coin showers. And the thing about I can literally hit a win for if I'm playing Dragon Link or Buffalo Link and I hit a win for $180, the only thing that means to me is hey, I can increase my bet and bet a little heavier for a little bit, and then all of a sudden I'm right back down to the $48 that I had when I started. So there is that. So this one describes me quite a bit, but it's not me to a T. So just hang tight. But this player would rather lose loud than win quietly, and I do believe that. All right, so here's one, and I know there's gonna be a lot of people pointing fingers, and it's okay, it's all in fun. But this is the seat saver. They hold a machine for a spouse, uh, they put a purse on a chair, they turn their chair upside down, sideways, wrong side out, uh, whatever the case may be. Uh, but they're saving the the machines by saying they always say someone's playing that, even though there's no machine or no card in the machine, somebody's playing that. And so I can tell you that that machine has more security than Fort Knox. I I can I can promise you, there's more security around that machine that has no money and no player's card than Fort Knox. And you know who you are. And I've been guilty of having a machine open up next to me and putting money in and then calling my wife and being like, hey, I've got a machine next to me if you want to come play this Dragon Link or what have you. And uh, if she says no, then I reach over, cash it out, and the machine's back open again. So I I there's there are some sides to the seat savers that I understand. So I I do. I'm I'm not that hard, hard nosed on wow, that you you can't do that, that's illegal. You you know karma's gonna come get you. No, that's that's not what I'm saying at all. All right. So let's talk about something for a second. The truth is, casinos aren't just about gambling, these things are people watching arenas. If you like to people watch a casino, is the number one place to go watch somebody. Uh, because there's hope, there's habit, there's excitement, there's routine, there's escaping stress, and that's why they fascinate people because we're chasing possibility. All right. So now we're gonna talk about another one that really has my name written on it, but not a hundred percent. So just stay tuned. So these are the lucky charm players. This is the lucky ducks, this is the lucky coin, the lucky shirt, the lucky ritual, whatever the case may be. Laugh all you want, but if the duck hits a hand pay, we respect the duck because if you bring the duck, you bring the luck. All right, here's one that's may not settle well with some people, but like I said, this is all in fun. Uh, this is the angry button smasher. Uh they hit the spin button hard, they complain every loss, they celebrate every six dollar win, but yeah, uh beating on the machine, smashing the buttons. Uh you know, I'm I'm gonna keep my thought process to myself, but I think all of you that are not angry button mashers, I we we pretty much unite on the thought process there. Because it just doesn't necessarily need to, you know, beat the machine up, even though we want to, uh, especially after after we lose. So now I I at the end of the day, every slot player is chasing something. Maybe it's money, maybe it's excitement, maybe it's a story, maybe it's just a break from life, and maybe that's why casinos stay full. So let me ask you a question. What kind of player are you? And more importantly, what kind of player do you think you are? And if I didn't mention a certain kind of player that you think of, be sure and let me know on our Facebook group. But I will say this I told you I would tell you what kind of slot player I am, and do not judge me, because I it's just me, it's who I am, it's what makes me who I am. Now, when I talk about a bonus chaser, you know I love chasing maxed out majors, but there is a process to this. And when I say that the good luck charm is more than just a lucky duck for me, when I go to the casino, any casino, any day, here's how things go every single time. I will have on my lucky shirt, I will have my lucky duck, I will have my lucky socks, I will have uh my bankroll in my left hand always, every single spin. If I hit a bonus, I don't move. I do get very animated, and some of you have called me out on how fun it is to watch me if I get a line hit or a bonus, especially a bonus. I'm very animated. I'm not very loud, but I'm extremely animated, and I'm just having fun. But I do believe in all the rituals. Uh, if if I hit a bonus, don't move. If you're whatever position my hand is in, don't move. Keep my bankroll in my left hand. Everything has to be the same. And like I said, good luck duck, good luck shirt, good luck socks. Uh, it's it's crazy. But it's what makes me me. And every one of us, if we look in the mirror, we have our own quirks, and you know what? That's okay because that's what makes each one of us who we are. This has been Real Slot Talk with Willie B. And I will see you at the ATM and I'll see you again right here next week on this big old mic. Have a great day, and bye bye.
