Good morning or good afternoon, whichever the case may be, wherever you are. I want to talk about my trip to Danville this week, but more than that, I want to give you a follow-up from last week's episode where we talked about Aristocrat's new Big Board Bucks Monopoly game. That's a mouthful, I'm telling you. But I did get to play it. I got there early so that I made sure I had an opportunity to play it to see if it lived up to the hype that we went over from Aristocrat last week. And I I gotta say, I'm gonna give them a big tip of the hat because the game was an absolute blast to play, even though it's a highly volatile game. But of course, I can't say anything because I play Dragon Link all the time. But it I'm just not a big fan of the cartoon games. But this one had so much animation and so many user choices. Uh, not that you could manipulate the game, but just it gave you a lot of choices, it made you feel in control of the game, and it was just a whole different experience. It it would I would say it is the same experience of play as the new uh link version of Huffin' Puff. And because that one is also a blast to play, even when you don't win on it, it's still fun to play. It's a lot more fun when you win, but there's that. But I did have a good trip to Danville this weekend. Uh, I got to meet a good buddy of mine, um Dave Walker, and he runs the Adultish Gaming on Facebook. Uh, you can go and check out their page. There any kind of casino information or anything of that nature, you can go check them out. But it's called Adultish Gaming on Facebook. Make sure you check them out. Absolute fun page to be a part of. And so I ran into him in the casino, so it was a great weekend. I didn't win a ton, but I didn't lose a ton either. So that's uh that's always a good thing. But I wanted to dive into this big board bucks monopoly game a little more after having sat down at it. You have a lot of options. I I want to say it's around 12 different options that you have that you can choose your token, just like in a real Monopoly game, to go around a board. And so, of course, I chose what I termed the good luck duck. Now it's silver, and the game calls it a rubber duck. Rubber ducks are yellow. Since it's silver, that means money. Money means luck. So therefore, it must be the good luck duck. That's what I went with, and that's what I'm sticking to. So I chose the duck, uh, put a hundred in, played one cent denom, one dollar bet, because I wasn't really trying to win a bankroll. I just wanted to see the bonuses and to kind of get a feel for how the game played. Second spin in, I hit the extra houses bonus, the green tower, which is in the middle. And I wound up and won about $63. I was like, wow, this is cool. This is this is a this is a good sign. So I went ahead and up my bet to two dollars. I thought, well, let's see what it does. Well, let me tell you what it did. It took the rest of my money until I got down to about $40 before I hit another bonus. That's another story. These games nowadays that have the perceived progression, which is the houses that get bigger, or hotels in this case, or the uh pots that get full of coins, or whatever the case may be. If it looks like it's full, then it's the perceived notion is it's ready to hit. This cannot be further from the truth when it comes to the big board bucks game. Monopoly. I'm just gonna say monopoly, the new Monopoly game. It seemed to not really grow as expected, like with other ones. Now I have seen pots of coins. I'll sit down at a machine and it would be empty, and you play and play and play, and the pot just gets to be incredibly overflowing. There's coins falling out on the ground, and it still doesn't hit. And so that's why I'm just not a big fan of the perceived progression. Although I will say that Phoenix Link took Perceived Progression to a whole new level, uh, with their little counter up in the same of Buffalo Link, where they have the little counter, and it must hit by 1888. You may die of old age and get to age 88 before it hits, but nevertheless, it's again perceived progression. So while the game had these faux pas that I wasn't crazy about, the uh slow progression um or the slow perceived progression, like the free games. So there's a a bar at the bottom with your icon that you choose, and then that's the free games meter. And it is the same emulation of the Buffalo games where it says the bonus meter, and it will literally get full within uh you know a good amount of spins, and then when it gets to a couple of inches of being full, it you know it it bounces back. It's like so I I'm not a I'm not a big fan of that. Um either fill it up or don't, or make the bar longer. I I don't know. I just it's just not my cup of tea there, but I never did hit the free spins, even though the bar was full the entire time I played. Uh I did hit the other two bonuses and they they paid rather well for a dollar. Uh I think excuse me. I think one of the bonuses, extra spins, paid me $81, and I believe the the other one uh paid about $72. So not bad for a dollar bet. So I I did walk away where I was up. I walked away with $103. So I played for 30, 40 minutes and walked away with all my money. So there's something to be said for that. But all in all, the game is a blast to play. Don't get me wrong. I mean, it has its it has its issues, just like any slot game, but it is an absolute blast to play. If you want to just play for a little while and play for fun, just go stick some money in there and play a dollar of spend and you can you can play for a little while, and it is an absolute blast to play. And then after you finish the bonus, it the little your icon goes around the monopoly board and collects the houses and the hotels and the money. And and it's it's really uh a great game that keeps you involved and keeps you immersed in the experience. And uh, so hats off to they did emulate the uh where in this bonus you get you have to collect the gold bags to get to grow the uh screen so that everything that lands in your block you you get to keep. Uh they did borrow that from the Mo Mummy. Uh you know, I I applaud them. I I I still think they did made good use of it while it felt like there was some emulation there. Uh it did still kind of feel different. Um it was it was a game all of its own. But a lot of different features in that game. It was just so fun to play. Uh, so I would definitely give it a 9 out of 10 on gameplay because it was an absolute blast. Uh, but next week we'll probably uh review another game and we'll we'll take a look and see see what else is out there new on the floor because there's so many new games coming out this year. Uh and some of them seem to be, like I said the other day, it's it seems to be a mirror image of another game that's already on the floor. But there are some games that are truly setting themselves apart, like the the Link Huff and Puff, and then now this Big Board Bucks Monopoly game. Uh wow, just an absolute game changer, no pun intended. Um, but that'll be for next week. We'll look at another game, and we're gonna continue this game series review. Uh a lot of getting a lot of positive feedback on these game reviews, and uh because you know, you you want to know. It's when you go to the casino, you're there for a limited amount of time, and it it's kind of nice to know it's like, hey, I I've been I've I saw so-and-so on social media talking about this game. Uh, I want to try that. Or I saw so-and-so on social media, and it was a horrible experience. I think I'm gonna pass that one by. So you have to make up your own mind on each game, and you have to remember to you know gamble responsibly because it is gambling, and that the machine is there to take your money or separate you from your wallet, so to speak. But I do have something very exciting coming up that I want to talk to you about and let you know this coming, and it'll be coming in the next few weeks. I was introduced to someone who passes out good luck ducks in another casino, it's totally separate from what we do, and it was not a mirror image in any way, and so her and I, one of my followers, uh, showed it to me, and I said, How cool is this? And so I reached out to her, and she is going to be a guest on this podcast in the next few weeks. I will keep you advised on the upcoming date because it is gonna be an absolute blast to have someone on the show. I do three different podcasts, I've never done a guest on the show uh of any of them, and I thought, no, we have to have her on the show as a guest because two people handing out good luck ducks, and we do it for the same reason. Because I've learned that these good luck ducks, while they may or may not bring you luck, they do bring a smile when you hand one out. Uh, and I've got to where I don't just hand them out to people playing slots, I hand them out to servers in the restaurants, I hand them out to uh different workers in the casino. And it's just it's just an absolute game changer in your experience when you go to the casino and a stranger reaches out and says, Hey, it looks like you could use a little bit of good luck. So you remember, if you bring the luck, you bring the I said that backwards. That is a faux pas on my part. If you bring the duck, you bring the luck. I got ahead of myself, but hey, it is what it is. There's can't I can never promise that there won't be a word salad or two along the way. But until I see you next week, uh probably in line at the ATM, remember to bring that good luck duck because the luck does come with the duck. You know what? Um we're just gonna quit while we're ahead, and I will see you again next week right here behind this big old mic in the highly cabinet studio. Until next time, have a great day, and I appreciate you listening. Bye bye.
