The fastest road I know to misery is focusing on myself--my feelings and failures, even my strengths and successes.  All the self-esteem building and self-care in the world don't give me peace and joy.  But losing myself in Someone bigger than I am does.  These passages help me see him:  Exodus 33-34, Matthew 27:27-56, Psalm 34:1-10, Proverbs 9:1-6.
