Welcome, welcome, welcome. This is Evangelist Linda Teresa Benjamin, creator and host of The Breakfast with Jesus. This is episode number 10 The Death of Christ. Coming from Scripture, Acts chapter 2, verses 23. Heavenly Father, thank you for this day. Inspire me to preach your word. Your promise is that your word will not come back to you void, but will accomplish your mission. The scripture today, Act 2, verse 23 states, Him being delivered by the determined counsel and for knowledge of God, he haten and by wicked hand have crucified and slain. After the extraordinary gathering at Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit descended upon the disciples, Peter boldly addressed the Jewish rulers. He accused them of crucifying and slaying Jesus the Christ, the promised Messiah. This pivotal moment highlighted the seriousness of the action and emphasized the fulfillment of prophecy. The significance of the death of Christ climaxed with Yahshua, climaxed Yashua's entire ministry. The clause at Calvary was his destiny, and every aspect of his journey pointed towards this profound sacrifice. His ministry revealed both the certainty and the purpose of his mission on earth. Therefore, this morning I want us to look at the greatness of his death in regard to the greatest sin, the greatest love, the greatest victory, the greatest force, and the greatest incentive. The greatest of Jesus' death is highlighted by the greatest sin ever committed, which was his crucifixion. The climax of humanity rejection of the Messiah. This event stands as the testimony to mankind's greatest sin. This is recorded in Acts chapter 2, verse 23, Matthew 26, verse 24, and the Gospel of Luke chapter 22, 23. Each one tells of this judgment of that betray, the judgment that comes with betraying such as Jesus. It says, Woe unto that man by whom he is betrayed. It went on to say, It is better that man was not born. And again, cursed, accursed be the leaders of that day for slaying the Son of God. Humanity, denial of Jesus as the Messiah and Son of God is regarded as the greatest sin and as crucifying of the Savior. Peter accused the leaders of the day of committing the most wicked act, the most heinous act, as they delivered Jesus first to Pilate, and then Pilate delivered them to him to the Gentiles for crucifixion. The reason that the Jews delivered him to Pilate because the Jews did not have the authority to do crucifixion and they wanted Jesus to be crucified. They even requested that Pilate release a murderer and instead condemn Jesus as a murderer. Clark commentary affirms that it was decreed that the Son of God must be sacrificed for the sins of the world. Scripture also proclaimed, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sins of the world. And it foretells that the seed of the woman heals will be bruised, but Satan's head will be crushed by our Messiah. Although Yahshua's death was ordained, those who acted in treasury will not escape the punishment. And similarly, those who reject the gift of Yahweh, which is the sacrifice of his beloved son, will also face consequence for committing such a heinous sin. The Messiah cannot be rejected without consequence, for he alone is the way, the truth, and the life. Secondly, the greatness of his death is revealed by his greatest love story ever told. This demonstrates the unparalleled love of God to us all. Romans 5 8 states, for God commanded his love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. While we were in an unlovable state, when we were doing the most heinous thing, Christ died for us. A lot of us think we have to clean ourselves up before we go to God. No, we can't do it. We need to go to God and then he will clean us up. We accept Jesus as a savior, repent of our sins, go to God, and he will do the cleaning, he will do the purging. He's a master putter, and he will mold us into what he wants us to be. God's love is sacrificial, is shown by giving up his only begotten Son to bridge the gap between the Heavenly Father and mankind. This act reconciles us to him and save us from the wages of sin, which is death. Such selfless and unconditional love allow God to love us regardless of our state. Jesus declared, I came not to call the righteous, but sinners unto repentance. Jesus did not come for the self-righteous, the ones who think they can do no wrong, the ones who sit high and look low down upon the ones who are sinning, the ones who are quick to point their fingers, the Pharisees of this world, the Sadducees of this world, Jesus did not come for you. He came for the sinners, he came for the sinners. He says, I come not to call the righteous, but the sinners unto repentance. He assures us that pardon to sinners who repent. He assures each and every one of us there's a if you there's a pardon for us if we repent. The key is repentance. You have to repent. That's the only way that you could say that ask God forgiveness and not repenting, it will not work. You have to have a repentitant heart. Offering grace and forgiveness instead of wrought. God is giving the sinners who repent grace and forgiveness of his wrath. He will hold his wrath and he will give you peace and comfort but repentance. Yahweh love the sinner, but not the sin. And we need to love the sinner and overlook the sin. Pray for them. We need to pray for the sinner. We are not holy, we cannot judge. God is the only righteous one, and he's the only one who can judge. Those who reject his agape love, given through the son's sacrifice, will face their just punishment. The righteous judge, Jesus the Christ, is the one who will be punishing you. Remember the woman he brought, they brought to him, and they wanted to stone him. And Jesus said, He who without sin cast the first stone. Brothers and sisters, we need to stop casting the first stone and look within ourselves. Look within ourselves, our sin. And go to God in humility and in confession and in repentance. Next, his death is the manifestation of the greatest victory. Because the cross was not a defeat. Yes, the cross was not a defeat. Satan thought he was defeating Christ when he had them crucify him. But no, the cross was not defeat, but a triumph over sin and spiritual death. Hebrew 2.14 states, for as much then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part in the same that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death. That is the devil. The devil had the power of death. But Jesus dying on the cross took that away from him. As adopted children of God, Jesus shared our human nature to taste death and destroy the devil, who held the power over it and crossed Satan's dominion. By dying on the cross, Jesus had defeated Satan's dominion here on earth. Jesus came to end the kingdom of Satan and establish his eternal kingdom for God's children to inherit eternal life. You see, Jesus came to take away the bondage of sin and give us eternal life. The incarnation, when the world became flesh and dwelt among us, and the crucifixion, Jesus dying on the cross, liberated mankind from the spiritual death and the bondage of sin. We can rejoice, we can be in jubilation at the death of our divine Savior. For his sacrifice redeemed us from the curse of the law. And he was made a curse for us. His death was the greatest victory, redeeming us not from with corruptible things, but with his precious blood, the unblemished Lamb of God, the unblemished Lamb of Yahweh. That is what he redeemed us with. Incorruptible things. Additionally, his death was the greatest force because the power of his death continued to transform lives since that day until now and also into the future. His death transforms our lives. 1 John 3 16 tells us, hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our life for the brethren. Jesus had set a platform, a pattern for the church to love one another and to come alongside the brethren, exhibiting selfless love by laying down our life for each other. Scripture has given us a long list of apostles, disciples, prophets, priests, and martyrs who lay down their life for the expansion and edification of the church and the glorification of Yeshua. Scripture tells us no greater love has no man than this that a man laid down his life for a friend. That's what Jesus did. He laid down his life for us as a friend. We must emulate Yahshua and be willing to love our brother as we love ourselves and as Yahweh loves us. We must be willing to encourage our fellow men and be charitable to each other. 1 Corinthians 13, 13 clearly states, though I bestowed all my goods to feed the poor, and though I gave my blood to be burned, and have no charity which is love, it profit me nothing. So all the donations you make, all the charity you support, if you do not do it in love, it profit you nothing. If you do it for accolades, and for people to say this is what he did and this is how much money he did, it profits you nothing. It has to be done in love. We must care for the well-being of others. We must be kind-hearted and forgiving and generous to each other. Because that is what Christ died on Calvary cross and set the example for us with his love. His love that passeth all understanding, his selfless love, his unconditional love. Finally, brethren, the greatest moment, motivation for Christ's death is that believers follow him in love, gratitude, devotion, obedience, and self-sacrifice. 2 Corinthians 5 14 reminds us, for the love of Christ constrains us, because we thus judge that if one died for all, then all died. Christ's death encouraged us to avoid self-indulgence, presumptuous sin, and worldliness. His death inspires us to obey God's commandment and to live a holy life as transformed individuals. We are born again. We have left the old things behind. We have leaved the old ways behind. We have leaved the old places behind. We do not speak the way we used to speak before. We are now a new creator. We have been transformed. It energizes us to worship Yahweh in spirit and in truth as new creation in Christ Jesus. It compels us to spread the good news of Jesus Christ. The good news, He came, He died, and He is risen. Reflection. Brothers and sisters in Christ, take a moment to reflect on the death of Yahshua and how it has transformed you and why it did not transform you. Reflect on Yahweh's unconditional love for you and how you have applied it to your lives and the lives of others. Reflect on whether you are being a living example of your Savior. Reflect on whether his death has constrained you from ungodly things. Discipleship. Children of Elohim, meditate on the word of God and let it take root in your heart and accept him as your Lord and Savior because he can heal you. He's a friend. He is a deliverer. Repent of your sins. Go to the cross of Jesus. There are millions have come, and there's still room at the cross for you. Come to Jesus. Come to Jesus. Gracious Elohim, King of kings and Lord of Lords, we praise and adore you and thank you for your marvelous sacrificial gift of your dear son Yeshua. Help us to accept him as our Lord and Savior and surrender our life to him. May the peace and grace of God, follow and fellowship of the Holy Spirit rest and abide with us now and forevermore.
