Welcome, welcome, welcome to Breakfast with Jesus. This is your host, Evangelist Linda Teresa Benjamin. And the topic today is the pole of great price, coming from the scripture, Matthew chapter 13, verses 45 to 46, which states, The kingdom of heaven is like a merchant man seeking godly pearls, who, when he had found one pole of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it. O Heavenly Father, speak to me and truly. You promise your word will not come back to you, boy, but accomplish its purpose. Let me diminish, let him hear you and not me. In Jesus' name, amen. The parable of the pole of great price has been interpreted in different ways. Some theologians believe the merchant represents humanity and the pole represented Jesus. This view is understandable because Jesus is precious, indispensable, and a rare pole. However, I am drawn to another interpretation. The merchant is Jesus, Yeshua, who came to seek and to save that which was lost. Luke chapter 19, verse 10. In this interpretation, the fine pearl represents the spotless church, the bride of the Blam, and a true believer of Yahshua. Therefore, this study will examine three key ideas, the merchantman, the pearl of great price, and the true course of obtaining the pearl. The merchantman, Matthew chapter 13, verse 45, described the kingdom of heaven as a merchant man seeking goodly pool. This merchant can be understood as Yahshua, the heavenly merchant and spiritual seeker. In Ezekiel chapter 34, verses 11 to 12, the Lord promised to seek for his flock, to search for his flock, to seek them out and rescue them. This is a powerful promise, sisters and brothers in Christ. Yahshua seeks us and rescues us from whatever condition he finds us in. Matthew chapter 18, verse 11 assures us that Yahshua came to save the lost. He is a relentless seeker who pursues sinner to the ends of the earth, searching for every lost soul as his precious pearl. He initiated a very first search when he called out to Adam, Where are you? In the same way, our merchant man Yeshua came down from heaven to seek and to save what was lost. His fine pearl, the church, the lamb, his wife. You see, the church, we are the church, and we are the bride of Christ. The pearl of great price. Matthew chapter 13, verses 45b describe the merchant finding a pearl of great price. The King James Version referred to it as a goodly pearl. The English Standard Version calls it a fine pole, and the New King James Version describes it as a beautiful pool. Together, these translations reveal that this pole is exceptional in quality, in beauty, and value. Spiritually, this pole represents the Church of Christ, the bride of the precious spotless lamb, and we are the church. Let's look at the making of the pole to see the preciousness of the pool. To understand this image, imagery more clearly, we can consider how a natural pool is formed. A pearl developed inside a living organism, such as an oyster or a mollusk. In Leviticus, such creatures, the oyster and the pearl, were considered unclean because they did not have fins and scales. In a similar manner, we were once unclean and sinful people who had fallen short of the glory of God, who disobeyed Yahweh, rejected the Savior, and wandered away from the right path. We were like the oysters, unclean. From irritation to transformation, praise the Lord. A pearl begins when sand or any other small worthless object enters the oyster, irritating and injuring it. In response, the oyster covers the object with an acri like a saliva. It covers it. Over time, what was once worthless is transformed into a beautiful pool. Likewise, when we were lost in sin, covered in the murry clay, the precious Jesus covers us with his precious blood, the precious blood from the spotless lamb, the sacrificial lamb, and transform us into a precious, priceless pool, made into a new creature. Through Christ, we receive spiritual resurrection. Our dead soul became alive from death, from sin. Ephesians chapter 2, verses 1 through 9 will tell you how we were transformed into this new creature, to this new birth. Yes, brethren, we are becoming precious pearls hidden within an oyster. As Philippians 2, chapter chapter 2, verse 12 teaches, we must work out our own salvation with fear and trembling through self-examination and reflection. Because we are covered by the blood of Christ, and Christ now lives in us. We are called to make our calling and election sure. We are called to make our election sure. Let's not disappoint God. We are his diadem of glory, purchased at his own possession, as his own possession. Ephesians chapter 1, verse 14, and Isaiah 62, verse 3 tells us that. We are a chosen people according to 1 Peter 2:9. We are a royal possession, we are his precious pearl. We the church, the people. Let's look at the cost of obtaining this pearl. In verse 46, we are told that when the merchant found out found one pole of great value, he sold all that he had and brought it. In likewise, when Yahshua found us in our sin, he recognized our value to the kingdom of God. He left heaven, he came down on earth as an ordinary man and laid down his life to redeem and reconcile us to the Heavenly Father so that we can have we gain fellowship with our Heavenly Father. He gave up the riches of heaven and became poor for our sake. Being born in a manger, he is a son of God, but he became the son of man. He humbled himself, walked the earth in human form, died on Calvary Cross, rose on the third day, just to save us from eternal damnation. That is the price he paid for our full. Yeshua purchased us not with money, but with his precious blood, his life, because he gave everything for us. Just as the merchant man sold everything he had to buy this full, that's what Jesus did for us. He gave all his life for us. He surrendered everything for us. We are called now to receive his gospel, accept him as our Savior, serve him in spirit and in truth, and follow his example of holy living. 1 Corinthians chapter 6, verse 20 reminds us that we were bought with a price. Therefore, we should glorify God in both body and spirit and live as his servant. We are born, we were redeemed to be possessed by Jesus. We are a purchased possession. We as a church is purchased, a precious pool with beauty called to reflect the glory of God. Yeshua brought us with his own blood. Yes, brothers and sisters in Christ, we were bought with a price. The price for that pool. In conclusion, Yahweh and the Holy Spirit has worked within us, transforming what was once a worthless piece of crap inside of an oyster into a priceless pool fit for his kingdom. Yahshua suffered and died a cruel sacrificial death to save us. Through him we receive eternal life and the power to become sons and daughters of the most high and almighty Yahweh. He paid the price and he paid it in full. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life. Therefore, yield your heart to him, for he is a merchant man, our spiritual seeker, our savior and our God. He was pierced for our transgression and crushed for our iniquities. Reflection. Think of our Savior as a heavenly merchant, calling at your door, knocking. Are you willing to hear his call and open your heart to him? He is searching for you. Reflect on that. He's searching for you. He's searching everywhere. The Bible tells us he left the 99 and 9, 99 to go for that one lost sheep. And you are that lost pearl that he's searching for. Reflect on that. Call to discipleship. Listen to the call of Yeshua. Open your heart to see him and his hand and with his hands outstretched, inviting you to come to him for peace, for healing, and for deliverance. Accept him as your Savior and follow him as your disciples. Let's pray. Heavenly Father, we glorify your holy and righteous name. Thank you for being the spiritual merchant who deliver diligently seek us and always initiate the search for our souls. Without you, we are nothing. We thank you for your grace and your mercy. Heal those who need healing, comfort those who are sorrowful, strengthen the weak, and bring peace to the war-torn nations. In our mighty name, Jesus. And may the grace of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit rest and abide with us now and forevermore. And let the church say amen. Amen and amen.
