Wellness Wednesday: The Body Keeps the Score (05.06.26)
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
We spend so much time focusing on mindset…Pushing through… staying positive… showing up…
But here’s the truth:
👉 Your body is keeping track of everything.
Stress.Lack of sleep.Emotional strain.Overworking.
Even when you think you’re “handling it”…Your body is still processing it.
And eventually—it speaks up.
* Feeling wired but tired
* Low energy
* Brain fog
* Trouble sleeping
* Just feeling… off
Sound familiar?
Here’s the shift:
👉 Instead of pushing harder… start listening.
Ask yourself:What does my body need right now?
* More rest?
* Better fuel?
* A short walk?
* A moment to reset?
Because your body isn’t working against you…
👉 It’s trying to support you.
And when you take care of your body—your energy improves… your focus sharpens… your business benefits.
You don’t have to override your body to succeed.You need to support it.
Good morning, everyone. Welcome to the 6 a.m. call. It is Wednesday, May 6th, and as always, Robin and I are so glad you're here. Taking even a few minutes to start your day with intention can make a huge difference, and we're so grateful that you do that with us every day. Today I want to talk about something that impacts everything: your energy, your mood, your focus, your business. And it's this idea. Your body keeps the score. There's a well-known book called The Body Keeps the Score by Bessel Vanderkoek. And the core idea is simple. Your body remembers what your mind tries to move past. Stress, pressure, emotional strain, and the book focuses a lot on trauma. Even when you think you're handling it, your body is still actually processing it and hanging on to it. And I'll be honest, this has been a real learning curve for me personally. There have been times where mentally I felt like I'm good, I've got this, I'm pushing through, but physically I'm not sleeping so well, I'm feeling wired but tired, my energy's off, and sometimes I'm a little more reactive than I'd like to be. And it's made me realize that you can't override your body forever. At some point, it's going to ask you to pay attention. And I think a lot of us, especially in real estate, live here. We push, we perform, we show up for everyone else, but underneath that, stress builds, our cortisol gets dysregulated, sleep gets disrupted, digestion is way off, and hormones get impacted in a huge way. And then we wonder why we feel off even when we think we're doing everything right. So instead of ignoring it or pushing through it, what if we started asking ourselves, what is my body trying to tell me? Not in a big, huge dramatic way, but in a curious kind of supportive way. Because your body is never working against you. It's always trying to protect you, it's trying to communicate with you. So let's make this really simple and actionable. Here are a few things you can check on to support your system. Sleep. Are you waking up feeling restored or are you still exhausted? Stress, are you building in even small, are you building in even small moments to reset, like taking a walk, breath work, pausing? And on your nutrition, are you giving your body what it actually needs to stabilize energy? Movement, even light movement can regulate your nervous system. And if you need help with these areas, please reach out to us because at Badass Coaching, we um we focus on health coaching as well as real estate and small business coaching. So sometimes the answer isn't to push harder, it's to support yourself better. Because here's the truth: you can have the best grips, the best strategy, the best plan, but if your energy is off, it's going to show up in your conversations, in your confidence, and in your consistency. Your body is not separate from your business. It's the foundation of it. So today let's just ask where might your body be asking for a little more support right now? Not perfection, not a complete overhaul, just one small adjustment. Maybe tonight you can go to bed a little earlier, maybe take a short walk, pausing instead of pushing forward, or asking for help or support from friends or a coach or any or a therapist for that matter. Because when you start listening to your body, everything else starts to work better. So take care of yourself today, not just mentally, but physically too. Because when your body feels supported, you show up better everywhere. Have an amazing day, everyone. We'll see you back here tomorrow. Robin will be on the mic, and in the meantime, have a phenomenal day. Take care of yourselves, and we love you.
