Sometimes it’s not a lack of motivation… It’s a lack of protected energy.
We leak energy in more places than we realize:
* Unfinished tasks
* Difficult clients
* Constant notifications
* Saying yes when we mean no
* Poor sleep and stress
* Relationships that drain us
* Cluttered calendars and cluttered minds
And the truth is — energy leaks quietly steal momentum.
On today’s 6:00 AM Call, we talked about becoming more intentional about where our time, focus, and emotional energy are going.
Because growth doesn’t always come from doing more.
Sometimes it comes from eliminating what’s pulling you away from your best self.

A few reminders:✨ Protect your mornings✨ Simplify where you can✨ Finish what’s lingering✨ Fuel your body well✨ Audit who and what drains you✨ Stop carrying what isn’t yours.

Your energy is one of your greatest business assets. Guard it wisely.

All right, good morning, everyone. It is 6 a.m., Friday, May 8th. This is Lee McGuinness. And as always, Robin and I are so glad you're here. Taking a few minutes to start your day intentionally before the chaos of the day begins. And happy Friday, everyone. We got through another week. Well, another week today week, because I know a lot of you are going to be busy working this weekend with buyers and sellers and open houses, et cetera. So today I want to talk about something that I think affects almost everyone, especially in real estate leadership, any entrepreneurship, and honestly just life right now. And that is where are you leaking energy? Because a lot of people think right now, and I've heard it, I need more motivation, I need to work harder, I need more discipline. There are so many people that I'm working with right now that are just kind of wondering what's going on and why they feel so sort of discombobulated and disorganized, even though they are pretty organized because we've been working on that for quite a few months now. And I think the answer is you don't always need more energy. And so think about this for a second. How much energy do we lose every single day to things like unfinished tasks that are kind of in the back of your mind all the time, avoided conversations, difficult clients, overthinking, clutter, constant notifications popping off on your phone, worrying about things we can't control. This is a biggie, replaying conversations in our heads, people who drain us emotionally, and saying yes when we really should say no. And the crazy thing is that a lot of these leaks become so normal in our day-to-day life that we don't even notice we're doing them. But our body notices, our nervous system notices, and this is back to the topic that we started on Wednesday. That low grade exhaustion that so many people feel, sometimes it's not from doing too much physically, but it's from carrying too much mentally and emotionally. And let's be honest, real estate can create a lot of energy leaks if we're not careful. And you know what they are: those buyers that you've been driving around for months and months who won't make a decision, sellers who won't price correctly. So that's always in the back of your head in this market is this thing gonna sell? A transaction that feels shaky, a client texting at all hours, deals falling apart, trying to save every single person, and trying to manage everyone's emotions. And one thing I've had to learn, and I know a lot of you either have learned or are learning too, is that not every client deserves front row access to your nervous system. Now that doesn't mean we stop caring because we do care and we always care. But what we need to remember is this phrase we talked about months ago, which is care deeply, stay neutral, and guide professionally. Because when we become emotionally entangled in every outcome, we exhaust ourselves. And energy leaks don't just affect your mood, they affect your leadership. They affect your patience, your focus, your consistency, your confidence, your creativity, your decision making. When your energy is constantly scattered, everything feels heavier. Even simple tasks feel overwhelming. And sometimes people think they're lazy, but they're really just overloaded. So what do we do? Awareness is always 90% of the battle on all of this. So we start paying attention and identifying the leaks. Ask yourself, what is draining me right now? What conversations am I avoiding? What decision needs to be made? What boundaries need to be set? What task keeps following me around mentally? What relationship or situation is currently taking energy from me instead of adding it? Because unmade decisions consume energy. Avoided conversations consume energy, and chaos consumes energy. And sometimes the most productive thing you can do is just close the loop, make the call, send the email, clean your desk, say no, create the boundary, simplify the schedule, and just let some or let something go. So I want to leave you with this thought today. Maybe growth in this season isn't about adding more, it's about eliminating those leaks. Protecting your peace is not selfish, protecting your energy is not lazy, it's leadership. Because the more grounded, focused, and emotionally clear you are, the more powerful you become for your clients, your family, your business, and yourself. So today ask yourself, where am I leaking energy? And what's one thing I can do to stop it? I hope you guys have an amazing weekend. T G I F. We'll see you too. Well, not we're not gonna see you tomorrow. We're gonna see you Monday on the 6 a.m. call. Robin will have the mic, and um I hope you all have a fabulous, productive, and hopefully some rest somewhere in the weekend. Love you guys.
