AI can pull the comps, but it can't tell you which house backed up to a busy road, which basement felt dark, or which neighborhood has that feeling buyers will pay for. This episode draws a clear line between what technology should handle and what only you can — and how to stop letting shiny objects drain the energy your business actually runs on.

Good morning. Happy Monday. Welcome to your 6 a.m. call, where we choose growth before the rest of the world wakes up. Today I want to have a conversation around AI technology and something that stood out to me while finishing the book, Leverage Your X Factor, by Wendy Forsyth. I have done many calls about her book, but I find so many nuggets to be so relatable. So today I'm going to go over a part that she talks about using technology without losing your soul. I loved that line so much that I said, I need to do a call on that. As realtors and as business operators, I think this message is incredibly important right now. Using technology without losing your soul. Because every single day we are hit with another shiny object, especially right now in all of the AI. If it's another CM, another AI platform, another subscription, another ad telling us, this will change your business. This is the future. You need this now. And before you know it, you've got 50 subscriptions, 20 more passwords, 10 systems, and somehow you feel more overwhelmed than productive than when you started. She talks about avoiding the shiny object syndrome. Totally guilty here. I have so many apps on my phone. I probably need to clear up my phone. And honestly, I think so many people in business are struggling with this right now. The shiny object syndrome. Because the goal is not to use all the technology, the goal is to use the right technology the right way. You do not need every tool. You need a few tools that truly support your business and protect your energy. Because technology should simplify your business and not complicate it. One of the best questions she encourages us to ask is what is draining my energy? Not what's trending and not what is everybody else using, but what tasks are pulling my energy away from the highest level version of myself? Because that is where AI can help. Maybe AI helps organize your listing prep. Maybe AI will draft your social media captions. Maybe AI summarizes showing feedback. Maybe AI can help create a CMA framework. And maybe it helps organize your database notes and follow-up systems. And if that saves you two hours a day, then that matters because time is energy and energy matters. The point of technology isn't to replace you, it's to free you up to be more of what humans do best. We are best at relationships, leadership, connection, empathy, hospitality, and listening between the lines. AI can give information, but humans create that trust. And I was thinking about this with the CMAs as one relatable option. AI can absolutely pull numbers, it can show trends, your average price per square foot, historical data in the neighborhood, market movement, but you, the human agent realtor, you know how the home backed up to a loud, busy road like Route 7. Which seller overpriced from the beginning? Which basement felt dark? Which home smelled heavily like pets? Which upgrades buyers emotionally are connected to? Which neighborhood has that feeling that people pay for? AI gives data, but realtors give context. And context changes everything. So instead of chasing every shiny object this week, maybe ask yourself these three questions. What task drains my energy? What task pulls me away from my relationship and revenue business? What tools actually simplify my business instead of complicate it? Because sometimes growth isn't about adding more, sometimes it's about streamlining better. And I want to end with this powerful reminder from the from the chapter of this book because I think it says everything perfectly. In a world overflowing with artificial intelligence, authentic intelligence becomes priceless. Your voice, your presence, your perspective, your leadership, and your heart. These are not replaceable and these are not replicable. These are your competitive advantages. Your humanity is not something to hide behind technology. It's something to elevate through technology, and that is intelligent authenticity. I hope that you have an amazing Monday, everybody. And think about where your energy is being drained and how you can streamline that through AI but continue to throw show your authentic self.
