This morning we talked about the importance of creating a spiritual foundation before the world starts pulling at your attention.
For some people, that might look like prayer, meditation, journaling, reading scripture, gratitude, quiet reflection, a walk outside, yoga, breathwork—or simply sitting in stillness with your coffee before the chaos begins.
The point isn’t perfection.
The point is connection.
Because when we start the day spiritually grounded, we tend to move through challenges with more peace, clarity, patience, and perspective.
We also talked about how easy it is to drift away from these practices when life gets busy, stressful, or painful—and how important it is to gently return instead of waiting until we “feel ready.”
A few reminders from today’s conversation:
✨ Your morning sets the emotional tone for your day
✨ Consistency matters more than intensity
✨ You don’t need a perfect routine to reconnect
✨ A grounded person leads better, loves better, and handles pressure better
If you already have a morning spiritual practice, keep protecting it.
And if you’ve fallen away from one, today is a beautiful day to begin again.
All right, good morning, everybody, and welcome to the 6 a.m. call. It is Friday, May 15th, halfway through the month of May. I can't believe it. Yeah, it's the 6 a.m. call, and as always, Robin and I are so glad you're here. My name is Lee, and I know that taking even just a few minutes to start your day with intention can make a huge difference. In fact, we're going to talk about that a little bit today. And we're so grateful that you choose to do that with us every day. Today I want to talk about something a little bit deeper, not really productivity or lead generation or more social media strategy. I want to talk about having some kind of a spiritual program in the morning. And before anybody gets nervous about that word, I'm not talking about religion. I'm not talking about perfection. And, you know, for some people, maybe faith and prayer are part of it. But what I mean is really like what anchors you to yourself and to something bigger than you before the world gets to you. Because if we're not careful, most of us wake up immediately immediately hand our minds and nervous systems over to chaos. You know, we grab the phone, we check email, we start looking at social media, scrolling, we start reacting before we've even taken one intentional breath. And honestly, sometimes it feels good to do that. But then we wonder why we feel anxious, scattered, you know, emotionally reactive, why we're discouraged or exhausted before the day has even begun. I've started to realize that as I watch grounded people, you know, people that really kind of walk through the world the way I would like to, that they always have some sort of grounding practice in the morning, something that reconnects them to themselves, to God, to peace, to gratitude, purpose, before the demands of the world start pulling at them. And the beautiful thing is it doesn't have to look the beautiful thing is it doesn't have to look the same for everyone. For one person it's prayer, for another person it's meditation, and maybe it's reading scripture or devotional work, and maybe it's journaling, could be breath work or yoga or just a quiet cup of coffee and 10 minutes of silence before the rest of the house wakes up. Could be walking outside and looking at the sunrise. Or maybe it's simply asking yourself, what version of myself do I want to show up today? But I think we all need something, especially in this business, because real estate can throw you around emotionally if you really let it. We know this. Deals fall apart, clients disappoint you, people ghost, comparison creeps in, oh my God, that's the worst one. Fear creeps in, even worse. Scarcity and stress can build quietly. And if we don't intentionally reconnect ourselves every day, we start living completely reactive lives. So I also want to say this for anyone listening who used to have a strong spiritual practice and feels disconnected from it right now that there's no shame, life happens, stress happens. Sometimes we drift, but we can come back. Sometimes the answer isn't working harder, it's just reconnecting deeper. And honestly, your spiritual program does not have to be elaborate to change your life. Five intentional minutes can shift the entire emotional trajectory of your day. A few deep breaths, maybe a gratitude list, a prayer, a walk, a journal entry. Just reading one page of something inspiring instead of consuming bad news can help. These little things become big things when we do them consistently. And, you know, before you touch your phone in the morning, touch your spirit first, even if it's not perfect or messy or you're trying to build something. For those of you who already have a strong morning spiritual routine, first of all, congratulations because I know that consistency takes intention. But also, I'd love for you to share it. Um, every morning after these calls, we post a little recap in case you missed it on social. And it would be awesome if you would share what it is you do in the morning because people need examples right now. You never know who might need it and say, Oh my gosh, I want to try that too. And maybe the goal here isn't becoming perfectly spiritual people, it's just becoming a little more centered, a little more intentional and connected. Before we lead anything else as well, we have to lead ourselves as we know. So I hope this gives you guys something different to think about. Um it's something that I've been working on lately, and uh I hope it triggers you guys to think, and I really hope that you'll share on social what you're thinking about this because um I need the ideas too. So I hope everybody has an amazing day. Happy Friday, have a fabulous weekend. We'll see you Monday on the mic. We love you guys so much, and thank you.
