Today we talked about something that doesn’t get discussed enough in high-performance spaces:How to give yourself grace during heavy seasons.
Sometimes life feels overwhelming.Stress builds up.Energy drops.Motivation disappears. And when you’re someone who’s used to showing up at a high level, it can feel frustrating when you’re not operating at 100%.
Doing what you can while carrying something heavy.
We talked about the importance of:
• Cutting yourself some slack
• Taking care of the basics
• Finding small things that soothe your nervous system
• Going to your happy place or doing a happy activity
• Resting without guilt
• Remembering that setbacks do not erase progress

And maybe most importantly:
💛 You are loved.
Not because of your production or performance.
Just because you’re you.

A difficult season does not define your future.
This is a season — not forever.
“Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes… including you.” — Anne Lamott

Hi, good morning. It's 6 a.m., a Wednesday, May 20th. And uh welcome to your 6 a.m. call. Robin and I are so grateful that you're here with us. Taking time to start your morning intentionally really does matter, especially during seasons when life feels a little heavier than usual. And honestly, I think today is one of those conversations that a lot of people might need. So I wanted to make sure to talk about it. Because sometimes in life, and definitely in business, we go through stretches where things just feel kind of hard. You know, I don't know why. Maybe you're carrying some stress or you're exhausted, or something personal has taken the wind out of your sails. Maybe you're disappointed, overwhelmed, emotionally drained, not sleeping well, or just trying to hold everything together. And when someone who's driven, productive, and used to performing at a high level, like you, those seasons can be especially frustrating because the instinct is to push harder, do more, just get over it, snap out of it. But sometimes the healthiest thing we can do is recognize that we're human before we're productive. And this is Wellness Wednesday, by the way. So we're focusing on wellness in heavy times. I think one of the biggest lessons for high achievers is learning that not every season is meant for acceleration. Some seasons are about stabilizing, healing, restoring your energy, protecting your peace, and doing what you can while carrying something heavy. And that doesn't mean you're weak or you're failing. It means you're actually alive. So congratulations, you're doing it right. You are still valuable on the hard days. You're still growing during the quiet seasons. And just because life feels heavy right now, if it does, doesn't mean you're off track. A bad week doesn't erase years of growth. A setback doesn't cancel your future, and exhaustion is absolutely not a character flaw. Sometimes you just need a little grace, a little recovery, a little compassion for yourself. And honestly, a lot of people don't need more pressure right now. They need permission to breathe. So maybe today you needed to hear this that you're loved, and you are very much so, by Robin and I, and I know by many others. Not because of your production, not because of your performance, not because of how much you accomplished this week, but just because you're you. And there are people in your life who are grateful that you're here, even if your brain is too tired or overwhelmed to fully feel that right now. So if you're in one of those seasons today, let this be a reminder that number one, you can reach out to us anytime. We're always here for you. But also to take care of yourself, cut yourself some slack, do what you can, forget about what you can't, find moments that soothe your nervous system, and do the things that soothe your nervous system. Go toward what feel what go towards the things that feel grounding, peaceful, safe, and restorative. Trust that your energy will return, and it will, it always does. Trust that momentum can be rebuilt, and trust that hard seasons are temporary. You are allowed to have difficult days and still believe in your future. I want to thank everyone for being here with us this morning. We appreciate you. We love you so much, and we'll see you tomorrow on the 6 a.m. call. Robin has the mic. In the meantime, if you're having a heavy season, I hope you cut yourself some slack today. And if you're not, be grateful and go do the thing. Take care, guys. See you tomorrow.
