The agents who win this summer aren't the ones waiting for the market to shift or confidence to show up first. They're the ones executing right now, one possession at a time. A fired-up Thursday episode that connects NBA playoff resilience straight to your real estate game — with a challenge to treat today like game two.
Good morning, everybody. Happy Thursday and welcome to your 6 a.m. call, where we know a solid morning routine sets the tone for the rest of the day. So let's go. Right now, we are in the NBA playoff season. If you watch the NBA, this is very exciting. If not, you should watch it because the energy is so high. The playoff season is where the top NBA basketball teams face off in the series, game after game, and every and as we know, and if you don't know, in any sport, every possession matters. It's not about one lucky win, it's about consistency, adjustments, resilience, and performance under pressure. You have to win a series and not just a game. And once you win that series, you go off to the next series, which is the final series. And in our house, right now, the NBA playoffs is a big deal. My husband is a huge New York Knicks fan. He stayed up late the other night to watch game one of the Knicks and the Cleveland Cavaliers playoff. Game one. And if you heard about that game, it went into overtime. The Knicks were down by 22 points in the fourth quarter. 22 points. That's quite significant. Most teams would have mentally checked out. Most people would have turned the TV off. And I bet you some fans actually already started to leave the game early, even though they paid top dollar for those seats. So in this scenario, who gave up on who? Because had they stayed, if we kept the TV on, the Knicks didn't just come back. They won by 11 in overtime. That's a 33-point turnaround. And now they're up by the series one to zero, and game two is tonight. We will definitely be watching. So here's the set that really puts it into perspective. Until that moment, most teams down by 22 plus points in the fourth quarter of a playoff game were basically written off. But the Knicks, they kept executing one position at a time. And I want you to think about that. Because if we claim today's season as realtors, the second half of the second quarters as being our playoff real estate season, how would you look at that differently? How would you tackle that differently? Today, May 21st until the end of June, June 30th, think about this as your playoff season. This is where it counts. So let's talk about it. What will your stats be for week one of your series? Congratulations, my friends. You have made it to the real estate playoffs. So what's next? Not that what you hope happens next, but what do you plan to do next? What will you actually do? How many calls will you make? How many conversations will you make? How many appointments will you go on and your follow-ups? And how many opportunities will you have created? Because in the playoffs, stats matter, execution matters, and this is where resilience comes in. I've been reading a lot lately, and the word resilience keeps coming up. So I was reading the May and June issue of the Success magazine, and the entire theme for the whole issue is resilience. Then I went back and tell Leverage Your X Factor by Wendy Forsyth, and her last chapter is all about resilience. And it all re reinforces the same idea. Resilience isn't about just bouncing back, it continues, it's continuing to build, and even when things get hard. Then I read an article by Glenn Sanford, and he called it something powerful. He calls it the resilience advantage. And he said this I invite you to reflect on your own relationship with resilience. What constraint in your life might actually be pointing toward your next breakthrough? Where have you been waiting for conditions to improve instead of building despite them? And what would become possible if you treated your biggest challenge as your biggest opportunity? The world rewards those who build through the storm, not those who wait for clear skies. So that's it right there. Because in real estate, it's easy to wait. I'll go harder when things pick up. I'll show up when I feel more competent. I'll do more when the market shifts. But the agents who win, they don't wait for clear skies. They build through the storm, just like the Knicks. They didn't wait for the scoreboard to change, they didn't wait to feel competent. They stayed in the game long enough for the momentum to shift. So today, as you head into your game two, ask yourself, am I preparing like a professional? Am I showing up with intention? Am I building even when it's hard? Because this is your season, my friends. And just like the playoffs, you don't win by accident. You win through preparation, discipline, and resilience. I hope that you all have an amazing Thursday. Plan and strategize your playoff season and go kick some booty. Have a great Thursday. Now go win game two.
