ICMY — this morning’s 6 AM Call hit different.
We talked about obstacles. Not how to push through them faster — but what they actually are.
Because most of us treat obstacles like interruptions. Like something went wrong. Like we’re off track.
What if we’re not off track?
What if the obstacle isn’t in the way… it IS the way.
Rumi said it best:
“The wound is the place where the Light enters you.”
The hard season you’re in right now isn’t a detour. It’s not evidence that something went wrong. There is something being built in you that cannot be built any other way.
Your hard season is your qualification.
Join us tomorrow. Mon–Fri, 6 AM. 518-418-1611
All right, good morning, everybody. It is 6 a.m. on Tuesday, June 23rd, and welcome to your 6 a.m. call. I am so glad you're here today. I know Robin and I are always both so happy to see you guys on the call. And we appreciate the support. And we really hope that deep calls are helping you. Just wanted to say that you can reach out to us anytime and suggest topics that you'd like to hear about because we are here to be of service to you. So yeah, today I I wanted to share about something that's been on my heart for some reason. Well, for some reasons. And um and I I really appreciate that you guys showed up. And I know that maybe some of you show up uh carrying something some days, like a hard season, maybe deals that are falling apart, a relationship that's strained, a version of your business that doesn't look like you thought it would by now. Some of you are in the middle of something and you show up anyway. You show up today for this call anyway, and you show up for life anyway, and that really matters. And so I kind of wanted to talk about the obstacles today, not in a like here's how you push through them way, but more in a here's what I think they actually are kind of way. Because I think most of us, including me, sometimes I've been there in the past. We treat obstacles like they're interruption, like something's gone terribly wrong. Like the plan was supposed to go one way, and the obstacle is evidence that we're off track or doing it wrong. But what if that's not what's happening? What if the obstacle isn't in the way, but it is the way? There's a line from uh Rumi, who is a Sufi poet, that I keep coming back to. And I wanted to offer it to you guys today because it it has been extremely helpful to me. In fact, I have it printed out and on the wall. The wound is the place where the light enters you. And, you know, that is a powerful statement. The wound is the place where the light enters you. Not the wound is the thing you recover from, or not the wound is the setback you push pad, but the wound is the actual opening. And I believe that. I really do from the bottom of my heart. I have seen it too many times in my own life and in the life of people I've walked alongside to think it's just a nice, cute thing. The hardest things I've been through, the losses, the failures, the seasons where I genuinely didn't know if I was going to make it, those weren't the interruptions to my story. Those actually were the story. They were what made me capable of everything that came after. So here's what I want to offer to you today. If you're in a hard season right now, in your business, in your life, maybe your relationship, I just want you to consider the possibility that you're not behind, you're not favoring, and you're not bowing down. You're being faked. There is something being built in you right now that cannot be built any other way. Resilience doesn't come from easy seasons. Empathy doesn't come from always having the answer. The ability to sit with a client who is scared or grieving or overwhelmed that comes from having been scared, grieving, and overwhelmed yourself. Your hard season is actually your qualification. It's what builds your resume. It's what makes you really able to help in a true way. Sometimes there are things that only one person that has gone through it can help another person that has gone through it with. So not someday, but right now. It's already making you into someone your clients need. I want you to think about something specific. Like, what is the obstacle you're facing right now if there is one? And if there isn't one, enjoy the ride because there will be one at some point. I promise you. What is the obstacle you're facing right now in your business or your life that you've been treating like it shouldn't be there? What is the thing you keep trying to get around or get past or make stop? What if instead of asking how do I get through this faster? you asked, What is this building you're gonna be? That's a different question. And it changes everything about how you show up inside it. Because when you know the hard thing has a purpose, even if you can't see the full picture yet, you stop white-knuckling your way through it. You start moving through it with a little more grace and a little more trust. And that's not weakness, it's hate. So as you go into your day today, I want you to carry this with you. The wound is the place where the light enters you. Whatever you're in right now, it's not a detour. It's not evidence that something went wrong. It might be exactly where you're supposed to be. So just keep showing up, keep trusting, keep going. You're not broken. You're being opened. So thanks everybody for being here this morning. Um, I hope you guys have a fabulous day today. Whatever season you're in, enjoy the summer, but keep moving your business forward. Robin, we'll see you tomorrow on the mic at 6 a.m. sharp. We love you guys. Bye.
