Invisible Training: The Work Nobody Claps For That Builds Everything (07.17.26)

What do Lionel Messi at thirty-eight and nineteen-year-old Lamine Yamal have in common besides both playing in the World Cup final this Sunday? It's not talent. It's not fame. It's something the cameras never show.
It's called invisible training. The recovery sessions, the film study, the nutrition discipline, the mental preparation, the thousand quiet decisions made when nobody is watching. And when you hear it described that way, you'll realize we've been talking about it all week ~ we just called it something else.
This Friday episode wraps up one of the most powerful weeks of the Summer Success Blueprint series, and it does it with a frame that will genuinely change how you think about the work you're doing right now. Because the listing you land in October might trace back to a conversation you had this July. The referral that shows up next spring might come from a relationship you're quietly nurturing today. The World Cup final isn't won on Sunday. It's won in the years leading up to it.
We'll connect every pillar from this week ~ visibility, lead generation, energy, rhythm, and the fall setup back to one simple, powerful idea: the work that nobody applauds is the work that builds everything worth celebrating.
Before you head into your weekend, this episode leaves you with two questions worth sitting with. What invisible training are you committed to right now? And what's the work your future self will thank you for, even though no one is clapping today?
Enjoy your weekend. Watch the World Cup. And while you're watching don't just watch the goals. Watch what got them there.
Good morning, everyone. Happy Friday. You later, Lee and I would just always like to thank you for starting your day and your morning routine with us, especially during the summertime. And I like to think of this as where excellence starts before the rest of your competition, especially this summer. So as we wrap up another week together, I want to leave you with one thought that I hope stays with you all weekend. Invisible training. It's a phrase I came across while reading about the World Cup final that's happening this Sunday. And I haven't been able to stop thinking about that phrase. Invisible training. If you're not a soccer fan, that's okay. Because this really isn't about soccer. It's about excellence. It's about what separates people who have lasting success from those who simply have just moments of success. This Sunday, the two best teams in the world, Argentina and Spain, will compete for the World Cup final. It only happens every four years, much like the Olympics. And these players aren't representing themselves, they're representing their entire country. True passion. My family and I absolutely love soccer and honestly can't wait to watch it until Sunday and can't believe that it's going to be over. So on one side, you've got Lino Messi from Argentina. He's 38 years old, still competing on the biggest stage in the world, arguably one of the greatest players of all time to play this game. Then on the other side is Lamina Mall from Spain. She's just 19 years old and already one of the brightest young stars in the world. They're 20 years apart, one at the end of an incredible career, one just beginning what could be a legendary one. But what fascinated me most wasn't really the age difference, it was what they have in common. So when I started reading about how they prepare, I kept coming across the phrase that they used called invisible training. It's the work that nobody sees, the recovery, the nutrition, the film study routines, and the mental preparation, the discipline to do the same things over and over again, even when nobody is watching. Messi has stayed at the top for nearly two decades because he learned that talent alone isn't enough. He protects his body, he manages his energy, he learns when to push and when to conserve. Every decision that he makes is intentional. Lamin Yamal, despite being only 19, already trains beyond what most people realize. His preparation doesn't stop when practice ends. He works on recovery, nutrition, his mindset, and all of the little things that make him ready when the lights come on. And then that's where it all connected with me. We've actually spent this entire week talking about invisible training. We just called it something different. On Monday and Tuesday, we talked about visibility. People see the social media posts, they see the video, the listing, and the success. What they don't see is the planning, the consistency, and the courage it took to hit post over and over again. Visibility is earned long after anyone notices you. Then we talked about lead generation. Nobody's celebrating your five calls or applauding you because you did follow-up text. Nobody's giving you high fives when you when you finally send those handwritten notes or check in with past clients. But those are reps nonetheless. And called invisible training. Then we talked about rhythm. Not waiting until you feel motivated. Build your routines that carry you when motivation disappears. The best athletes don't wake up asking if they feel like training today. The best business owners don't wake up asking if they felt like prospecting. They just trusted their rhythm. And then yesterday we talked about the false setup. So this is what I realized. The World Cup final isn't one this Sunday. It's one the years leading up to Sunday. Every workout they had, every recovery day, every practice and sacrifice that they've made in every decision leading up to the Sunday. This math is simply where all of that invisible work becomes visible. And isn't that the same for us? The listening that you get in October might come from a conversation that you have this July or even today. The referral that you receive next spring may come from a relationship that you've been nurturing the rest of the year. The momentum you have this call is being built right now, in the middle of the summer, while many people have taken their foot off the gas. So as you head into this weekend, think about this. What invisible training am I doing and am I committed to? What's the work that no one will applaud today, but that my future self will thank before? Because that's where greatness is built. It's not when everyone's watching, but it's when no one is watching. So this weekend, of course, I want you to enjoy your weekend, spend time with your family, recharge, watch the World Cup final Sunday at 3 p.m. if you have a chance. And while you're watching these two amazing teams and these players, Messi and Laminha Mall, don't watch the goal. Watch the preparation, every touch and every decision, every movement. You're watching years of invisible training come to life on the world's biggest days. I hope they all have an amazing weekend. See you on Monday. Keep showing up, keep doing the work that no one sees. Lee and I are so proud of all of your work, and your family is too. They're all rooting for you. Everyone will see the result. Go crush this weekend.
