Welcome back to the Everyday Faith Podcast from Eastside with today's Faith Rooted Principle.
SPEAKER_01Good morning. It's Pastor Finley Cuttshaw. Today is Tuesday, May the 19th. And the rooted principle I want to share is this progress in your walk with God takes action and effort. This question comes to my mind. Are we still in the huddle? Let me read a verse to you. Exodus 14, 15 says, And the Lord said unto Moses, Wherefore Christ thou unto me, speak unto the children of Israel that they go forward. This took place at a time when Moses and the children of Israel were standing at the Red Sea with the children or with the Egyptian army bearing down on top of them. Could you imagine being at a football game and seeing one team remain in the huddle while the other team plays the game? It'd be ridiculous. We would begin to boo and probably ask for a refund on our ticket. We would want to speak to the coach to find out whether or not he knew how to play football. We would wonder why or how these players ever made it onto the field. Do they even know how to play the game of football? But are we guilty sometimes of the same thing in spiritual warfare? Moses wanted to huddle with God while the children of Israel needed to go forward. Do we huddle and discuss what could or should be done? Do we make our game plans that we never implement? Paul said in 1 Corinthians chapter 9, 24, run that ye may obtain. We must be in the game to score and win. We're not to simply make plans, we're to make progress. When the children of Israel stood at the Red Sea with the Egyptian army bearing down behind them, God told Moses to stop praying and take action. And the Lord said unto Moses, Wherefore Christ thou unto me, speak unto the children of Israel, listen, that they go forward. This does not mean that prayer is unimportant, but it does mean that there will come a time when God requires that you put feet to your prayers. Progress in your walk with God takes action and effort. Have a blessed day.
