Welcome back to the Everyday Faith Podcast from Eastside with today's Faith Rooted Principle. Hey there, I'm Isaac Johnson. Today is Friday, May the 22nd. I hope that you're having a great day. And today's rooted principle is this let God work in your troubles. What's the purpose of having troubles and trials in life? Let's let God use them so that he can make us better, more effective for his glory and for his kingdom. James chapter number one and verse number two says this, my brethren, count it all joy when you fall into divers temptations, meaning various types of trials and various troubles, knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience, but let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire wanting nothing. You know, there's a difference between people who benefit from their troubles and those who do not, and it's found in their response, not in their troubles. It's found in the response. One ancient philosopher said that if everyone in the world could see all the problems of all the people in the world and could choose which ones to have, everyone would go home with their own. The difference is not that some people have troubles while others don't. The difference is that somehow that people respond uh differently than other people do. If we realize the purpose and the meaning of our troubles, God's plan is that it'll make us a mature believer. He's using those things. My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into divers temptations, knowing this that the trials of your faith worketh patience. God is using them. Of course, we're not happy when we're having trouble, but by keeping our eyes focused on the end result that God's going to use this for his glory, we find patience, we find strength to endure those trials and those temptations so we can reach the other side. The greatest tragedy is not when things go wrong in our lives, it's when we don't let God work through the things that do go wrong to make us what He wants us to become. So, again, our rooted principle for today is this let God work in your trouble. Let God work in your trials. Have a great day.
