Good morning. Today is Saturday, May 23rd. This Pastor Cut Shaw from Eastside Baptist Church with today's Rooted Principle, which is this rejoice in God's new mercies for this day and praise him for being your faithful God. Lamentations chapter three, verse twenty one through twenty-four. This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning. Great is thy faithfulness. The Lord is my portion, saith my soul. Therefore will I hope in him. I want you to notice in that text there the word hope is used two times in those few verses there, twenty one to twenty-four. He says, I recall to my mind, and I want you to know sometimes it's good to recall something to your mind, especially when it's concerning God and his goodness and his mercy. He says, because he recalls this to his mind, he has hope. And then he lets us know what he's recalling to mind, the Lord's mercies. And because of those mercies, we are not consumed. In all reality, we all deserve to be consumed. Sometimes today we hear people talk about how they want what's coming to them. They want what they deserve. They deserve this and they deserve that. In all reality, if we what got what we deserved, we would be in hell, and that's just the Bible truth. But because of God's mercy, we are not consumed, and because of his compassions, that is his love that moves him to care for us, because they fail not. This is what gave this uh writer hope. This is what gave him hope as he considered the Lord and remembered him. He had hope in his mercies, he had hope in his compassions, and then he said this, they are new every morning. Great is thy faithfulness. Think about that for just a moment. And I'm uh taking part part of this from the devotional book we've been reading, and Dr. Paul Chapel writes this line. He says, I love the image of our mercy account being refilled as the sun rises each morning. And I love that thought too. In all reality, it's always full to overflowing. And so they're new every morning, and then this great is thy faithfulness. God's faithfulness is beyond anything we could ever comprehend. We live in a world where people are not honest, not always honest, they're not always faithful, they don't always have integrity, but that's never the case with God. He's always faithful. And then finally, that caused him to hope. He said this word hope twice in these few verses, and I believe that today we can have hope as well, because we can rejoice in God's new mercies for this day and praise him for being your faithful God. God bless.
