Welcome back to the Everyday Faith Podcast from Eastside with today's Faith Rooted Principle. Hey there, welcome back. I'm Isaac Johnson, and today is uh Friday. Friday, July the 10th. Man, this week seems like it has flown by. Hope that you have had a great week. Here we are, 10 days into July already. I want to give us our rooted principle uh for today, and that is this that God will take care of you. Reminds me of the old song uh God will take care of you through every day and all the way. Uh and that's the fact is that we can rest with complete confidence in God's love and his care for you. There is, man, we can be confident in that. Uh first Peter chapter number five, I love this. First Peter five, five through seven. Likewise ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder, yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility, for God resisteth the proud and giveth grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time. And then here it is, casting all your care upon him, for he careth for you, casting A L every single care that you have on the Lord Jesus. Why? Because he cares for you. He cares for you more than anyone else in this world could ever care for you. James Cash Penny, JC Penny, uh had a godly heritage as a child, and uh he carried those convictions with him th into his adulthood. He was a hard worker, and uh he was honest and he maintained a godly lifestyle as he became a successful businessman. But when the Great Depression struck he was overextended, and it appeared that he would lose everything that he had worked for. His health broke and he was hospitalized and in such severe pain that he thought he was about to die, he wrote a farewell letter to his family. And then Penny later wrote this, he said, I was broken nervously and physically, filled with despair, unable to see even a ray of hope. I had nothing to live for. I felt I hadn't a friend left in the world, that even my family turned against me. But the next morning he heard singing from the hospital chapel, be not dismayed whatever be tide, God will take care of you. And those words rekindled his faith, and he said, I can't explain it. I can only call it a miracle. I felt as if I had been instantly lifted out of the darkness of a dungeon into warm, brilliant sunlight. Listen, no matter what circumstance that you may be in today, God is there, and please don't forget that. Never abandon or forsake uh he God never abandons or he never forsakes even a single one of his children, and he's not gonna begin today. You can take your burden to the Lord and leave it there, as that its song even says, take your bird into the Lord and leave it there, because listen, he's compassionate, he loves you, and his love is not going to fail. Your needs don't take him by surprise either. And he'll simpl he's simply waiting for you to come to him for help. So that's today's rooted principle. God will take care of you. Thanks for listening.
