This is Episode 9 of our Foundations of Faith Series.
Words don’t just describe your world; they direct it. We dive into the building faith pillar of our Foundation of Faith series and show why belief stays dormant until it finds a voice. Drawing from 2 Corinthians 4:13 and a sweep of biblical moments—from God speaking creation into motion to Jesus calling Lazarus from the tomb—we demonstrate how faith works the same way today: you believe, and therefore you speak.
We answer a heartfelt listener question on how to speak healing when pain and overwhelm feel loud. The path forward isn’t hype or denial; it’s agreement. We talk about letting your words rise from identity, not intensity, and why union with Christ—not emotional stability—is the source of authority. You’ll hear why peace often arrives before full manifestation and how that peace becomes evidence that faith is actively receiving what grace already provided. Along the way we unpack key language—spirit, belief, speak, according as it is written—so your confession is grounded, not guesswork.
From Proverbs’ teaching on the tongue’s power to Romans’ link between heart-belief and mouth-confession, we lay out simple practices to make faith speech a daily rhythm. You’ll learn to break the loop of fear by feeding your ears with your own faith-filled words, to call things that are not as though they are, and to select one promise to speak aloud three times a day. Expectation grows where words go, and expectation makes room for manifestation. If you’re ready to turn conviction into action and see your language become a bridge between what you believe and what you will see, this conversation will meet you right where you are.

Framing The Power Of Spoken Faith
SPEAKER_01This is your season reason. This is your moment. This is faith reveal.
SPEAKER_00Welcome back to Faith Revealed.
SPEAKER_01I'm your host, VM Mansfield. Today we are talking about the building faith section of our foundation of faith series. Faith begins in the heart, but it becomes effective when released through words. Paul reveals a kingdom law that what you believe must be spoken. What if faith remains confined until your mouth opens and releases what God has spoken into your spirit? Faith is born in the heart, but it becomes active when it is spoken with conviction. Second Corinthians chapter four and verse thirteen says, We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed and therefore I have spoken. We also believe and therefore speak. This episode shows how speaking the word activates faith, aligns the spirit, and releases God's creative power.

Listener Question On Speaking Healing
SPEAKER_01Today's listener question comes from Kimberly in Louisiana, who writes, You thought that healing or you taught that healing happens when faith reaches out to receive what grace provided. My question is, how do I speak healing when my body still hurts and my emotions are overwhelmed? Well, Kimberly, we kind of answered that a little bit in the last episode, is why I chuckled. If you uh if you would go back and listen to that, that'll help you. But I'm gonna go ahead and answer your question. Uh since since it's here and it came in, it's a deep and it's an honest question, and it gets right to the core of how faith actually functions in real life. So here's the foundation to settle first. Okay, speaking healing is not pretending pain isn't real, it's choosing which reality gets the final word. Okay, grace has already provided healing through Jesus Christ. Faith doesn't create healing. Faith does not create healing, it reaches out and it receives what's already in existence. The tension that you're feeling happens when your body and emotions are loud. Okay, they're they're they're too loud. Think of somebody yelling. That's what they're doing. Your spirit is still anchored in the truth. Okay. Here's how to speak healing when everything in you is feeling absolutely, totally overwhelmed. Number one, speak from agreement. Don't speak from pressure, speak from agreement. You're not required to shout, you're not required to perform, you're not required to force faith. Faith speaks best from agreement, saying, Lord, I agree with what you have done, even while I hurt. Okay. Saying that is powerful. That kind of confession is rooted in truth, not denial. It's rooted in truth. Lord, I agree with what you have done, even
Identity Over Intensity In Confession
SPEAKER_01while I hurt. I agree that by your stripes I'm healed. Now, when I say even while I hurt, I want you to absolutely understand beyond any doubt, we are not praying into unbelief and doubt. We are not glorifying the problem. Okay? We don't want to focus on glorifying the issue. We're not denying it's there, but we don't want to glorify it either. Okay, so number two, let your words come from identity, not intensity. I and I think this is very powerful. Uh, while I was answering your writing out the answer of your question, uh, I was really praying about it and seeking how to get you the right answer that was maybe a little different because you're there is a different variation from your question and the last question that we answered uh on healing. So I this this really came to me, and I I really believe that God gave this to me. Let your words come from identity, not intensity. You do not speak healing because you feel strong, you speak because you belong to Christ. Your authority comes from union, not emotional stability. Even a quiet confession spoken from who you are in Him carries weight, okay? It doesn't just fall off, like fall off the table. It it carries weight. Give your emotions permission to rest. I think a lot of people can learn from that. Give your emotions permission to just take a break. Just rest, just go on vacation. Okay, and and do it, don't silence your faith. Being overwhelmed doesn't cancel faith. Jesus himself acknowledged sorrow, he acknowledged grief and pressure, but yet never surrendered the truth. You can say my emotions are heavy, but God's word is still true. That's not weakness. I think that's probably maturity. Okay? Speak the word as a witness, not a wetna, not a weapon. You're not trying to fight your body into submission, you're bearing witness to heaven's verdict. The word spoken in faith isn't aggressive, it's steady, it's calm, it's confident. Most of all, it's confident in what grace has already finished. Okay? So let peace lead before manifestation follows. Oftentimes
Peace Before Full Manifestation
SPEAKER_01peace arrives before full healing does. Okay. When peace guards your heart, faith is active even in pain. Okay. If the pain hasn't fully left yet, peace is proof that faith is is still receiving what God is giving or has provided. Okay. Here's the the anchor truth to hold on to. Your confession doesn't need to be louder than your pain. Just needs to be more true. You're not failing because you hurt. You're not disqualified because you're overwhelmed. Faith speaks anyway, not to deny reality, but to align with grace. And that alignment is exactly how healing flows. Kimberly, we want uh we want you to be whole. We want you to be totally healed. So we send the word right now to everyone dealing with these problems. We we've triggered a flood of responses uh uh by talking about healing and things and faith, and we've we've triggered a flood of responses. So we're just gonna break in right now and we're gonna send the word to Kimberly, to Sharon, to everyone that's written in, and all of you that are watching that may experience something, maybe experiencing something like they're writing in. We send the word right now and we command healing into your body by the authority of Jesus Christ that your problems will have to leave right now and never return. I encourage you right now, if you're one of those people, get up right now and do whatever you couldn't do. And I want you to write to me and tell me tell me about your healing. I hope that answer helped you, Kimberly. Uh I think the episode will expound on this answer. Um, so let's get into it. Okay, we're not gonna hold up any longer. Let's get straight into it.
Anchor Text Introduced And Defined
SPEAKER_012 Corinthians chapter 4, verse 13 says, We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believe, therefore I have spoken. We also believe, and therefore we speak. As you know, we like to break down our anchor scripture so we can understand in great depth the meaning of the words uh that we so commonly use. In many cases, they don't always mean what they mean today. So let's break down this verse. You're going to absolutely love this. I'm excited. I hope you're as excited as I am. You're gonna love it. The word spirit is the Greek word pneuma. Okay, they are defined that as breath. Wind, inner life, the anime, uh, yeah, the animating principle of a person, the seat, look at this, the seat of spiritual influence. The spirit of faith is not emotional faith, it is the inner atmosphere of divine conviction. The word belief. Now we've talked about this word before, is pisteo, and it means to be persuaded, to trust, to rely upon, to be convinced of God's truth. Belief isn't uh some some kind of something that we see out in the distance. No, belief is internal persuasion. Speak is Lileo. To utter words, to declare openly, to speak from conviction, not mere repetition. Faith-filled speaking is revelation expressing itself according as it is written, is cathos. In alignment or in alignment with, in agreement with the written word, according as it is written. So you're in agreement with the written word. Speaking faith is not random, it agrees with scripture. Okay, so if you're going to speak faith, your speaking is your faith speaking is revelation expressing itself. How does it do that? It agrees with the word. Okay? Listen, uh it'll preach itself, I'm telling you. Okay, so let's talk about the spirit of faith. In 2 Corinthians chapter 4, verse 13, Paul quotes David from Psalms 116, verse
Faith Speaks: Jesus, Ezekiel, Genesis
SPEAKER_0110, showing that faith has already manifested the same way. I believe, therefore I have spoken. Faith speaks what it is convinced of. Mark chapter 11, verse 22 through 24, 22 said, And Jesus answering saith unto them, have faith in God. Verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, be thou removed and be cast into the sea, and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass, he shall have whatsoever he saith. 24. Therefore, I say unto you, that what things soever you desire when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them. Jesus repeats the word, saith, three times. He doesn't say think, he doesn't say hope, he doesn't say feel, he says say. Your mouth becomes the instrument of your manifestation. Your mouth becomes the instrument of your manifestation. Now, you you've got to get to the place where you totally 100% and utterly understand that whatever you say comes to pass. Now, we have spent weeks, absolute weeks, trying to just lay the foundation of what this really means to speak in the power of your words. Okay, faith that speaks through scripture produces, it creates things, okay? It produces things. In Genesis chapter 1, God said, and what happened? Creation moved. It didn't move until God spoke. But when God said, it moved. Ezekiel chapter 37, verse 4. God told Ezekiel, he said, Son of man, can these bones live? Ezekiel said, They can live. He said, Prophesy unto these bones and say unto them, Say, say, say, say unto them, what happened? The bones did not respond to emotion, they responded to words. Jesus stood at the tomb of Lazarus in John chapter 11, verse 43. Now, I want to I want to show you something here. He said, Lazarus come forth. He spoke. Jesus spoke resurrection and resurrection happened. Now let me show you something about Lazarus here. Okay, when you're when you're dealing, because there's a lot of people, a lot of you that watch this show that are kind of in Jesus' situation, and you have a Lazarus somewhere, and you've got a Mary and a Martha standing there. We're gonna gut punch Mary and Martha here, the idea of Mary and Martha. All right. Now I'm not I'm not hitting at them, but I'm telling you, listen, Jesus shows up, he said, we're gonna go see Lazarus. Okay. Well, Lazarus died four days ago. Yep. Lazarus is sick. Word came to Jesus, Lazarus is sick. What did Jesus do? He just hung out. He didn't get up, he didn't take off running, he didn't herd up a bunch of horses and saddle up and take off ride. He didn't herd up a bunch of camels and take off ride. He just waited. He waited. Now this was for a purpose. Okay. He's not waiting for you at this point. Okay. Jesus ain't four days late to you. All right. This was there. All right. But look, he finally gets over there four days late. He just comes dragging in four days late, is what it appears to everybody. Here comes Martha, here comes Mary. Jesus, our brother, has died. If you'd been here, you could have healed him. He'd be alive. Today he'd be alive. If you would have just got here when we sent word to you, Jesus said, your brother shall live. Now, just like all these religious people in all these churches, here they come saying, I know my brother shall live in the resurrection. One day over yonder, after a while, in the great blue beyond, somewhere out there, my brother's going to live again. Jesus looks at her and he said, I am the resurrection. I am the resurrection. Listen, there are probably not
Lazarus And Words That Command Life
SPEAKER_01more powerful words spoken at any time in the history of the universe than Jesus standing there telling Mary and Martha, I am the resurrection. Death has to obey what I tell it. They get over there to the grave, to the tomb. Now there's a crowd watching this. All right. There's Pharisees sitting there, there's Sadducees sitting there, there's people sitting around there. This is a funeral. There's people there. All right. They're still grieving, they're still mourning, they're still crying over Lazarus. Jesus tells them, roll the stone away. Now, wait a minute, big boy. Here's their response. All right. Now wait a minute. No, no. He's been dead in there four days. All right. That thing's going to stink. Roll the stone away. And what happens? He says, Lazarus, come forth. All he said. Lazarus, come forth. And out of a tomb came a man wrapped in grave clothes, bound, hand in foot, mummified, basically, wrapped up. Here he comes out of that tomb. Can you imagine the looks on the faces of the people, especially Mary and Martha, who did not believe that Jesus had the power to call death off of Lazarus, to call him from the other side of that tomb out of Abraham's bosom and walk him right out of that tomb? Listen, he came out of the tomb because of a word that was spoken. And I hear you say, well, that's that's Jesus. That's not us. Okay, let's turn to Acts chapter 3, verse 6. Peter and John were headed to the gate called beautiful, as it was customary in that day. Notice how they followed the customary tradition of going to church. You should too. Okay. In that they there's a guy, a lame man sitting there begging for money, just like the many of them that we pass day to day. Of course, this guy was actually lame. He wasn't faking it and makes more money than the rest of them. Anyway, here's this guy. Peter and John walk by. Peter looks at him. The guy looks at Peter. They make eye contact. Peter said, Silver and gold have I none, but such as I have, give I thee in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk. A word went forth. Now, I will go on to tell you that Peter didn't stop at the word. He grabbed him by the hand and lifted him up. Okay, and action followed that word. But faith speaks the command. And when the and when faith speaks the command of the kingdom, creation has to obey it. You understand what I'm saying? When faith speaks a commandment out of a kingdom, out of the kingdom, the kingdom of God, okay, the kingdom is within you. When faith speaks from the kingdom, a command of the kingdom, which is rise up and walk, creation has to obey it. Say, well, they walked with Jesus. That's that's just them. Okay, well, let's look at Paul, Romans chapter 10, verse 8. But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth. But in thy heart. That is the word of faith which we preach. Faith in the heart must become a word in thy mouth. Paul preached. Now you talk about long-winded preachers. Paul preached so long, a guy fell asleep, fell out of the window, and died. Paul went and raised him up, called him back from the dead. Paul had that same authority. Say, well, that's them. No, that's us too. That's absolutely us too. There is no differentiation between those guys and us. We have the same gift of God dwelling
Peter, John, And Action With Words
SPEAKER_01in us that they had. Paul didn't walk with Jesus in the flesh. Paul actually persecuted all of those that followed Jesus. Okay. There is no differentiation between us and Paul. Paul had what God gave him, which was the Spirit of God and the Spirit of grace, which was the gift of grace. Okay, that he could have God dwelling in him. Guess what you have? God dwelling in you. Guess what you can do? All of those things. You can speak forth, and what you say will absolutely come to pass if you believe that what you say will come to pass. That's the contingency. You have to believe that what you say is going to come to pass. Now, let me give you a couple principles here. We're going to start chapter marketing these uh kingdom principles. Okay, what you say reveals what you believe. You ever you ever hear that like if you just listen to somebody talk long enough, they'll tell you their real intentions? Yeah. Well, you too. What you say reveals what you believe. What you continually say establishes what you believe. See, as a as a man thinks, so he so is he. Because from the abundance of the heart, which is the mind, the mouth speaks. So let me let me show you. You, the vicious cycle of the revolving door that people get into doubt, fear, and unbelief. They think, then they speak, then they hear themselves speak, and they come in agreement with themselves and they think it again and
The Word Near You: In Your Mouth
SPEAKER_01they become that. It's a revolving door. It's a vicious cycle if you're doing that with unbelief. But if you're doing that with faith, if you're doing that with Bible verses, if you're doing that with the word of God, then you're going to think the word of God. You're going to speak the word of God. You're going to hear the word of God, and you're going to become the word of God because as a man thinks, so is he. I'm getting too hyped up here. Let's move this over. Punch in the microphone. Okay, what you say reveals what you believe. What you continually say establishes what you believe, and what you repeatedly say manifests what you believe. It is that revolving door. It's either good or it's not good. Okay, you're either speaking doubt, fear, and unbelief, or you're speaking faith and life. Okay, Proverbs chapter 18, verse 21 said, Death and life are in the power of the tongue. Your tongue is a steering wheel. Your words direct your faith. Your confession shapes your reality. Faith without speaking is incomplete. Faith becomes powerful when it becomes verbal. Okay? Now let's put this to action inside of you. Let's start to get this flowing in you. Let's get it, get it moving to where you can get up off of your rump and you can put it into action. Okay, Romans chapter uh four, verse 17 said, call those things that be not as though they were. Faith calls, it doesn't describe. Okay, these are these are still kingdom principles, but we're these are these are activating principles that you can put into just simple things that you can do in your daily life that
Principles: Words Reveal And Establish Belief
SPEAKER_01will cause you to be a person of faith, not claim faith, but but manifesting faith, showing the fruit of faith, which is the work of faith. Okay. Faith calls, it does not rescribe. Romans chapter 10, verse 10 said, For with the heart man believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Believing brings you into right standing. Confession brings manifestation. All right. We defined the word salvation. It's sozo. Uh, if you don't remember it, go back to the beginning of the uh episode and you'll you'll hear the definition of this. Okay, so it's salvation. So with confession, salvation is made. If you need healing, healing is contained in the word sozo, in salvation. What you have to do is you have to believe with your heart and confess with your mouth. Okay? You can literally say, if you can believe with your mouth your heart and confess with your mouth, you shall be healed. Joshua chapter 1, verse 8 said, For the book of the law shall not depart from your mouth. Okay, what's the law? Love the Lord your God. That's the revelation. That's the key revelation. It all starts with love. The word must be present in the mouth to produce the success that we expect out of the word of God. Okay. 2 Corinthians chapter 4, verse 13 said, We also believe and therefore we speak. This is a law of spiritual agreement. That's why we use this verse a lot. I'm really trying to drill that. We believe and we speak. We believe, we speak. We're gonna get into the action part eventually, okay? And we're gonna start drilling the action part. But right now, we believe, we speak, we believe, we speak, we believe, we speak. This is the law of spiritual agreement. Your words reveal what you have agreed with. You either agree with fear or you agree with faith. You either agree with doubt or belief, okay? Defeat or victory, sickness
Tongue As Steering Wheel Of Life
SPEAKER_01or healing. Either doubt or truth. Faith is never spoken. Or faith that is never spoken remains trapped within you. Get a hold of that. Faith that is never spoken remains trapped within you. Faith becomes a force when your mouth declares what your spirit is persuaded of. Okay, if you're not, if you're not speaking it, it's not happening. So pray this with me. Say, Lord, fill my mouth with your word. Let my words reflect your truth, not my circumstances. Confess this. Say, I believe, therefore, I speak. My words align with the word of God. Now, choose, I want you to do this. Choose one Bible promise that you're standing on and speak it. I
Calling Things Not As Though They Are
SPEAKER_01want you to speak it out loud three times a day. Put a calendar on your phone, an alarm on your phone, do something. Speak it three times a day. Speaking builds expectation. Expectation births manifestation. And while you're doing this, think my mouth is the bridge between what I believe and what I will see. That's where we're going to stop for today. Take time, let that settle.
