Today’s episode marks a major milestone. Tree Composites has officially signed the Grant Agreement for JOIN2SCALE under the Horizon Europe programme, with Tree Composites as project coordinator leading a powerful European consortium. This is of major importance because offshore wind foundations still depend heavily on welding-intensive steel joints that require up to 50,000 hours of manual labor per jacket. JOIN2SCALE aims to industrialize automated composite joint manufacturing as a scalable alternative, enabling higher production throughput, lower CO₂ emissions, improved safety and stronger European competitiveness. Beyond that, this is also about European autonomy, industrial resilience and the future of offshore manufacturing in Europe. With us today is Tim Kapteijn, Manager Business Development at Tree Composites and deeply involved in the strategic development behind JOIN2SCALE.
