This episode covered the latest in culture, sports, and the economy including Spirit Airlines’ reported crowdfunding effort, backlash over Mary J. Blige’s Vegas residency performances, new Prince music, Tiger Woods’ DUI case updates, Dwight Howard’s divorce news, and viral conversations around Waymo incidents in Atlanta and Brazil visa misconceptions.
Absolutely. Why not drop doctor from your name if you cannot bring forth the doctoral degree?
SPEAKER_00So we weren't. I've already covered this, right? And we're here obviously to talk about my new book. Um, so I've earned the title, I have multiple degrees, and I'm not gonna prove anything to anybody. And we're gonna leave it, leave it just as that. Yeah, doctors money and bring, baby, doctors tonight and bring.
SPEAKER_01You're standing by then.
SPEAKER_00Standing by my yeah, because I earned it. Absolutely. Well, thank you. Thank you.
SPEAKER_01I know you're gonna hang around.
SPEAKER_00And I want to thank you for asking the hard question.
SPEAKER_01I'm a journalist with two degrees at the end of the day, and so I had two. Come on, yeah, it's Northeastern University. So I had to make sure I display that as well as a journalist. We're gonna have some fun and just a little bit.
SPEAKER_02Woo! If shade was shade was shade was shade. Happy Sunday.
SPEAKER_03Happy Sunday to Shade was sticking that intro.
SPEAKER_02Second time around.
SPEAKER_03Oh, yeah, because we had to re-record, y'all.
SPEAKER_02We're back. Happy Sunday again. Um, welcome to the Rufus and Craig Show. I'm your wonderful host, Craig. And I'm Rufus. So we're happy to get back with you wonderful people. Um a week and a day later. Um, we got a great show lined up. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We got a great show lined up for you all. We're excited about it. And we made it. So what you just heard was, I believe it's the Myesha Mitchell show. Um, Cheyenne Bryant, um, who has been under fire over the last, I would say, week and a half. Um due to her saying that she has a doctorate degree in psychology from Argenson University. Um, she went on the Breakfast Club and told them that the school had closed and so her records were deleted after two years. And so Which is Go ahead, I'm sorry. No, I stopped talking so you can talk.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, the two-year part is like hard to believe because nobody keeps records for just two years. That's like you might as well not even bother. You might as well just shred the shit as soon as it's over with if you're gonna keep it for two years. Just my opinion, though.
SPEAKER_02She should pick a story and stick to it. But nonetheless, um, one thing about it, her publisher has come forward to actually extend refunds to those persons who said, you know what, she is not a doctor and we don't want to promote her book. So, you know, um Oh, refunds for the books that they bought?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that they bought.
SPEAKER_02So, yeah, the publishers come forward. So the lesson in all of this, um, you know, I always try to find meaning and everything. Just stick to the truth. You know what I'm talking about.
SPEAKER_03You can't go wrong with the truth because with the lie, you gotta backtrack and make sure remember what you told somebody, you know. Absolutely. She said it's truth, stick to the truth, stick to the truth.
SPEAKER_02It's it's much easier that way. And so um, you know, I we won't wish her anything. Um, I I told Rufus, I think that's why the show probably crashed yesterday. It's just a lot going on. So, yeah, yeah, she got a lot going on. So we're just gonna stay away from um Miss Cheyenne. So, one thing we'll just get right into it, and one thing about it that we know we always like to talk about what those economic factors, and for those of you who are fans of the Real Housewives of Atlanta that shows on Bravo, if you remember seasons maybe, I think that up the couple, maybe three through nine for sure, or maybe ten. You know, I think Ty was on the year three through ten, or Candy started on ten, but nonetheless, the the ex-husband, the now ex-husband, uh singer, writer, producer, actress, Grammy Award winner, Candy Burris, her husband Todd Tucker is teaming up with Pikachu's ex-husband. Thank you. Ex-husband Todd Tucker is teaming up with Cynthia Bailey, another character from that show's um ex-husband, Peter Thompson for the Real Housewives Ex-Husband Reality TV show.
SPEAKER_03And he set this game up perfectly, didn't he?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, this is gonna work out good. So, according to Peter, um, they're looking to include Apollo Knighter by Whitfield, Ralph Pittman, Mike Hill, as well as Mark Daly. So I'm sure that this show will be green-lit by someone. Um, I think Kevin Hart years ago had a parody show. What was it called?
SPEAKER_03Uh The Real House Husbands, excuse me, the Real House Husbands of Hollywood on BT.
SPEAKER_02So I I think this will be opposite of that, because I I'm guessing this will be like a true docuseries. And I I know people really enjoy seeing um Papa Smurf, as you all have called him, Peter Thomas, um, on their screens. And so I just, you know, we just want Peter to get it right. I think Peter's what? If he's not in his late 50s, early 60s, um That's it? Yeah, I think he's finishing up his bid. Well, he got out, like he went in, but he got out. Was it for taxes?
SPEAKER_03He got out early. I think it was tax aversion.
SPEAKER_02Yes, those employment taxes he wasn't paying on bar one Miami. Um, I went to that restaurant and I mean the food was good, right? But I mean, you know, you put some jerk seasoning on something. It was good, but the service wasn't as good. And so I was like, uh, here we are. Um definitely wouldn't go back there. Uh, but I think, oh, I went with Noah and Charlotte to that other restaurant. He had one in Charlotte. We went there. The food was good, but again, the service just be crappy. So I don't know what that's about, but um Does this new venture have a they don't have a network yet?
SPEAKER_03I'm guessing? No, no, no.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, they'll probably do that and then get green, they didn't get picked up. And I'm sure it's an opportunity.
SPEAKER_03Wouldn't it be interesting if it was on Bravo also? Like if if the Rail Housewives of Atlanta started at seven, I think that show should start at eight and just make it a whole thing.
SPEAKER_02To your point, I think they might actually get more ratings.
SPEAKER_03Maybe so, because it'll be something it's new.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, I think they would, and and and I think it'll pull from both, you know, well, male and women and men. Not male and female, but women and men.
SPEAKER_03It'll be just like when the husbands watch the housewives with their wives. With their wives, with their husbands.
SPEAKER_02Yep, yep, yep, yep, yep. So that's that's that's definitely something. Um one other story that I came out, uh, across rather than I came out with, but came across with earlier this week, it was it had to deal with Aaliyah. And after her services, it was said that there was a $68,000 bill related to that, and the singer Maxwell paid it in full. And so I was like, wow, people sticking together. Just like Peter and Todd are looking to stick together, Maxwell stuck with Aaliyah's family post mortem.
SPEAKER_03Well, thank you to Maxwell, because nobody I didn't know that, and I think that's amazing.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. Um, you know. Yeah, I was like, wow, the things you don't know. Right.
SPEAKER_03I don't even know if we needed to know that, but again, it was random. Thanks to Maxwell.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, who dug that up? Why is this even news at this point? But nonetheless, we're sharing that out with you all. Now, one thing about it, I saw something too, and I'm like, is this still a thing? If you think back to maybe a year ago when that would have been that man's been in office for has he been in office a year? Did he get in office in 24 or 25?
SPEAKER_03The orange, the orange manager, um maybe a year and it's May, so like almost a year and a half, I think.
SPEAKER_02Okay, that's what it was. So he began those terror things, and remember it was something about China, and I think this story is coming. It just makes sense to talk about it now because he was just in China. But one thing that I came up, that the Chinese have come forward again to expose Louis Vuitton saying that it only costs $55 to make their sneakers that they will go and sell for $22.50. And so you all um, good luck to everybody that's buying designer, you know, shoes. I only have the Gucci slides that my partner bought me a few years ago. Um that's it. Rufus, do you have designer shoes?
SPEAKER_03I also have a pair of Gucci slides that was purchased for me for my birthday. Um I I stand on being a cheap, um, not cheap, but um frugal. I can say cheap. I'm cheap. Hell, I'm poor. So I'm not I'm not gonna buy the Gucci slides. Thank you for the person that got them for me. But um, yeah, I have that pair and that's it. I'm I'm a I'm a simple man. I don't wear labels. I'm not I'm not intrigued by it at all. So but I can definitely believe that um they cost $55 to make and they're selling them at a mass, a mass increase, and they're exploiting the fuck out of rich people or just regular people. Yeah, I can't be mad at it because if you want to pay it, then pay it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, yeah. But I won't be doing it. I think it's funny, you know, because I think about um Quentin Latham was going to Kwas' birthday party on Friday night.
SPEAKER_03Oh, that's fucking done either, huh?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, he kept talking about uh battling Dr. Jackie and Steve from their marriage to medicine show. That's Dr. Mimi's husband, because Steve is always gonna come in some kind of Louis Vuitton print uh blazer, whether it's a whole suit. You know, he's wearing tens of thousands of dollars of clothing items that we now know cost less than $100 to make. Um, and so I just I remember him talking about I can't go in this store. And he he went to MCM and paid like almost $500 for a bag to go with this plain John outfit that he wore to the apartment. Nonetheless, I just thought it was funny to see people go out and you know, I'm I'm definitely I've mastered fashion over. Unfortunately, those are the clothes you have to throw away if you wash them. Um not always.
SPEAKER_03I got some fashion.
SPEAKER_02Those t-shirts, them t-shirts.
SPEAKER_03Oh, yeah, the t-shirts do shrink and get, you know, yeah. So I wouldn't, I wouldn't disagree. Well, some other t-shirts, like the little, the little um, the graphic ones for sure.
SPEAKER_02Shit, I ain't never had one and they shrunk. I you know what? Target had gotten lazy with theirs. Uh, I forgot what the brand. Good and fellow is good and fellow.
SPEAKER_03That person.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I'm I'm good for those shirts, and I feel like I have one that's shrunk. Like, right, like if you if you wash a Ralph Lorraine shirt, and I used to work there at the outlet store years ago. You all, you know, you can forget it. It turns, even the manager say, Yeah, you wash that thing, it turns into a napkin.
SPEAKER_03I really feel like all t-shirts shrink when you wash them. I could be wrong, but I feel like they all shrink when you at least when you dry them. Because I don't think the washing machine does it. But you throw that bitch in a dryer, that bitch gonna shrink up.
SPEAKER_02It's over. Those cotton.
SPEAKER_03Unless you like this one I got on is a bamboo shirt right now. Yeah, it won't really do nothing. But them cotton ones, the motherfuckers shrink up.
SPEAKER_02Those synthetic blends. So get a blended shirt if you wanted to somewhat maintain its shape and size. Yeah, shape and size. Wow, that's something. But one thing that we know didn't maintain its shape and size. Um, I flew them. We talked about them in previous uh episodes, and so this is somewhat of a follow-up story to that. It's Spirit Airlines, unfortunately, you all. Um, I know it stays on my Google feed, it stays on my timeline on Instagram.
SPEAKER_03At least my YouTube, I think.
SPEAKER_02I hadn't got that bad on my side yet. But Spirit Airlines, man, they have crowdfunded almost $400 million to really buy it. Um, it's actually a black guy that's behind this, so he's looking to buy Spirit Airlines and and bring it back. And I think, you know, I had to ask a friend of mine. I was like, well, how the hell you buy something that's been liquidated? He said, well, you know, you can buy the brain of it. Yeah. So he he's looking to do that, and and maybe they'll get it back up and going for the most part. I know Spirit definitely came through for me. I've flown them internationally, not as much domestically. Um, you know, because if you're looking at $800 versus $250, I'm gonna take the $250 and get my ass on the plane. Opposed to the person doing $800, and I'm getting on down. But you know what? You get what you pay for, you sure right. And I think you would you would appreciate a plushy seat. But I I sat on those 10 seats going out of the country a couple of times, and you bring your own snacks. Hell, even did we talk about that last week about Delta with the snacks now?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, they're doing no snacks on water or only water for the flights less than 350 miles, yes, which will be like an hour flight. So I kind of get that. But y'all can get them folks a little, a little biscottic, what they call them? Biscoff cookies.
SPEAKER_02And tea and water. That's the service that they do do. They don't pull the car out, but they give you tea and water. We'll do tea and water, and so that's something that they can just drink.
SPEAKER_03And coffee.
SPEAKER_02And coffee, yeah. Yeah, they'll do that and keep it going. But they've been not doing it. So I'm like, they just have to come out and make a stance to officially say.
SPEAKER_03I think they're just trying to align with what everybody else does. I could be wrong. I think that's that's I don't think that's a bad uh I think it's a pretty smart business decision, but it's not a smart, like um uh uh marketing decision, I guess you can say people are gonna hate it. Right, they'll be fine because you only 350 miles is like that's like an hour flight, maybe less than that. So you'll be fine for an hour.
SPEAKER_02Bring your own snacks. 350, that ain't enough to get up and go use the bathroom on the plane. You know, but nonetheless, and our last economy story is one that the Rufus, you know, we talk about data sys what the data centers, excuse me, being put up in rural areas and really lowering the water table and drinking up all the fucking water. Yeah, people have no water pressure. Absolutely, absolutely. So one thing is saying, opposed to to using Google Flights Booking.com and apps or uh, you know, websites like um Sky Scanner, um, it's saying use Chat GPT. And they said give it seven prompts so that you can break the airline pricing. So the yeah, yeah. It says, you know, you have a prompt that you can find the the hidden route scanner. There's one that talks about price manipulation detecting, as well as geo pricing bypass. The fourth one talks about the time and sweet spot finder. It also talks about a fair rule exploiter. And the next one will be airline versus OTA comparison. So it talks about those different booking sites and how they do have some markups and things like that. And then it says the price drop watch strategy is the last one. You want to create a detailed fair tracking strategy that monitors price drops without triggering increases. It said includes search frequency, time and resets, alert setup, behavioral rules, and practical examples to keep prices stable while tracking over time. So you can leverage ChatGPT as much as we know it is consuming. You know, I I I am um I pay my little $20 a month. I think it's like $21 and some change. That's the taxes. Uh I don't think that's necessarily pro, but it's just the the paid version of it. Um, and a lot of people are moving away from generative AI and in in that regard and going to like Claude, things that are more formal.
SPEAKER_03So I'm still on Chat GPT for now. I'm I'm a little bit against, not a little bit, I'm kind of a lot of bit against uh the use of AI for every every kind of task. But uh I've ex I haven't done this myself, but I watch a lot of aviation YouTube and I've heard that one of the hacks is to get a VPN and change your location to like a cheaper or a poorer country like Thailand or Mexico or something like that, and search from flights from that from that uh that IP address. And I heard it's sometimes cheaper. I haven't done it, but I heard that's what that works for some people.
SPEAKER_02We need you to do that. That needs to be your homework and your research, and you come back and sell us.
SPEAKER_03I do, I have searched, I have an I have a VPN, but I've searched it, but it just hasn't been cheaper than I've noticed. So maybe I'm doing it wrong or something. I don't know.
SPEAKER_02The author of this post has claimed that you know he paid $186 for a flight that was posted at $1,412.
SPEAKER_03Well, they do that's dope.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. So, you know, there it is. Now we'll pivot over to our wonderful what sports section where we bring sports.
SPEAKER_03My least favorite part.
SPEAKER_02Lifestyle, culture, pop culture. It just typically bleeds over. So we're gonna start with a couple of uh follow-up stories here. And of course, we we could do Tiger Woods is backstayside from being in Zurich, Switzerland, with his uh we wouldn't call it a residency, his his rehab stay. Um, and and one thing that was determined even in the same past week um that we had that a judge did grant prosecutors the right to subpoena his prescription drug records in that DUI case. So he went away, and they're still allowing him to move forward. So we if you think back to our prior episodes, one thing that we did report was how Tiger uh allegedly phoned the sitting president from that accident. If you're not familiar, he is in a relationship with the sitting president's ex-daughter-in-law, because she still carries that last name. If it's it's one of the sons, or is it the son's ex- You can look that up real quick while we is it who is Tiger Wills dating and how is she related to the sitting president? I I think she's the ex-wife, because she still has that last name of the sitting president. And so um nonetheless, supposedly he called him from the scene of the accident. I don't know how we know that information. Um that's quite a bit. I wouldn't know like who the hell is Tiger Woods on the phone with, but they're saying when he when that when his his Range Rover ran into the back of um, I believe it was a stationary vehicle and flipped over on his side, he got out of the car and called the sitting president.
SPEAKER_03So uh I have the answers. In the news, Tiger Woods is dating Vanessa Trump. Vanessa is a former model and actress and the ex-wife of Donald Trump Jr.
SPEAKER_02Boom. There it is.
SPEAKER_03And that's from people.com.
SPEAKER_02That's it, that's it. So we knew he was intertwined with those people. So we'll see how his case goes away. Um, like a lot of things with people that have access to certain individuals, things just seem to go away.
SPEAKER_03He gets punished to the full extent of the law, like every other person that is not connected to somebody of importance and power.
SPEAKER_02As he should. Absolutely. I agree with that, as he should, as he should. Um another story to follow up with Dwight Howard's estranged wife, Amy Luciana, demands temporary alimony and $20,000 for legal fees amid the divorce battle. And so when I saw these two come across my timeline, I was like, uh, I'm not sure about that.
SPEAKER_03Umr for what, a couple weeks.
SPEAKER_02It was like 18 months or something. Yeah, just you know, and her they they have the court document here. It says due to the disparity of income, respondent moves the court for an award of attorney fees on account in the amount of $20,000 as temporary attorney fees, expenses of litigation. So the responder may, we don't care, that's a lot of legal jargon, but she just Amy wants some money. So basically, it seems like those attorneys have asked for money, so they're saying, well, you need to go ask him if you don't have it. Go ask him.
SPEAKER_03If I were him, I would keep it playing and just give her the $20,000. But that's all I would give her, though.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and I'm thinking, you know, one thing they said, so when I remember her coming on the scene through Love and Hip Hop, she was a YouTube star that had, you know, pretty much hey, had her own condo, you know, had a big channel. I guess she wanted to rap, ended up on Love and Hip Hop. And that's when we first heard about, yeah, her and Dwight dating. Um, but she had her own money. But when she moved in with him, allegedly she sold all the things.
SPEAKER_03Put all the jobs like Porsche.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, she did like Porsche.
SPEAKER_03And just living off the man.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Which seems to be the desire of a lot of women.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. And and living off a man, one thing that I always say, you know, these guys, we're thinking about it, we're gonna pivot to another story here. NFL. And we're talking about Quintavus Hutchins, everybody. Quintavious, and it is spelled, it's spelled how it phonetically sounds. And it is Q-U-I-N-T-A-Y-V-I-O-U-S. Quintavious.
SPEAKER_03Quinte for short.
SPEAKER_02That's it. Quintavio's mother, shout out to you. You named him this, and you made sure he was able to spell it. And so I, you know, this is wonderful. This is wonderful. But what he did was not so wonderful, and just in alignment with that. So, what Quintavis did, he is a rookie.
SPEAKER_03Allegedly.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, allegedly did, right. Uh, for the New England Patriots. And if you're familiar with that name, of course, that's where Stefan Diggs, who was recently released after his, you know, one year with the team for his alleged, and we talked about this in the previous week, uh, strangulation of a chef with the BBL charges. He got off on those, but you know, so hopefully Quintavus is able to keep his job. And and so, you know, he was um um a seven-round draft pick, um, and he signed a four-year deal in the amount of $4.5 million this past May. Well, this current May, not this past May. So a few weeks ago, because it's kind of May 9th, yeah, yeah, yeah. And the deal included a $122,096 signing bonus, with just that signing bonus being the money that he was guaranteed. So you all, if he gets released, that's it. All he has gotten was the $122,096, you know, guaranteed money that he signed for.
SPEAKER_03I would argue the opposite. Um, if he did what they say he did, I would advocate that he should not keep his job. Just my opinion.
SPEAKER_02So Tavius, Rufus said no. So, you know, but it seems like the New England Patriots as an organization distance themselves.
SPEAKER_03That's a business, they gotta keep their brands pristine.
SPEAKER_02They like they did with Diggs, they distance themselves, and you know, wow. So Quintavus, um, if you're innocent, you know, we up we believe in allowing the legal system to do what it's supposed to do. Um, but but as much as possible, you know, people distance yourselves from those who don't mean you any good. Um, you see it, we get all of the signs. So when you you roll into something big, you can't take everybody with you. So not too familiar with this case. I'll just leave it, leave it at that. And just get into our wow moments of the show. Uh uh. You know, one story that came up, this might have been about a year ago, and I think uh Rufus definitely travels more than me, and and actually this particular country, you know, I didn't make the trip that we were supposed to make um together. Um it was a group of guys going, but I just didn't make it. You know, um going to Brazil.
SPEAKER_03Left us high and dry.
SPEAKER_02But you all had a beside what I was told.
SPEAKER_03It was cool. It was definitely a it was a fun trip. But you okay you left us high and dry.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and I never made it with with no warning. Never made it. But my one of my cousins' best friends, they fam new graduates. He said, I got an apartment in Brazil. You know, me and my partner, uh, we got an apartment. If you ever want to go, I stay for three months. He's a producer for Zeus Network, so shout out to you, Scooby.
SPEAKER_03If you borrow that apartment, I might go next week.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, shout out to you, Scooby. Uh, but but nonetheless, you all, I know when we read these headlines, I always tell you, you know, you got to dig a little bit deeper. And one thing about it says you need to have at least $2,000 in your bank account to visit Brazil. You all, that's during the application process. It's not to say when you deplane that you have to show somebody at the airport, hey, here's my $2,000, or here's a screenshot of my credit card uh app that shows that I have access to $2,000. It's during the application process that you have to to get your visa that you have to share with them that, hey, I do have a minimum of $2,000 in my my bank account.
SPEAKER_03I'm glad you clarified that because I was confused by that as well. So thank you.
SPEAKER_02Those headlines can be for the record.
SPEAKER_03I have the $2,000.
SPEAKER_02All right now. Says the man who said 10 minutes ago that he was poor, you all said. I am poor. Just stick with that. Let's let whatever his story is. Let's let him stick with whatever his story is. In another wild moment, you know, I've seen these cars. We're talking about Waymo, you all, the the is it artificially intelligent, AI driven artificial intelligence, which is gonna kill us all. They're gonna take you out. They ain't taking me out. Um, I'm going when I'm supposed to. You see, so nonetheless, in Atlanta, Georgia, the wonderful city of Atlanta, um, and the wonderful state of Georgia, um, shout out to Keisha Lance Bottoms. We understand the governor, and shout out to Dr. Heavenly Cimes, who is running for Congress for District 13 in Georgia. So vote for those two ladies. We want to see change um in the state of Georgia, and I think they'll both do a great job for those who live in Georgia. But the Waymo's in Atlanta. So I came across this, and it's just a video of they said it was up to 50 of them making going around this same cul-de-sac in this Atlanta suburban neighborhood, just going around and round. And it it they just said they woke up, you know. I just couldn't imagine that. You know, maybe getting ready for work, going outside, and all of a sudden it's just Waymo's just circling the cul-de-sac outside of my home. I I I just couldn't imagine that.
SPEAKER_03I could see how they could be freaky, but um, I think that they were mapping the area. Um, I've I've seen this in my actual real life. Uh they were just driving, they had drivers in them at first, but then I think after a while they just once they have the area mapped, they start driving on them on. But I think they were mapping the area for GPS purposes. I could be wrong, but that's what I think.
SPEAKER_02Wow, wow, but we appreciate you and your insight for that because I just, you know, I I remember was it a wrong? One was circling. Thank you for sharing that with us. It was circling, it was in Atlanta again. A Waymo was circling a parking lot, like it wasn't in the West End. I think that was over, oh God, I can't think of the area, but nonetheless, like Martin Luther King Blue, it was just circling the shopping center parking lot over and over at three o'clock in the morning. And everybody, you know, getting it.
SPEAKER_03It'd be late when they do the mapping stuff.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. So it was doing it. So and one thing we'll end the show at this particular point. Uh, watch your algorithms, people. One thing that my friends and I have been sharing all week have just been how you all have just degraded commencement ceremonies at these colleges and universities. And the one that took the cake for me, it wasn't a young lady who was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated. Who was she at in Kentucky? No, no, no. That's the one that topped it. But this lady did a split in front of the president, and everybody's like, oh, oh, she did a split and held up a pyramid. But the one that did take the cake yesterday was this student that did like a high kick, a Herky That's what I was thinking about. Yeah, at Morgan State University, and everybody's like, oh, oh, oh, because she fell on her back. She just fell back.
SPEAKER_03It was a time.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Y'all got to stop. We have got to, you know, one thing that Brandon was saying, she said, You registrars, y'all got to take back y'all stuff. Because this just ain't, they have torn these ceremonies up. I think there was a fight at the Southern University, um, Baton Rouge campuses site, uh, up in the stands about seats, you know, and you see the police rushing down there to break up the families because they were holding seats. So, you know, as much as possible, tell your learners, um, or those of you that have those that are graduating um from undergrad, because I'm you know we see it on that graduate level, but it's mostly the undergrad. We know you're excited. Take that moment outside before the ceremony, don't take it on the stage because I've seen people do backhand springs and flip on top of other learners that are trying to have their moment. It's just it's been a it's been a mess. I gotta reset my algorithm.
SPEAKER_03I did see uh a college or university, I'm not sure where, but there was it was a black man. I don't know what his title was, but he allowed the graduates to cut up for maybe like five minutes before the ceremony started. He said, Go ahead and get this shit out of the way, because when y'all walk across the stage, I don't want all this hoopla. So I think that's a alternative, uh, excuse me, an alternative to the walking across the stage and doing it as well.
SPEAKER_02Yep, and I think you're making reference to Dr. Albert Mosley, the new president at Bethun Cookman University.
SPEAKER_03Okay, Daytona Beach.
SPEAKER_02Daytona Beach, Florida. Absolutely. He did have that moment. And and what else came from that was the parent that recorded it saying they could have chosen a different song. It's like this was dedicated to the D9.
SPEAKER_03You can't make everybody happy.
SPEAKER_02Wow, this was great. You know, they could have chosen a different song track, and it's like somebody's always gonna have a complaint about something. They could stroll to Hezekiah Walker.
SPEAKER_03We've seen all and somebody'll still be mad about it. They could have played a Muslim song.
SPEAKER_02Oh my goodness, but no, I've I've enjoyed this conversation with you today. Uh for the second time. Rufus, we we hope it sticks, or we'll we'll see what the application does. And damn you, Cheyenne Bryant. Over and out.
SPEAKER_03All right, bye. Bye.
