Our Salem journey comes to an end and with it, we take all the lessons we learned about the threat  of blind faith. The most dangerous thing in the world is ignorance. They say that ignorance is bliss but that was not the case in this story.

We're Spectral Homicide. Spectral Homicide. Spectral Homicide. So this is where it all starts to really like. Okay, I was up till like three o'clock in the morning reading this book when I read it. It was insane. Because the case so Sarah K Sarah Good, Sarah Osborne, and Tatuba, their trial began on March 7th, 1692. So get this, right? March 7th is my sister's birthday.

Yeah. So I'm like, oh my gosh, March 7th, that's my sister's birthday. So then I put a bookmark in it and I open up the Book of Gaia, right? Because I'm now I'm looking into see, you know, through numerology, like, how do these dates connect? Like, oh my gosh, if the the Salem witch trouse is a big important part of history, and that's my sister's birthday. There has to be some connection. There's not. It's coincidence. Alright. So a seizure. So they said that they were attacked with a knife, but they weren't they weren't bleeding. I hate when that there was no blood. Um no blood.

There was a huge interruption during the trial, and everybody's like, eating the cats. So, um, so the kids who so oh it was her kids that the kids that accused her that were acting bizarre, and they said she was stabbing with the knife. She wasn't stabbing them, they were fine. Um, so they were just trying to create more of a nuisance to themselves. So, um there was, you know, a kid had brought a knife in and it was broken, but like nobody was being stabbed. Um, they took the knife away, said, Alright, knock it up, let's move forward.

So then Tatuba, when she gave her like um, you know, it was her trying to speak, she was like admitted to being like a devil worshiper, and that so she said that Good and Osborne were the ones that you know that she that were at fault. She didn't do anything. She said that Satan was dressed in all black and had asked him to sign a special book. She said that she had said no, but then she continued that saying that Good and Osborne were like, no, you have to sign the book. You have to sign so they made her.

Then she said there were nine more witches in Salem. So basically, she's going along with it. She's like, dude, I'm they already think I'm guilty. I might as well just go. Make a bit out of it.

But at the same time, Tatuba said that Sarah Good Um had attacked her, had attacked Elizabeth Hubbard by commanding her cat to scratch the girl. Oh no! What? Cats don't listen to anybody. No! Like, what the fuck?

Then she said, then she said that Good also had control of the birds, and that she would send the birds to bother all of the young girls. I would totally do that. And that she could see Good holding a yellow bird right there in the courtroom.

No, but but you know what? She was saying it. But this is the best part. So the accusers were like, Yeah, she's got the bird right now in the courtroom. And everybody's like, oh my god. There was no bird. There's no bird, but these dumb bitches are going along with it. Like, see, I told you, see, I told you they're like, oh no my god. So then, um, so then after you know, good was like trying to declare her in so Tibeta's examination led Good to declare her innocence, and then she said, then when it's Good's turn, she will like flip the script. She's like, actually, it was uh Tituba and Osborne, they were the witches, and um that so even though Sarah Osborne was like, No, I'm innocent.

Good, uh, she said that uh Tituba said that good and Osborne had threatened her life, and so why would you believe them? These two women threatened to kill me if I didn't sign their devil book, and so they're like, What the hell? They said if she didn't do it, they'd remove her head. So so then sh before Sarah Osborne even got a chance to defend herself, she died in jail. Probably because of the bread. Yeah, probably that happened on May 29, 1962. Um, they said it was because 1962.

So then I bookmark the book again, and I pick up the book of Gaia, and I'm like, there's gotta be something connecting this. There's no way that this, you know, historical event has my birthday and my sister's birthday both in it. It has there's gotta be something. Gotta be something. No, no. I mean, I was coincidence. Um, however, then I said- Why did you text me? I meant to text your sister. You guys look so much alike. Well, she was trying to call me. So, um, but it was wild because um, yeah, then I went down this whole rabbit hole of like the you know, the book of Gaia and everything else, and I started to learn about like numerology and stuff, and it's that's wild. I'm not even gonna talk about that because honestly, it's a lot. It was intense.

I was, I just kept reading more and more because this is a good thing.

Because solid week, she was like, the witch trials, the witch trials! It was not my birthday, my birthday, my birthday, my sister's birthday! Yeah, and I was just like, Mom, fucking look it, fucking look it up. I did look it up. I know, and then you were still tweaking about it because you were like so. There's no way, there's no way this is a coincidence. It's a coincidence.

Oh my god, it's the nine other witches. They're after the children. So then, um, so uh Anne Putnam Jr. Who names an Anne Jr.?

Mary Walcott and Mary Warman, Mary Warren were like all these kids, right? So Anne was one of the first three girls to claim that it was an issue. Um, and then and she accused like 50 people. What a bitch. I mean, she was just a kid. I don't remember how old she was. So then she could still be a bitch. Mercy Lewis, she was an orphan who was one of the Putnam servants, and um, she was close to Anne, and then Mary Walcott was, you know, Anne's best friend, and then Mercy was also their best friend, they were like all friends. So then after that, you know, she was also a servant for the Proctor family, right? So then they started to accuse people of practicing witchcraft. So uh Martha Corey, she was one of the people who's like, Why are you guys doing this? This is not true, you know. She's like, This is this can't be true, right? She's like, So guess what? Because she spoke out against it, she was accused. Witch! They said um they she said that the villagers were paranoid, and then since Anne was tired of her trying to fucking tell them that they weren't doing what they're supposed to because they weren't, um, she, you know, accused her of being a witch. So that was on March 12th, 1692. Seven days later, Abigail Williams accused another person. She was the OG. Abigail was the OG. Um, so then she um accused Rebecca Nurse, who is a 71-year-old woman, known for being devoted to the church. Like this is an old-ass woman, super religious. Um, honestly, don't know why they're gonna be.

Well, yeah, she got a few. So March 26th, they um there was another kid who was only four years old, Dorcas Good. Um she was accused of witchcraft. They they accused a four-year-old girl.

So um, two days later, Elizabeth Proctor was accused by Mercy Lewis, um, saying that she was haunting her in a ghostly image. She was saying that John Proctor had ignored Mary Warman Warren's claims that Gile that Giles Corey, the husband of Martha Corey, Giles Corey, like the like the like the uh like the music project, like the musician. Yeah, so she was saying that he was appearing to her too as a ghost, and they're like, what the heck?

So people are trying to like ignore them, and then they start to become more upset, and then they, you know, all the girls started targeting the Proctor family, saying that they were devil worshipers. So, anyways, um, Mercy fell into a mock trance and then said that she was being tormented by Elizabeth Proctor. So at first the community down, and they're like, well, now she's in a trance. So then they started to believe it. So um she said that once then Abigail Williams got involved too, and then she said that Elizabeth Proctor was a witch, and then because naturally, because now Abigail's in it, like, oh well, you know, she's she's obviously Samuel Parris' like niece and stuff, so she couldn't be a liar, she's a pastor's kid. So then um Sarah Clove, who on April 3rd, she was actually the next one who was a member of the witch hunt. Um, she was the sister of Rebecca Nurse, that old woman. Yeah. And since Rebecca, you know, was able to get people to like dismiss those claims, you know, because that ended up happening, they were like, oh yeah, no, she's innocent, she's fine. But then they went after her sister, and then they believed that it was a sister, so because her sister was accused, then naturally she had to be a witch if her sister was a witch, so games back on. Sorry, Rebecca. Okay, she's not gonna be able to nurse that. Sorry, you old short. So then what happened was when Sarah walked out early because she was upset from a church service. Um, John Paris started reading like John 670. Have I not chosen you 12 and one is a devil? So she was like, forget this, I'm out. Um, then after that, because she wasn't going along with it, then they were like, Yeah, no, you're a witch, and so's your sister too. So they went after all of them. Um, so even though uh Warren admitted that she had lied about the witches stating the other girls involved had also lied, um, ten days later, Ann Putnam Jr. Hey Jr., she accused another person. Giles Corey, once again, the husband of Martha. So basically, you know, she said he was spiritually attacking her. Well, naturally, why would she say it more than once? So, then guess what happened?

Um so this is when all the girls who started this in the first place, the same fucking girls, they're all on this group and they're just accusing all of these people together. I'm like, well, why would they all be saying it if it wasn't true? So then she said uh that bishop openly referred to Satan as her chosen God. Oh yeah, so then they said, then some people got on board and they were like, oh my god, Bishop harmed me too. So then they went after her, and then Richard Coleman and his wife said that Bishop regularly attached Bishop regularly attached to bed. And then another woman said that she would tear her clothing, even when she wasn't anywhere around her. Um, then a townsperson said that Bishop openly worshipped the devil, and Bishop's husband.

That I mean, that's what like basically they like you know went after him because he was poor. They're like, oh, I'm sorry, you can't be poor. So anyway, so now we got six people that are accused, right? So then things start to wrap up, right? Because this went on for a little over a year. It went on from like, oh gosh, let me think.

But meanwhile, when these people were accused, a lot of them just sat in jail, just rotted, just waiting. Like, could you imagine being in jail for 18 years?

Um, they actually just pardoned um Elizabeth Johnson Jr. That was one of the ones that wasn't mentioned. Um, 330 years later, she can you fucking imagine, dude? Exonerated. So they have lots of different stuff. They have a monument now in Salem for the witches, um, and it's actually really cool. Uh, they talk about so it's the Salem Witch Trials Memorial. There's quotes from the accused, but what happens is they don't have the complete quote up there. They stop the quote as if their voices were silenced before they got their freedom.

So they do have like um they have the Salem Wax Museum, which what they do is they have like storytellers that go through and they have like replicas where you walk through what it looked like back then and like wax figures and stuff like that. So um they have the witch museum, which has two different exhibits.

Which is evolving perceptions, exploring witchcraft in Europe and the history of scapegoating across America. So what they've done is they've taken this huge time full of ignorance and they've tried to create, like, you know, like they're like they're profiting off of it. Well, yeah, they are profiting, but they're also teaching people about it. You know, people aren't interested in something that unless they're entertained, which unfortunately is very shallow, but that's just how a lot of people are, you know. So it's like, hey kids, let's go on vacation to the history museum. They're gonna like, oh fuck, whatever. But you know, not me, I always love that shit. Me too. But like the thing is with uh Salem, like they've turned this horrible shit that happened in history, and yes, they do make money off of it. However, they're also teaching people about the level of ignorance that these people had, yeah, so that it's not repeated, you know. Um, they have the witch history museum, which it's like um which goes over which history museum were you talking about?

There's a lot, there's a lot. So um, they do have the only surviving building with uh direct ties to the trials. It was the home of uh what that shit sting Jonathan Corwin, um, and it's called the Witch House. Although Witch House. Well, the judge's house, of course. He wasn't even a witch. It's the witch house, but it's the judge's house. The judge wasn't a witch. So um they do have a witch dungeon museum.

Ah, maybe. But um, you know, the thing is, is like what caused the Salem witch trials was ignorance. First of all, ignorance, which is the most dangerous on the planet, um, and fear, you know. And also, you know, it was uh just people just not doing the right thing, you know, that people didn't have integrity, you know. They just they're like, I'm not gonna say anything because, you know, I don't want people to like, you know, come after me. And of course, these girls who were like acting just completely unhinged, you know, people didn't want to say, oh, well, you know, the pastor's daughter started it. Oh my gosh. Could you imagine like actually holding them accountable for being the little shits that they were?

Yeah, so I mean, and that's that's just a little bit of, you know, the history of the Salem witch trials. There's I could have talked about this forever, I gotta be honest.

There's so much, there's so much, but um, one thing that I took from all this is like the importance of trying to understand, you know, that like it's not our place to tell people, you know, what they should believe. You know, these most of the people that they went after were people that, you know, either left church early or they couldn't afford to go to church. And so what happened? Then they're labeled as devil worshippers and Satanists and witches and everything else. And it's like, you know, why why are you gonna do that?

If they worship the devil, wouldn't they have like a lot more money? See, this is what I don't get because a lot of people who still like think like this nowadays, they're like, oh, celebrities, they worship the devil, that's why they have so much money and power. But like back in the day during the Salem witch trials and just the witch trials and all that, oh, they worship the devil, that's why they're too poor to come to church. I don't get it. Like it it's flip-flopping. Why would you make a deal with the devil to be poor and then get killed for it? Like, are you serious? Oh, yeah, are they are they like, oh yeah, this guy's really stupid? Like you made a deal with the devil just to be poor and get killed for it because they were poor, judging people because they, you know, but then it like over the time it became like, oh, this guy's rich and famous and powerful. He must have made a deal with the devil. But then back then they were like, man, this guy's poor, he must worship the devil. So I don't get it. Cause like it's just is it rich people or poor people? People afraid to do the right thing. That's what it is. People never fucking they're never consistent when they're like pointing fingers at people.
