Hello everyone and welcome to the Faithfully Heart Podcast. It's Joy, and today this episode is all about my mission trip starting Sunday to Thursday. Um, because last week we talked about Monday through Saturday, and now we will move on. But first let's do our game. So this is like a who am I game, but all the people are Bible characters. So here we go. Number one, I was a man who obeyed God and built something very large before a worldwide flood. People didn't understand what I was doing, but I kept God or I kept going because I trusted God's warning. Pretty obvious it's Noah. Number two, I was a prophet who ran away from God's command and tried to sail away. Be Jonah. Number three, I was a shepherd boy who wasn't expected to be chosen for anything big, but God saw my heart and I later faced a giant warrior that everyone else was afraid of. That would be David. And number four, I was raised in Egypt and later chosen by God to lead his people out of slavery. I stood before Pharaoh and saw God perform many powerful miracles through me. That would be Moses. Um, I was a young woman taken into a royal palace. Later I became queen and had to make a brave decision that could have cost me my life, but it saved my people. That would be Esther. And then number six, I was a faithful man who prayed even when I when it went against the law. Because of my faithfulness, I was thrown into a dead den of lions, but God kept me safe. Obviously, Daniel. Um, I was known for my strength, which came from a special calling from God, but I was betrayed when someone discovered the secret of my strength. That'd be Samson. Number eight, I was one of Jesus' closest followers. I was bold and outspoken, but I also made mistakes and denied him during a very difficult moment. That would be Peter. Number nine, I worked collecting taxes for the Romans before I was called to follow Jesus. After that, I became one of his disciples and wrote about his life. That'd be Matthew, and then lastly, number ten, I strongly opposed followers of Jesus Christ until I had a life-changing encounter. After that, I became one of the most important teachers of the early church. That would be Paul. I don't know if that one was like harder or what. But okay, well, I hope you enjoyed that little game. And now let's do our prayer requests. So I have two unspokens that I would like to pray for, and that's all. So um, and you know what I've decided? I so I decided sorry. You know what I've decided? I have decided that we are going to go back to highs and lows because most likely every prayer request I mentioned will be unspokens. Um, but feel free to still reach out to me anytime with your prayer requests. And now let's get on with the lesson or recap. So first we'll start with Sunday. So the missionary page is set for church around the same time he did every morning, and we had breakfast at the church again. Um and for Sunday school I taught the well, I know there were K5 in there. Um, and it was a pretty big class, honestly, just saying. And a lot of kids acted and looked like a yacht lot, sorry, I cannot talk today, a lot younger than they were. So um, it might have been like K4 and maybe K3 mixed in there too. I don't know. They were really little though, and it was a really good class. They weren't the best behaved class, but overall they were genuinely a good class. Um, and then we had the main service, and I got to be in the main service, and our pianist actually got to sing because she usually has to sing while she's playing the piano sitting down. So one of the Spanish-speaking piano players doesn't understand English, actually got to play for her, and I know she really enjoyed that. And my grandpa actually gave the message message, and it was about serving God with your whole heart, and it was really good. And there was this really sweet girl named Marcella, um, she's 21, and her mom's name was Ileana, I think. And the daughter spoke English, and she was so sweet getting pictures with us and stuff, um, and just asking us questions about America and stuff like that. And then we just had a regular night service, um, and actually it was really sweet because all these girls were coming up to us, um, asking for autographs. Um, it was really cute. And then um that was probably like all the English they knew, but it was literally the sweetest thing ever. Um, and now we go to Monday, and Monday was kind of like a rest day, so we actually went to a place called Antigua. So um we got there. It was about a two-hour drive from where we were, and um we went on this really, really, really choppy boat to this island, and there was like little shops and stuff. I got a couple things for my friends, and then some like clock clips and stuff. Um, and it was really fun. And then we went to a hotel. It was so nice, it was like so tropical and stuff, and it was just so relaxing, and they had I got Domino's pizza, so what them all in. Um, but yeah. Um, and now we go to Tuesday. Oh, also on Monday we saw like this big Catholic church, and it was so creepy. Now we go to Tuesday, so um, I actually did this zip line um over like two mountains, and it was like eight ziplines. You hiked this huge thing with the missionary's daughter and our dads, so it was really good, like daddy-daughter time, I guess you could say, and then one guy from our church. But yeah. And then um, we did four-wheeling on actual roads, and I don't even know how to drive a car, let alone a four-wheeler. So, um, that was it was actually really fun. I got the hang of it, and I was like passing people and like doing the curves and stuff. It was awesome. I would totally do it again. And now we go to Wednesday, so we had breakfast at the church again, um, back where we were, and really just gave out tracks. And then onto Wednesday night we had church, and I taught the K5. Um uh again, and I gave them little stickers and cowtails, and they loved it. Um, and then Thursday, it's really boring. We just packed up and flew home. And we almost missed our second flight, but thank you, Jesus, we all made it onto the plane like 30 seconds before they closed the gate, and they already had a delay at like 15 minutes for us. So now I'm gonna tell you all that I learned on this trip. So, um really I didn't say this up at church. I tried to, but I couldn't. It was about um how this Guatemala looks so good on the outside and how beautiful it is, how you can see everything in America, the scenery, all that they have. Then you get into the heart of it where they're poor and they don't know Jesus. You get into their hearts and how they live, and it was just really eye-opening to see how much we have and what we take for granted, and when you go without something, you honestly don't know how you're gonna go without it, and you need more of that right now. But they they barely even have one, and it's amazing to see. Um, but make sure to check out our Instagram page, and thank you so much for listening, and I'll see you next week. Bye.
