With a "This or That!" game!
Hello everyone and welcome to the Fifth Fleehear podcast. It's Joy, and today we are going to continue our chapter in Proverbs walkthrough because it's now May and go to Proverbs 2. But first let's do a quick game before we get started. And for that game today, we are going to go back to the very first type of game we ever did on this podcast, a this or that. So I have 10 questions and I'll read the question and then give you a couple seconds to think and then I'll tell you what I would do. Alright, let's go. Number one, what would or would you rather be able to fly or be invisible? I'd probably pff no, actually I'd be invisible. So I could like eavesdrop really easily. Number two, would you rather know the future or be able to change the past? I think I'd be able to know the future. I don't know why. Number three, would you rather be super famous or super rich? I think I'd rather be like super rich. And like I don't know. Number four, would you rather live in the mountains or by the beach? I probably honestly live in the mountains. But they're like really close. I don't really have one I'd rather do, but if I had to pick one right now, I'd do mountains. Um the next one, would you rather have unlimited time or unlimited money? I think I'd rather have unlimited money. Um, would you rather drink pickle juice or eat a spoonful of mustard? Oh, I'd rather drink pickle juice in a heartbeat. I hate mustard and I hate pickle juice, but still. Um would you rather never brush your teeth again or never shower again? I'd probably never brush my teeth again. Cause I could just like do mouthwash and floss and have like minte gum. I know that's like not how you clean your teeth, but still. Would you rather always be 10 minutes late or 20 minutes early? I would be 20 minutes early for life because we're always late to everything. Just kidding, that's a lie. Um, next one, would you rather have a rewind button or a pause button for life? I think I'd have a rewind button. And then the next one, would you rather trip a little every single time you walk into a room or wave back at people who weren't actually waving at you for the rest of your life? I'd rather trip every single time walked into a room, which would still be embarrassing, but I hope you enjoy that little game. Now we can do our highs and lows. Um my high was that I have a concert today for my school, so I guess it really hasn't happened yet, but I've gotten out of a lot of classes to practice for it, so it's been very nice. And my low is that I guess this is kind of silly, but um on Monday I was in world studies, so like history, and my teacher was in the middle of talking, and my stomach growls so loud. And I know, and I promise that the people on either side of me, because I'm in the middle of my room and it's two boys and it's the worst, I know that they were pretending not to notice, but it was so loud. And my friend after I asked her if she heard, and she was like, Oh, that was you? And she was on the other side of the room. It was terrible. But let's just get into our lesson now. So we are gonna be reading Proverbs 2, and if you have your Bible, we are in the King James Version, KJV. Um, or you can just sit back um and follow along, relax, and listen as I read. So let's read Proverbs two. And if I mess up on some words, it's 'cause the print in this Bible I'm reading from is like super, super small. So here we go. My son, if thou wilt receive my words and hide my commandments with thee, so that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom and apply thy heart to understanding. Yea, if thou criest after knowledge and liftest up thy voice for understanding, if thou seekest her as silver and searchest for her as hide hid treasures, thou shalt know er sorry, then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God, for the Lord giveth wisdom, out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding, he layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous, he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly, he keepeth the path of judgment and preserveth the way of his saints, then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment and equity, yea, every good path, when wisdom entereth into thine heart and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul, discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee, to deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh forward things, who leave the paths of uprightness to walk in the ways of darkness, who rejoice to do evil and delight in the forwardness of the wicked, whose ways are crooked, and they forward in their paths, to deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth her with her words, which forsaketh the guide of her youth and forgetteth the covenant of her God, for her house inclineth unto death, and her path unto the dead. None that go unto her return again, neither take thy hold of the paths of life, that thou mayest walk in the way of good men and keep the path of the righteous, for the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it, but the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it. So um now I'm going to tell you some things that I learned from that chapter, reading it previously, and then some things that you could take away from it. So there were specifically three verses that really just stood out to me, and we can start with verse six, um, and that says, For the Lord giveth wisdom, and out out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. So that's saying, like, wisdom, true wisdom, comes from God, and that he is the one you should come to. And don't get me wrong, it's great to come to your parents with questions, awesome, great, but at the end of the day, God is the one who we should really come to to ask for wisdom. Um, and the next verse is 21, which says, For the upright shall dwell in the land and the perfect shall remain in it. That's saying um people who have a good relationship with God in this verse, um, when they say, um, in this verse, actually, when they say um the perfect shall remain in it, it's meaning the blameless um when they say perfect. So they're living for God, um, they're trustworthy, um, and so on. But anyway, sorry. It's saying that if you stay with God, it will lead to a good walk and relationship with Him. Um, and lastly, verse 22, which says kind of like the opposite. It says, But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it. So this is like the opposite of what we just read. Um, it's saying that um it's saying what will happen if we aren't following God in his will. It's saying that we will be cut off from God, and we will lose that relationship with him, and we will end up having to face the consequences of the wrong decisions we make. Um, and then something we can all learn from this chapter in Proverbs 2 is we should seek God for our wisdom and desire to follow his ways, and he helps us, he's gonna help um guide us to make good choices and keep us from pasts that can hurt us. Um, it also shows that living the right way um brings stability and peace in life, but choosing to ignore God's wisdom leads to trouble and distance from what is good for us. And yeah, that's pretty much all I have for today. So make sure you check out our Instagram page at FaithfullyHurt Podcast. And make sure to tune in next week to see what the next episode will be. And I'll see you next week on the Faithfully Her podcast. Bye.
