Uh, you know, I mean, and if I'm fortunate to have no gigs on the weekend, do you know how relaxing, refreshing, uh uh appreciative that I could just enjoy the weekend for myself to chill with my family and everything? Oh man, I really, really enjoy a weekend off. You know what I mean? Um I'm looking forward to a weekend out of town with the family off. Like, you know what I mean? Um, that should be coming up very soon. So we're looking up for that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Not too sure where, but um, that should be coming up very soon. Um, you know what I mean? Wifey's celebrating her birthday, you know what I mean, in May. She's a Taurus as well, right after my birthday in April. Yeah, after all my festivities, which we'll get into, you know what I mean? It's her birthday. In the middle of my birthday, it's, you know, my son's birthday. He's like the last day of the Aries. So yeah, it's really him one week, the next week is me, and the next week is is her. So you could imagine how much money is being spent. So, yeah, man. So, one of the things I want to talk about that happened over the weekend, and and and it was um, I enjoyed it. I loved to see it, but it was also something that made me say, hmm, what you know I mean? Okay, there was um an award appreciation day. There was giving out streets names to certain figures, artists, um, influencers that has been legendary here in Miami. Um, so I looked at the list and I saw a whole bunch of lists of people, such as Uncle Luke, um uh Two Life Crew, DJ Khaled, uh Trina, Rick Ross, JT Money, and the list goes on. Um, and congratulations to everybody that got an award or that got a street named after them. Congratulations. I I love to see it. You know what I mean? I I'm I'm you know, soak it in, soak it in. But there were some names on the list, which, and and please don't take it as no disrespect. There were some names on the list that I I I just kind of wondered how they got to skip the line. Um, yeah, they they skipped the line. Real talk. They skipped the line because there was names I was wondering why they wasn't on the list. You know what I mean? So, you know, I I I I'm looking at this list and I'm like, dude, how did this person get on the list? This person get on the list, and this person, but you disrespected and did not put uh Coochie Crew, Disco Rick, Anquinet, DJ Laz, and most importantly, how you not gonna put DJ Epps? So I say this, it's always politics, right? It's who knows who. That's what it is. Maybe I'm not down with their squad, maybe we're not down with, but how you not gonna put DJ Laz? The one person before me was out there representing, you know, I mean, not just hip hop, but all the Latinos and all the artists that he was playing on the music on the radio, and like how you're not gonna put DJ Laz? How you not gonna put DJ Disco Rick? How you not gonna put Disco Rick? How you not gonna put the do you know this man did joints for Lil John, did joints from Bone Thugs and Harmony, did so much for Miami, disco Rick and the dog Gucci crew. Like, how would you not put this man in that? You know what I mean? It's mind bothering me. Yo, listen, I'm from New York. I was raised and born in St. Luke's Hospital, Manhattan, New York. But even me, even I know the history of Miami to tell you that, yo, you done missed out on a couple legendary, including myself DJ apps. You know how much I've done for this city in the past three decades? You know what I accomplished? Do you know I was one of the mainstream DJs to have his own mainstream party first on South Beach? What happened? South Beach doesn't count as Miami? Well, like, do you not recognize I was probably one of the only DJ that's been on all three radio stations and shut them down here? Like, how you not? Oh my god, it was just bothering to me that somebody ignored all of this, skipped all of this, and then I see other people on the list, and I'm like, how did they skip the line? There's people that was that passed away, that done so much for the city, and they still haven't got you know recognized. I'm talking about bezel, talking about Toro, I'm talking about DWO Dewberry. Like, come on, guys, man. When it comes to, you know, the offices and and and and uh and the you know the mayor of Miami and the the chiefs of Miami, only person I know is Keon Hardman. That's it. That's the only person uh uh I'm familiar with is Keon Hardeman. And Keon, I hope you can help me make this happen. But I think I need some type of recognition, some type of award, some type of street name after me. I don't know. Can you help me out? Miami, can you help me out? 305, can you help me out? Because this is gonna be a discussion. This is gonna be talked about. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one that's gonna bring it up. I'm I promise you, I am not the only one that's gonna bring it up. So I just wanted to get that off my chest. It's very, very mind-bothering that, you know, there were some names missed on that list, some names that was not recognized, some names that didn't get appreciated, didn't get their award. You know what I mean? So, me, DJ Epps, I'm gonna give the award to myself. DJ Epps, King of Miami. That's that. Hands down, those that don't like it, oh well, that's me. I'm also gonna give recognition to Disco Rick. You know what I mean? Gucci crew, DWO. You know what I mean? Yeah, yeah, you gotta give it to them. You gotta give it to them. Anquinette. You know what I mean? Sugarhead uh Sugar Hill DJs, Jam Pony Express DJs. How you not gonna give these guys an award? I'm from New York and I know this history. Come on, man. DJ Laz, give that man a name, a street after him. Give it to him. Like, come on, what's going on? Everyone knows the truth. The lack of recognition is disrespectful. It is, it is, it absolutely is. The disrespect is diabolical. You deserve it all. Oh, thank you. I appreciate you, Kev. You know what I mean? And once again, I'm not just gonna speak for myself. I'm gonna speak for all the names that wasn't recognized that are legends that has done so much for the city, has put in so much time and work into the city. Like, what's going on, South Florida? South Florida official 305. If you got something to do with it, help me out. Help me out. So, you know, that's one of the things that I I saw this weekend. It was a little bothering to me, but I also enjoyed and salute to everybody that got an award that got a street name after them. Big shot to Rick Ross, big shot to Trina, JT Money, Uncle Luke, Two Life Crew. Um, um, I think Pretty Ricky was on the list. There's a lot of uh people that was on the Major Nine, you know what I mean? Uh shout to my boy Case, you know what I mean? Shout to my boy Buster Free, shout to, you know, I mean, a lot of people that was on there, man. Big up Khaled, of course. Khaled got like three streets named after them, but y'all don't want to give one a DJS. Like, what's going on? I'm not hating on my boy Khaled. He deserves it all, of course. But don't act like there ain't no other DJs. DJ Nasty, I think he deserves something, some type of appreciation. Something. Like, come on, man. Y'all act. Listen, listen, listen, stop it. Miami, stop it, all right? But I salute you guys. Continue to love. You know what it is. Phil was popping. They love to use us for the culture advertising, but pretend that it doesn't exist any other time. C Note. That sounds absolutely right. That sounds absolutely right. So, yeah, man, I wanted to say what's up to Miami and congratulate to everybody that got their award and everything. So this weekend also was um Miami Music Week. Now, understand this Miami Music Week. This is that weekend, you know, where everybody comes out and party for about, you know what I mean? Three, four, seven, twelve, maybe twenty fours all weekend long listening to that EDM. Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. EDM. Me, I love it for this much, but I I I can't I can't deal with it all weekend. Traffic be crazy. People be drugged out. I hope you are dehydrated. I hope you had some water in between your whatever you're doing. You know what I mean? Whatever you're doing. But big up to Miami Music Week. Another weekend of just great EDM festivities. Um, a lot of EDM great DJs passed to and and shut it down. You know what I mean? So, you know, it was it was a great weekend. Put my name on a check, not on the streets. You know what? I love that. Yes. Yes. But still, we want recognition. Alright. It's absolutely nuts out here. It's crazy. Phil was popping. Rock was good. Shuttle NYC, my boy, was good. West Coast in the building. Shimmer was good. Yeah, man. So yeah, Miami Music Week. How many hours were you up? Were you out there? Were you holding it down? How many hours were you up? What kind of drugs did you take? Were you on that weed? Were you on that Molly? Ecstasy? You know what I mean? Were you on that white girl? Like, you know what I mean? Just real talk. That's that's what the weekend is all about. Like, and the aftermath, sometimes they laid out on the sidewalk. You know what I mean? With their panties hanging out. Some of them are just crashing out on their scooters. Like, it could get a little wild on Miami Music Week. You know what I mean? But if you made it back home safe and you had a great time, hey, congratulations to you. All right. Um, also over the weekend, Chris Brown out there kissing married women. Now, I want to ask this question to all the married women out there. Where do you think, how do you think this is all acceptable for you to jump on stage and think that you could just tongue down Chris Brown? Bars. Nah, seriously. Like, first of all, fellas, would you allow this? The man that I saw, it looked like he allowed it. He was probably a little disgusted, but it looked like he allowed it. This probably was a uh an argument in the way back home or at home, like it something had to happen, but you know, women, how you go do this? And then you're gonna go tell us men that we're the weak ones. Oh men, they're weak. They're weak for temptation. But this one, the married one, is up there on the stage tonguing down Chris Brown in front of her married man. Like, come on. Stop saying men are weak. Stop that it. Stop saying men are weak. Women, you're just as horrible. I'm sorry. Let me just keep it 100 with you. After that despicable, disgusting scene of Chris Brown tonguing down a married woman. That married woman didn't think about her married man right there in front of the stage watching this. What is going through your mind, girl? Who are you? Who are you? They need to have a street naming ceremony for just DJs. Kev, I like the way you're thinking. I like the way you're thinking, because once again, DJ Epp should have a street name after him, DJ Lash should have a street name. Mr. Mauricio, DJ Nasty, DJ Entice. You know what I mean? Yo, yeah, you're absolutely right. You're absolutely right. Nah, no, Nessa. I saw him, he was right in the front of the stage, and he had the disgusted face, like, what are you doing? Like, yo, no, no, no. His her man was there. Probably bought the tickets. Pack her up, get her out of there. She weak. She's weak. Ilville was popping, man. Ilville, I was talking about the girl, the married woman, was tonguing down Chris Brown right in front of her married man and right then the concert. Like, who does that? Weak women. And you remembered that she was an uh individual that interviewed you back in the days, I think when you were in high school or college, whatever, and she said some stuff about you, and you remember it till this day, and you checked that that day, like, yeah, I remember you. You was the one that said, Yeah, I remember. I love that. I love that. Now, I also saw that there was some females uh uh, you know, telling her, hey man, you know, that wasn't cool. You know what I mean? That wasn't cool that you did that, and then you had the nerve to go on the red carpet and interview him again and try to listen, man. Like pack your tail up and keep it moving.
