Happy Monday, ladies and gentlemen. Yes, the first Monday of June, June 1st. Oh man, we are here. Summertime. We ready? Even though I promise you, and I don't want it to, but it's gonna go by like that quick. It's gonna go by like that quick. Summertime is about to be a wrap. I got a letter from my daughter's school talking about school opens back up August 10th. What the hell? What do you mean, August 10th? Do these kids have summertime vacation anymore? August 10th, they go back to school. I remember when we used to go back to school after Labor Day weekend. Like, what the hell are y'all doing, school? What's going on? What's going on? Jesus, I'm telling you, they're out of school by next month. Man, it's gonna be rap. It's done. It's yo, they're back in school. Which I am not mad at it. You know what I mean? Because you know, the alone time, the quiet time when they're in school here is is is well needed over here. I'm gonna be honest with you, but damn it, man. Poor kids, they don't got no type of summertime action. You know what I mean? Man, man, oh man. Oh man, shout to everybody in the building. Mark Payne was popping. Um Joker was good, Vic was good. Uh Goyabin was popping. PP Umstrong in the building. Hefe was good. Nino was good, man. Ladies and gentlemen, we got some things to talk about, and I'm gonna be honestly, I'm gonna be honest with you. The things I want to talk about is probably gonna be this one subject, this whole show, and that whole show is Hove. Jay-Z, Sean Carter. Let me tell you something, man. Man, I ain't gonna lie, I kind of woke up today on this beautiful Monday a little upset, a little bothered. You know what I mean? It's like, you know, I read blogs, I see, you know, people talking, yapping, this, you know what I mean? And then I see a couple of people defending Hove. But man, first off, let me go ahead and congratulate and tell Jay-Z what a great job you did at the Roots Picnic. That was absolutely phenomenal. From your lyrics to your your your your gear to your even your hair. Like, salute. Nobody didn't know you was gonna spit those type of bars, nobody was gonna know you was gonna come out looking like bone thugs in harmony or easy e. Nobody didn't know that. And nobody knew that you was gonna do uh a roots picnic concert like that. Oh my god. Like, let me tell you something, man. That's how it's supposed to be done. We seen shows all around, we seen people performing, we see that's how it's supposed to. That man showed you how it's supposed to. That boy put the blueprint out again. Yes, he did. Good morning, Wendy. It's a problem, Goya Bean. I appreciate you, man. Hey, you know what I mean? Saturday night ride, all the DJs that pay attention and listen, man. I appreciate the love, man. That's nine o'clock Saturday. Rock the bell, Sirius XM. So yeah, Jay-Z, congratulations, man. Cuz man, it was well needed. I'm pretty sure to others a lot, it was refreshing. Now, why I woke up, mad. There's a lot of people that get on social media, especially the gram, and they start talking and they start yapping. And honestly, I listen to them and they don't know what the hell they're saying. They don't, they have no clue what the fuck they saying. Oh, I'm gonna let these motherfuckers know. Listen, let me tell you something. You're talking because of social media. You you need you need eyes on your page, that's why you're talking. So you want to talk to see if everybody will be like, ooh, what did he say? Let me come on his page, and you probably get some likes or views or whatever. But real talk, you need to talk that real shh. And the real shit is Hove did damage this weekend. Those that go online and say, Oh, I couldn't believe what Hove did. Oh, Hove sucked. Oh, this is the best one right here. Oh, I don't understand what Hove was saying. He wasn't kicking no bars. Are you out your freaking rabbit mind? No wonder you don't understand what the man is saying. You have no clue what bars mean. Only bars you know is Nestle Crunch bars, Kit Kat bars. That's the only bars you know. Let me tell you something, man. If you know bars, if you know poetry, if you know lyrics, if you know rap music, you will know how to dissect what that man said and did. It's absolutely true. Like you would dissect what he said and what he did. And for those that don't understand what he said, for those that don't understand what he said, you're absolutely what he is saying. You're miseducated, and he broke it down Lauren Hill style, he broke it down with Lauren Hill metaphor, status. Um, yo, honestly, the word says it all. You're miseducated, and part of that rhyme, he's showing everybody from influencers and people on the gram to Drake, Nicki Minaj, Dame Dash, whoever. You're miseducated, and this man is running rap laps around your favorite rappers right now. Yo, first of all, a lot of people was like, yo, man. Yo, this generation of people are cooked, they have no idea what bars are. They don't, they don't, they don't. Yo, let me tell you something. You know, there's Marvin Gay, and there's Trey Songs. There's Biggie and Tupac, Kerry Swan, Eric B and Rockham, and there's Boss Man D'Oh Young Miami. Um, you know what I mean? Uh you know what I mean? You understand what I'm saying? There's there's listen man. There's Jay-Z and there's Drake. You know what it is about the difference about all of them I just said. There's greats and there's today. There's greats and there's today. Some of y'all are disrespecting the greats. Why y'all dissing it? Because of social media. Cause you think you got a mouth and you can say whatever you want. Yeah, you got your opinion. You do, you truly do. Hey, I get it. There's Rock M, there's Max B. I'm like, yo, I'm telling you, there's greats, and there's today. And one thing y'all did that upset me, or what I see on the gram is yeah, yeah, yeah, disrespect that man, Jay-Z. He didn't have to go on the mic and say what he said. But then again, in his heart, his soul, he had to say something. Because y'all was taking jabs at him, y'all was bothering him. You know when they say you poke the bear, the bear's gonna wake, you're gonna, you know what I mean? Listen, man. Ty Niddy in the build of infamous mob, and I know Ty Nitty knows exactly what I'm talking about. Like, y'all was taking jabs at this man in Hove. And just cuz, just because that man got on the mic before he started his whole show and addressed something, and y'all call it rap beef. This is a part I also am laughing at and a little upset at. Y'all call it rap beef. You really think that man kicked some lyrics on some beef shit? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Y'all funny, y'all funny. That man got no beef with nobody, not no Nicki Minaj, not no Drake, definitely not no Dame Dash. Like, he don't got beef with none of y'all. Will he address what's being said about him? And and of course, of course. Does he have to? No, he don't have to, but he felt like he wanted to, and he did. And once he did, y'all out here saying that, oh, that was whack. Oh, you know, first you said you don't do rap beef, and now you're up here taking shots. Man, I wasn't even shots. You know what that was? Burr! That's what that was. That's what that was. Yeah, man. Come on, man. Come on, man. I saw academics say, oh man, hove, take your old ass back home. You don't want it with Drake. Drake Penn is is is nothing to be messed with, is on a different level, is his exact words. You're right. Drake Penn is on another level. Not the level of Jay-Z, not the level of Hove, that's for sure. Hell, Hove don't use a pen. Fuck you talking about? What are we talking about? What are we talking about? Oh, I'm gonna let these motherfuckers know today. I woke up a little bothered and upset. Y'all out there trying to diss one of the greatest of all time. What where is this disrespectful juice coming from? Like, are you serious? Drake's pen is on another level. You're absolutely right, Drake is dope. His pen is incredible. But if you want to compare it and put it next to Jay-Z, you know what? Before this uh Root's picnic happened, my son had asked me a couple of days before. He asked me a couple of days before his exact question was, Dad, do you think Jay-Z is the greatest, one of the greatest of all time, better than Drake? I gave him this look like in the comment box. Do you think Jay-Z is one of the greatest of all time compared to Drake? Like, I looked at my son and I'm like, yo, son. You wasn't born, you wasn't there to understand and to see what Jay-Z did and how he said it and how he delivered it. You weren't there. You you you you you woke up, you were born, and you happened to know of Jay-Z. You don't know what he did, how he did it. It's no question, you're absolutely right. And I told him that, and and me and my son slightly had a debate. He, you know, he really thinks Drake is better than Jay-Z, greatest of all time rapper than Jay-Z. And I'm not gonna argue with the man, and I'm not gonna I'm not gonna sit here and and and debate with my son about that, because you know, these YNs don't know. They don't know. It it it it you know, it it it's I don't want to say sad, but it they really don't know. They really don't know. Like, what was that the Jay-Z song? They don't know what they do, sure. I do. Let me tell you something, man. My son was really going back and forth with me about this. Jay-Z is the bar. Absolutely, absolutely. So, when that couple of days when that picnic happened, and Hove said what he said on that stage and killed the algorithm. I looked at my son and I was like, You see, I I hit him with the on my Haitians. You know what that Upawe? Yes, sir. I hit my son with like, you see, and that's why Jay-Z is one of the greatest of all time. GOAT status at its finest. I don't like doing shit like that, but I had to hit him with the I told you so. Yeah, he didn't have to address that, but he did, man. He we had to address it, man. Yo, like I said, today I woke up a little bothered, upset. You know, I mean, watching everybody. I saw somebody just getting all loud and routed up and angry. Fuck y'all talking about? Jay-Z didn't say shit. I didn't understand what Jay-Z said in that rhyme. Y'all talking about he's going bar for bar. What did he say? What did he say? What did you absolutely are miseducated? You don't know what that man said, you never will. You're as dumb as you sound and look on Instagram talking about you don't know what Jay-Z said. Dude, there were some shots that was absolutely low-key funny, funny, funny, but you still wouldn't understand the joke. You know how when somebody tells a joke and somebody's like this and they don't understand. That's you. That's you talking about you don't understand what Jay-Z said. What Jay Z, what was the bar that Jay-Z said? You know what? Just stop listening to hip hop. Just stop listening to hip-hop. Go listen to all that other stuff that makes you dance and twerk. This right now, what happened this weekend should absolutely separate bars and hit records. And to those that said, Oh, you know, he was on an interview with I think Complex, whatever, and he was saying, um, you know, rap beef shouldn't be part of hip hop no more. And then now he goes on stage and he's taking shots at everybody. Once again, that man did not beef on his lyrics, on his freestyle, or whatever he said on stage. You know what beef is when it comes to rap? Fuck your bitch and the click you claim. That's beef, man. I fucked your wife. That's beef. That's beef. That man didn't go on stage and did that. Hove didn't go on stage and did that. Hove just went and addressed some things that were just said about him and gave his opinion. He might have said it a little tiny bit aggressively, but he did. That's not beef. That was just saying, yo, listen, this guy said this. Are you really? Oh, are you kidding me? Let me tell you this. And you need a B to come on, man. You need a B to say my name. Clever shit, light work, honestly, honestly, light work, but so effective. So effective. Oh man. Trigger. Happy birthday. Yeah. Them subliminal lines and bars. Man, go back to school. You don't understand it, you don't know. Go back to school because you're miseducated. You are out here looking like and sounding like Lauren Hill. Misseducated. Why I keep saying miseducated? Go back and listen to what he said. And listen to those bars. And the people that was involved with Lauren Hill and her album and Killing Me Softly and everything. Yo, he is basically telling those people and the aftermath uh influencers and academic and all these other people that's dissing Jay-Z. You're miseducated. He lined it up. He lined it up for you guys. He knew once he said those words, that lyrics, those bars, he knew it. That they will get on the gram and say this, this, this, that about Jay-Z. Shit. I heard a whole club full of barbs talking about fuck Jay-Z, fuck Jay-Z. I saw it, I laughed. I laughed. I laughed because that boy took over the algorithm. Y'all wanted to take shots at him, right? Yeah, y'all, y'all once upon a time made the algorithm shake. Oh. He woke up that morning and said, Yo, B, I'm about to say this bar is a the root pick, nigga. Beyonce looked at him like, oh, the world's about to get it. The world's about to get it. Toriella, how you doing? He did spoken words, freestyle. Oh man. And let me tell you something too. People keep saying freestyle. Obviously, y'all still don't understand the word, the meaning of freestyle. That man wasn't freestyling. That was written to sh to tell you guys how he felt. It was written. It wasn't a freestyle. It was written. It was a bar-to-bar spoken poetry. Lyrics for you guys to digest, and half the world couldn't even swallow it. Mm mm. Couldn't even swallow it. And they asked Here talking shit about ho. How dare you? How dare you? Oh man. Alright, man. Look, I told you today's let these motherfuckers know vlog. The whole thing was Jay-Z. I knew this was gonna happen. A lot of people's gonna wait for this um concert in New York Stadium, New York Yankee Stadium with Hove. That concert is going to be bananas. One soul up. That concert is gonna be absolutely phenomenal. You know what's the worst part is? All y'all that was talking shit about Hove, some of y'all gonna be at that concert. Some of y'all going to be at that concert. He clown Nikki. He clowned Nikki. Loki, he clowned Nikki. That's what I was talking about. We laughing at some of these jabs lyrics that were said about Nikki and Dame Dash and Drake. One thing I I do I do need answers to. Like I was very happy to see the whole entire Rockefeller on stage with him. That was a beautiful look for hip hop, for the culture. It was, it was. But I still don't I and I'ma I'm I'm gonna look into it. I still don't understand how Beanie Siegel got on that stage after Beanie was feeling some type of way of how Hove treated him back in the days, left him hanging back in the days, and so on. Y'all know that story? Hmm. Yeah, Beanie wasn't it wasn't sitting right with Beanie, how Hove treated him, left him hanging after Beanie had to go do some time and stuff like that. But he got on the stage and did that little Rockefeller reunion. I uh I would like to understand what was uh Beanie Siegel's mind frame with that decision he made. I would like to know what was um the discussion of what happened and where we at now and come on stage and let's do this. I would like to know more of that. All right, man. Let me go continue my Monday's top of the week, man. I woke up a little bothered, but hopefully I let all that tension out. Yeah. Oh yeah. Yeah. Oh yeah. So we're gonna be back tonight at 10 o'clock. I didn't want to let nobody disturb my inner peace, but it was just really eating me up alive. Like the the world doesn't know, the world is just different, man. That's why I, you know, I stay to my okay. World is different, all right? That's all I gotta say. No, I don't speak French, I speak Creole. French is very different from Crayol, but you know, not too different, but you know. Yes, I was Haitian. Also, I am from New York City, born in St. Luke's Hospital, Manhattan, New York. Yep. A lot of people thought I was here in Miami, live in Miami, born in Miami. Yes, I live here, but I was not born here. Miami adopted me. Miami made DJ apps, but I was raised and born in New York. And and, you know, by the time I I hit you know teenage status, I moved down here to Miami. So New York is all me. Spanish Harlem, Harlem, Manhattan, all me. And that's why you probably hear that New York accent too. Or you you you notice that, you know, in my mix, I like to blend everything. I'm not just a Miami nigga. I hear playing Miami music. So it's French. My first name is French. Eve. Yeah, like Eve Saint. It's French. All right, guys. Time for me to get up out of here. I'm gonna see you tonight. 10 o'clock, New Music Radio. That's what it is, man. Y'all behave. Have a great day. Top of the week, you already know. It's your boy DJ Epps. Let these motherfuckers know vlog. You know how we do. Holla.
