SPEAKER_01Welcome to Dare God Podcast. My name is Tanisha Wright. I am your host. I would like to welcome you and ask that you be prayerful as we discuss the topic at hand on today. We are in episode three, and what we would like to discuss today is the remnants of generational curses and how God allowed me to move forward with my life regarding generational curses, how I utilize prayer to get through the suffering and the reconstruction of my life. So as I stated in previous, the previous podcast that my grandmother gave me insight of why we were suffering so from generational curses. Generational curses were a part of my life like a cult. It was just a negative, uh detrimental aspect that followed me for years. And I was so immune to the suffering because I witnessed my grandmother and my aunties and my mom suffer. So unintentionally, I guess we became immune to it and long suffering of suffering as though it was the norm. And so God really had to transform my mental capacity to state, hey, this is not the will for you that I have for your life. God had to really allow me to state, you don't have to accept this way of living. So I began to really do my homework pertaining to generational curses. I would study a lot with Kenneth Copeland. I would study with TD Jakes. I will study Joyce Meyer. She helped me out a lot, her ministry. I will study with my A.R. Williams. He taught in depth about generational curses. So I began to do the framework. And I was so elated. Now with generational curses and asking God to heal you from the trauma and to walk in the newness of life is not an overnight success. But with God, the journey can be so educated and liberating that you become this new creature in Christ, that you see a trauma as an opportunity to bring forth love and also change the trajectory of someone else's life. And so what I loved about the journey was that God was able to touch my life in areas where I didn't know I needed to be healed. And it stated that God is the God of ancient of days. And I took that as revelation for me that he can go back in time and heal you of unspoken trauma. And so that's what he did for me. So how God set it up for me, I was had I was in counseling for about three years. I went through Christian counseling with Dr. B. We call her Dr. B, and she specializes in forgiveness. So there were a vast amount of people that I had to forgive. I had to forgive myself. I had to have a different perspective concerning my mom, my grandmother, my great-grandmother, and my father. I had to adjust my spiritual walk and really mandate healing as my priority. And so there were certain things that I had to let go of, of people, relationships, because they were aligning with my brokenness and not my healing. And so that's been one of my, I don't want to say cliches, but I will align with your healing, but not your brokenness because I want to see an individual heal. You're not gonna die in my presence. You're not. Spiritually, you're not gonna die in my presence. I'm going to speak life into you that you may live. I'm going to speak the word of God that you may live. So you're not going to die in my presence. I didn't have anyone to do that because we didn't have the knowledge or the resources of concerning generational curses so that we can speak life, that we can change the atmosphere and the trajectory of one's life. So you're not going to die in my presence. I'm not going to allow you. I'm going to be a spiritual paramedic, a doctor, and I'm going to utilize the word of God, prayer, fasting, and whatever I have to do for you to align yourself back to living and not just existing. So God was allowing me to see so many things in myself and other people as premature death when it came to suicide, thoughts of despair, destruction, desolate, the unloving spirit. The list just goes on. So I took that opportunity to ask God to reinvent me into the image and likeness of him, creating me a clean heart. I want to be more like him. Now I made several mistakes on the journey that some things I still needed to be delivered from. And so I wanted to change. And generational curses can last up to four generations. The abuse in our family lasted over a hundred years. And I just said to myself, we're sitting here with a hundred years of trauma and nobody wants to do anything about it. Oh no, not on my watch. It has to change. And so every day you still have to work to be better for your children, for your children's children, for your children's children's children. Because you want generational blessings and not generational curses. And God has redeemed us from the curse. But it's through his word, allowing him to be Lord over your life and allowing God to be transparent with you. God brought up things in my life I didn't even know I was still hurt about. And I was like, God, what? You know, that happened so many years ago. But he brought it up. And I just, you know. But I just want to encourage all of you to please be transparent with God. Tell God where you are with your family. Some of us are so rooted in unforgiveness of those that have harmed us and our family. If you really do a study and a background on your family, there's a root and cause for everything of why it was so detrimental. We are so, God is so generous in ensuring that we are subject to healing. And he offers that to us. That is a part of our Christian walk. He wants us to be healed. He wants us to walk in wholeness. And there's no better life than that, to be in liberation. So my prayer is that you continue to do the work, you continue to ask God to assist you and show you you and also give grace to those that harmed you because there's a backstory to everything. And that's one thing I had difficulty of doing. I had to extend grace to the people that harmed me. But as I looked at the history of our family, I understood why. And I was able to give them grace and forgiveness, just like my children had to give me grace and forgiveness. Because no one is perfect. No one is perfect. But I know this, there's perfection in God. And God is able to bring perfection in your life where generational curses is not ruling and abiding your life of disaster and destruction and chaos and confusion. So we want to ensure that we're able to be transparent with God and allow God to do the work in us as much as possible. And it's going to take sacrifice. It's going to take sacrifice. Some days you're not going to wanna do the work. Some days you're not going to wanna pray or fast, or you're not gonna wanna study the word of God. You're not gonna want to be able to go to even if God tells you to go to counseling. Some days you're not gonna feel like it. But your dedication and your discipline is gonna bring forth results that are legacy. It's gonna be legacy to your family. And all it takes is one decision to make a difference. And to be quite honest with you, I was so tired of being tired. I was tired of being tired. I no longer wanted to see the consequences of my family. I began to pray and ask God to forgive me, my children, my ancestors, because I wanted to see God's blessings upon our family. Now, God was blessing us. We were a blessed family, but there was something missing, and I knew I knew of it. And I wanted to experience the fullness of God, you know. So I just wanted to say, you know, that God is able and he's able to help us. He will help us if we ask. Just go ahead and make that step, you know? Just go ahead and make that step and ask God to come forth in your life. Accept him as your Lord and Savior. Ask him to come up and clean up the mess that we've you caused in your family and others have caused, you know? And it's okay. He doesn't mind. He doesn't mind. He does not mind helping and assisting. I want to leave with this scripture, Galatians 3, 13 through 14. Christ redeemed us from the curse. Like I stated, we don't have to stay there. We don't have to stay here. And so I just want to end with this prayer. And I ask that, you know, we join in with sincerity. And Father God, we do thank you for being Lord over our life. And I'm asking, Heavenly Father, that you continue to give us wisdom and knowledge pertaining to generational curses. I pray, dear God, that we receive your forgiving, forgiveness. And I ask, Heavenly Father, that you help us to understand that you're willing and able to heal us from all trauma, anxiety, depression, oppression, God. That you are a father to the fatherless, a mother to the motherless. You set the lonely and family, and you're a defender of the widows. God, you're Jehovah Rafa. And we thank you, dear God. We thank you for enlisting us in your army, God, to fight against God, the trauma that's been seeped down from generation to generation, Lord. And this is a new beginning, a door of hope for us. And we thank you for your son. We thank you for your love, and we thank you for your mercy. In Jesus' name, amen. Until next time, God bless.
