Welcome back to Between Sundays. Yesterday we remembered the message. Today we slow down and look deeper into the text itself. Because when we understand God's word more clearly, we can follow him more faithfully.

Paul uses unusual language in Romans 12 when he says believers are to become a living sacrifice. Under the Old Testament system, sacrifices were placed upon the altar and fully given to God. But now the believer himself is to become the offering. The challenge with a living sacrifice is that it can crawl off the altar. That is why surrender is not merely a one-time decision. It is a daily posture before God. Each morning the believer should quietly say, Lord, I am yours today. That surrender affects our thoughts, schedules, relationships, attitudes, and priorities. God is not merely asking for something from you, he is asking for you. When a life is fully yielded to Christ, the Lord can shape it into something eternally useful. The world constantly pressures people into its mold. It teaches us to admire visibility, applause, wealth, influence, and personal advancement. Quiet faithfulness often seems small in the eyes of society, but heaven measures differently. The Lord sees the nursery worker, he sees the faithful prayer warrior, he sees the tired saint who quietly encourages others, he sees the believer who serves without applause. Romans twelve warns us not to be conformed to this world. One of the greatest spiritual dangers is allowing the world to define success for us. Ask yourself today, have I begun valuing what the world values more than what Christ values? Am I seeking recognition more than faithfulness? The Lord notices what others overlook. No work done for Christ is wasted, Romans 12 11 says, not slothful in business, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord. Christian service should never become cold and mechanical. The Lord's work deserves more than leftovers. God is worthy of our diligence, earnestness, and spiritual warmth. Fervency does not mean every Christian must have the same personality. Some believers are naturally quiet and reserved, yet a quiet believer can still burn with deep spiritual zeal. Serve carefully, serve faithfully, be dependable, be prepared, keep your commitments, the work of God matters. Most importantly, remember whom you are serving. When people fail to notice your labor, remember, you are serving the Lord. When the work becomes tiring, remember you are serving the Lord. Somewhere tonight a faithful believer is praying quietly for lost family members. Somewhere a Sunday school teacher is preparing a lesson. Somewhere a servant of Christ is doing unseen work that few people will ever recognize. But heaven sees it all. The Lord Jesus Christ is coming again. Until He comes, there is still work to do. There are souls to reach, believers to disciple, burdens to carry, and churches to strengthen. The Christian life is not a call to drift through time, it is a call to faithful service. Jesus said, Occupy till I come. As you prepare for this coming Lord's Day, ask the Lord to renew your heart for his work. Come to church, ready to worship, ready to listen, ready to grow, and ready to serve. A surrendered life becomes a useful life.

The Bible was not given merely to inform the mind, but to transform the life. Keep the scriptures open before you today, and let God's truth shape the way you think, speak, and live.
