These reflections are not sermons, debates, or commentary, but pastoral reminders meant to steady attention, reinforce truth, and cultivate faithful habits throughout the week.
Between Sundays is for listeners who want to live thoughtfully, listen carefully, and remain anchored to the gospel beyond the gathered hour of worship.

Welcome to Between Sundays. Wednesday is our day to examine ourselves in the light of Sunday's message. Jesus connects our response to his little ones with our response to him. That makes the way we treat other believers a deeply spiritual matter. Christ said in Matthew 18, verses 5 and 6, and whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me. But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. To receive someone in Christ's name is more than social politeness. It is to welcome, honor, value, protect, and care for that person because he or she belongs to Christ. We stop seeing only personality, age, background, usefulness, or social standing. We see a soul joined to the Savior. This calls for honest questions. Have I made myself the center of my concerns? Have I allowed my rights to become larger in my mind than my responsibilities before Christ? Have I turned a preference into a principle or an ordinary misunderstanding into lasting distance? Have I criticized a newer Christian more than I have helped? Have my words, tone, or impatience made a weaker believer feel that he or she is in the way? Jesus gives a fearful warning about causing one of his little ones to stumble. He does not minimize the damage done by spiritual carelessness. A sharp word may be quickly forgotten by the speaker, but remembered for years by the wounded person. A proud attitude may tell a growing believer that church is a place where only the polished and established truly belong. Self-examination is not an invitation to despair. Jesus exposes pride so that it may be confessed and forsaken. If the Spirit of God brings a person or incident to mind, do not defend yourself automatically. Ask whether an apology is needed. Seek forgiveness from God, and where appropriate, from the person you have wounded, then remember the other side of the passage. If you have been overlooked, diminished, or hurt, Christ sees you. Heaven sees what earth forgets. You are not insignificant to the Savior. Let today's examination lead to repentance, reconciliation, and renewed care. Do not merely ask, was I right? Ask, did I receive Christ's little one as I would receive Christ? This is between Sundays, keeping the truth of God's word before us all week long.
