These cats need so much attention. Um my sister was in town last week. We had a great time. We did a lot. I feel like we did a lot. Um as one does when there are visitors in New York City. I took her to her first Liberty game. That's right. She loved it. I met her there. Yeah. I met the sisters. Yeah. Um I feel like that night Ellie wasn't her like she wasn't on her A game. And I was a little disappointed because I was hyping Ellie up so much, my sister.

No, I mean, I've just been busy being a girl. Um taking time for myself, yeah. A little reset for my mental health, and pouring myself into the things I love. So basketball, friendships, and more basketball, really. Basketball and friendships. That's what my life has been. Just being more intentional with how you spend your time, you know? Yeah. Especially now that the weather's nicer and stuff. And I don't know. I've been just been thinking like it's crazy that we're given two days of freedom to do everything that we need to take care of ourselves in life. And I've been taking like a week in change to just do stuff around the house that I've been wanting to do, which is like crazy because there's no time to do it otherwise. It's true, it's bullshit. I hate capitalism.

I really, really hope that one day we can have the four-day work week. I'm just waiting to become a sugar baby. I know. I'm hoping that I have like a distant aunt that I don't know about.

It's tough, it's tough for the Aussies. Um, yeah. I think they kind of love it though. Maybe one day we won't ever have to work again.

Yeah, I agree. Well, I think we have a really good episode today. We're gonna talk about current standings, our thoughts on that, then we'll talk obviously see film spotlight. Let's focus on the girlies, and then of course we have overtime. And then we'll have another 24-second shot clock. The classic rundown. Classic. So let's get right into it.

Wait, before we get right into it, should we talk about the MNBA really quick? Okay, yeah. Just for like 30 seconds, just quickly.

First of all, neither Bonnie nor I are from New York. No, but we are here in New York, and before game four of Knicks versus Spurs, we said we just hope it's a good game and people have fun. Right. Obviously, living in New York, we benefit from the Knicks winning, but we're not bandwagon fans. No. But we have friends who are Knicks fans, and we want our friends to be happy, and we support our friends. And you know what? I like the vibe it's creating. I do like the that's what I mean. We get to benefit from everyone else in New York being happy, and I just have to say, like, I didn't really have a stake in them. I mean, I guess I still don't have a stake in it, but I was like very fascinated by Wemby. I still am, like, we've talked about it, right? Like the guys just keep being born bigger and bigger, which is really fucking scary for women. But that's neither here nor there. One thing I I was not a fan of is he literally put Jalen Brunson, he did like the tombstone fucking pile driver. And nobody called it. And nobody called it. It was never upgraded to a flagrant even after the game. It's just like very strange. And also, like we were talking about that a lot last night. Well, Wemby wants to be, it seems, uh a villain. All last night to Mitchell Robinson, I'm in your head, I'm in your head. Only to blow a 30-point lead. Are you not fucking embarrassed? Yeah. That's tough. That is tough. Just because like I'm somebody who's very stitched. Yeah. And so, I mean, you remember that year that you came over for Eagles Chiefs? I swear this is not to rag on you, but like before quarter, we were cooking, and I was like, still not excited because I was like, anything can happen. I mean never knocked it.

But literally last night I thought it was over. Like they were down 29 points in the third quarter, I think. And fucking just went on a run. Basketball is a game of runs.

It's a game of runs. And you know what's crazy? I wasn't feeling well last night, and so I went to bed close to halftime. It's because my head was pounding. Yeah. And so I rest, I went to rest my little eyes, and Brenda was in bed reading a book, and I can't tell you what woke me up. I just opened my eyes and said, Did you say something? And she was like, What? No. And then I heard lots of yelling outside. And I my eyes got wider, and I said, The Knicks did it, didn't they? And I opened my eyes and there was a second left. They were up one. I was just like, What the fuck?

It was so crazy. Brenda was like, Well, did they? And I was like, Don't you think they fucking did? They did start spreading the news. Um, anyway, great, great game. Shout out to the boys. I also love that they're like built like that was OG's game last night. Yeah. He deserved a game ball. He deserves, he might deserve finals MVP. Yeah. But I mean, we'll we'll see. I think the Knicks are built like an elementary class in the Bronx, and that's why they're gonna win the whole thing. Like they're so diverse. They got Dominicans, Puerto Ricans, black boys, white boys. Yep. It's crazy.

It's fun. I know like we're not bandwagon fans, but it is kind of fun to be like watching.

Yeah, it's fun. It's fun to watch really good basketball. Because I mean, underdog basketball is really great. And I feel like the Knicks are just very they're choke artists, they're very much like the Sixers. They they choke when it matters, and so they didn't, and so good for them.

Okay, now back to the real shit. Yeah, back to the real basketball. So current standings. Holy shit. The Lynx are sitting at the top thanks to number two overall pick Olivia Miles. She's fucking filthy. She's so good. She's so good. As a rookie, she's averaging 17.8 points per game, 5.2 rebounds per game, 6.3 assists per game, and one steal per game. Is that not insane? It is insane. They don't even need Nafisa. But that's what's scary. I know.

And we've talked about this a little bit, but like I just didn't make I didn't think it made sense for Dallas to take Olivia, even if even if AZ wasn't in the draft, just because they already have Paige. Unless you want unless you want to move one of them to the two. Because you can't have Paige Beckers and Olivia Maz on the same team and have one of them on a bench. Yeah, no. That's just not how that's gonna work.

Like, I feel like I'm not supposed to be watching it. That's how I thought I was just like, this feels like a personal moment that I'm not supposed to be having any insight into. But like they played the wings, and Olivia Miles, like, she got that shit on a fucking yo-yo. There's just one play where she she crossed, she crossed the ball over it. AZ was gone. Yeah. AZ was no longer in Minnesota. She was in fucking Wisconsin. She was gone. And then she hit a three-air face, and I was just like, that's tough because AZ's a good defender. I know. You gotta think about how long this rivalry has been going on because they played. But I don't think it's like a at least to me, like, I don't think it should be like, oh, the number one pick versus the number two pick, just because it's like a team sport. And also they do play different positions. Like AZ, AZ's also a different kind of player. She's a catch and shoot, shooting guard, she's a great defender. Olivia Miles is point god junior. Like she might surpass Chelsea Gray. She's got those specs on. Like, not right now, but it's possible. Give it some time. She's everything they thought Caitlin Clark was finna be. Let's be so for real. Let's be real. Like, it's just crazy because I just think about all the hype that came with her with Caitlin when she came into the league. And I remember thinking who who they want her to be is who Paige is. But then you think about all the other college hoops talent coming. When Juju gets into this league, it's gonna be crazy. You know what I mean?

She'd probably take some time away to rehab and do all that stuff. I I feel like it would be really hard for me to be on the bench. Like you having a monster season, and I don't know. It's tough. She's probably just rehabbing somewhere that's comfortable for her. You're right. And she's from Detroit, so she might be in Detroit at home with family and stuff. Um, okay. Shout out Detroit. Bro, like, it's just really frustrating because Skylar Dickens did a postgame presser where she was talking about needing accountability and maturity from the coaching staff. And yeah, it's just annoying because what the fuck was Angel trying to say this whole time? And she got chewed alive, and then Skylar come out and say it, and they're like, Oh my god, she's such a competitor. And it's just like just because she said it differently, like, that's what Angel was trying to say. Yeah, and now look at like this is why it was like really annoying to see all these stars go to Chicago because Rachel or not Rachel, uh Angel Ben said it. Like she said it already. Like I get it if it's just one, if it's like day to day, but it I think it was like two games, I think I just said. So I don't know. Very interesting, but that's to be expected. It's the Aces is a dynasty. The dream sit at number three. So, what does that tell us? It sounds like that was a good move for Angel. She's had eight double doubles in the first 11 games. Yeah. So that's scary because she's not even their top option. So you got Alicia Gray and Ryan Howard and Brianna Jones and Jordan Fucking Canada. They're stacked in Atlanta. Yeah.

What is kind of annoying though, because Atlanta is it's massive, and yeah, our hotel is like on the complete opposite side of the city, and so we have to leave the airport, go to the hotel, go back. But I think it'll be worth it. Wait, leave the airport. Oh, I see what you're saying. Yeah, because we'll have all of our craft, they definitely won't let us in with that.

And it's like it's kind of like all over the place from defense and grabbing boards to just not really looking like we want to be there. Like I haven't been too happy with JJ.
