Hello, my name is Tara and welcome to Sister-in-Law, the Paralegal Journey, a podcast about the careers behind the case files. I'm an Alberta paralegal with two decades in the legal field. My journey began as a legal assistant in Ontario and evolved through law clerk studies, formal paralegal education, work across multiple provinces and practice areas, including labor and employment and civil enforcement, as well as law office management. I created this podcast because there are real experiences in this profession that don't always get talked about, like how we actually get started, how we grow, the role mentorship plays, the importance of continuing education and the lessons that shaped us along the way. I didn't always see my own path reflected in the legal conversations I heard, and this podcast is my way of changing that. Along with solo episodes, I'll be joined by legal assistants, paralegals, and lawyers from Alberta and Ontario, as well as professionals in related roles that interact with the legal field every day. Whether you work in law, work alongside the legal profession, are thinking about a career in this space, or simply just want an honest look at the paralegal journey, you're in the right place. So this is sister-in-law, the paralegal journey. Welcome to the conversation.
