When I wrote down those two words in 2019, be available, I did not write a full business plan. I wrote two words. And those two words became the seed of every single thing Novico has grown into. The podcast you're listening to right now, the community, the retreats, the resources on UVersion, all of it grew from two words I was faithful enough to write down. You've been so busy being everything to everyone. The good employee, the faithful volunteer, the present mom, the supportive friend, that somewhere in the middle of all of it, you stopped asking God what he sees for your life. Not what you want, not what everyone else needs from you, but what does God actually see? Today, that changes. Welcome to the NovaCo podcast. I'm April Nova Scipio, and this is the show for Christian women who know God put something in them and are ready to stop waiting and start walking in it. I'm so glad that you're here. Welcome to the podcast and welcome to the community. We are Nova Community and there is definitely a space for you here. We are kicking off a brand new five-part series this month called Write the Vision. And if you've ever felt the pull of a calling you couldn't quite name, or you sensed that God had a specific plan for your life, but you couldn't see the whole picture, this series was made just for you. Today is part one, and we're starting with the foundation, the thing that has to be true before anything else can be true. And that's this God already has a vision for your life. Let me anchor us right here in Jeremiah 29, 11. It says, For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. Right here in Scripture, he said, I know the plans. He didn't say I'm working on the plans, not I hope it comes together. He said, I know. Present tense, settled, done. The plan already exists. Your job is not to create it, your job is to receive it. I want you to meditate on that. Your job is just to receive it. We're gonna come back to that statement. But I want to tell you about a season in my life that I didn't have the language for when I was in it. But for years I worked in education and I was a school administrator. I felt very called to that at that season of my life. I I believe I did a good job. I believed in the work, I showed up for it, I poured everything I had into it. But there was always this thing underneath, this sense that I was built for something more, or maybe not something more, maybe something different, something that was specifically mine. And then in 2019, when that season ended unexpectedly, you know, I lost my job and I was I was put in a position where I really had to seek God like never before about what this thing was that He had for me. And, you know, when you've been in education for so long, it's not just that I lost a job. I I felt like I was losing an identity. I was April the administrator. That's how people knew me. That's how I introduced myself at networking events and gatherings and different conversations that started with, so what do you do? You know? And suddenly that was gone. And I could have gone straight into panic mode. I could have immediately started sending out applications, updating my resume, trying to step to the next thing as fast as possible. And honestly, that was what I wanted to do. But instead, my husband and I decided that the best thing was just to pause and to pray and to fast. 21 days, me and God asking him for a blueprint, not really for a next job, but for the next season of my life. At that time, I didn't even have the right words for what I was asking. I just knew that if I was gonna step into whatever it was next, I needed to hear from him first. Before I heard from anyone else, before I made a single move, I needed to hear from God. And on day 21, instead of getting the big blueprint, God gave me two words. Be available. That was it. Two words, no details, no business plan, no five-year roadmap, no description of what entrepreneurship was going to look like. And at that time, I didn't even know that was in the cards for me. Not to mention, you know, podcasting, writing books, mentoring women, hosting retreats, doing devotionals on UVersion, right? I didn't get any of that. I just got two words, be available. And I want to be real with you about something. I I didn't fully understand what that meant. I didn't know that I was walking into what was entrepreneurship and I hadn't given that season a name. I just knew I was stepping out of education and into something I didn't have language for. But what I did know, and this is what I needed you to receive today, I may not have known the full plan, but the plan was there. And God doesn't give you two words without already having the next thousand words, right? Something in me knew that that deep down can't shake it knowing that it's only available when God speaks. Something in me knew that that what he told me was real, that even without the details, even without the map, even though I couldn't see what entrepreneurship or ministry or any of this was going to become, the plan was already there. I just hadn't seen it yet. And some of you are in that exact place right now. You've stepped out of something, or you're about to. You can feel the pull of a next season. You can't fully name, you don't have all the details, you can't see the whole picture. But here's the thing: you don't need the whole picture right now. You need to know that the picture exists. And it does. God already wrote it. The vision was there in 2019 before I knew what it was. The vision is there for you right now before you can clearly see it. And today, my goal is to help you at least start seeing it. Let's get into God's word together. And I want to give you three thoughts, three truths that I believe are going to change the way you see the vision God has for your life. Thought number one, God has a specific vision for your life, not a generic one. God has a specific vision for your life, not a generic one. We all know Jeremiah 29, 11. We've seen it on coffee mugs and phone cases and um wall art, you know, all the things, guys. But I want us to actually sit in it today. Because just because this verse is familiar to us, we have to resist the temptation to rush past the weight of what God is actually saying. For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for disaster to give you a future and a hope. The word plans, it is plural, detailed, comprehensive. God doesn't have a vague sense of where you're going, He has a plan, a thought-out, specific, already written plan. And he said, I know them. That means they are not in question. They are not up for debate. The vision for your life exists, whether you can see it or not. And so many of us have been waiting to receive a vision that God has already been showing us. We keep asking him to show us something new when he has been speaking all along. We keep looking for a neon sign when he's been whispering in the quiet. The question isn't whether the plan exists. It does. The question is whether we are postured to receive it. Are you open? Are you asking? Are you quiet enough to hear what he's already been saying? Because that's where it starts. Not with a big revelation, but with a posture of openness before God. Thought number two divine guidance is available to you right now. It's an invitation, not a mystery. Divine guidance is available to you right now. It's an invitation, not a mystery. Proverbs 29:18, it says, when people do not accept divine guidance, they run wild. But whoever obeys the law is joyful. I want you to catch the contrast here. When we do not accept divine guidance, not when God with withholds it, it's when we don't accept it. We run wild. We say yes to everything, we say yes to the wrong things, we exhaust ourselves chasing a vision that was never ours to begin with. We build from fear and pressure and everybody else's timeline instead of building from God's blueprint. We run wild, you guys. But when we receive the divine guidance, when we slow down, posture ourselves before God, and accept what He's already offering, there is joy, not just direction. We have joy. How can we apply this? I want you to check every decision you're about to make against God's word. You don't move just because you feel ready. You move because you sought him and he's confirmed it. You don't build in panic, you build from the blueprint he's already given you. Divine guidance isn't this distant, you know, mysterious thing that only certain people can have access to. No, it's available to you right now. He's extending it. The question is whether you are accepting it. The third thought is this writing the vision down is an act of faith. Writing the vision down is an act of faith. This is the one I want to land on because this is the one that changed everything for me. Habakka 2.2, it says, Then the Lord said to me, Write my answer plainly on tablets so that a runner can carry the correct message to others. God told Hebekah to write it down, not think about it, not plan to eventually get around to it. Write it down plainly, clearly, in a way that anyone who encounters it can understand it. There is something so holy and special and sacred about that act of writing the vision, because writing requires you to actually name what you've been sensing. Writing makes it real in a way that thinking about it doesn't. Writing is you telling God, I believe what you said. I believe this is real. I'm putting it on paper because I'm going to act on it. That is faith. That is what faith looks like with a pen in your hand. Job 22, 28, it says, You will succeed in whatever you choose to do, and the light will shine on the road ahead of you. He said the light will shine on the road ahead, not on the full tenure picture at one time. The road ahead, the next step. God lights the path as you walk in it, but you cannot walk in. You cannot walk in it if you haven't named where you're going. I hope you're catching this today. When I wrote down those two words in 2019, be available. I did not write a full business plan. I wrote two words. And those two words became the seed of every single thing Novico has grown into. The podcast you're listening to right now, the community, the retreats, the resources on you version, all of it grew from two words I was faithful enough to write down. And I want to speak to something real right here. Because I know some of you are thinking, I can't write the vision down because I don't have enough of it yet. I have a fragment, I have a word, I have a sense of something, but not a full picture. And here's what I want you to hear. That is enough to start. You don't need the whole thing. You need what God has given you so far. And your faithfulness to write down what he's already shown you is what creates the posture for him to show you more. Write what you have. God will add to it. I promise you, he always adds to it. How do we apply this in our life today? I want to give you one thing, one thing to do today. One thing. Y'all hear me? One thing, not a list, one thing. Okay. Take out a piece of paper or open your journal to a blank page or open your notes app on your phone, wherever you want to put this down. I need you to write this sentence and finish it. Here it is. The vision God has for my life is. Okay, now you fill in the blank. The vision God has for my life is blank. You might write one word, you might write one sentence. You might write something that doesn't fully make sense yet. That is okay. Write what you have. Write what God has been showing you, even if it's a whisper, even if it feels incomplete, even if you don't know what to call it yet. This is your act of faith today. This is you telling God, I believe you have a plan. I believe it is specific. And I believe you will show me more as I walk it out. Put it in your phone right now so you remember to do it. Not later, not next week, today. You guys do this today. Put a little note in your phone so you can go back and do this. I promise you, that one step is going to open something up. I want to pray for us before we go today. Um, I just believe that this is just the beginning of such an amazing series. I cannot wait to hear the testimonies from you guys about what God is and what he's gonna do in your life this month as we talk about vision. Let's pray. Heavenly Father, thank you so much for just who you are and the love that you have for us. And God, we just come to you today as sisters in Christ. And God, you know exactly where we we are. You know the season that we're stepping out of and the season that we're trying to step into. You know the dreams that we're carrying and the calling that we've been circling around. You know that thing that we've sensed in our hearts for years that still, you know, hasn't come to fruition in our lives. Lord, you know what we're waiting for, quote unquote permission to do. You know all of it, Lord. You know the vision. And it's because you wrote it. So right now, God, I pray for all of us that you would give us eyes to see what you see, that we would quiet every other voice, every fear, every doubt, every person who told us to be realistic, every failure that tried to tell us that we missed it. And God, I pray that your voice will be the loudest and clearest things in our lives. Your voice, God, your voice is the loudest, your voice is the clearest. And God, I pray that anything you tell us, whether it's two words, a sentence, a whisper, God, give us the courage to write it down today. Let us treat it as real. Let us receive it fully today. And Lord, I pray specifically against the lie that the vision is for someone else, that it's too late, that that we're too far gone, that we miss it, that we're not the right person. God, none of that is from you. And right now, in the name of Jesus, I cancel every word spoken over every life that's listening right now. I cancel every word that's been spoken that contradicts what you've already written. God, you said the plans are good. You said that they give a future and a hope. And God, today we receive it and we stand on that. Thank you for your grace and your mercy and your kindness toward us in Jesus' name. Amen. Amen, you guys. Before you go, I have a free resource to go alongside this entire series. And it's called the See It Clearly Vision Guide. It's going to walk you through everything we're covering this month: scriptures, reflection questions, and a vision statement template at the end so you can write the vision officially and make it plain. So I want you to click on the link in the show notes of this episode, or you can hop over to my website, thenovacompany.org, and grab it today. And if you are one of my mentees inside of my mentorship community, Nova Circle, then there are some exclusive resources for you all month long to go with this series. And so today, hop over there and you're gonna see what's waiting for you. It's the Vision Clarity Five-day Prayer Plan. It's five days of guided prayer with specific scriptures and journal prompts to help you hear God clearly this week. So I want you to head over to Nova Circle and download that. And if you're not a member of Nova Circle, of course, I would love to invite you to explore what that looks like. But I'm excited about what God has for us this month. Next week, we're gonna be back for part two of the Write the Vision series, and we're gonna talk about the voices you've been giving permission to speak into your life, the ones that have been louder than God. We're gonna get honest next week. So you don't want to miss it. I love you all so much with the love of Christ. Do me a favor, share this episode out on your socials, tag me at April Nova Scipio, and I will see you on the next episode. Until then, this is April Nova Sipio, and this is how we live faith first, rhythm always. Be blessed. Love you guys.
