We're back. Did you miss us? We've been gone for a while. So April. If if you're back with us, awesome. If not, and you're new here, this is probably everything. And we talk about Probably Everything.
SPEAKER_00Everything under the sun. Yes. And we might go off rails from our notes, but it's okay. Our friends and have been begging for this. So shout out to Naomi because I think she's our number one fan. And she's very excited that we're here to do this again. Um we have a small little group.
SPEAKER_01They threw some top like three pages of topics together for us to Yeah.
SPEAKER_00We're gonna work through those. But I've put one in here today. I think one that they s that they suggested. But um it is currently April or August, not April. We haven't recorded since April. Yeah. So that's May, June, July, August, four, almost four, three and a half months. So what's happened in your life, Rainey?
SPEAKER_01It's been summertime basically. So camps, um, football, even though it's not football season yet. Football, camps, kids, work, mom, a little bit of all of it. We did go to we took our first vacation ever, like for us, but it was football first. We went to Georgia. We went to the same place. Yeah, we didn't go to the same place. But we went to Georgia first to Atlanta area for my son's uh football showcase, and that went uh really well. Um talked to some college coaches, his uh film's gonna be sent out to a lot of people, so that's really good. He'll be a sophomore, yes, sophomore this year. That's great. And then from there we went down to Panama City Beach, Florida for a few days, and so my kids got to see the beach and for the first time, right? For the first time, yes. Yay, we had so much fun.
SPEAKER_00What did they say when they saw it the first time?
SPEAKER_01Um did they have any crazy reaction? No, not nothing crazy. They went right out there though. I thought they'd be nervous, so no.
SPEAKER_00And then I went to Panama City Beach the next week. Yeah, a week and a half? Yeah, I think a week and a half later. Yeah, that was fun. Anything else fun? Oh, y'all just went to Tur College.
SPEAKER_01Yes. Just this past Wednesday, Katie got invited to an athletic tour at Oklahoma State University, so that was really nice as well. Except it's OSU.
SPEAKER_00We're I'm we're OU family over here, but we do like I have some of my dancers that are going to OSU, or one of them for sure, but he did look around and found his cousin's locker, so we got his picture in there. So that's exciting. Yeah. But I remember you talking about the facilities. It's really fancy. I feel like I've had the most major change in my life. I um I don't I probably every podcast we talked about dance that we recorded previously. And since then, I closed my dance studio. You did sadly. Very sadly. But I it's was very emotional. Um I th the day of I was still questioning whether or not I was gonna do it. And then I was like, nope, I'm gonna do it. And it was not fun to tell all of those kids that I was closing, and I'm not gonna cry today. It's fine. Um I haven't cried on a podcast at all. You haven't, yeah. This is emotional. Um, no, it was really, really emotional and sad, and but I feel good about it. That's good.
SPEAKER_01So I've been nervous for you because you haven't had that outlet lately, but it's only been how long?
SPEAKER_00Um, the recital was on June 6th, so since June 6th, I've done nothing dance-wise.
SPEAKER_01Dance related. But I did come into that last recital, and it was emotional for me, and I you're not emotional. No, I'm not emotional, and I'm not into dance, so yeah, it was really sad.
SPEAKER_00My friend that I was with last night was talking about it and how she just cried through the whole thing and then cried like watching and hearing all of the kids crying because of Emma and I, and can't talk about it too long because I will cry. Um and your dance was emotional, yeah. Our teacher dance. It was emotional. Uh surprisingly, I like was teary-eyed through that, but I just knew I was gonna be the one bawling and I was not gonna remember it. And then how we had I think I had 16 competition kids and that were sitting out there all sobbing and like like sobbing, sobbing, and I'm like, okay, I can't be the one that's crying here. And Emma's crying. Emma is like kind of like you, she doesn't really, she doesn't really ever cry. And she was crying and she looked at me, she was sitting on the ground with the kids, hugging them, looked at me like, and I'm like, okay, I'm gonna have to sail this ship here. And um, so I had to hold it together, and I just smiled through the whole thing, and I was like talking to her to tell her what comes next, because she was like, I'm not gonna remember any of this dance, but we made it through, and then I cried afterwards, and um we had amazing parents that came and spoke about us, which made me emotional then. So um, but it's weird because it's August now, and I should be starting competition practices this week, and I'm not, and honestly, like I miss it, but I'm so grateful I'm not thinking about it all all the time. 24-7. Yeah, yeah. So they're all um going to their own new studios, and they're gonna have so much fun, and I'm gonna go watch where I'm not the one that has to do it all. So, but that was like the big thing in my life, and then um I also, like we said, went to Panama City Beach to for a softball tournament. And that I think I've talked about before we've done it. This is the third year we've um Matt has taken the softball team down there, and they got third place again. They should have been in the championship, but unfortunately they got third, but they still did really, really, really, really well. They were they're the only school ball team that goes to this World Series. Every other team is travel ball, so they're put together. Our kids are not put together, they're just who's there to play. And um, they played some pretty good travel ball teams and came out third, and they get these little trophies that are um little surfboards. Oh, so they're really cute. Um, but he had a new student, or not new yeah, a new student, new player to the school. She's never been on vacation before. She's a senior in high school, never been on vacation before, so it was her first time to see the ocean, and she was like, it's a little overwhelming. I was like, it's overwhelming for me, and I've seen it before because the ocean scares me. And but I love the ocean, I love the beach, and it was really neat. And they took some senior pictures of her down there, so it was just really, really cool experience. And then we also had two tropical storms come through over there, but it's fine. We survived, and I didn't have all of that, but I know you got nice weather, didn't you?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and remember there was no water in Panama City Beach the week before I went, and when I left, there was no water here.
SPEAKER_00And then while you were gone, yeah, while you were gone, there was no water here. Yeah, that was that was a wild time, but um, we went down, me and my friend Crystal went down to the beach one night, and I'm absolutely terrified of the dark. The ocean is a black hole at night, and I don't, I cannot handle that. And but we just wanted to be down there, but you can see the city light, so it's like not pitch black, and then your eyes adjust, and there's other people crab hunting, and I like grabbed my phone and turned my flashlight on, a huge crab there. So then I screamed, uh, I don't don't do I don't deal with the crabs, like I don't mind them, but they freaked me out. And then um the day before um there was a shark that came up like right on the shore, like after a fish on TikTok. Oh no. Like the day before. And so all I can think about, and I literally said out loud, Does sharks come up to the shore at nighttime? Like what do they do at night? And um then like a huge wave rolled in and like came up to my knees, and I was like, I can't get I can't be in this water, so I had to back up, but um, it was a lot of fun and it always goes way too fast. So um, well, besides all of our exciting things, um, what books have you read since April?
SPEAKER_01Since April, okay. Um, I did finish Onyx Storm. Yay! So I've been waiting for that, and now waiting on this new one to come out. Um, older, finish that one, which was recommended by you.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that was a Jennifer Hartman book, wasn't it? Yes, I believe so.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Jennifer something.
SPEAKER_00How'd you feel about that one? It was interesting. Yeah. That was a because it's a age gap. A 17-year age gap, wasn't it? Yeah, something like that. I don't know. I saw that on TikTok and I read it, and I thought it was really good. Even though it's like um what you can, I guess, taboo. I don't know, because there's a 17-year age gap, but it was a really good series or book. I don't think it I don't think there's a single book. It's just a singular singular single book. Um I really enjoyed that one, though. It was good.
SPEAKER_01Then I went on a little bit of a thriller part and went and read Love Mom and Hidden Pictures. What was Love Mom Love Mom About Again? Um, on that one, her mom is a famous author that has died in um I'm trying to think.
SPEAKER_00There's a whole storyline. I can't really explain it without giving it away. I'm just really excited you finished Onyx Storm because now I can't like I won't ruin anything if I stay so. You can send me all the TikToks and stuff now. All the theories. I literally, me and um Squeeche sat and talked about it for like an hour of our drive last night. Um about all the different theories and like who I think's still alive, and I really think their dad's alive. Asher. Someone think er now I can't remember what they had said about him, but I really think that he's still alive. And then something is fishy about Brennan because you know how they talk about the wyvern are built um or created from runes. Yeah. Brennan has like runes on his hand. Yeah. Something's weird there. Yeah. But um, and then I'm holding out hope that Liam's still gonna be in Zoom. I wish he was still alive. I know, but I'm wondering, because people keep we don't know Violet's full power yet, because all they keep saying is she is power. Yeah. And I just I'm curious where that's gonna go. But also they they call her a dream walker, but some people are saying, what if she's a realm walker? So, like um, what is Malik? What if she can like travel there? That's how she was like mentally able to talk to Liam. Um, also, she never mentioned to anyone that she saw Liam. No, she hasn't. Well, she wasn't there.
SPEAKER_01So that's interesting.
SPEAKER_00Also, how do you feel about Dane? I still don't like Dane. Okay, I started to like him though, and and like him again. I don't trust him really. I think that his dad has something to do with the Venom. Yeah. I think that he's involved with them somehow, or he is Venom himself, because he's evil. Um, I started to really like Dane again though. Um I'm not like I obviously something's going on between him and Sloane. Yeah. And I think that Rebecca Yarros has hinted towards that. Um but I do I ha I have to like give him respect that he saved her from bearish. And then like he also saved her when they were having to cross that path pass and um Kat and them were mad because when Violet tried to catch that one um what do they what do they call flyers? And that girl fell, yeah, and he did save her and stuff there, and he started to he said, I heard everything Zaydon said to you in that chamber. I'm like, heck yeah, you did. And I he's like, I think I'm in love with him too. Yeah, yeah. Oh I I just really started to like I feel like she's gonna like he's gonna have the biggest comeback story from this series. But who are your favorite side characters? I don't really know. I love Riddick, but people are people are scaring me on TikTok because they're like, um I they're trying to figure out if there's gonna be someone else that's gonna portray her.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And I'm like, it they're making me bel trying to make me believe that it's Riddick, and I just don't see how that could happen. So I'm gonna be heartbroken. But I really love Imogen. She's one of my favorites because she just took up with Violet and um took care of her for like on behalf of Zayden, of course. But I really like Imogen. I'm curious to see how it's gonna do once it's a series. It's gonna be a series or a movie. I know, and I have thoughts to say about that in just a minute. Um, one of my other series, I was trying to look on my good reads. I haven't got to read a lot um since the spring. The only the only like ones that I have officially finished, I finished Birds of a Feather that came out the end of May. I'm still waiting on you to read. I haven't started it yet. It's so good. It this is the what I'll say, as you know, Kate and Rebecca Yarros are similar of how they like spin books together and like things that you've already read, then she references back and it's completely different. Um, the end of um birds is a cliffhanger, and she hasn't done a cliffhanger like that since Flock. Great.
SPEAKER_01Now I really don't read it just yet because I didn't even want to wait till the next one.
SPEAKER_00She did announce the the next the name of the next book and Sean is supposed to be in it. Okay. What's the next one gonna be called? Um Exile. Oh, exile. Is that right? Um, I'll look. I don't know how I feel because she had said that Sean's storyline is over with, but I'm like, then why is he gonna be in this next book? I'm still I'm trying to be a Sean fan again.
SPEAKER_01I'm definitely behind on that one because I don't want to start it. I don't want it to be over just yet.
SPEAKER_00I know. I there are scenes it's yeah, it's called Exalt. Is that right? Yeah, Exalt Exalt The Path of a Foot Soldier. Okay. So I think it's gonna be about Sean, unfortunately. But I think it will be present day again. And then I'm wondering if they're gonna bring his son Dominic into it because um since he is a soldier or whatever, but yeah, she Sean is in that birds a few times probably, and I don't know, it's kind of like Dane. I started to you're like, okay, it's like a sad puppy, like, okay, I guess you can come back in. Yeah. But no, the other series I read was this five, um, it was five books. They were really short, like 15 chapters each. And I think I saw them on TikTok. They're called the Mine F-U-C-K series. And um they're about Did I tell you about these? Um, just a little bit when we're at work. That's if you haven't read them, anyone, please read them. If you like Thriller, they're thrilling books. Okay. Thriller books. Um, uh this the girl that you follow, the point of view you follow the whole time. I cannot remember her name right now. She is a serial killer. And um she meets this guy randomly and starts dating him. And come to find out he's like the lead FBI detective that's tracking her. Interesting. It's absolutely five parts wild, yeah. Okay, it's wild. My mom read it and um I recommended it to her, and then I was like, Oh, I don't know if I should have recommended this to her, but she read it and she said it was really good. So yes, it's spicy. Um, but she she read it and didn't say anything about it, so I was like, Yeah. But she did rock them. They're like they're really fast reads. I read two books in one night, like because they're so short. Um, so I would say like the five books together are probably a 500-page book, five to six hundred page book. So I don't know why they broke them up, probably just to um create um the need for the next book when it came out. So I don't know when they came out, but they were really good. But what you were talking about, you're excited for Amazon series of fourth wing. Yeah. Leads me to what else I wanted to talk about. Okay. Off campus. Oh, okay, yes. Amazon. Because I'm very excited for them to do fourth wing because I feel like Amazon has gotten done a lot a lot better lately with series and the latest one being off campus, that's like taking taking everyone by storm because last summer was the summer I turned pretty.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And now this summer I feel like it's off campus.
SPEAKER_01And they do a great job of keeping it closer to the books.
SPEAKER_00Yes, they did really did you read all of the books? Did you read these books off campus? No. Um, the first one's The Deal, which is ba basically what that first season was about, and then the next one is The Mistake, and then I don't know what the other ones are. I haven't finished it, but it's my goal to finish it before the next season comes out because I kind of want to have an idea what's going on. Um I obsessed with this series. How fast did you watch it? I did watch it in like day. Yeah, same. Um eight episodes? Yeah, there's eight. Yeah. And like I don't feel like they rushed very much of it. There was one episode that I was confused while I was in there, um, that was just Allie and Dean. And mainly just Allie and Dean, but it's so they can generate excitement for the second season because that's their storyline, which I already had an idea. It kind of leads you into that, introducing them. But I they picked one heck of a cast. They did. For and the music is great. Oh yeah. I uh that's on my my two of them are on my top list down here. The music is phenomenal throughout it. They like do throwbacks, they do some current songs, um, but the casting for Garrett, Dean, um, Logan, and I cannot remember the fourth one that lives in that house with them. They just did really, really good. Belmont is the one that plays Garrett. Yeah. And I'm obsessed with him. Also, there's rumors that he signed for the fourth wing series. Just don't know who yet, and I would be very excited. But um the only the only thing that I have, I don't know, quote unquote, issue with off campus was the last episode.
SPEAKER_01What about the last episode? Is it the word I'm thinking of? The locker room. Okay, yes.
SPEAKER_00When she's if you haven't watched or read or anything, like there, it's a hockey romance series. Did you scream when it happened? Yes, I screamed. And I I'm like, she okay, I'm gonna paint the picture. She's mad, she's looking for Garrett, she goes into the hawker hockey locker room. What are you gonna find in a locker room? Men and that are changing, and Amazon's just like, let's zoom in on everything. And I was like, and I'm like, well, you got the point after the first the first time, and then it would just continue like five different times. You warned me, so I was prepared for that part. Yeah, I had no one to warn me. Not that it bothers me, but I was like, Oh my lanta. Can't watch it with the kids in there. No, I am glad that my um son was not in there with me. Um, because he would have been like, What do you watch? Like, nothing, nothing, but I am excited for them to do fourth wing because they have kept it close to the book. Um they kept a lot of um like the romance in it. And I'm yeah, I'm really excited that they'll keep a lot of like Zaydan and Violet um romance in Fourth Wing series. Um, the next one that's taken everyone by storm, America's Sweethearts. Yes. DCC. And y'all all finished that before I could.
SPEAKER_01Yep. I'm surprised I finished that before you, because that's normally not my thing to watch.
SPEAKER_00But I think it came out right before after I was going to Florida. I don't remember. Was it before? Yeah, and I just never got a chance. But I love that series. I love um when the first season came out, I had just had Braylee. And um, we watched that whole first season together with me and my mom and watched that whole first season together. And so it's been like a summer thing to watch, and I didn't get to watch this one with her this summer.
SPEAKER_01But I just started watching it mainly since it's been on Netflix too, because years ago when they used to have their old show, my mom watched that all the time.
SPEAKER_00That's cool. So yeah, I I used to watch that some and that's when they were like really mean.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, they were really mean and strict on their weight and measurements, and it was crazy.
SPEAKER_00It like that's been popular for so long, and now that it's on Netflix, it's blown up. Yeah. It's so I guess because Netflix is worldwide. But was the other T V series not worldwide, I guess? I don't know. Did you it the little girl she's not little? The young woman, I guess. Was her name Savannah, the really cute one from Utah? Was that her name? With the short hair. I'm pretty sure it was Savannah. Yeah, it did not look great. It looked good in the salon. She did. It looked good in the salon. And then when they started performing and she got sweaty, it just like did not look good. And even um Kelly was like, We didn't mess up her hair. Yes, you did. And I'd be very upset. But I have looked spoiler. If you don't know, she made this year's team.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00Is she back to blonde? Yes. I went back and scrolled on her Instagram and I feel like she immediately changed it back. Um she did make this year's team. Um for so the 26 to 27 team. And then someone else that made the team, have you seen? Emily made it. And I loved Emily. And they told her to come back because Kelly was like, I'm gonna be mad if you don't come back. So they did make the team. Um, they've been all over my Instagram. Um and like Emily's birthday, I think, was yesterday. That's why it's been all over my Instagram because I she's best friends with Faith. I loved Faith. Yeah. But them eating the pumpkin pie with the cream cheese. Cream cheese? It's not the same thing as whipped cream. I don't I don't really like pumpkin pie that much, but they um eating that cream cheese on there. I was like, I first they said it was sour cream. I was like, put that away. That is not right. Um, but they were funny to watch. Her mom is funny to watch. Um, and then her driving, trying to cross the four lanes of traffic in Dallas. Yeah. Like, I was stressed watching it. I'm like, surely, I mean, there I know they're gonna be okay because obviously they're filming, but um, the worst part of that whole series is Reese announcing retirement because she's my all-time favorite. Yeah, I feel like she should have stayed. Yeah, I didn't at least another year, one more year. I think she would have been point, honestly, because she's been like the face of DCC. Yeah, every kid on there they would ask, Who's your favorite cheerleader? Reese. Reese. Reese. Like, she's my favorite cheerleader too. Um, but Netflix really did me dirty by playing Cowboy Take Me Away at the end of the series when Reese is saying basically goodbye, and I'm bawling. I bawled and cried through it. You can expect me to cry, but they that just goes to show like how music is so meaningful. And I am someone that loves music, and that song just it just took me out. I wasn't bawling, it was ridiculous. So I was home alone, I'm so glad because it was ridiculous how much I cried, but I was just sad yeah for Reese because I don't feel like she was done. But also I I had preconceived people like ideas going into that because people were talking about it.
SPEAKER_01We were already telling you all about it, yeah.
SPEAKER_00And I did I was concerned that it was her husband. I don't feel like it was fully her husband, I feel like it was social media.
SPEAKER_01I feel like it was both. Like I don't think it was fully him, but I'm sure when she went home, he was all the time like, I just really want to go back to Alabama. Like, let's go back to Alabama. Yeah, I'm sure he was she was just hearing it all the time. And then while they were raised and stuff like in church and everything, she's just going to do what her husband wants her to do. Yeah. So I think she wouldn't have to be. Put your foot down.
SPEAKER_00She's making how much money doing all of that, like VCC and social media and stuff. Like oh no. I was upset about that because I do feel like he did play a part in it. But I do think that the other half of it was her being bullied bullied, essentially. And that's so it's sad because like they don't know them. Yeah. We don't even know them or so.
SPEAKER_01Because I know she's still doing the social media side, which is why I'm like, it's part of it, but not all of it. Some of it had to be her husband because she's still doing all the brand deals and that's how she's like, I hope she keeps them, honestly.
SPEAKER_00He's he's gonna have to like we were talking about um it he loves the life they have and they lived in this nice house down there and they look like they bought a really nice house in Alabama. Well, that came from more than likely her influencer money.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Because I know they got a raise to be a cheerleader. Cheerleaders, yeah. I wouldn't think it's gonna be that much to do what, ten home games or something another. But they do other things, but I I don't know. And he was started doing social media too. Yeah. So me and Shelly were like, he's probably gonna have to get an actual job. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but if they want to live that lifestyle. Because before he quit his job because of what she was doing.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00So he was working at that power wash power power washing place? Isn't that what it was? I saw it in the in this season of that they were talking about it, that he left that job. But okay. Any other shows or no, I don't think so. I haven't watched a lot of TV. I haven't. Um but you're talking about music, so you can like go into like what songs have you had on repeat lately since well, my number one song that's been on repeat is from off campus, and it's an Elton John song, The Bitch is back. That is like every day on the way to work. I'm listening to that. And um that people have been like, listen to this version and listen to this version. Like Miley Cyrus did a version, it was like basically the a bunch of um singers did like a whole remastered album of his songs, and it's good, but it is nothing compared to.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you played that one for me.
SPEAKER_00It didn't have the like it was very slow and like I don't know, kind of like violin feeling. I don't know. I it's not like a pump up yeah, let's go. No, it was very bland, and then um Ella Bright from Off Campus has her version of it that they released. And oh, I don't heard that one. I do like her version. It's just what she sang in the show, which in the show it was like him singing the track singing and then her singing over it. Um, but then she released it. Um my next song is from Off Campus and it's cherry pie, but it's Ella's cover of cherry pie because she sings it to Graham in in that show. Um my other one or my next one, I made a list because literally this is I can go to my Spotify and my search. These are all listed right there because these this is what it's been on repeat. Um, I'm shouting out one of my friends. She started um creating music and releasing it, and it's on I Belong Here Radio. She has other songs that she's released, and it's on YouTube. And um her song, I belong here, is it's so good. I played it for you, too. Yeah, it was really good. Oh my gosh, it put me in tears the first time I heard the first time I heard it because she's very much about uh mental health awareness and um emotions because her and I are both emotional, and like her chorus says um my sensitivity is a superpower. I'm like, yes, yes, it is. Thank you, thank you for validating that. So shout out to her. It is I belong here, and it's on Spotify and YouTube. Um an X one two are Olivia Rodrigo, Maggots for Brains, and Drop Dead, and the only reason this is the only reason they've been on my um repeat is because they released them on Fortnite. Oh my gosh. They released emotes to that.
SPEAKER_01Which that is one of your updates too, though, is you're a Fortnite player now all the time. I really since you've closed your studio, you've turned to Fortnite.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I was playing before I got here. Um I played in co during COVID, and then like I didn't play for years after that, like maybe one game here or there, and I got really bad at it. I grew up playing video games with my brother, so it's like natural to play these things. And then picked it back up because our coworkers are playing. Yeah, y'all have a whole little group. We have a whole group, and um, if you're not like the first one logging on, like you're not gonna get in the squad. So then I'm like, I guess I'm gonna play by myself. And uh, so that's why they released the the Olivia Rodrigo like skins and um emotes and her maggots for brains was like my favorite one on there, and I've become obsessed with it. And then another one on repeat is Snow at the Beach by Taylor Swift. Don't ask, I guess because I was going to the beach, and so all I was singing was Snow at the Beach, and then I was singing Florida, her Florida song. Um, and then always uh since the spring, this one has been on my playlist. It's still choosing Texas by Ella Langley. I still obsessed with that song. Yeah, and so is Briar at this point now. So that's my on repeat. What's yours? I didn't make a list. I didn't make that long on the list. You always make the long list. I'm literally, these are everything that's on my list right now.
SPEAKER_01Mine are two different genres. That's it. I have God I'm just grateful for you because I have two Christian songs that are on repeat and behold him now, because we just sang this one at church. So those have been on repeat, and then the whole Brown album, which is Chris Brown, but Hate Me and It's Not You are on repeat for me. I don't know. Let me go to my search really quick because me and the boys had a jam session the other day. We got home and sat in the car for 20 minutes with the radio, dang, or with my music that blow out. Oh, and we ended the whole session on party in the USA.
SPEAKER_00Oh that's the last one I saw.
SPEAKER_01That's a throwback.
SPEAKER_00See, you have worship music, and I'm over here, the bitch is back. Like, wow, cool. That's cool. I always have worship music. No, I listen I know you do. I listened to some worship music on the way um to um the concert yesterday, and I run to the father. I love that one, especially when they sing it at church. Yes, yeah. That I love my playlist as well as yours, because we've talked about it, is just yeah, everything and worship to worship music. Country, worship, country to rap, to yeah, all of the above. It's the best. So I put this on here because I want us to read this book that you gave me. Oh, okay. Yeah. Um, and I want anyone that's listening to read it with us if you want to. Um, Naomi. I'm gonna I'm telling her. But Rainy got this book. We talked about it previously, like back at the beginning of the podcast, that we wanted to read this. Well, I want us to read it within this next month. So we'll read it and then talk about it in the first episode of September. Okay. So that gives us a month.
SPEAKER_01This is the one I purchased from that I saw on TikTok, and then I accidentally bought it twice.
SPEAKER_00And so you get two. Okay, so thanks. Um, tell me what you did. And it's by Carter Wilson, and I was just gonna read the little synopsis of it so people can decide if they want to read it, but it's a thriller. Um, it says she gets to conf she gets people to confess confess their crimes for a living. He knows she's hiding a terrible secret. It's time for the truth to come out. Poe Webb, host of a popular true crime podcast, wild, invites people to anonymously confess crimes they've committed to her audience. She can't guarantee the police won't come after her guest, but her show grants simultaneously I can't these are big words that I'm gonna stutter on.
SPEAKER_01Anyways, big words for Elmo.
SPEAKER_00It her her show grants them basically instant fame, a potent combination that's proven difficult to resist. After an episode of recording, Poe usually erases both criminal and crime from her mind. But when a strange and oddly familiar man appears on her show, Poe is forced to take a second look. Not only because he claims to be her mother's murderer from years ago, but because Poe knows something no one else does. Her mother's murderer is dead. Poe killed him. I'm really excited. Yeah. I'm gonna read this.
SPEAKER_01Um it's been popping up more on my um TikTok. See, I have talked about it again.
SPEAKER_00I haven't seen it at all on TikTok.
SPEAKER_01It was on there when I and then I purchased it, and then it's like I didn't see it anymore. And then we talked about it in the car, and it's been on my on my feed again.
SPEAKER_00So I'm really excited to read it. I'm having to I'm gonna have to force myself. The other one I read was or oh, I am reading one right now. The um Love in Other Words. Christina Lauren, maybe I think. I'm like over 150 pages into that, I think. But I'm still needing to finish credence. Oh dear God. That one is off the rails. Um my friend Emma told me to read that one. This was over over a year ago. I mean, I think it's well over a year ago, and I have not forgotten it. Yeah. It's very memorable because it's very taboo. It's very taboo. And um it's it's such a train wreck that you can't put it down because you want to know where the train's gonna go. And I don't I think you're very you just never you still you don't know where it's gonna go until it lands where it's going. And still I'm like, what did I just read? But then I'm like, okay, it's it's kind of good, but it's a lot. It's a lot. It's not like without going into details, it's a lot of spice, it's a lot of weird, weird. Oh, let me just pull up I'll I'll you may just read the synopsis of Credence, Who's It By? Penelope. Oh, well, if you know who Penelope Douglas is, then um she's known for some wild books. I don't know if I've read any of hers besides this one.
SPEAKER_01But I'm not one to like start it. I usually have to finish it if I've started it. And so I have to just keep going. I don't know if I want to read.
SPEAKER_00It's so it's so weird. It is very weird. And but Emma, I didn't know fully what it was about. She was like, don't look it up, just read it. Just read it. Because that that's how we got into that one series, that Academy. Oh yeah, that dance series that was totally not what I was planning on getting into, and then I got sucked into it.
SPEAKER_01I didn't really look at this, I just knew a lot of people had read it because it popped up on my TikTok and my Instagram, and a lot of people read it. So I was like, I've seen this one a lot, I'm gonna read it.
SPEAKER_00And didn't you see the post of like the this book in the Bible sitting next to you?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and I saw that too, and I was like, people are like they're like, there's something wrong with my sister. She has these two books together.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, that there is something wrong. I'm trying to oh Tiernan, I forgot what her name was. I can all I remember is Uncle Jake.
SPEAKER_01There's Uncle Jake and Noah.
SPEAKER_00But I will say he's not really her uncle. No, he's not, he really is not her uncle, but I don't know why we have to call him Uncle Jake because it makes me a little uncomfortable. But I'm not gonna read the synopsis. You you can go look it up yourself. Credence by Penelope Douglas. She's known for that birthday girl and the five brothers, and all I haven't not read any of them, um but they're wild. But no, oh, did you want to do what's in our bag? Sure. That was Naomi's idea. I'm not either. Uh literally, it my bag is full of what I took to the concert. Oh, I went to the Jonas Brothers concert last night. I forgot. Uh I got to see um Joe again. Yeah. How far away were you this time? Um I'm grabbing my bag. Row in. So whatever number whatever letter number in is an alphabet. That's how many rows back it was. But we're fairly close. I'll try and I can pop this picture up on the screen, but um I zoomed. This is like from my seat right there. Nice, yeah. And then he's on the background. He was amazing. And then someone gave him a cowboy hat, so he's cowboy Joe for a song. Um, we were a little disappointed. So when he sings um Cake by the Ocean with Jin Genji, I think is his guitarist name. Yeah, he always they always do stuff together at the end of it, like uh you know how he is, just out there, like always on his knees. She's what doing whatever with him. He didn't do it. Me and Squeeze was like, Are they mad at each other? No, I don't know. Squeeze was like, get on your knees. We're like, we were however many rows back we were, but um, it was a lot of fun. They each individually did their um so a solo song. Um, Joe did Cake by the Ocean. Um Joe or Nick did jealous, which has been his typical, and then Kevin did changing, and he got the loudest scream, I think. And when he walked up there, he was like, Y'all stop. Like he was just really like nervous because I think this is like their official like back into the tour because it's the the um greetings from your hometown encore tour. Yeah, and it was like it was pretty much the same show I've seen now, but uh because how many times has it been now? Four in the last two years, and I wasn't planning on going to this one because I didn't want to spend the money, but um I went. Yeah. And but we sat down and Squeeze was like, this isn't close enough because Choctaw ruined us, and we got to go to Choctaw, and we sat in the third row and like literally made eye contact with all of them. Um, it was amazing. But the best one that I've gone to was at when we went. Yeah, my first one was when you and I went together, and that was at the Texas Rain Texas Ranger Stadium, and then I saw them last August in at the Dosecis Pavilion in Dallas as well. Yeah. And that one was really good because that was their five out five album albums one night. And was that last August? I think so. I don't know. Maybe it wasn't. I don't know. But I did go see them. That's when they were bringing out special guests all the time. But like Big Rob wasn't there last night, it was real small. That's what at the casinos, I've I guess uh they do this. I've been told that they only the casinos only allow them a certain amount of time on the stage, and then they have to leave. I don't understand the thought behind that, but I'm telling they were go rushing, like immediately starting songs right after another. And then they did the little set where Joe Red signed, and um a little girl was there with her mom and sh they made a Pokemon sign, and he had to pick which Pokemon he wanted, and that was the song that they sang. Yeah. And the one he picked was himself, and it was Burning Down with Alex Warren, and he was like, um, and he looked to the band. Do we remember like do y'all remember how to play this? Because they hadn't done it in so long, and the crowd starts trying to sing it, and Nick starts trying to play on the guitar, and he only played I mean, they only sang like this tiny little verse of it, but it was still really good. And then he was like, We might as well just open the other ones, and um one of them I cannot remember what the other one, one of them was, but then someone else requested chains by Nick, so he sang a good portion of that one, and it was really good. And then there was a gender reveal. I think every single show I've been at a gender reveal. And they sang little bird, and then Joe were they having a girl. Joe like opens at the very end, he like rips the envelope and just like throws the end of the paper and he pulls the papers out, and he was like, It's uh and he pulls it open. There's two papers, and one of them was blank. He was like, What is it? And the other one had it on there, but it was a little girl, and it was really fun. But I think every show there's either been a proposal or a gender reveal or gender gender reveal. Yeah, but it was amazing. I had that's probably I probably I don't know if I'll see them again. I never got to see them as a child, so then as an adult, I've blown money on four shows, yeah. But they were amazing, and they're about to go play at Madison Square Garden for three nights in a row. Oh, that'd be great. And then Camp Rock 3 comes out on August 14th, so be on the lookout. I'll let you I'll let you go first.
SPEAKER_01I brought my big bag in. Um that's not gonna be very exciting. So I just left a meeting, so there's a t-shirt in here. Look how full this is. Oh, we have my Kindle.
SPEAKER_00Oh, I don't have mine. Is that fourth wing? Yeah, that is fourth wing.
SPEAKER_01Fourth wing case.
SPEAKER_00I want to see it.
SPEAKER_01This is my football mom shirt. Very exciting. A little over hers.
SPEAKER_00Oh my gosh. Do you want me to do some? Yeah. My sunglasses. Oh gosh. Um Naomi, this is your idea.
SPEAKER_01I'm gonna say, I wonder why Naomi wants to see everything in our bag.
SPEAKER_00Well, a year ago I would have had pacifiers. Yeah, I probably would have had to wear it. And baby socks. I have some body spray.
SPEAKER_01I think I have a body spray.
SPEAKER_00My work badge is in here because I'll lose it if I don't put it in. I have a coin from Police Academy.
SPEAKER_01Psycho's.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I have my wallet, obviously. My other phone. Oh, I do have my work phone too. Um, my Advil. Very important. I use that after the concert last night because my head hurt so bad. My car keys. I do have something random in here.
SPEAKER_01I have a strawberry.
SPEAKER_00I have a a squishy. What are these called? An oxalot? I have no idea. I don't know. You've seen better day, or she, whatever you want to be. It's a squishy. And it's mine. Like it's not mine. I bought it for my child and it became mine. Um, I have a beef stick. That's my little snack. And oh, what are these called?
SPEAKER_01Um, I have one of those.
SPEAKER_00An octo buddy, but it's a magnet. Yeah. That's normally on here, but then my phone sticks to everything. I have deodorant. I'm prepared, everyone. Um I have oh, I have another octobody. This is how you know that we do content all the time. And I have my AirPods. You too! Yep. And I have three lip colors that I don't I don't wear. I don't know why they're in my bag. I actually do wear this. And I have a pen. I have a lot of papers in here. That's really all in a receipt.
SPEAKER_01I think that's it too. I have a whole mega bag, but that's just a big thing and a brush.
SPEAKER_00I don't know how I'm gonna fit all this back in here. I don't really don't know how I'm gonna go. Okay, there you go, Dan. Sometimes they're really funny. Like I have lots of these swimmingies. Yeah, mine stay in my car because I will lose them. Actually, I do have one, I think. In here. Oh, I have some chapstick and some hand sanitizer. It's not very fun. Yeah. So if you've noticed, we should have said this at the beginning. At the very beginning. You've noticed we're in a new place because I did close my studio. Um, and that's where we recorded. Um, and it obviously worked it worked well for us at the time. I can't fit all this back in here. It's not um, I don't know how it was in here in the first place. I had to dump half of it out and squeeze his car last night just to carry it in the concert, and I was like, are they even gonna let me take this in? Because it's so it's not clear. Yeah. But then I'd never been to Wind Star, but they did. Okay. Um, I can leave my phone out. So, yeah, we are in a new location. Um, we're very excited, very gracious. Um, people are allowing us to utilize this, and we feel very official, and we've never recorded people in the room with us.
SPEAKER_01So we don't know it, but there's people in here.
SPEAKER_00Our weirdness and all of our stories that we or our books that we read.
SPEAKER_01So it's gonna be new because every time we talk about those, it's a little the conversation. Yeah, don't judge us.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, please don't judge us on the books that we read. Um but it's been it's really great. Um, obviously we have our logo up here that everyone can see if you're watching on YouTube. And you know, we have a table that we can sit at, so I'm really excited because I can actually use my laptop because previously when we're sitting on that chair, I can't sit still. Yeah. The other chairs, and I was scared I was gonna drop it all. And um This is nice. It's very nice and super grateful. So thank y'all very much for being here. And I don't I think that's all we have for this episode. Um we um are really excited to do this again. We literally mention it all the time. We want to do it, we want to do it, but neither one of us have a s a space in our house um because I have too much junk from kids to do anything. So we're super excited to be here and um get back to it. And again, if you want to read a book with us, it's Tell Me What You Did by Carter Wilson. Do you have anything else? Well, we'll see you next time on probably everything.
