It happens that way.
SPEAKER_01A date does not happen by accident. Welcome back to another episode.
SPEAKER_04I was fingling around. I was fingering around.
SPEAKER_01They know that we're imperfect.
SPEAKER_04Your eyes are so red.
SPEAKER_01I don't know why it does this.
SPEAKER_04We need to put eye drops in them before we do the next shoot.
SPEAKER_01I ch here. I have some. I so do I. I wear them every now and then at night, and it doesn't. Why would you put eye drops in at night? Who cares? So my eyes are relieved when I have them closed and they can soak in. Would you have context? No. They can soak in the liquids. Welcome back to another episode of flirting.
SPEAKER_04I'm your host Sid. I'm your host. Correct!
SPEAKER_03Why did you just sound like that? Like Ronald?
SPEAKER_01Because I read one comment that was like, I actually like when Grayson does the thing. Now you're gonna hate it. And now you're gonna wish I never ever was born.
SPEAKER_04Wait, I really like the way that the light's not even facing us. We have the worst production ever. Yes.
SPEAKER_01Or is it the best kind of production?
SPEAKER_04Because it's honest.
SPEAKER_01Low budget, great quality.
SPEAKER_04Mmm. Okay. Low budget indie film vibes. Grayson, what are you flirting with this week, pervert?
SPEAKER_01Sid, I am so glad you asked. And cat owners, you're gonna love this. And my neighbors across the street. I actually have multiple things I'm flirting with this week. Um, my neighbors across the street a couple days ago caught me filming a video in my window. Like I was close to the window because natural lighting is naturally the best we can do, which is why we film at 7 45 with two spotlights, so we get the best of both worlds or the worst of both worlds, depending on your opinion. Um, and so I look over as I'm filming myself for this video, which I posted eventually that went viral. It was the uh Meta Glasses one.
SPEAKER_04Oh, I'm obsessed with that. I actually put that on my topics I want to talk about.
SPEAKER_01Oh, thank you. Yeah, I so I tried filming that a couple days ago. In the middle of it, I looked down, my neighbors from across the street are staring right at me, and I went, I just did this and moved and just moved out of the window. Um so what was funny was I grabbed some like paper and some markers, and then I grabbed, I have like a whiteboard schedule thing in my apartment, and I was communicating with them via sign as if it was a Taylor Swift music video from You Belong With Me. You belong with me. And I first said I'm sorry, and then they held up a sign that said, No, we're sorry, and then I held up a sign, I'm making a video, and then they held up a sign, what's your TikTok? And then I held up my TikTok. So shout out to my neighbors. We now follow each other on Instagram.
SPEAKER_04Wait, that's really cute.
SPEAKER_01Please don't tell people where I live.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I was gonna say they know exactly where you live now. Is it the same ones that called you up for your birthday?
SPEAKER_01These are different ones.
SPEAKER_04Was it were they cute?
SPEAKER_01Was it like a girl or a guy or who uh I think it's three girls that live together. Two of them follow me on Instagram or message me immediately after and was like, hey, sorry about that, we're your neighbors. Um and then the third one, at least there was a third person in the apartment that I could see. It looked like a woman, but maybe you don't know. Yeah. Why didn't you follow me actually? What's up with that?
SPEAKER_04Um wait, that's so funny. And I'm just there's nothing cringier than having to shoot a video.
SPEAKER_01Yes, exactly, especially in public view. But on top of that, yes.
SPEAKER_04Those neighbors see I'm the naked neighbor. The people go on this roof all the time and they'll grill and they just like look at me, and I don't care. If you're gonna peer into my apartment, your humble abode, I'm gonna like are you the naked neighbor?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, 100%, which actually made me nervous because after the one of the DMs was that they said they were like, Yeah, we love watching you.
SPEAKER_03What?
SPEAKER_01Which she quickly followed up and was like, not in a weird way. But when she said that, I was like, Do you know how many times I have just walked around naked in my apartment or with just underwear on, like cooking something?
SPEAKER_04Did you say that?
SPEAKER_01No, I'm not gonna say that because then they're gonna start looking unless they have already seen. But they did say we love Miso because they've seen the cat, and they were like, Who what's the cat's name? And I was like, Oh, it's Miso, because Miso stands in the window now. Because what another thing I'm flirting with is I set up a bird feeder on my window, and I've got two doves that hang out on my balcony. Oh, and so Miso will watch.
SPEAKER_04Are they freaking it?
SPEAKER_01No, not yet, but I do have also planter boxes set up that eventually I want to put flowers in.
SPEAKER_04Um, flowers, favorite flowers of whatever girl I'm seeing at the time because Grayson just told me right before this that he actually moved across the country to maybe go on a date with a girl. Do I have to cut that? No, you can't.
SPEAKER_01She doesn't, she doesn't find it.
SPEAKER_04Which is insane. Like not to be with someone. I like at first I was like, did I hear that right? Did he do this so that he could be with somebody? But no, it was so that he could maybe start dating her.
SPEAKER_01Listen, folks, when you've been unemployed for eight months, you eventually you're like, I'm just gonna branch out. What if I set also my LinkedIn search for jobs in the city of the girl that I have a massive crush on and just see what happens? Turns out that's the only one that's gonna offer you a job, and then you're like, Well, I guess I have to move now, and then maybe she'll see that I post this on my Instagram, which happened, and then eventually we never went on a date, and she has another boyfriend, and that's totally cool. I gave her a thumbs up on LinkedIn the other day. So things are obviously going really well for me.
SPEAKER_04Well, um, thank you for sharing that. I'm flirting with a uh sinus infection, which I can't stop calling a science infection, um, but I still sound super sexy still. It's been like a month, you know.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, maybe you should get that looked at though.
SPEAKER_04I feel like it's because I keep drinking.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's probably not a good like me. No, that wasn't half a bottle of wine just sitting on the ground. That's what's up.
SPEAKER_04Okay, so I was saying I put out a video because I had the weirdest day on the way to a date.
SPEAKER_01Which was apparently unplanned. What? No, it wasn't that.
SPEAKER_04I'm saying like things happen, you don't know when they're gonna happen. Anyway, on the way to this date, I had a um the weirdest time ever, which I made a little video about, but literally like I was cleaning my room right beforehand, found a letter from somebody that I dated on and off for 10 years from 2019, read that letter, totally tripped out, like had a panic attack, left to go on the date. I'm on the bike, I'm on the Brooklyn Bridge, um, my nipples out for five minutes.
SPEAKER_01Girl, you gotta cage those things.
SPEAKER_04It's because I don't ha I have high nipples and don't have boobs, so they're always like peeking out, and I don't they don't push against the material. Do you know what I'm saying? Like if I had big boobs, this shirt would be like stretched out and they'd be like pushing against the material. So then what anybody titty community, do you know what I'm talking about? Pause. When you're wearing a shirt or a bra or whatever, and your boobs aren't big enough to even like fill the material, so they're just like if you bend over, you can see your nipples, or they're up to the sky. Like mine, yeah, okay, whatever, I have perky boobs. Like I'm not ashamed. It's my genetics. My little sister has boobs, and I'll never forgive her. But mine, they're so little, and it's annoying because if you're have in a sexual setting, they make cones. If you're leaning over. Is how old is your little sister? She's of age. She's 21.
SPEAKER_01Is she cute?
SPEAKER_04No, what the Where does she live? Yeah, she's actually, I think she's moving to Florida. Anyway, I'm probably like now I sound like a pervert.
SPEAKER_01No, you don't sound like a pervert.
SPEAKER_04What is the point of a bra then if it's not gonna keep your I'm on the Brooklyn Bridge with my nipple out? Cups. I go to take a uh photo to put it on my Instagram story. Because I thought it'd be funny. On Close Friends.
SPEAKER_01And nipples out? Somebody was.
SPEAKER_04Well, I was gonna be like, that's funny. That was just happened for the last five minutes. I have this thing on the back, the octobody. My arrest warrant was stuck to it, flew off into the wind. On the on the Brooklyn.
SPEAKER_01It doesn't exist now. You're scoffing.
SPEAKER_04So anyway, so that's the shit I'm dealing with. And then I get off the bridge, still going to the state. I start having a coughing fit. I pull over. Did you watch my video already?
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_04Okay. Well, I'm hacking out my lungs so bad, and this guy, like, he comes up to me and he's like, hey, like, what's going on? Like, blah blah blah blah.
SPEAKER_01And I was like, and our listeners are gonna love that.
SPEAKER_04That you know what's annoying? Like, you'll talk about like you'll talk about some random obscure fucking random ass topic.
SPEAKER_01Okay, and you're bubble like plaguing into the mic for our listeners at home.
SPEAKER_04Anyway, what else am I flirting with this week? Kite fest.
SPEAKER_01Kitefest. Shut up. That was a massive success.
SPEAKER_04I think so too. Thank you for saying that.
SPEAKER_01We got what in total, so a lot of people signed up, and then unfortunately we all kind of dropped the ball on establishing like an actual location.
SPEAKER_04But Grayson very much was my co-conspirator in this. So when I go to jail, you come with me. Because, folks, at Prospect Park, it's actually allegedly illegal to fly kites. And also host an event of more than 20 people. So I had a whole plan, the language we were gonna use around what we were doing. We were calling them um Rumbus Appreciation Day.
SPEAKER_01How did you find that out? That can't be a thing. Go on the room. We're not allowed to fly what what's gonna happen.
SPEAKER_04It could disrupt wildlife. So you want to stay away from trees, which we did.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so can the five million fucking dogs that people bring around Prospect Park.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Yeah. So that's why I was like, I'm sticking it to the man. The man being like an endangered bird.
SPEAKER_01I did see actually kind of at the beginning, very beginning of Kite Fest, I was flying my kite and I noticed a very large bird that was flying around, and I was like, wait a minute, is this thing gonna attack my kite? Which would have been so sick.
SPEAKER_04That would have been sick for the vlog. So we have a really cool vlog coming up, but Grayson really did show up and show out. He brought like 50 kites that kids, like uh and adults, um, could all like color on and fly, and it was so cute. Those little kids were like, you like there the parents were like, You made their day, they're so happy.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I didn't know.
SPEAKER_04And little Noah, that little boy, we put the medal on him.
SPEAKER_01Shout out whose medal was it? Was it Lower? I brought them.
SPEAKER_04I came prepared. I brought I brought little medals and I put it on him, and he was so he literally again, this isn't gonna be good for the listeners, but he was like this. And like had this little proud look on his face, and it was so cute. I I want a baby. What like you act like you can get a baby from like you can give me baby by just being in the same room as me.
SPEAKER_01Can you switch over a little more? No, so Kite Fest was a uh huge it was a lot of fun. We the other day we were all trying to build our own, and I going into this event, I was like, okay, a lot of people are gonna bring their own kites. Hopefully, many of them are not like handmade, which for those of them who who who did make them by hand, that was cool, that was a lot of fun. But I had a feeling that maybe something that's a little more pre-manufactured and like prefabricated would work slightly better. So I made the executive decision to buy 30 kites and bring them in the kind that you can like draw on. And so everybody's kites that didn't work, they got their own and they started drawing on it, and then we packed it all in, packed it all out. No trash, no litter. Zoran, please. I know we didn't get the permits.
SPEAKER_04No, we left it in pristine conditions.
SPEAKER_01We left it in pristine condition and we walked away with friends.
SPEAKER_04Grace and I just acted in something for a friend. We have another part that we have to shoe, but we had to hold hands for maybe like three hours.
SPEAKER_01And I got real close to Sid's face, and it made her uncomfortable at first, but she got used to it because I'm a goddamn actor.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Didn't you get a little uncomfortable?
SPEAKER_01No. But like to look into my eyes. You weren't talking to Grayson, whom Steve known. You were talking to the Grayson of the scene.
SPEAKER_04That's like what they tell you not to do. Like you're you're still supposed to embody that character. Like you are that. It's not a character. It should just be like an extension of you.
SPEAKER_01Right, but I was somebody else. It's not an extension of me. I was You would never get that close to my face. Not if I had to.
SPEAKER_04What?
SPEAKER_01Unfortunately, I had to.
SPEAKER_04Not unless I had to.
SPEAKER_01Wait, what did I say?
SPEAKER_04Not if I had to. Because you did have to.
SPEAKER_01Oh. Not unless I don't have to.
SPEAKER_04I'm ass alert. Woo woo! Grayson and I want to implement a new segment called Down the Rabbit Hole. That's a new segment we're gonna do. Yeah. Grayson, what is a hole that you went down on this week?
SPEAKER_01The hole I went down on this week that incorporated rabbits, not at all, actually. The hole that you went down on this week was The hole I went down on this week was she was great. I'm just kidding. I was watching another American Revolution doc on Netflix, uh, The American Experiment. And one thing I didn't know that at the Battle of Yorktown, it was when George Washington and it was when George Washington was marching towards Yorktown, where the British soldiers were for the American Revolution, and uh General Rochambeau from the French army was coming in via Navy because they had just defeated uh the British Navy, which at the time was like unprecedented, because if you can imagine the British Navy for a long, long time has been absolutely fantastic.
SPEAKER_00And so if like General Cornwallis, who is the British general, was stuck in Yorktown not knowing that he was being surrounded on all sides, um, in the Chesapeake Bay, I believe. And so the rabbit hole that is actually a rabbit hole.
SPEAKER_01Was General Cornwallis hid in a cave on the side of the cliffs of Yorktown in order to evade George Washington and basically ending the American Revolution.
SPEAKER_04What the fuck is this podcast about? Thank you, Grace. The rabbit hole that I went down on was the mole people of Las Vegas. Do you know about these people?
SPEAKER_01But this is technically a a hole. Yes. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04It's a hole liter literally and figuratively. So basically, under Las Vegas, there's an extensive network of flood control channels and underground infrastructure. And there's a bunch of documentaries on this. It's it's miles of tunnel underneath Vegas, and people live down there, and there's people that do not come up from there. Like they do not see the light. So there's some people that are like will go out and get food, and some people will like just pop up, get what they need, and go back down. But typically what they'll do is they'll like crawl out, sometimes go into the casino, take like people's stuff that they leave out because they'll leave out like fancy bags and whatever, especially if they've won like a ton of money, and then they go back into the hole and they spend most of the day inside the hole. Some people literally don't leave for years. They've been in there for like four years and have not seen this. There's no light. There's no light in this hole.
SPEAKER_01Do they have like established spaces?
SPEAKER_04Yes, but it's gotten apparently really complicated within the past couple years.
SPEAKER_01The people yearn for community.
SPEAKER_04No, they do, and a lot of them are just like, I'm too scared to go out there. Yeah. Which is like so fair and crazy.
SPEAKER_01But um Well, it's nice to know that when there's inevitable nuclear fallout and all the billionaires have shelters in place already, we can just go to the Vegas mole.
SPEAKER_04That's what I'm saying. But it what's scary is is that it was designed for floods, so it can flood in there. Which is where people people have died. There's people that have died in the yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that does make sense.
SPEAKER_04Crazy. So here's some really quick fun facts about it. Um but uh yeah, they were the tunnels were built primarily to move sudden storm water. Um, and some residents have constructed surprisingly organized spaces with mattresses, shelving, clothing racks, and designated areas for their belongings. Um it's also the its greatest threat is flash flooding because water can run through the little with little warning, destroying belongings and making the tunnels deadly. So there's apparently more than 500 people living in the tunnel.
SPEAKER_01That's a lot of people.
SPEAKER_04Like, think about that.
SPEAKER_01Uh that reminds me of Fantastic Mr. Fox, where they're like in their little foxhole. Another mention of hole. Shout out. My hole of the week was General Cornwallis' hole in which he hid to avoid surrendering, even though he had to surrender anyways.
SPEAKER_04Your turn. And those and my hole of the week was the mole people of of Las Vegas. And those are our holes of the week. I wanted to kind of challenge you with some controversial dating questions.
SPEAKER_01This is good. I am uh the resident expert on dating as evidenced by the beginning of the episode. Um, I will literally move to go on a date, an unconfirmed date with somebody. So I should be the one to answer these questions.
SPEAKER_04Okay, well, I saw this video and it was from a girl who said that her um if she has to pay or split on the first date, you'll never hear from her again. And she was like, I'll do it. I'll do it, but the second I do it, you won't hear from me again. Has it ever happened to you?
SPEAKER_01So I know this Halle Babe, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Who said that, but I'm not totally sure.
SPEAKER_01I have spent an unprecedented amount of money on first dates. I am a firm, staunch believer that uh women should never have to pay. Unless it is an event in a unless it's like a surprise date for the guy. Like she's going out of her way to be like, alright, we're gonna go do Chuck E. Cheese. And so she would cough up the money for the coins and such, so you can win the prizes. But um That's so crazy.
SPEAKER_04My last relationship, literally, we split everything.
SPEAKER_01Here's what I'll say. Depending on one's financial situation, if you don't come for money, and I don't, but at this point I have financial freedom that allows me to drop 400 bands on a date, which I've done before.
SPEAKER_04Did you just take me on a date for my birthday? No. For my birthday.
SPEAKER_01No, it's it sounds like you already got somebody taking you on dates.
SPEAKER_04I just want someone to pay for me for something.
SPEAKER_01Did you have to pay on your first date? Was this even a first date?
SPEAKER_04There was a picnic blanket. And flowers. And and and that wine. That was left unfinished? I took it back in my bag. And on the wine was a hint for the film that we saw in a local theater. And there was pizza. What the pizza. And a soccer ball, because we both play. You play soccer? You didn't know that? No.
SPEAKER_01What position?
SPEAKER_04I was like a midfielder striker dependent, but I was like, I was just like fast. I wasn't super technical and I was aggressive.
SPEAKER_01Damn, this is like a date date. This was you're like nervous.
SPEAKER_04Stop it!
SPEAKER_01Literally earlier.
SPEAKER_04No, I'm not going on a date until September.
SPEAKER_01Okay. That's not true. I hate to break it to you. You just went on a date. A date date.
SPEAKER_04That's not like uh Well, that actually, and you know what? That's a good this is a good time for us to switch to talk about Hinge a little bit. Because that's how we met.
SPEAKER_01No way. Should we talk about Hinge?
SPEAKER_04We should talk about Hinge. It meant nothing. Alright, hey everybody. Thanks so much for being here. Grayson and I just wanted to shout out our first sponsor.
SPEAKER_01Hinge. Which is actually perfect timing because Sid and I are starting to get into the dating world. And Hinge is actually great because it is. I feel like where I'm at dating right now, I'm like trying to get into the weeds of it, but the problem is is it feels like I'm just dating to date rather than like finding a genuine connection. And it's really hard for me to initiate and find a spark with somebody in person. I feel like hinge would be a really stress-free way for me to dive into the dating game head first.
SPEAKER_04I feel like for me, when I go out, I typically have a hard time dating women that I'm interested in. The cool thing is I can set my features to men and women so I can get the best of both worlds.
SPEAKER_01Nice. I had this idea. I think it would be funny if you kind of set up my hinge profile and I set up your hinge profile. I don't know.
SPEAKER_04No, I think that that's really bad. Yeah, yeah. Cool. Okay. Well, can we do yours first?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, of course. Give it your best shot. All right, let's take a look at it. Appreciate a little bit of honesty, but also be graceful because I am your friend. Okay. I need a little bit of uh sensitivity training.
SPEAKER_04We're off to a good start. So this photo, I think that you look you sort of look eight years old. So I think we should change that.
SPEAKER_01The problem for me is I just adopted this haircut. So a lot of my a lot of my photos just aren't indicative of me being bald. Yes. So I'm trying to at least include one or two in there so that anybody interested would have to see me with little to no hair, which is my current status.
SPEAKER_04Okay. We I think we can do better than this. Okay. Now what is going on here? Curator of good vibes at fun job. Yeah, well, I mean, it's like You're an uh an environmental engineer.
SPEAKER_01Well, yes, but I want people to think that I'm oh fun. So like they'll see that job. Does that when you read that out out loud, do you think this guy's a great dog?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, no, I would definitely think that. I like this one. It's a mirror selfie, which is usually a red flag, but we'll let this one go.
SPEAKER_01Oh, there's a a couple red flags in there, I feel like.
SPEAKER_04What I order for the table, fries, diet, coke, and good vibes.
SPEAKER_01When you say it out loud, I don't love that response, actually. That's probably not my best.
SPEAKER_04I'm picturing a woman reading this to her friends at at brunch.
SPEAKER_01And she goes, Oh, brother.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. And they're like, no, he's really cute. And they're like, let's see his profile. And then they go and look at it and then they read that out loud.
SPEAKER_01Ooh. Thoughts? Do you look like that still? Not even close.
SPEAKER_03Okay, okay.
SPEAKER_04Not even close. So one thing that we should try to do is be honest on our profile.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_04I appreciate this photo. I think it's like fine. I like that it looks like maybe the mirror was recently Windexed.
SPEAKER_01It was. For the purpose of taking that photo.
SPEAKER_04Genuinely. Yeah, it looks like a very fresh one. Okay. So we're gonna make a couple edits in here.
SPEAKER_01So one of the features of Hinge is you can do voice prompts. One of the prompts is my BFF's take on why you should date me. I thought it'd be fun to incorporate that for each other's profiles. Like you do mine, I'll do yours.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Okay. Um Reasons why you should be able to do it. I know his profile doing a little bit. And like not like anyone that I would go on a date with personally. I know that it looks like that. But he's actually a really good guy to most and he is really funny. And he has a cat which is really psyched. He is not um like uncle.
SPEAKER_01The reason why you should date with him is because first of all, she's always making a joke that nobody else is in on, and it only makes sense to her, and she lives in this like little make-believe land where she is constantly pretending to be anything except herself, even in the most serious of settings. And it can be mildly frustrating for sure, because when you want to get down to business, she just doesn't know how to.
SPEAKER_04All right. Holy cow. That's good. Didn't love that. No, I saved it. I think it's perfect. Stay tuned for the next ep, and we'll we'll go through Grayson's profile, the changes that I've made, and then the types of hits he's getting on.
SPEAKER_01The reason why I feel like my profile is a little bit better now that Sid has looked at it, because we changed a couple of the prompts. She thought that some of the prompts were a little too performative and not necessarily like a true indication of my personality, which may be fair. And then she also adjusted some of the photos, some to be a little bit more recent and some to look a little bit less bad.
SPEAKER_04I really just want you to find somebody cool that I can also be friends with.
SPEAKER_01I also want you to date somebody that I would be friends with. Because then we can go on double dates. And that would be a lot of fun.
SPEAKER_04And then we could spend even more time together. Well, thanks so much, and let's get back to the episode.
SPEAKER_01Wow. What a great message from our sponsor. Guys, we're still getting used to it. Okay.
SPEAKER_04So you think men should pay for the first date?
SPEAKER_01Be gentle.
SPEAKER_04Are you jealous that I went on a date?
SPEAKER_01No, I'm not. That was actually a great date. I didn't know. I feel like that's such a nice date for a dating app. Usually I feel like just getting a cup of coffee is sufficient.
SPEAKER_04Mm-hmm. That sounds nice too.
SPEAKER_01And it's I mean, for me, it's cheap. But uh did I ever tell you about the time I went on a date where I spent $400 on a girl?
SPEAKER_04I think, but I it's not like No, tell me.
SPEAKER_01So I did not meet this woman on Hinge, unfortunately. Um I met this girl through a mutual friend, and actually, no, my mutual friend was like, hey, this girl's a crush on you. Uh do you think she's cute? And I said, sure. This was back when I lived in Philly. This was a couple years ago. Um and I was like, Yeah, I she's cute. And so I was trying to plan a date with this girl, and I was like, Where do you want to go? And she was like, I don't settle for anything less than the four seasons.
SPEAKER_04Oh, this is what this was.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_04And I was like, Was that a bit that you said that?
SPEAKER_01I went Okay. Uh oh. Um, I don't have four seasons money, so I was trying to negotiate. It was it felt like negotiating with like a hostage situation where I was like, What about chilies? I don't do chilies. Why not? That's like my favorite thing to do. I was even going down to like I love chilies because like it's reminiscent of my childhood. We used to do it as a family, and she was just like, I don't I don't settle for anything less than this was actually kind of manipulative on my part because I was like, It's like I'm emotionally invested, and she was like, What? She was like, No.
SPEAKER_04Then go with your family, you freak. Like, what the hell? Someone's trying to push chilies on me, big chili trying to push this on me that bad. I would be so turned off. Okay, well But like I would go, like it'd be funny, and I'd do it for the bit, but I also grow up broke.
SPEAKER_01So I made four reservations to different restaurants before she was just like she said no to all of them, and she made the reservation herself to the restaurant that I didn't want to go to. It was like we tried to settle. It was like X, Y, and Z. No, no, no. And then I made the last reservation at the fourth place, and I was like, okay, this is gonna be great. Like a couple hours before, she was just like, actually, I think this place has a reservation. And so we went there, ended up splitting uh $180 bottle of wine. It was Italian, we ate, we had drinks before, too. That was another hundred bucks. Oh my god. The final the at the end of the day, it ended up being like four hundred and forty dollars or something like that. We didn't kiss, we didn't we hugged, that was it. We just kissed.
SPEAKER_04And you she never saw you again.
SPEAKER_01I never I did see her again, but that was the only date we ever went on.
SPEAKER_04Um did you guys kiss the second time?
SPEAKER_01No. We I never kissed this girl, I don't think. No, we never kissed. It was just a simple hug, and we said our goodbyes, and the the the cherry on top. I get back home, my car's parked outside of my apartment. I took the train there, naturally. I took the train there, or I walked or I took an Uber or something, more money. I get back to my apartment, my car's outside parking ticket. 65 bones.
SPEAKER_04No, that's so it was over 500 bucks. Probably even more than that, probably close to six.
unknownWow.
SPEAKER_01Just to go on a first date with a girl that I we had nothing in common. I don't I want nothing to do with that woman. I don't even remember her name.
SPEAKER_04Are you serious? No. Wait, do you remember it? I don't know if it was the first or second time we hung out, but I made you sit and watch normal people on my couch. Do you remember that?
SPEAKER_01Why did you make me do that? Do you remember or no? I do.
SPEAKER_04I don't know. I think I was watching it, so I just like it was like weird. We didn't even like know each other. Yeah. Wow. I was just thinking back to like when we were younger. Who would you be?
SPEAKER_01Would you be Connell or No, Marianne? Marianne?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, definitely. Who I feel like you're embarrassed of me, you're ashamed of me. Like you're definitely more him. You would bul you would have bullied me, probably.
SPEAKER_01In high school? I was actually really nice in high school.
SPEAKER_04What's the actually part? Who do you think's more positive, me or you?
SPEAKER_01You are for sure. That's what do you I mean, come on. Just in my response alone, there's a lot of deep-seated anger behind that.
SPEAKER_04Why are you so angry, bud?
SPEAKER_01I think we both know the answer to that.
SPEAKER_04And that's why we use hinge. I'm do you think that liking pictures of other women when you're in a relationship is disrespectful?
SPEAKER_01Depends on the nature of the photo and the nature of your relationship.
SPEAKER_04Okay, so we can get specific with it. What if it's like a picture of a girl that you you're friends with, but it's like her, it's like a kind of a little bit risque.
SPEAKER_01And I'm already in a relationship. No risque photos. Let me raise you a situation here. And this was something I learned in my first relationship. I didn't know what I was doing.
SPEAKER_04And now you do.
SPEAKER_01Hopefully I do. Um, hopefully I've learned my lesson. But the lesson I learned at the time, my one of my best friends that I was seeing every single day, because we were teachers' assistants uh for the same whatever thing, she posted a bikini photo online and she was usually insecure about her body. And I was in a relationship with a woman, um, and so I liked the photo because I was like, Oh, she feels confident. I think that was the exact excuse I used. I was like, Well, she she usually is like insecure, and so like it's cool to see that she's feeling more positive, which sounds very manipulative. Maybe it was at the time, that's kind of what I was going for. Um, but my girlfriend, my girlfriend at the time was like, That's I'm not comfortable with that. I don't want you liking other women's photos. And at the time I didn't see any problem with it. Now I'm like, you shouldn't be liking risque photos of another woman with a relationship.
SPEAKER_04I feel like I feel like people do know. I feel like because personally I don't really care if they're liking photos of other women, but I feel like it's a feeling when you're looking at it, if they are dressed a certain way, it's like a bit sexy, and you like it, because uh women are just gonna assume that you were thinking something sexy when you saw it.
SPEAKER_01Can I raise you one? Yeah. I guess not raise you one, but like I think it's clear when somebody posts something if it's for the male gays or for women, like the female gays. Um and at least in my personal experience of like women posting for social media, I would say nine times out of ten, it's because they thought they felt good, like they thought they looked good and they feel comfortable and confident. Yeah. But when that's the case, I feel like it's not you should not be liking those photos if you're in a relationship, because clearly they are if you're a guy, you should not be breathing the air that another woman breathes. If you are a guy and you are in a relationship, trust me when I say this, this is only going to benefit you in your relationship. You should not be in the company of another woman alone in particular, but in general, you should not be thinking about another woman, you shouldn't be reading feminist literature. That's another one.
SPEAKER_04I feel like they should. Reading feminist literature, I feel like they should because it's like how they can explain.
SPEAKER_01Oh, because it's microdosing cheating?
SPEAKER_04How they can gain insight on the female perspective.
SPEAKER_01Enabler. You know how I gain female insight on the female perspective? Your girlfriend. I talk to my girlfriend and I just kiss the ground that she walks on, and I don't leave the apartment unless she tells me I'm allowed to do so. And I only breathe the air she breathes out of her mouth. I suck it in, I inhale it. Do I have carbon monoxide poisoning? Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Who cares?
SPEAKER_01But I'm not gonna get carbon monoxide poisoning from another woman.
SPEAKER_04That's good. What about when it comes down to her? Like, is she allowed to do whatever she wants?
SPEAKER_01Well, it depends. Am I paying all the bills?
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01What does she call me? What's my nickname?
SPEAKER_04Baby boy. Honey bee.
SPEAKER_01There's a there's another word that you you call me ironically that makes me furious. Yeah. If she's calling me that, she can do whatever she wants.
SPEAKER_04Okay, so I can do whatever I want.
SPEAKER_01Evidently you can. You're already going on dates, brother.
SPEAKER_04Come on. So you do you feel like you're being cheated on because I went on a date?
SPEAKER_01No. I'm ecstatic. Why?
SPEAKER_04Because now I'm off your tail.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. No, I'm just kidding. I think this is great for you. I think this is a great, it's a great opportunity for you to Thanks.
SPEAKER_04Me just like planting the seed to like get you jealous. I'm not jealous at all. It's not even real. I'm rooting for you. I made it all up. It's a lie.
SPEAKER_01Anyway. That's actually genius because if you did make it all up, I'd be like, why'd you get my hopes up?
SPEAKER_04No, I don't I don't know if I'm happy that you're happy for me or upset that you're like not even a little bit jealous that there's another man that's gonna take up my time. That's not you. Thank you so much for being here. We're gonna kick it up with some improv next week again. For the people that did ask about that, noticed I was wearing socks today.
