Are We Flirting?
Sydney Rose Matthews and Greyson Hoelzel tackle life's most important question... Are We Flirting?
Are We Flirting?
are we crushing?
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
#hingepartner this week we're talking about crushing, book club, new movies, citibike accidents and mummies.
Okay, which? Oh, what's that?
SPEAKER_05Coconut water with watermelon juice. Would you like something?
SPEAKER_01Wait, did you drink any yet?
SPEAKER_05No. I haven't touched it. I literally you just saw me crack it open. Lord. Oh my god, dude, you're drinking loud as hell. You're looking.
SPEAKER_00I just realized how dehydrated I am.
SPEAKER_05There goes half of my ten dollar frickin' can.
SPEAKER_01Welcome back to another episode of Are We Flirting. I'm your host.
SPEAKER_03I'm your host, Chris and This is Are We Flirting.
SPEAKER_01Hey guys, so we have a really fun uh episode for you guys today. I'm here with Grayson. He is sick as balls.
SPEAKER_05I'm sick as bones.
SPEAKER_01Coughing and sneezing and snotting all over my bed. The place where I sleep.
SPEAKER_05As soon as you sit down, you can hear the mucus in the actual foam. Remember when that we're birthed. I know.
SPEAKER_01And I think of her every day.
SPEAKER_05Whoa. Well, you know what I'm flirting with? Semen retention involuntary.
SPEAKER_01Okay, guys. Grayson has he came in here with the most aggressive energy I've seen if ever from him, and it's because he is sexually frustrated.
SPEAKER_05That's not true. I did not come here aggressive. Notice how I didn't correct the second part. Second part's true. I did not come in here aggressive. I came in here playful and excited. Do you see all the lightning that's happening? I'm scared. It's very cool. I have to drive Sid to her friend's birthday.
SPEAKER_02Have to you offered.
SPEAKER_05Oh. Oh, me trying to make myself look bad and you gotta correct it on the pod? Which, by the way, you don't have to send me self-help Substack articles. I I believe in myself. Why do you think I'm incapable of like believing in myself? I hold myself to a higher standard and and want myself to be uh producing the best quality stuff, and sometimes all the time I don't believe I'm doing that.
SPEAKER_01Grayson's upset that I sent him a Substack article about essentially what it was saying was that you have to like be a little bit delusional to follow your dreams. Yes. And I he's too much of a realist. I don't know if you guys know anyone like this, but it's he he's not even like a little bit hopeful. You're just kind of except with with women.
SPEAKER_05That's where the bane of my existence. Jesus Christ. And it's hella lightning out there. I'm getting scared.
SPEAKER_01I'm scared. Okay.
SPEAKER_05So Sid had me take the Enneagram test. Oh, what'd you get? Okay. I we discussed the results.
SPEAKER_01I forgot already. Memory of a squirrel.
SPEAKER_05Memory of a squirrel. Women be shopping. That's a joke I've made like four times now in the presence of you in the last couple days. It's because it made you laugh. And so like now I have to beat it until it's dead. No, I was the achiever with my next closest was uh six? Yeah, which was the skeptic, and then um eight. No, perfectionist, whatever one that one was. One? Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I thought you were gonna be a one, but he's a three.
SPEAKER_05I walked in here and I go, Sid, it smells like sex in here.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it does. And I haven't even had sex in here in a long time.
SPEAKER_05Did you hear that Freudian slip? She goes, it done it does.
SPEAKER_01No, that's not what I was gonna say.
SPEAKER_05You're gonna talk to me about the mucus sounds when you're gonna sip on your ohalla like that?
SPEAKER_01I want you to just hear the tone coming from this half of the room. So, guys, uh what are you guys flirting with this week? Drop in the comments below. But Grayson, what are you flirting with this week?
SPEAKER_05A couple things. Perirol dermatitis. I have I can't say anything without you going. Great. Here he goes again.
SPEAKER_00No, okay, tell me. Tell me.
SPEAKER_05He opened his mouth, here he goes again.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, honestly. So I'm like, why do we do a podcast together? Because most of the time when you speak, I'm mad.
SPEAKER_05Perirol dermatitis. It's around the nose. It's basically just your body, your skin's having a reaction where it's like it's irritated because of like the moisturizers that I'm using. And so the way you get out of it, and this is not my rabbit hole the week, it's just for those of you who have perirol dermatitis, it's a natural reaction. Um, sulfur rub like a sulfur acne treatment around your nose around the affected area, and then try not to use like super creamy moisturizers.
SPEAKER_01That's awesome. What else?
SPEAKER_05Um slow burn friendships. Am I allowed to say that?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, honestly, I think we both get that.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_05Separately, by the way.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, okay. Um, I did see somebody comment and say, like, that they would hate to be somebody that dates us because of the podcast. And I was like, been there.
SPEAKER_05Do you know how many of my friends have said the same exact thing?
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_05Everybody thinks that you and I.
SPEAKER_01Nobody actually thinks that green sense. That knows that know us.
SPEAKER_05That know us. No, all of my friends think that. That haven't met you yet.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05As soon as they and then they're like, oh, she'd just be throwing around for everybody.
SPEAKER_01Nobody dude, what? Don't fucking No, I think it's like people don't actually understand that in person we have a very sibling dynamic.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, even on the pod, but people just pass that off as.
SPEAKER_01Guys, guys and girls can be friends.
SPEAKER_05They can.
SPEAKER_01I'm just kidding, you're sick. All uh all of my Not for any other reason.
SPEAKER_05I'm just kidding, you're sick. The way you said that was very funny.
SPEAKER_01Thanks. Love to make you laugh. So anyway, so guys, yeah, we'll put the rumors to bed. Are they flirting?
SPEAKER_05We're not putting anything to bed. Even though we're on your bed right now. Guys, do you know?
SPEAKER_01Maybe your future kid that we're gonna co-parent, Clementine. We'll put her to bed.
SPEAKER_05I'm not having a bit.
SPEAKER_01Cut to us putting Clementine to bed. Alright, honey. Mommy and Daddy love you so much.
SPEAKER_05Little Clemmy.
SPEAKER_01Clemmy Clem.
SPEAKER_05What are you gonna- What are you gonna dream about tonight, honey? That's sweet. That's sweet. That's sweet.
SPEAKER_01Us? No, no, no. We don't, we're not. You're our only one. We're not doing this again. Yes, yes, yes.
SPEAKER_05Let's say this. Daddy's not capable.
SPEAKER_01Um, sorry. Capable of what, honey?
SPEAKER_04Um, having another Okay, like getting it up.
unknownWell, that's part of the problem.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, Clem, you don't want to get it with the case.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, no, with me or in general?
SPEAKER_05There's been a a recent string of incidences with with me where I feel like I I just I can't my body is f it it feels like you ever um you ever been in in like a DMV and everybody gets to go before you and you feel like you're never gonna be able to leave. It kind of feels like and Clem. Yeah, Clem must be. Close your eyes.
SPEAKER_01Why don't you play with here, play with your Miss Rachel?
SPEAKER_05There you go, Miss Rachel. Little rattling keys. So sweet. It feels like a DMV in my ball sack. It just feels like there's nothing nothing's able to.
SPEAKER_01I maybe you're just not attracted to me.
SPEAKER_05Sure, I think that's part of it.
SPEAKER_00Okay, cut out.
SPEAKER_01Wow, Clemie.
SPEAKER_05Clemie. Clamidia.
SPEAKER_01Uh anyway, um, what else are you flirting with this week?
SPEAKER_05Book club. I'm really looking forward to unfortunately. My sickly ass was the one that was like, hey guys, can we kick this can further down the road? Yeah. Um, gave everybody a little bit more time to read the book, sit including, because she didn't finish it.
SPEAKER_01I always will finish it right before, but if I know I have more time. It was like three hours before book club. But I I don't have that much left. Also, guys, um, if you take a look at my book, you'll notice for the viewers, uh, for the listeners, it is half of it is uh way larger than the other half of it because it got wet, so now it's holding a lot of water weight and it's still wet. It's gonna does it have a smell, you can't smell. I can't. But anyway, I was really but look, I only have a little bit left. Somewhere.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, same. Not that much. What are you flirting with this week?
SPEAKER_01What am I flirting with? I'm actually flirting with making film and video that is not using AI. And I'm getting really frustrated. So I'm working with a friend on this surrealist video piece that we're really excited about. That's another one. And go ahead. And basically, we are frustrated because there's so many people that are creating these AI pieces or these surrealist pieces that are AI. So like they'll, you know, create something where like you look into their eye and their eye is whatever, whatever it is. I don't know if anyone's familiar with surrealism, but it's really, it's really cool. It can be a little bit creepy. Um, but yeah, so we're just we're I'm flirting with demolishing AI in the arts. I'm flirting with um oh I wrote some things down on them. Okay.
SPEAKER_05And if you see us randomly at at certain moments, just like getting scared, neither one of us uh were provided on set today a thunder jacket, so we're just a little nervous with the lightning and the thunder.
SPEAKER_01It's very loud. Yep. And we a lot of our team couldn't make it here today because we do have an assistant who, when it thunders, they they we have like weighted blankets that we wear, and there's a whole system, they kind of like dim the room, hold me and Grayson, and then they give us Pop Tarts in a juice box.
SPEAKER_05Yes. And they are noticeably incredibly absent from set today, and it's very disappointing.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Notice noticeably absent um from set today. Also, speaking of noticeably absent, my father is coming into town next week.
SPEAKER_05Is are you flirting with this?
SPEAKER_01What no, it's just I'm scared of things I'm scared of thunder, lightning, and my absent father. He's decided to show up because my brother got an open heart surgery, and so I'm flirting with my brother's open heart surgery. What the fuck?
SPEAKER_00Like sometimes I just talk, bro.
SPEAKER_05Is now a good time to talk about when you got hit by a car this week?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, wait, let's see. Let me see if I can think of what I'm flirting with. Like ew.
SPEAKER_05It's like when your dog randomly coughs, you know?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, and it's just gross. They're like hacking. Okay, I actually didn't even write anything that I'm flirting with this week. Basically, guys, I'm flirting with wearing bright colors, which I um Grayson made fun of me.
SPEAKER_05Which is good for you, and maybe incorporate some reflective striping because she, Sid herself, got hit by a car while she was biking.
SPEAKER_00Reflective striping, that's funny.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so basically, I was out the other day going to Halloween Adventure, which is a costume store store, and I was buying contacts because I was being um Jasper from Twilight for my friend's birthday party, which was Holly Ween themed. She's Holly, she loves Halloween, Holly Count.
SPEAKER_05Holly Count.
SPEAKER_01She's gonna be on one of these episodes. She will eventually.
SPEAKER_05She was part of the first.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_05The inaugural.
SPEAKER_01And yeah, essentially, I am um oh yeah, so I I bought my contacts, my fun wig, and then I get on the city bike, I'm on FaceTime with a friend on the city bike, it starts to pour. It's coming down, it's coming down. Um, I I'm thinking that I'm beating the storm, but I'm I actually look up and I'm I'm actually riding right into the eye of the storm. And I thought I would be able to make it from 14th Street, you like Union Square to Brooklyn um in in five minutes. Uh because I had a city, I had an e-bike. So anyway, I'm on the bike, whatever. It starts coming down really fast. I'm like cracking up, I'm pulling a Drew Berry more in the rain scene. Have you seen that? Well, whenever you can. Go out into the rain.
SPEAKER_05Oh, yeah. It's basically the uh female equivalent to the LeBron in the pool.
SPEAKER_01Yes, literally that. And uh I think she might have done it first. Anyway, they're going to be able to do that.
SPEAKER_05Men shout out to LeBron on the Sixers. Woo-hoop.
SPEAKER_01Now it's our sports segment. Um anyway, I'm on the bike, it's raining really bad. I hit the brakes really hard. The uh brakes don't work. I s because these people are crossing the road, so I hit the brakes to stop. I slide, and I'm all types of banged up. For the viewers, here's proof of a little bit of boo-boo on my arm, and I have a gigantic bruise on my ass and thigh that I showed Grayson a little bit ago.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, she stripped down right in front of me and was like, Hey, you're gonna want to get a load of this. And I was like, dude, no, I'm not gonna look at you when you take your clothes off. I know you want me to see you naked, but I'm not going to. And she goes, No, seriously, dude, look at my ass.
SPEAKER_01And it it's literally on my thigh, I'm being clear.
SPEAKER_05It was on our thigh. It did look really nasty and gnarly.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's like of all every color. It looks like that painting.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, it actually does.
SPEAKER_01Um, awesome. So that's what I'm flirting with this week is getting into city bike accidents. Uh yeah, oh, and I I did really slide through a bunch of New York sludge. I was so fucking soaking wet. It was like the I'm not kidding, it felt like I just jumped into a pool and I get out like I am standing um at this point. I have my city bike, there's nowhere to dock it. Because everybody put their city bikes into the dock. What are you thinking? I'm not thinking of anything.
SPEAKER_05Ooh, I'm about to die, man! You you talk about how wet you are, and you expect me to not make a joke about that?
SPEAKER_01You it's like you could be an adult.
SPEAKER_05Cut to us being adults.
SPEAKER_01So then I was soaking wet.
SPEAKER_05Oh my g oh my god, are you okay?
SPEAKER_01I wasn't okay. It actually was really scary.
SPEAKER_05Honey, let's get you some Neosporin, let's get you a couple band-aids, uh, let's get you some ice, uh, maybe a little icy hot if your body's uh sore.
SPEAKER_01Uh N scene, like why can't you actually just be like that?
SPEAKER_05I would rather jump off a bridge. Speaking of the guy that jumped off the Brooklyn Bridge while holding a door dash while naked, he was 40 and he survived. What? Limited in the city.
SPEAKER_01Did you hear about that earthquake? That was I don't I think it was somewhere in China, and that guy was performing brain surgery. No. And he's and he they jumped over his body. It was like an 8.5 earthquake. My mom told me this, so this she's not a reliable source. But anyway, let me look it up.
SPEAKER_05I was gonna say, it sounds like something somebody would see on Facebook, and it's like obviously AI.
SPEAKER_01No, my mom is that kind of person. Yeah, my mom probably saw it on Newsmax or like The Onion. Surgeon Shield patient at 7.1 quake strikes mid-surgery.
SPEAKER_05Mid surgery? Why are you calling the patient mid? What the fuck?
SPEAKER_01Japan. And the way they're protecting the patient, that's like so special. That is. So anyway, for the way we just like got sucked into this and for cover podcasting. Okay, guys.
SPEAKER_05We are iPad babies.
SPEAKER_01For the for the listeners, basically, like all of this equipment's flying all over the place, and these surgeons are like they could probably could just run out of there and save themselves, but they're literally like jumping over the body and like covering the brain. And they finished the surgery and everything, and wow. And he was fine.
SPEAKER_05That's awesome.
SPEAKER_01What do you want to be when you grow up?
SPEAKER_05See, my fur the funny response that first hits my brain every time is just happy. That's like that's funny. Yeah, the mere thought of saying that to me is hilarious, hysterical. That's a little dark that's a little see that's a little peer into the dark twisted mind that is Grace and Hoselle. That's the that's a just a little instance in which the the sickness that I'm capable of. My dark twisted fantasy that I live out every single day. I'm I don't want to compare myself to the Joker, given the implication, but there is a piece of me that's like, yeah, I could I could do things like that if I really wanted.
SPEAKER_01So what do you want to be when you grow up that other than happy?
SPEAKER_05Uh probably like a uh improv guy. That'd be fun.
SPEAKER_01Improv guys are the best. Somebody that I have a crush on.
SPEAKER_05I don't think you should talk about this. No, I'm mad about it. Okay, wait. Why? I can tell you're mad about it because you keep it.
SPEAKER_01She did it again.
SPEAKER_05I know you have to give it a rest.
SPEAKER_01No. Anyway, guys, so what I just if you notice there's a hops giving a jump there.
SPEAKER_05It's because I was just talking about She was talking her shit. You owe nothing to your mixes.
SPEAKER_01Okay, then I'm gonna start airing all my fucking dirty laundry. Do it. Yo, you better be scared. Unless you're my favorite ex and you know who you are. Love you.
SPEAKER_05And she'll see you at the family reunion.
SPEAKER_01Am I right? I didn't get it at first. Okay. What note was that that you just hit?
SPEAKER_05I don't know, but the lot of phlegm just came out of my throat. So thank you for that. Couldn't have done it without you.
SPEAKER_01Grayson, what's your hole of the week?
SPEAKER_05Thank you so much for asking, Sid. I have two holes of the week, and I will be quick on do you want to start your timer meow? Yeah. Shout out to Caroline, our friend Carol, who sent me down this rabbit hole. Start the timer.
SPEAKER_01And start.
SPEAKER_05For 30 minutes.
SPEAKER_01Oh. No, give me more time. Yeah, give me more time.
SPEAKER_05Children of Lulat Lulai Lulalako. Um otherwise known as the mummies of Lulyako, are three exceptionally well-preserved Inca child mummies discovered in 1999. It's very, very cool. Give that article on Wikipedia a read. Do I get to go on to my next rabbit hole?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but what what else about the kids?
SPEAKER_05Oh, it's like three almost perfectly preserved children.
SPEAKER_01Is it scary?
SPEAKER_05It's very scary. Not scary, but they were um they're from 1200, the year 1200, perfectly preserved, because it's 22,000 feet in the air, where it's like the average temperature is like negative 20 degrees Fahrenheit. And oh, because it's so dry. Like that basically the environment is a natural dehumidifier. Damn. And one of the children was struck by lightning. Give it a Google.
SPEAKER_01Okay, well, that's cool. I let you have more time because I really liked that.
SPEAKER_05Thank you. And then reset.
SPEAKER_01And go.
SPEAKER_05The human body works wonders, especially when you're sick. When I got sick, my first thought was is how can I turn this into content? And my natural response was, Well, I I need a rabbit hole of the week. This is before I got my second rabbit hole the week. Basically, your body eats itself when you start to get sick. It's it's destroying everything, trying to A, find the problem, and B get rid of the problem. And unfortunately for myself, the problem is everything. Also, I fell down my stairs. That's not a rabbit hole the week, and that's all I needed. I I honestly I only stairs. That's okay.
SPEAKER_01I only Wait how you your apartment's one level. And you have an elevator.
SPEAKER_05What do you Yeah, I went up to the roof because I was doing a little roof workout.
SPEAKER_01Aww, do you have is there stuff up there? Where do you bring weights?
SPEAKER_05Yeah, I have I had a kettlebell, a yoga mat, and you're deciding to better yourself because you have a crush. No comment. Anyways, cut to me falling down the stairs. I had a 20-pound kettlebell, freaking took a frickin' nasty dive. I walked away from it almost unscathed. All I have just this little cut on my pinky and a bruise on my ankle that looks nothing like your thigh, by the way. Um and uh there that there I was trying to do my all this to say my rabbit hole of the week was going to be me doing a deep dive on a 20-minute video of how the body responds to like a sickness. I only made it three minutes in. So that's that's really good.
SPEAKER_01I like I what I got is that the body eats itself.
SPEAKER_05Yes, that's all I got in the first three minutes. Is it scientifically accurate? Probably not. I'm no Chinese brain surgeon protecting my patient.
SPEAKER_01Japanese. Japanese brain surgeon.
SPEAKER_05Well, you told me that's what uh my mom said. Oh, your mom never probably.
SPEAKER_01Whatever it is, yeah. Anyway.
SPEAKER_05First of all, Sidney You want a date?
SPEAKER_00That's you want a date. You're like this.
SPEAKER_01And then they're like waiting for you to be like, hey, uh like what do you do for work?
SPEAKER_05This is this is my biggest fear is that I am actually narcissistic.
SPEAKER_01Is that I am capable of you wouldn't actually think that if you were a narcissist. But yeah, narcissists don't usually question whether or not they're narcissists. But I did learn something because I've been obsessed with this Lindsay Clancy trial.
SPEAKER_05Wait, is this your rabbit hole? No. Can you answer something before this then? Fine. What do you want to be when you grow up? You didn't fucking answer that.
SPEAKER_01An artist.
SPEAKER_05What kind?
SPEAKER_01I don't know, but one time I went to a psychic and the psychic told me that to pick a career card, and I picked art, and she said, You're gonna do art in a way that you're not gonna expect in your career.
SPEAKER_05That's hilarious. You went to a psychic and she goes, Pick a card, any card. You went to a magician psychic, and then you picked the one that said art, and she was like, You're gonna be you're gonna be an artist. I could have done the same thing with a deck of 52.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but you're not a psychic. And also, that psychic was saying some crazy shit. She's the reason I found out that my mom was still on drugs. So yeah, that I guess.
SPEAKER_05Why'd you walk in with her mom and she took one look at her and she was like, honey.
SPEAKER_01No, I went to No. She knew a lot of crazy stuff. She knew that I felt someone grab my arm in my sleep.
SPEAKER_05Okay, that is kind of weird.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_05She said Lisa Nancy, what is it? The Nancy Clancy trial?
SPEAKER_01Lindsay Clancy, guys. Guys, I don't know if you're keeping up with this. This is one of my rabbit holes of the week, is this trial actually? But there were a few people that went on oh a few people that went on the stand and um they were talking about like different narcissists' face that they give, and one of them is I took I saved it. So cute. Okay.
SPEAKER_05We're trying to have a serious conversation. She freaking scrolls to a picture where it's who and her her her and her boo thing. She goes, aren't we so cute?
SPEAKER_01I just have a crush, guys.
SPEAKER_03Sid has a guy crush. She has many photos of different things that they do.
SPEAKER_05You're gonna pull up Pokemon Go when you know that's the source of one of my most hilarious backs tragic backstories.
SPEAKER_00No, I was just waiting for you to be done.
SPEAKER_05Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_01Okay, guys, there's certain faces that you can spot in a nar in a narcissist. Um, so one is the social mask. So this is typically during the love bombing phase. Um, and basically, I'll I'm gonna do all the smiles. Okay, so projects excessive warmth to draw in and idealize, and it's kind of like this here. Do your do your social mask smile. Nice. Then there's the smirk or duper's delight. So this is how I found out about this because of the Lindsay Clancy trial, because someone was on stand and they were doing this um The Smirk. Yeah. And so basically it's like secret triumph or calculated victory. So some people actually do it when they're on the stand when they feel like they've been able to manipulate the situation. So that's this one. So um, Grayson, do the smile with me. Okay.
SPEAKER_05The next one is the pity smile, and it's just like And for listeners only, we are making faces to the camera. I know that this is not great podcasting, but Okay, whatever.
SPEAKER_01There's just a few. Just check it out. The four smiles of a covert narcissist.
SPEAKER_05The duper's delight one, though, is the one that's so if you have ever seen somebody ever smile in public, just know that they could be a narcissist. That's all that that was telling me. Oh my god, get away from me.
SPEAKER_01Okay, so anyway, so that's one of my rabbit holes of the week. Who did it? Guess what? I think the freaking husband did it. I told Grayson to look into this, and I don't know if he did. He probably did.
SPEAKER_05I did. I watched uh three summary videos of it. I watched one where it was completely unbiased, one where it was clearly somebody who was in favor of the husband, and one where it was clearly in favor of what is it, Lisa Clancy? Lindsay Lindsay Clancy. Um I'll say this there's a lot of sleuths out there on the internet that think that they are um Inspector Gadget. They think they are uh who's that like really famous detective?
SPEAKER_01Sherlock Holmes.
SPEAKER_05They think they're Sherlock Holmes. They think that they can figure out Gadget? Yeah, they think they can figure out all these things out of nowhere. Uh do your research. Obviously, if you have an interest in murder mystery trials, like by all means. I I'm not gonna give my take on the matter, other than the defendant is not saying she didn't do it. She is she has admitted guilt, and her defending lawyer has also admitted guilt, but they're also trying to paint the husband as a bad guy, who I think he is, because he strung her up on all these meds, right? And did he have some sort of role into it? Yeah, I heard he already has like a new mistress or something like that.
SPEAKER_01Four months later, he's remarried with a baby. I don't know.
SPEAKER_05The whole thing's just weird. That's interesting.
SPEAKER_01Anyway, allegedly, allegedly, allegedly allegedly, guys, we're a couple of idiots. Don't trust us, but actually, I do want to hear your thoughts on the case. So if you guys have been following at all, please share in the comments. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05And let us know what your rabbit holes of the week are as well.
SPEAKER_01And rabbit hole part two. Yep. The woman that keeps following Peter Pan around. Have you been seeing her? She's been following him around for like ten years. Peter Pan and Disney World. And I feel like there's like an ethical issue here, which is that they are like legally bound to like not actually, but to keep talking to you and interacting with people that are interacting with them. And I feel so bad for Peter Pan.
SPEAKER_05How do you know she's just not trying to be a shadow?
SPEAKER_00We actually don't know that. That's like honestly great.
SPEAKER_03She she could be his shadow.
SPEAKER_01I didn't even think about that.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. And anyway, there just needs to be some kind of something put in place for this because that's actually is at this point just stalking. She just follows him around.
SPEAKER_05Oh.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I know.
SPEAKER_05What's the thing that rises with the sun and goes away with the sunset?
SPEAKER_01Your shadow.
SPEAKER_05Ren on me, that's Batman.
SPEAKER_01I think we should re-watch please enough. Can't take him anywhere. Anyway, um, yeah. What else do I have on here? City Bike, Book Club, Open Heart, Spider-Man. We both saw Spider-Man.
SPEAKER_05We saw Spider-Man.
SPEAKER_01The end. How did you feel about it? Can we talk about it?
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Guys, if you've seen if you haven't seen Spider-Man.
SPEAKER_05Spoilers. Skip ahead two minutes. Spoilers. We're still gonna be talking about it. I have much to say. One. It was a good movie.
SPEAKER_01I liked it.
SPEAKER_05I really liked it. I thought it was great. I thought it was fantastic.
SPEAKER_01But I thought some parts were really corny.
SPEAKER_05I thought it was fantastic.
SPEAKER_01Fantastic four. You said it. Jessica Alba used have such a crush on her.
SPEAKER_05She's so fine.
SPEAKER_01She's so fine. Do you have any speaking of crushes, do you have a crush right now?
SPEAKER_05I do. Are we talking about celebrity crushes?
SPEAKER_01In real in real world.
SPEAKER_05But I'm not doing anything just to impress her.
SPEAKER_01That's spoken like somebody that's definitely not doing anything to definitely impress her. Ew! Ew, do not! Do not! Do ew!
SPEAKER_05That was disgusting.
SPEAKER_01Did you spit in that?
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_01That is actually like that makes me sick.
SPEAKER_03I'm ill. That is so disgusting.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. Well, sorry, Toots. You need a ride or later because I have to take your ass on the car.
SPEAKER_01Take my ass on the car. Have I ever seen you drive? I don't think I have.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_05Remember you helped me move. Oh, yeah. Oh, and I remember I was like, oh my god. You were like, I've never seen you drive.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Oh, Misa was who skiored.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, she was.
SPEAKER_01I haven't even seen me so, I haven't heard you talk about her. Is she okay?
SPEAKER_05No, she died.
SPEAKER_01Shut the fuck up.
SPEAKER_05No, she died like a couple months ago.
SPEAKER_01You're full of shit.
SPEAKER_05I've been struggling with it, actually. It's a good thing you bring this up. My rabbit hole of the week, grief.
SPEAKER_01Stop and your eyes even water just a little bit.
SPEAKER_05I think because you're sick, but it was like Oh, speaking of, I bombed my acting class, final class. Oh. My final mind my final monologue was in front of ten people. I gotta tell you, I spent an entire two days preparing for this thing. I had it in my in my head, in my mind. And then I got up in front of these ten people. And right before I went up there, I was like, oh, what if I tried it a different way? Like literally right before I went up. And as I was walking up to the teacher, I was like, hey, I just thought of like trying it this different way. What do you think? And she was just like, no. She was like, rightfully so. She was like, no, like go with your original thought. Like, if this is just something that you are gonna try, it's not worth like your time being here. Like, this is like you should do what you've been trying this entire time because that's what you're doing. It's weird advice, but well, it was a very drastically different, it was like a complete different direction that I was gonna take the character.
SPEAKER_01And then what if it what if this was a woman instead?
SPEAKER_05Well, I I was my ma I was a woman in my monologue, and then the change was I was gonna be an evil supervillain delivering the lines like a serial killer. And she was like, No, just do it the original way. And I'm with her. I'm with her. Yeah, I completely bombed it, forgot all my lines. I was the first person to go up there and not remember their monologue, so I had to stop and be like, I'm so sorry. To the class, I was like, I'm so sorry, I forgot this line. I swear, like I've been practicing all day. And she was like, She was like, it's totally fine, just call line, but stay in it, stay in the scene. And I just couldn't stay in the scene, bombed it, tried it two or three times, each time forgot lines. Like to the point where as soon as I sat down, I started crying, and I had to like hide my face from everybody else. It was so I was like dude, I wanted to do so well in that class, and I was doing so well up until that point, and it was the last thing I did.
SPEAKER_01Wait, that makes me so sad.
SPEAKER_05It's because you're an empath.
SPEAKER_01Oh my god.
SPEAKER_05But you forget that I'm a terrible person. Yeah. And that'll help you get over this.
SPEAKER_01Thank you for bringing that up.
SPEAKER_05That's called aftercare.
SPEAKER_00Um you're just like gross.
SPEAKER_05It's disgusting. I'm like that green germ from the Musinex commercials.
SPEAKER_01But you know what? Something about you is that uh despite your craziness, I still do trust your opinion.
SPEAKER_05Thank you. Yeah. So next time you send me an article that says believe in your own future, even if it means you gotta be delusional, right after I bomb a monologue, just know I'm gonna kill myself.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god.
SPEAKER_05Uh, just kidding.
SPEAKER_01I was trying to bleed into the friends jig thing by being like, I trust your opinion. And like you ended it with killing yourself.
SPEAKER_05And now I'm like, Isabella?
SPEAKER_01Guys, Grayson and I are looking for an unpaid intern.
SPEAKER_05So, oh, I don't even have my microphone. So if you guys are ever curious about random cuts in the podcast, it's because our camera cuts out after a certain amount of time and we don't know. We just forget. It's good and bad, but nothing.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Anyway, Grayson, despite the fact that you're somebody that I can't stand and that you are really delusional with your love life, I actually do trust your opinion.
SPEAKER_05Thank you. I feel like my words carry a lot of weight.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, they do. They do. And so I'd like to try something out with you. Grayson, have you heard of Friends Take? What is it? So basically, if you go to your hinge profile, edit your profile, and scroll down to Friends Take, and then you can share your link with your friends. So I'm gonna share this with you. This is a fun way that you can gauge, you know, what a person's like based on what their friends are saying about them. You're able to get an outside perspective on this person from their friends, which is really helpful. And I know you and I are really friend and bit oriented, so this is a good way to go about that.
SPEAKER_05I think that's good because uh oftentimes you get to know a person through who their friends are as well. So this is I could see how that could be a valuable tool. A moment I still laugh about. Can I talk about you getting hit by a car? Yeah. Okay. I'm gonna say how Sid champed getting hit by a car while riding a bike.
SPEAKER_01And then you can go ahead and put your name in. Grace. Who you are to me.
SPEAKER_05Can I say BFF?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you can say BFF.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_01And Smit. Awesome. So now I can approve and have that on my profile. So it doesn't just automatically go on my profile. I can add it, which is really fun. And now it's on there. So now I'm gonna do one for you. So I actually think this would be fun to do another voice memo because the other one was doing really well. So I'm gonna do a small thing they do for people. Okay, for Grayson, there's no small thing that Grayson does for people. Grayson does the most. He goes the most above and beyond more than anybody I know to a fault where you're like, hey, King, actually save some of that for yourself. And he's really helpful.
SPEAKER_05Me holding her at gunpoint, trying to get her to say these things.
SPEAKER_01And then he left.
SPEAKER_05Let's see. I'm gonna do a voice one for you, and it's gonna say what they're probably doing right now. What Sid is probably doing right now is being in a bit, in a joke, in a kind little jest, that only she is part of, and no one knows how to get in on because Sid openly just does her own bits, relentlessly, even. And i in a way where it's like Sid, it's time for us to finally take something serious, and she's incapable because she's too busy being committed to the bit.
SPEAKER_01I felt like you were gonna go past that 30-second mark. Just you were in your own your own flow state.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, no, I was.
SPEAKER_01Alright, now send that in and I'll add that to my profile.
SPEAKER_05Sh uh Grayson BFF bestie. Alright, so I did two.
SPEAKER_01Okay, how about I actually do one more?
SPEAKER_05Oh my god, guys, what's she gonna say? Not your phone literally about to die.
SPEAKER_01One thing about me is no matter what, my phone's always on less than 10%. How they make everyday moments fun. Grayson is the life of the party.
SPEAKER_05That's not true. You know that's not true.
SPEAKER_01Grayson is a life at a party. Sid and bestie and send. Nice. Cool. Okay, well, I hope that this helps you get as many matches as my first one.
SPEAKER_04I can't wait.
SPEAKER_01Alright, guys. Well, that was the friends take, and definitely try it out with your friends. Uh, we will see how that goes for us.
SPEAKER_05I'm hoping we'll stay tuned, guys. I think I think it'll go well. The voice notes that you provided earlier on always is without a doubt the top thing that people respond to because they're always like, oh my god, a girl best friend, can we hang out?
SPEAKER_01I'm like, Hey guys, it's my profile. Wait, that's really set us up. No. Awesome. How about you're a serial killer who's actually kind of just misunderstood? And I am you're coming to kill me in the dead of the night.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_01And we kind of just have like a little conversation about it.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_01And action. Who's there?
SPEAKER_03Just go back to bed, Clementine.
SPEAKER_01Oh gosh, okay. Sorry, but I haven't been called Clementine in a long time, except by my mom and dad, who are not together but together and decided to have me, I guess, because they couldn't find anybody else in here. Anyway, um mom, dad?
SPEAKER_05No, I just it's you have Clementine on your door coming into the room.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah, that's that's my parents' house.
SPEAKER_05I mean, that felt like a trauma dump. Like I know, I didn't know. There was a lot of exposition.
SPEAKER_01Who who are you?
SPEAKER_05This was okay, this is gonna sound weird. Your roommate. Uh-huh. We met at the bar, and I was we were just hooking up, and I honestly I got lost going to the bathroom.
SPEAKER_01What's with the gigantic blade that you just put into your back pocket? And also, my roommate's a raging lesbian. Her name's Holly.
SPEAKER_05Honestly, I was confused as you were when I met her at the bar, and she was really hidden. She was I mean, she was laying it on thick. We have the same haircut, which I was like, that's fine. But, you know, I it's been a while since I shook the bed a little bit, so I was like, alright, I'll give it a shot. The reason why I took the the big blade First of all, you guys have Kobayashi knives straight from Japan. Sterling silver, serrated blades.
SPEAKER_01You seem to know a lot about knives. What's your name, by the way?
SPEAKER_05So my name, and this is gonna sound ridiculous. My last name's Kobayashi. My father owns the knife company, which is ha which is why I know so much about the knives.
SPEAKER_01So let me get this straight. You came here to hook up with my lesbian roommate who's not even here, and you wandered out of her room into mine with a knife from Kobayashi.
SPEAKER_05Kobayashi knives, yes.
SPEAKER_01And and you're of Kobayashi descent.
SPEAKER_05Yes. My my father's Mr. Kobayashi. I'm feeling really misunderstood in this s setting. And then also you say your roommate's not home. Who is the person with a buzz cut that that I was just cuddling with in her bag?
SPEAKER_01Her girlfriend.
SPEAKER_05She's got exquisite taste. Much like you guys with your taste for Kobayashi knives.
SPEAKER_01Listen, who are you a murderer? Let's just call spade a spade.
SPEAKER_05You think if I was a murderer, I would come into your room in the middle of the night with a knife that has the same last name as me, and I would kill you with it? You okay. Yeah, I guess it does sound a little crazy, huh? Yeah, if you were a victim, and no offense, first of all, there's stuff everywhere in your room. This would be a nightmare for a serial killer to try to pull off. I mean, you have glasses on the ground. I mean, there were boxes in front of your door, which would be like Yeah, that would be like a uh first of all, a fire hazard. Correct, yeah. Second of all, there's stuff everywhere. I just I don't even know what's going on with the plant situation. Like, is this the Amazon rainforest? Why are half of them dead? I just so I'm a little offended.
SPEAKER_00Wait, when you like heard misunderstood, I was seeing when you were misunderstood, what did you think I meant?
SPEAKER_05Misunderstood. I was trying my best to play it off that this was a misunderstanding.
SPEAKER_01But you're were you actually a serial killer?
SPEAKER_05Yes. I just hadn't killed you yet.
SPEAKER_01Okay. So we were on the same page.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, we were. And if you guys want to know what it's like to be in an improv class with Sid.
SPEAKER_01That's it. And that's what it's like. And my phone's gonna die, and also I have to leave because I have to go to this birthday party.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_01Guys, I'm headed to Nina's birthday party.
SPEAKER_05I brought it.
SPEAKER_01I have to pluck my nipples before we go, though.
SPEAKER_05You have to pluck your nipples? Yeah. Throw on the orange. It was good. It was a good outfit.
SPEAKER_01You'd like that? You'd like the orange.
SPEAKER_05Well, this is gonna be too hot.
SPEAKER_01You think?
SPEAKER_05Yeah. I see we're no longer painting our nails. Like toenails included.
SPEAKER_01Mind your fucking own for once. You literally look like a sh uh kid's shitty sketch pad.
SPEAKER_05Oh, because of the tattoos. Some people like them.
SPEAKER_01Yep, toddlers. Alright, guys, that's all the time we have. I can't wait to edit this. It's gonna be a nightmare. I'm Sid.
SPEAKER_05I'm Grace. Ed.
SPEAKER_01And this is Are We Flirting?
SPEAKER_04I'm Hard. You got me a motto. I don't know how the song goes. I am with you.
SPEAKER_01You got me slipping into the lum and china killing.
SPEAKER_04Baby killed.
SPEAKER_01I like when this turns into karaoke, too.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, this is fun. This is the part of the and this is behind the scenes. This is the part that you guys don't get to see. This is like what 95% of the recording is when the mic when the microphone and the cameras are not on.
SPEAKER_00Thanks, guys.
