Dr. Vilma Luz Cabán is an author, humanitarian researcher, and educator. Currently, she is the Founder and CEO of Casa de María Publisher, an independent publishing house committed to ethical storytelling and cultural preservation. Her work lives at the intersection of literature, advocacy, and community engagement.

As an author, Dr. Cabán centers lived experience with care and intention. Her memoir, The Heart of an Advocate, reflects her belief that personal testimony can support healing and social awareness when shaped with agency. Her research and teaching draw from years of work with youth, women, and marginalized communities, with a focus on narrative justice and the responsibilities of storytellers.

Casa de María Publisher grew from a personal legacy project into a publishing platform that supports writers through anthologies, retreats, and public literary programs.
