Hello and welcome to the Magic Manifesting Mindset podcast. I'm your host, Monica, and today we are going to be talking about affiliate marketing and how you can get paid for suggesting things you're already suggesting and you already love. So if you are new here, let me tell you a little bit about this podcast. So it's a little woo-woo, a little nerdy, and a whole lot of heart. The Magic Manifesting Mindset podcast is your space to shift your mindset, realign your energy, trust your innate gifts, and ultimately become abundant AF. Not only do we talk about the woo, but we discuss the science, the psychology, and the practical ways to manifest our desires and make that funny. So let's get into it. First and foremost, what is affiliate marketing? So you're going to hear this in two different ways. So back in the 2010s, and even sometimes today, you will hear affiliate marketing referred to as MLMs or MLMs referred to as affiliate marketing. That's not what we're talking about here. So don't stop the podcast. Keep listening because we are not discussing MLMs at all. That's not our thing. The second version of affiliate marketing is basically taking products that you already love, you're already suggesting people, and using a unique URL or web address and sharing that with others so you can get paid a small commission from that. Now, by small, sometimes this can be big numbers, hundreds of thousands of dollars sometimes. Hundreds or thousands, not hundreds of thousands, hundreds or thousands of dollars, depending on the product that you are suggesting. So I don't promote a lot of affiliate products. So personally, I'm not making thousands of dollars from my affiliate links, but I do make$5 here,$10 there, because how I mostly do it is through my blog post. And well, if we're honest, I really do need to blog more. So I usually do a very subtle way of suggesting products to people, which I'll get into in a little bit. But you don't have to do it that way. You can't be way out there and just suggest, suggest, suggest, put content out there, put content out there, put on content out there, and make a lot of money. It's very lucrative. And I've seen creators that talk about how much money they're making from these affiliate products. So back to what affiliate marketing is. So let's go into really how that works. So if you know a smaller company or smaller individual, they may just ask for some basic information, like your name, maybe your address, and maybe even an email address. And then they will give you a unique URL or web address for you to use whenever you're suggesting this product. And then what you'll do is whenever you're suggesting it, you'll share that link. And then there's these little cookies, right? Or if you're not familiar with that term, it's like it's like it's like residue for whenever someone goes to a website, it's like a sticky residue that's showing, hey, this person went to this website. So whenever that sticky residue is there and they use your link, then the company, well, their technology knows that somebody bought from your link, or at least they visited from your link. And if they do, then you get a percentage of the profits. And this isn't like profits after all of the transaction fees and all of the things. No, this is like as soon as the sale hits, you usually get a percentage of the sale itself. So if you suggested something that's$100 and the percentage was 10%, then you'd get$10. You see? Now, bigger businesses usually pay out smaller percentages, but they do have bigger ticketed items. So you can still make a lot more. With bigger businesses, you will need to have some of your information ahead of time, or else you're gonna get really frustrated and annoyed, which I totally have done multiple times because I haven't been prepared all the time. But what you're going to do is you're gonna fill in an application, they're going to review the application and approve it, hopefully. And then, same thing, you're going to get access to these unique URLs that you'll share. Now, you have to be very careful, especially with the bigger businesses. They require you to announce that you may receive a small commission from this. Um, they also have certain limitations on how you can promote your product or their products, but it can still be a pretty easy way that you can make money where you don't have to have products, you don't have to have a website unless you want to, or any of this. So, how are people marketing this? So, a lot of people, they will just talk to their friends and family, honestly. And if something comes up that they are an affiliate for, they will suggest that. Or if someone's talking about a problem, they're like, oh, actually, there's this thing, and then they'll share that link. And another way, a big way, is through blogging. Blogging is not dead, I promise. It is still used a lot and it still comes up in a lot of search engine results. So it's still pretty big. So there's two ways to do the blogging part of it, really. So there's people who that is their main thing. They focus on the actual blogging itself, they focus on sharing these affiliate links. And so a lot of times you'll see people who have like five ways to do X, Y, and Z, or the best four pieces of technology for 2026, or something like that, or you can't skip these three items from Amazon, things like that, and then they'll describe a little bit about it. But honestly, you could use AI for it. I mean, I would try and judge it up some, but you could. So you could use AI for it, and then you write it, make it look nice, put some photos in there, and you'll put your links. If people use those links, then they you could potentially make some money. Now, there are limits on that stickiness, those cookies. Sometimes it's only a few hours, sometimes it's several days, sometimes, like if it's with Amazon, then they don't necessarily have to buy that product. But if they used your link and then bought another product, you could still potentially make money. So that's why it's very, very important to read the terms and conditions for each affiliate program and see how it works. So the other way is more subtle, and it's what I do for the blogging. With the blogging that I do, I will talk about something else. Like, say I will talk about manifestation or you know, ways that you can make money. And within that, there might be a tool or a resource that I have tried. And so then I will share it and or that I believe in because maybe I know the person or the company. And so even if I haven't tried it, I know that it's gonna be great. And so then I will share my affiliate links for that. And that's more of how I do it. But like I said, I'm making five,$10, not thousands of dollars. So maybe not do it like how I do it. So the other another way that you can market your affiliate links is, you know, if you are allowed to promote in a Facebook group or on social media in any capacity, you can put your affiliate links. So in all of my YouTube links, yes, in all of my YouTube links, I will often have my Amazon storefront, which has affiliate links in there. Or I will sometimes, if it's relevant, then I might share an affiliate link for a particular product or service. And sometimes I will see somebody posting in a group and they're asking for assistance for something, and I know a product or service that would help them. And so I share my affiliate link. Now, if it's something with Amazon, again, I have to disclose that it is an affiliate link. There's lots of different ways that you can do this. You can say, I maybe I may receive a small commission if you buy something for this, or you can say something like hashtag ad if it's on social media, or what I like to do for like blog posts or something kind of fun. So you can say something like, if you buy from any of these links, I might be able to fund my crystal addiction or my book collection or something like that. You know, you can do something fun. And in the show notes, I will try to have either some suggestions or a link to a document with some suggestions of different ways that you can say that you are sharing affiliate links. So also you can make dedicated websites. There are some people who they make just full-fledged websites that are dedicated to a particular product. They do everything that you would do for a normal product website, as far as like SEO, making sure that the URL is nice, having good photos, having all the things, they'll make it around a particular product or set of products. Some of the bigger companies will have it to where you have access to photos you can use, maybe even wording you can use. And some of them even have it to where you can utilize their website to create these unique, well, websites. So that is something that you can do, but a lot of the ones that have all of those capabilities also come with a fee. So you have to kind of weigh the pros and cons and see how much you're doing this. Some of the companies allow you to do ads, some of them allow you to promote on Pinterest. And so if you're allowed to do that, you can really put content out there and be making tons of money that's relatively passive. I mean, all you have to do is post and share your links. And it's really exciting when you get these checks that you don't expect at all. Now, if you do want to get started in the affiliate marketing system, in the sharing of your affiliate links, I actually do affiliate marketing as well. Like I have that as part of something that I offer to people. So that's really exciting. Now, this is something that you can do to shift things and start making money. So, first of all, is I would look up companies that you really love, like products that you use all the time, services that you use all the time, or if you have a coach or you've had a coach in the past, write a list of all of those people and companies and things, and then see either by going to their website or contacting them individually, if they have an affiliate program that you can sign up for. Next, go ahead and get your stats. So get a list of your social media accounts and also get a list of how many followers you have on those accounts. If you have an email list, get a list of how many email subscribers you have. And if you have a website, see if there's a way that you can get how many like monthly users or monthly visitors you have. Most websites will show you that data somewhere in the analytics. And then also write a little blurb about who you are and why you would be a good fit to offer affiliate products. Now, you may have to tailor that a little bit. You can also use AI for this. And then also go out and actually put in those applications, reach out to those people, sign up to be an affiliate, and start promoting these products. It's such an easy way. So easy, especially if you do it subtly and you're only looking to make a little few little bucks here or there. It's almost brain dead. So I hope that this has helped.
