Hey guys, it's Carrie Ann, your host of the Hub and a founding member of Thrive Hub. Our mission at Thrive Hub is to empower new and inspiring entrepreneurs in our local community by connecting them with experienced business owners. Whether you need guidance on starting your venture, building your network, or tackling business challenges, we're here to help you get up and running. This podcast is intended solely for educational purposes. We do not guarantee that it will result in a successful business, nor is it designed to serve as a step-by-step guide. Please ensure compliance with all applicable city, county, state, and federal business regulations. Hey guys, welcome to the hub. This is Carrie Ann. And on today's episode, we are going to explore the value of starting something before it's perfect and encourage you to start something before it's perfect. I heard a quote on another podcast. And this came up, this scenario. She was scared to post something, and she told me that it wasn't perfect. But if we wait until everything is perfect, we're never gonna do it. And I told her that. If you wait till that moment when everything is perfect. When you're waiting until you have everything figured out, that can hold you back. Instead, I want to encourage you to embrace your imperfections and make progress. No matter how messy, this can often lead to growth for you as a business owner and as an individual, and it can also lead to that goal or that achievement that you are working for. I am struggling with this myself. I'm starting a nonprofit, and I keep hitting hurdles and I doubt myself, and I'm wondering if this is something I should even do. And I keep struggling, but I am I'm going. I'm doing the baby steps, and even though every baby step seems to have a hurdle in front of it for me to jump over, and my path to this nonprofit is zigzagged and not a straight line, I am still doing it. I'm moving forward every day with every little baby step that I take. Also, this podcast, for example, I knew I wanted to do one, but I know nothing about technology really, or broadcasting, or recording. And every episode I feel has something in it that I don't like. Maybe I slip up on a word or I don't quite know how to edit everything out. But if I waited till I got it perfect, you wouldn't have these episodes or this information that I'm giving you. So I want to encourage you to do the same. Another quote I heard on the same podcast, which I'm going to do an episode where I kind of list some things I listen to as an entrepreneur and business owner, or things that I read that really hit home with me and encourage me to do things. Um, but that's another episode. This other uh quote was from a French uh philosopher named Voltaire. Maybe you've heard of him. If you don't know who he is, or if you don't know what a French philosopher is, in layman's terms, it was it's that he's a really smart guy and he lived a really long time ago. But he said, don't let the perfect be the enemy of good. And this one, guys, it's so good. This speaks to the idea that striving for perfection can prevent us from even getting started at all. And I know that hangs a lot of people up. Sometimes the simplest step forward, the baby steps that I'm talking about, are the most important ones. If you just get started, even if you know it's gonna be messy, if you even if you know you're gonna make mistakes, like I'm doing with starting this nonprofit, I hit wall after wall or inconvenience after inconvenience, and it's it's causing me some stress, but this allows me to learn. I'm learning from this process. I'm adapting. If something doesn't go my way the first time, I'm looking for a way to walk around that hurdle. And over time, I'm gonna improve as a nonprofit leader, as a business owner from this experience. So if you've been hesitant to launch your own business or try a new skill or share your work because it's not perfect right now, remember that every expert and every business owner was once a beginner too. I've had my business for five years and I'm definitely still learning something every single day, whether it's creatively, financially, the act of just starting is what's gonna set you on that path for progress. Let go of the need to be perfect and give yourself permission to just begin imperfectly. I'm gonna plug the Thrive Hub here because this is why we created the Thrive Hub to help you start sorting through the mess of business. Join us at one of our local events or contact us through ThriveHub.biz. We are on all the social medias. Thanks for tuning in today, guys, and remember give yourself the grace to start, stumble, and grow. Who knows where your imperfect beginning will take you.
