Week 18: Tuesday, His Departure and His Return
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Shout for joy, we live and breathe between our Master’s departure and
His return! The parable of the ten virgins was about preparation for the
bridegroom, and this parable challenges us not to sit on our hands while
we wait for the Master. Jesus left this earth in Acts 1:9-11, and before
leaving, He gave His disciples authority, gifts, and a commission. They
also were entrusted with talents, and though His absence would be hard
to fathom, He gave them great comfort and responsibility (John 14).
Much like us, they wouldn’t survive without instruction, love, gifts,
comfort, and power.
It's week eighteen, Tuesday, his departure and his return. Today's scripture is Matthew chapter twenty-five, verses fourteen and nineteen, by Logan Cates, and I am Ricky Berger. For it is just like a man about to go on a journey, who called his own slaves and entrusted his possessions to them. Now after a long time the master of those slaves came and settled accounts with them Matthew chapter twenty five verses fourteen and nineteen. Shout for joy. We live and breathe between our master's departure and his return. The parable of the ten virgins was about preparation for the bridegroom, and this parable challenges us not to sit on our hands while we wait for the master. Jesus left this earth in Acts chapter one verses nine through eleven, and before leaving, he gave his disciples authority, gifts, and a commission. They were also entrusted with talents, and though his absence would be hard to fathom, he gave them great comfort and responsibility John chapter fourteen. Much like us, they would not strive without instruction, love, gifts, comfort, and power. Many of us understand the power behind last words. My dad always joked about us putting on his tombstone someday. I told you I was sick, but that will probably not happen. The last words of Jesus ought to be the words anchored in our hearts, living in constant anticipation of his return. The last words of our master before he went on a journey should resonate in our minds and our hearts constantly, as if we had eternity lenses on. Imagine how our lives would change. In these last times we are entrusted with the words Jesus spoke, Hebrews chapter one verses one and two. And they are spirit and life, John chapter six and verse sixty three. Trusting in his departure and his return navigates our daily walk, reminds us of the brevity of life, impresses on us the critical nature of what we do with what he said. After his departure he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, Hebrews chapter one and verse three, is now seated at the right hand of God, Colossians chapter three and verse one, and he will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven Acts chapter one and verse eleven. Today I will live with the anticipation of his return and be faithful with what he has given me.
