Glucksey reviews and auditions for the Paw Patrol book series.

A children’s brand can soothe bedtime—or shortchange it. We step behind the bookstore counter and into the world of Paw Patrol paperbacks to see what kids actually learn when rescue missions jump from screen to page. Between shelving returns and dodging chaos, we break down why these books fly off displays, how the storytelling rhythm models teamwork and planning, and where polished plots can inadvertently train kids to expect easy fixes.

We get honest about representation. Early entries tilted the team’s balance, and while later characters aimed to correct course, the tie-in books tell a mixed story depending on print cycles and licensing. We share practical ways to curate a healthier shelf: pick titles that rotate leaders, highlight community helpers beyond the core crew, and include moments of struggle before success so grit feels real. You’ll hear how clear sequencing, emotionally literate language, and role diversity can turn a quick read into a mini-lesson in agency and empathy.

And yes, we confess to a spectacular misstep: trying to launch a parody concept with a borrowed choir and a tone-deaf EMT theme. That flop becomes a teachable moment about how kids process danger, why humor needs care, and where creators cross lines without meaning to. By the end, we land on a simple approach parents and educators can use today—scan for story structure, leadership variety, and respectful stakes—so Paw Patrol books become tools, not just tie-ins. If this kind of thoughtful media talk helps your reading time, tap follow, share with a friend who’s drowning in paperbacks, and leave a quick review to tell us what to explore next.

Awkward Welcome And Setup

SPEAKER_00

It's time for Baby Baby and Evil Gluxies Book Boink Book Review Podcast. Book Reviews Incarnate. Hi everybody. Welcome back to the Baby Babies Book Boink podcast. I'm the Gluxi.

SPEAKER_01

And I'm the Baby Baby, but you know, I have to lay by duress, I'm here. Although I did decide to embrace my captivity and see I didn't mean to drive.

SPEAKER_00

Today's podcast is gonna be about the ever-popular book series Paw Patrol. Paw Patrol Based on the ever-popular TV show of the same name.

SPEAKER_01

I got a question, Gloxy. How did you decide that you're gonna be doing reviews of Paw Patrol?

SPEAKER_00

Well, I based it on the books we're finding lying all over the store.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, well, that's just bad parenting, I'm sorry.

SPEAKER_00

Well, maybe, but if you had your hands full of a baby and a kid and five of them at that, maybe, we'd leave a few books around too. And we're we're okay with that.

Bookstore Job And Banter

SPEAKER_01

Well, you may be, but I'm okay, fine. Whatever. I'm going to get along today. That's fine. By the way, for research purposes, we took a job at the bookstore. Oh, I think. So both Gloxy and I work here for really, really crappy money. A real life bookstore. It's a labor of love.

SPEAKER_00

Right here in the movie studio.

SPEAKER_01

So that's what Gloxy keeps telling me.

SPEAKER_00

It's lots of fun.

SPEAKER_01

Keep telling yourself that, Gloxy. Self-denial is a better part of valor. Something like anyway.

Paw Patrol Origins And Reception

SPEAKER_00

I don't know the question. Paw Patrol is a Canadian animated television series.

SPEAKER_01

How nice.

SPEAKER_00

It first premiered on Nickelodeon's Nick Jr. Okay, alongside TV Ontario in Canada on August 12th, 2013. That's a long time ago, Gloxy. Well, yeah, it's a little bit. It's been around for a while. The first books came shortly after that.

SPEAKER_01

Great, Gloxy.

SPEAKER_00

The show, along with the books, have received largely positive reviews from critics.

SPEAKER_01

Of course it is.

SPEAKER_00

It demonstrates the value of thoughtful problem solving. According to Media Review's Evelyn Ashby.

SPEAKER_01

Nice research, I guess.

Gender Critique And New Characters

SPEAKER_00

Randy Miller of DVD Talk said it's packed with harmless action and cornball jokes that kids couldn't help but make you laugh, Glaucus. However, there's some controversy too. Oh, criticism has been directed towards a show's unequal gender representation. Which they took care of later on in the second season. Oh, really? They introduced Everest, a Siberian husky.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

And a dog named Snow. Well, that's a rescue dog in season two.

SPEAKER_01

That's wonderful.

SPEAKER_00

That fixed the problem, they thought.

The Flatline EMT Idea

SPEAKER_01

I'm sure it did, Gloxy. I'm sure it did. Now, what's with the old people just standing here staring at us?

SPEAKER_00

Well, they're from a church choir down the street.

SPEAKER_01

What do we need a choir for?

SPEAKER_00

I'm planning on launching my very own paw patrol book.

SPEAKER_01

Why?

SPEAKER_00

It's called Flatline the EMT.

SPEAKER_01

Really, Gloxy?

SPEAKER_00

It's a heartwarming story about an emergency medical technician monster named Flatline. Floxy? Who is going through about a bad luck. Seems like everyone Flatline tries to help lately just ends up dying for some reason. Glotsy, are you serious? Flatline is just out of practice, I guess. I came up with my own theme song and everything for Flatline. So I needed to go get a choir, and so the only one that was close by and worked really cheap was the church choir down the street.

SPEAKER_01

Nice, Glotsy. But this is really dumb. It's like pushing the envelope. I'm not crazy about this job, but I don't really want to lose it through this. However, they weren't gonna cut us a budget to do it anyway, so nice research, I guess.

Choir Enters And Theme Song

SPEAKER_00

Okay, well, with no further delay, here's our brand new song to launch our new Paw Patrol book, Flatline the EMT. One, two. One, two, three, four. Flatline EMT, Flatline E M T. What do you want? It seems tough, folks. Flatline would touch. Running from death bit to clutch. Flatline the EMT.

SPEAKER_01

What do you think? It's horrible, Gloxy. I told you that already. It hasn't changed. We're probably gonna get sued. Thanks a lot. But the choir sounded really good. Thank you guys. Oh, looky, a collection plate, Gloxy. Would you mind taking care of that with our ice cream money?

SPEAKER_00

Here you go. Thanks a lot.

SPEAKER_01

I understand your heart being in the right place, and I really want to see you do well, but this isn't the way to do it. Just stay with the plan and just do the reviews.

unknown

Mm-hmm.

Closing Notes And Subscribe

SPEAKER_01

And some days some people realize your talent. That's what I'm hoping for me anyway. So that's the end of my in-depth look at your life. Don't expect it much, Glossy. That's not gonna happen a lot.

SPEAKER_00

Well, thanks, babe. That's actually pretty wonderful. Coming from you, that's amazing. Considering how uh a baby baby like you are.

SPEAKER_01

I'm not gonna take that personally. That's fine. But anyway, I've got work to go do. I gotta go judge some parents harshly but silently from the corner as I put away their books. Anyway, I love you. You guys, great. Goodbye. I'm gonna go work.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, I guess that's the end of our podcast today. Anyway, thanks for tuning in and like and subscribe wherever they do those things on these things. But have fun. See you next time. Bye.
