The Anointing And The Assignment

Jesus didn’t describe a self-help plan. He described a rescue mission, and it starts in places most of us try to hide. John Peake sits down with Pastor David Cisneros Sr. of Townwood Church to walk through Luke 4:18-19 (rooted in Isaiah 61) and the hard question behind it: are we just learning Jesus’ mission, or letting the Holy Spirit activate it in our real life?
We talk about what “the anointing” means in practice: identity before ministry, surrender before effort, and spiritual authority that comes from submission to the Holy Spirit as a Person, not just correct theology. Pastor David shares his own story of serving for decades while running on knowledge and ego, hitting burnout, frustration, and depression, and finally realizing that activity without intimacy cannot sustain a transformed life. If you’ve ever felt stuck in performance-based Christianity, this conversation puts language to it.
Then we get specific about the people Jesus names: the poor in spirit, the brokenhearted, captives, and the oppressed. We unpack inner healing, how trauma and rejection can shape the subconscious, and how strongholds like anxiety, addiction, rage, manipulation, and secret bondage don’t stay private. The episode also explores why grace, repentance, and a renewed heart matter more than trying to impress God, and why the fruit of the Spirit (love, joy, peace) is a real-world marker of what’s happening inside.
If you want a grounded, practical next step, we end with a simple challenge: daily conversation and surrender, offering God your will, motives, and inner life so you can live the mission, not just admire it. Welcome And Why This Matters
SPEAKER_06Welcome to the Living Inside Out Radio Show with John Peake.
SPEAKER_04Welcome back to Living Inside Out Radio. I'm your host, John Peake, and I've got a very special guest, my pastor, my covering, Pastor David Cisneros Sr., the senior pastor of Townwood Church. Thank you for coming, Pastor. I appreciate you being here.
SPEAKER_01Thank you. My pleasure, Brother John. It's a great honor to be here and participate with you in this program.
SPEAKER_04Well, we did talk about what our mission is in many ways along the way of our journey. I've been with Townwood about seven years now. And it was interesting how I even found y'all. Your sons actually looked me up after going to Israel and training with Special Forces and Firearm Training, and they looked up several different schools, and they they ended up being stuck with me. So we've been together seven years training, and so it's been a real transformation. And one of the reasons I decided to I need to take a closer look at Townwood as a church is because what I saw manifesting through your sons and excellent in their work ethic. They're consistently showing up time over time. What they said, and listen many, very importantly, what they didn't say, the things they wouldn't say, and I was like, these two young men are operating with a lot of power and excellence. Where does that source? Where's the and it was easy to see it was a spiritual source, because that's usually the root of where we give ourselves away, either good or bad. And so the root of that now, as I've came to know, Talwood comes from uh Isaiah 61, where Jesus was foretold some 600 years in advance, prophecy that he would come to heal the brokenhearted and the captives, set the captives free. And so the mission of Jesus, live it, don't just learn it. And it comes from Luke 4, 18 and 19, the blueprint for every
Luke 4 Mission Gets Defined
SPEAKER_04disciple. And so the title of this segment is The Anointing and the Assignment. So Jesus didn't just come to inspire us, he came with a mission. And in Luke 4, he clearly defines it. The question is, are we just studying his mission or are we living it? So when I look at Isaiah 4, 18 and 19, that is really Isaiah 61. Jesus is in his hometown of Nazareth. He's been invited up to the synagogue, to the front of the synagogue, and they give him the scroll of Isaiah. He opens it up, what we know is Isaiah 61, even though they don't have chapters, and he reads, and you can read this, it's in red and italicized in Luke 4, 18 and 19. And he says, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor, he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, and to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord. Now, right out of the gate, Jesus says, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because he has anointed me. Now this is really powerful, Pastor, because before there was action, there was anointing. Before there was ministry, there was identity. So the living inside out, I've taught this before. It says we need to do and have. In other words, be who God called me to be, do what he asked me to do, be obedient so I can have the promises. So a question for you, Pastor.
What The Anointing Really Means
SPEAKER_04Let's start here. What does it mean that Jesus was anointed?
SPEAKER_01It is amazing to see the testimony of Jesus. See, he submitted himself to the Holy Spirit. Now, the Holy Spirit as a person took charge and and and and in part authority over Jesus. And this is amazing because the Holy Spirit is a to exercise the manifestation of the supernatural and acting in the natural. So when Jesus approached the ones who were in that synagogue, see, he surprised everybody there. Because they used to leave to read the scriptures, they they used to get together, they used to talk each other, but see, they'll never find out about their needs in the inner self. So they Jesus mentioned these categories of need because for Jesus, under the authority, not only the knowledge, no, the authority of the impartation of the Holy Spirit, see, manifesting the mission that he came for because he presented himself not only as the savior but the transformer. So the inner selves has to do with the condition of your soul, your spirit, your mind, your intentions, and your subconscious. Things that you don't know about yourself. The only way that we can know those things is through the impartation and authority of the Holy Spirit. So the Holy Spirit is a person that manifestates his authority and power on those who are submitted to him, not only in the spirit, but also in the world.
SPEAKER_04Wow, so that's very powerful. And that leads me right into the question.
Calling That Transforms Identity
SPEAKER_04You almost started going there, and that is how should we, as believers and followers of Jesus today, understand our own calling in light of that?
SPEAKER_01Well, you have to spirit yourself. See, not only salvation with the Savior, see, transformation. See, when He comes, His intention is not only to come to your spirit, He wants to conquer your soul, your emotions, your will, your thoughts, and every area that has to do with your identity, with your self-esteem, and your sense of value.
SPEAKER_04Great. That really gets down to the root of it, doesn't it?
SPEAKER_01Yes, because if you don't experience a transformation in your identity and and you're you're you're not gonna have the strength, the spiritual strength, in order to understand why Jesus is not only the savior, he wants to be your master. He wants to exercise his authority in the inner self in order for you to be an instrument and and and share with others what he has bringed to you through inner healing and through the authority of the Holy Spirit.
SPEAKER_04So that's very strong. So this isn't just Jesus' mission, it becomes our mission.
SPEAKER_01Yes, because see, we we have to share what he gave bring to you through the Holy Spirit, and he's gonna make you sensitive to the need of others in areas that they don't know, they don't understand themselves.
SPEAKER_04So where do you see Christians today missing this? Trying to operate without the Spirit?
SPEAKER_01Whatever comes without the Spirit, even if it's uh based on uh good knowledge, but whenever you're trying to exercise the principles of uh and values of the Bible, then without the Holy Spirit, no choice. You're gonna have to do things based on your own knowledge, based on your own flesh, based on your own ability. But see, without the Holy Spirit, it's not gonna be successful. It's impossible. Because, see, Holy Spirit is the one that gives the impartation of the authority over the flesh, over the carnal mind, and over uh whatever is uh not healthy in your emotions.
SPEAKER_04Right, I see that. So, in one way, it's kind of performance-based Christianity, not driven by the Spirit. It leads to burnout. Uh, many pastors, and we know that they become burnout and because they're not being replenished by the Holy Spirit. And religion versus relationship essentially is what you're talking about.
Burnout From Knowledge Without Power
SPEAKER_01Well, let me uh tell you a little bit about my own personal spirits regarding what you just mentioned. See, I preached the gospel and I was pastor for 27 years, and I didn't know uh for 27 years I lived through a lot of stages of frustration. And when I was on my 27th year, I was about to say, forget it, ministry is not for me. I I don't know what to do anymore with this and that and that in the ministry. Actually, the problem wasn't the ministry, the problem was I didn't know what to do with myself anymore. I have so much things that I don't understand, and I hide too much situations, and I don't know how to handle myself anymore. So I came to my own-fledged conclusion. I said, No, maybe just this is I give my best 27 years, this is not for me anymore. God in his mercy bring people to my life to share with me their experiences with the person, the Holy Spirit. And I say to them, Hey, I know the Holy Spirit, I was wrong. I knew the manifestation, not the person, and I knew him about since the doctrine and point of view, not from the personal relationship. So it was a lot of struggle, but finally got in his mercy to bring me to my senses and awake me and confront me and show me my misery. Even I preached the word of God for 27 years, I was burnout, and I was about to quit all kinds of frustration, depression, angry, um, tribulation, and that was uh affecting negatively my marriage and my children too. So I said, I cannot keep on going that this way. I don't have one, I don't know what to do anymore in the ministry. So God introduced me to people that knew the Holy Spirit, and they introduced me to the Holy Spirit as a person, and it was a chuck. Now I'm supposed to be a shame on myself, but I gotta be honest with you, Brother John. I have no spiritual weapons, I have no spiritual authority. I have the doctrine, the correct doctrine, the correct theology, and the spirits for 27 years, but I don't have a spiritual authority until I surrender myself. And I said, Jesus, please, I didn't know how important this is. Uh I need to repent of my wrong thinking and my wrongdoings, and my how do you say the ego? See, I function based on my ego that I'm a I I have a title. I'm a pastor, I'm a preacher, I'm preaching this and then that. I was to do much activity, but no authority, no discernment, see, no revelation, only knowledge.
SPEAKER_04So those kind of uh transformal moments are oftentimes we uh we resist. Did you have some resistance? Because I could see myself being awakened like this and confronted, if you will, and like, wait a second, wait a second, this isn't true. No, no, no. I don't want to, you're not sure. Did you receive that openly or was it resistant at first?
SPEAKER_01I resistance, I criticize them, I mocked them, even so. I suppose to be ashamed on myself, but that's what happened. I didn't know how much uh power have uh what we know already is in the Bible, how do you say the courses? I I I I came from my background full of curses, and so I didn't know nothing about the legal rights of the uh curses from your past. Uh the curses, yes, right, yes, a lot of curses from my past, even so I have knowledge of the doctrine of salvation, uh, regeneration, justification, but the spiritual side of that doctrine are not active in my life. So I resisted, I fight it back, and I criticize, I mock them, but God's had mercy on me because still I was against the wall.
SPEAKER_04Wow. Well, at Defin Fit, we train in the spirit, mind, and body. I try to connect it all here. We pray before we train, we we uh create a culture of loving accountability, keeping things real. Are we solving problems or are we not solving problems? Are we living in a fantasy that we're solving problems in a training environment? And so I say that you don't rise to the occasion, you fall to the level of your training. If you're not filled, you won't stand when pressure hits. So that's really true spiritually. If you're not filled with the spirit, when you're confronted with burnout or all these corruption seeps in, open opening doors, we think of it.
SPEAKER_01The strongholds.
SPEAKER_04The strongholds, exactly.
SPEAKER_01That can become a competition. See, Holy Spirit can that it's not interest to compete with your strongholds. His main goal is to conquer you, not conquer your strongholds.
SPEAKER_04Ephesians 6, be strong in the Lord itself, not in yourself, not unto your understanding.
SPEAKER_011 Thessalonians 523 says, May the Lord of peace transform you in your spirit, in your mind, and in your body, in that order. See, a lot of us have the salvation in my spirit, but we can be full uh full of a lot of uh strongholds in our emotions, our minds that affect our identity and our performance in the daily life.
SPEAKER_04Amen. Amen. Wow. So don't just ask, what should I do? Ask, am I walking in the spirit or in my own strength?
SPEAKER_01For so many of us it's difficult to see the difference, uh, walking in the spirit or walking on my own strength. Because, see, is we we know we can find out the evidence of deceiveness. Do you know, brother Dan, that we can deceive ourselves?
SPEAKER_04Absolutely.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we can live with uh appearances and we can impress others with the way we do things. That doesn't mean we are uh being impressed by God in ourselves.
SPEAKER_04Absolutely. And it's it's it's very dangerous. That's a very good subject here. So we built a lot of momentum into this, and I want to get into the meat

SPEAKER_05Hello, my name's Greg Brainerd, owner of BrainTech, and here's another BrainTech Tech Tip, one of the simplest and most powerful ways to protect your company. Turn on multi-factor authentication for Microsoft 365. Here's why it matters. Most cyber attacks start with stolen or guest passwords. Employees often reuse passwords. Attackers send convincing phishing emails, and before you know it, someone's inside your email, your files, or the entire network. But multi-factor authentication stops that. Even if someone gets your password, they still need this second layer of approval from your phone. It's easy to set up. Log into Microsoft 365 admin portal, click on Active Users, Multifactor Authentication, turn it on for your whole team, and then walk them through the preferred method of setup. It just takes a few minutes and the protection is tremendous. If you'd like Braintech to help you with your Microsoft 365 accounts, give us a call at 281-367-8253 or visit our website at Braintech.com. Braintech making IT easy for your business.

Who Jesus Came For
SPEAKER_04Welcome back to Living Inside Out Radio. I'm your host, John Peake, and I've got my special guest, Meiber, Pastor David Cincinnati Sr. from Townwood Church. And so thank you again for being here, Pastor. We've got our next section, and this is where Jesus gets very specific. He tells us who he came for. So we're breaking down. He came for the poor, the brokenhearted, the captives, spiritually oppressed. So this isn't random. It's a battlefield report. These are categories of people under spiritual attack. So, Pastor, when Jesus says the poor, is he talking about financial poverty only or something deeper?
SPEAKER_01No, we can even be rich financially and still be poor in the spirit. See, be put in discernment and be put in uh be guided by the Holy Spirit. So he was talking about spiritual uh from the from the spiritual perspective.
SPEAKER_04Right, I totally get that. I've seen that over and over. Even in my own life, I've dealt with that. Thank you, Jesus, for opening my eyes to that a little bit at a time, and I'm still a work in progress. So someone could be f wealthy and still be poor in the spirit. So what about the brokenhearted?
SPEAKER_01The brokenhearted has a root. See, all those areas that you never resolved, even uh negative and traumatic experience from the childhood. See, rejection, abandonment. Um if you come from a home when there was uh domestic violence, see, that's gonna that impact your subconscious, that impact your your mind, and that's gonna affect you uh as you grow up and you never resolve those issues. See, that can uh put you in the category category of broken heartness, unfortunately.
SPEAKER_04I see that often. In fact, many people that come to train in martial arts, fitness, and farm are trying to look for restoration. They're trying to look for restoration in how they feel about themselves, so their identity, but they don't think of it that way. They just like, oh, I want to get into shape, I want to learn to protect myself. But what I see, especially now after you're teaching on helping me understand healing the broken heart and set the captives free, what we call inner healing, and that is to be washed clean, but we have other work to do and go back in our memory that we had forgotten these things oftentimes that happen to us, but they're being manifested in so many ways. So we see of that today with all kinds of anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, arrogancy, pride, narcissism. What does Jesus actually heal? How does Jesus actually heal the brokenhearted?
SPEAKER_01Well, number one, Jesus is not gonna do things halfway. See, Jesus, as our creator, he knows exactly how to pinpoint the areas in which there's a lot of blockages and that doesn't allow us to know more about ourselves. So one of the sensitive areas that we hardly spoke in the churches is.
Inner Healing And The Subconscious
SPEAKER_01Is the subconscious. Now the subconscious is like uh how do you say brother John the the the the the the brain of the computer see the subconscious can be full of so many memories and so many um background that are toxic are not healthy and always the the the subconscious can be full of um uh toxic emotions and unfortunately we can reflect that in our behaviors and that can interfere with my soul, with my mind, my thoughts, and my inner self. So he when Jesus comes to heal and we allow him to heal us, he's gonna come straight to the roots. See, he's not dealing with the symptoms, he's dealing with the roots, and sometimes my motivation can be corrupted because see if I receive, for example, abuse in my childhood, emotional abuse, physical abuse, verbal abuse, or sexual abuse, see, that's gonna hide where in my subconscious. So my subconscious are gonna register the effect of those abuses, and uh always are gonna be in disadvantage.
SPEAKER_04See, it weakens our foundation, our identity, and we stay so connected to that, not even realizing it. Wow. Talk about corruption. And from an early age, the people that were really entrusted to protect us sometimes are the first ones that hurt us. Yeah, I've experienced that, and I think many of us have. In fact, I would bet most of us have experienced it at some level, whether it's parents or teachers or brothers, siblings, aunts, uncles. It's so prevalent in our society today, and this is where living inside out hits hard. People try to fix internal wounds with the external solutions, which is dangerous.
SPEAKER_01See, because you can blind it yourself and and you can incapacitate yourself to see to see the difference between the the right and the wrong, between the the the false and the truth. And you end up submitted to your own feelings, you're not taking control of your feelings, feelings are taking control of you because you develop the the strongholds in your life, and you're living a line thinking, oh, I'm okay. Why? Because I feel it this way. See, if you want real results according to what Jesus came for his mission, see, you need we we need to understand that we are very limited without the authority of the Holy Spirit. See, can we cannot conquer ourselves? We need to develop a strong relationship with the Holy Spirit in order to know the truth of what Jesus has done at the cross and what Jesus still can do in our lives.
SPEAKER_04Amen. That's rich. That's rich. You know, Proverbs 34, 18 actually talks about that very thing where it says, The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart and saves such as have a contrite spirit. If we look at the next aspect that I think hits hard, let's talk about captives and the oppressed.
Captivity Strongholds And Spiritual Bondage
SPEAKER_04So, what kind of captivity is Jesus referring to?
SPEAKER_01Whatever uh develops uh strongholds in your mind, in your soul. Uh, for example, we see a lot of people dealing with depression, and they uh develop uh behavior escaping, see, anxiety, uh fear, see, um rage, anger, see, and they uh surrender when they say that's the way I am because God made me this way.
SPEAKER_04It's dangerous. And even behaviors tie into that too, whether it's manipulative, lying, stealing, cheating, pornography, under escapes, escapes, fantasies, fantasies, uh, fornication, adultery, um, toxic relationships. And this is spiritual bondage. This is a captivity.
SPEAKER_01There's manifestations of bondages inside on the soul, the mind, the spirit of the person that they can control of their wills.
SPEAKER_04So often people think I'm not hurting anybody by doing some of these behaviors. It's just between me and my mind. So I'm not hurting anybody.
SPEAKER_01Well, uh, if you live with a wife or husband, you have children, sooner or later, even you don't know it, see, those children, that has that wife, that husband, are gonna suffer, see, the results of manipulation, control, imposition. The Bible teaches about the spirit of Jezebel. Now, Jezebel was the wife of Akab, a king of Israel, and the whole nation, not only her house and her family, her marriage, the whole nation was uh became under curse because of one woman exercising uh control, manipulation that we know as witchcraft.
SPEAKER_04So we are affecting our generations by operating with spiritual bondage.
SPEAKER_01Even if we die and we pass away, whatever we uh how do you say seed with our behaviors are gonna stay alive and have the potential to destroy the ones come behind me.
SPEAKER_04The people that we say we love and we've invested so much time, energy building up, we're undermining ourselves by manifesting this behavior.
SPEAKER_01See, but this behavior is not what you call uh the normal behavior, it's the manifestations of the control of the spirits that find the legal uh acquire the legal rights to control you in order for them to fulfill Satan's uh uh agenda.
SPEAKER_04Wow, this is a big deal. When we think about uh from a Defend Fitz perspective in personal protection, we always say that in our world we train people to recognize threats. So it's an awareness, number one. And so even if you're not the greatest warrior, your awareness level coming up. Now you start to stay clear of these threats before they even get a stronghold. But here's the reality: the greatest threats aren't always external, they're internal and spiritual. And they go wherever we go, those threats go with us because they're already in our mind.
SPEAKER_01Well, amazing. You can develop a lot of abilities on the outside, and then you can be convinced yourself, oh, I'm doing this to defend myself. Nobody's gonna abuse me anymore, nobody's gonna hurt me anymore. But see, that's external. The internal still struggling. See, the internal is still suffering the effects of whatever abuse or negligence or uh any other impact, negative impact that you receive from somebody else. So it's not enough to develop something in the external if the internal is still suffering.
SPEAKER_04Wow. So in John 10, 10 it says this very thing the thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy, and that's captivity. Yes, take us into bondage. So Jesus didn't come to perfect people, he came for people under attack. So he's our protector, our guardian, our healer, our comforter, our counselor, um manifested in
Grace Over Performance And Repentance
SPEAKER_04the flesh. So why are we stretching why are we both the people that regularly attend church still under so much struggle?
SPEAKER_01It's a good question, Brother John, and I can understand them because I is struggling for 27 years, uh trying to impress God without knowing that I was losing my time because we're not created to impress God. We are created to be accepted by the love of God. See, and whenever you have uh bondages or you have empty areas in your life, you can be deceived thinking that doing this or that for God, then He's gonna be happy with me, He's gonna be good with me, He's gonna bless me. No, that's nothing I can do to either impress us or make us happy or uh receive His blessings. That's by grace, by love, by mercy, and by His uh uh how do you say fidness? By faithfulness. And so His goodness is good enough. But if I don't have the right conviction, I can end it empty because there's nothing, nothing I can do. So why are they struggling? Because they have areas in the life inside that they haven't yet healed, or they haven't yet have the right definition according to the Word of God.
SPEAKER_04Wow. So what you're really saying is it's salvation by works, which every other religion besides Christianity is a salvation by works. What you're doing, how good can you be to be accepted by this God? While Christianity, it's not salvation by works, it's by grace alone, faith alone, by grace alone, which is distinction. And this is why I believe that Jesus, the name of Jesus, upsets so many people because it's the one true, right? Every knee shall bow, every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.
SPEAKER_01See, remember uh David in Psalms 51. After all the long confessions that he made unto God, he don't blame nobody. He presents himself, himself, he had a lot made a lot of mistakes with a lot of people and have a lot of problems with a lot of people. See, he almost been killed by by the spirits through the through the king's soul. But see, he after all long confessions, he says something that's still important today. Lord, please give me the right heart that is the spirit.
SPEAKER_04Wow, that's powerful. I often look at David as like if David has hope, and we can see David as the warrior that also not only was he serving the great king uh and have a great faith, but he also made all these mistakes. He was a murderer, a liar, an adulterer, a cheater. But God called him a man after God's own heart. And the differentiation is what you just said. He recognized his infallibility, his condition, and and repented.
SPEAKER_01See, so many people said, Well, how about Samson? How about Saul? Why they don't there's no signs of they were restored. See, because they live the consequences of their failures, they never repent.
SPEAKER_04That's right. See, so that's key for us. David repent. To come clean with God and admit.
SPEAKER_01Yes, he still lived with the consequences of uh his behavior, but between him and God, see, things were clarified, and God continued with him, but he humbled himself.
SPEAKER_04Awesome. That is such a key thing. Well, listen, we'll be

You've got time to grab coffee, check your phone, maybe read the news, all while your laptop slowly crawls to life, loading program after program that you didn't even ask for. Sound familiar? Here's the fix clean up your startup items. Take control back by pressing Ctrl Shift Escape on your keyboard to open the task manager, click on the startup tab, and then you'll see everything that launches when your computer starts up. Hello, my name is Greg Brainerd, owner of BrainTech. And now another Brain Tech Tech tip. You get an urgent email from Microsoft saying your account will be suspended, or a message from the bank asking you to verify a transaction. Or maybe it's your CEO asking you to buy gift cards immediately. Stop. Don't click that link. Phishing emails are designed to trick you into acting fast without thinking. They look legit. They often contain real logos and professional language and urgent deadlines. But one wrong click, you can hand over your password, install malware, or give criminals access to your entire network. Here's how to protect yourself. Just offer your mouse over the link. Look at that web address. Does it actually match the real company? If not, it's probably not legit. Second, watch for pressure tactics. Legitimate companies don't often threaten to close your account within 24 hours. And third, when in doubt, ask your IT professional. Remember, criminals only need you to slip up once, and it takes five seconds to verify before you click that link. Church Mission Relationship Not Religion
SPEAKER_04Welcome back to Living Inside Out Radio. I'm your host, John Peake, and I've got my very special guest, Pastor David Cisneros Sr. from Townwood Church. And we've been covering uh the way that Jesus communicated his mission. He came to heal the brokenhearted and set the captives free, and we've been breaking down those pieces of that. So now the big question if these if this was Jesus' mission, what is our mission? Luke 4 isn't just information, it's activation. So, Pastor, how does the church today practically live this mission?
SPEAKER_01It's a challenge. See, because this mission has nothing to do with religion, it's a relationship. See, and when you have a true relationship with the Savior and with the person that he left on earth to uh how to say manage his kingdom, then you need to live the life of a kingdom of God, not the life of a member of a church. See, you take responsibility for the impartation of the fruit of the Holy Spirit. See, you might have the power active in your life, but does not guarantee that you have active the fruit of the Holy Spirit. Because the Holy Spirit, the fruit of the Holy Spirit has to do, first of all, with what's going on in your daily life between you and God. So the church today needs to be awakened, and the only one can be awakened at the church is the Holy Spirit, because He's the one in charge, or He's supposed to be in charge. So the ones we preach, we need to develop the kind of dependency of Jesus through the person of the Holy Spirit.
SPEAKER_04So during the break, we talked uh about the fruit. And so I know that well. In fact, my first martial art ministry, uh, we had that as our our logo on the front of the shirt. I actually had Galatians 5.23. Yes. And I had the fruit, the nine fruits love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, generals, and self-control. Because I wanted the students, especially when I had these young, impressionable children, that I'm building up as warriors. I want them to have their fruit of the spirit so they didn't use this to hurt each other, right? So when you mentioned the fruit of the spirit, you mentioned the three first, love, joy, and peace, uh being the most
Fruit Of The Spirit In Real Life
SPEAKER_04important. Talk a little bit about that. That was very powerful.
SPEAKER_01See, love, joy, and peace uh is the manifestation of what is happening privately between you and God and your spirit. So whenever you have the Holy Spirit as a priority in your life, then that means He's gonna strengthen your spirit and other other areas of your life with the Fatherhood of Jesus. So you he's gonna teach you how to glorify and how to please him, not based on your abilities or your gifts or your knowledge, but based on his performance in your spirit. Joy, love, and peace.
SPEAKER_04Love, joy, and peace. I remember the scripture says but love is the most powerful. Yes, right. So love for God.
SPEAKER_01And without love, see, we can just be person that appears that we are something.
SPEAKER_04Right.
SPEAKER_01But it's only noise, it's only appearance.
SPEAKER_04You know, there's an old country saying that my father would say that an empty wagon makes a lot of noise. Yes, it doesn't have anything in it to keep it from rattling all over the place. So I see that often with people, and heaven forbid that I would be that way where I'm talking a bunch of things that don't really have much substance, right? And so that's the empty wagon. So without love for God, we can't love others, we can't even love ourselves. Our identity is lost without the love of God.
SPEAKER_01Well, remember, when God uh when we see in the Bible, the the topic of God, see, it's not related to an emotion, it's commitment and conviction. Yes, those cannot be uh put up aside. See, my commitment with God is based on His grace. See, so love has a consequence, positive consequence. Love brings you acceptance, see, love brings you closeness, and love can help you to have an intimacy, see, that has nothing to do with your emotions, but affect your conviction and affect your your your values of who you are.
SPEAKER_04It's very powerful because you can. See it even when, like, say, I have a dog, Jet, and Jet he loves me, you can tell, because of the way I treat him. Because I have expectations and accountability, but I also have forgiveness for him. And I remember very distinctly the Lord says, How does the Lord know if we love him? Because we obey his commandments.
SPEAKER_01Yes. And you're gonna give him your his priority. He's gonna be your priority. That doesn't mean you're perfect, but you're resting and related to the one is perfect.
unknownAmen.
SPEAKER_04Yes. Love God with all your heart, soul, and mind. The first crack commandment. Yes. Can it be that so simple?
SPEAKER_01Well, it's difficult when you don't have the right heart. When you're struggling with yourself, when you're still having a lack of acceptance, and and you are hurting. When you're hurt, see, you're not gonna have the ability to really understand uh God's approach to us through the Holy Spirit and through His commandments.
SPEAKER_04So this isn't passive Christianity, this is in active engagement.
Honesty Integrity And Living In Truth
SPEAKER_04What would it look like for the average believer listening right now to step into this type of mission this week? What would he have to do?
SPEAKER_01Honesty and integrity. And it's a very difficult after you have a long, many years in the church, you've been exposed to so many knowledge, so many discipleship, and so many activities. Still taking control of me. Something isn't right. I need a a to renew my heart and my spirit. And so many people come to the altar every Sunday to receive an impartation, but inside they are not, they don't have definition, they don't have commitment. See, they just want to release their pain. They want to feel better with themselves, but they don't want to be committed to the God that transformed and not only justify our our lives, but transform us from inside out.
SPEAKER_04So there's still some blockage. Uh maybe it's a lack of uh truthfulness. Living in the truth is something I talk about a lot on the mat, even living in the truth can mean I have to understand where I'm at right now in the context, right? So oftentimes we live above the truth. We think more of ourselves than we should. Or just the opposite. We don't think of ourselves enough, and we like maybe even a false humility or weak. We feel weak, maybe because we have been broken so many times. So living in the truth is a very difficult thing. So this is where the seven M's of Living and Satellite come in: ministry, serve people, mentoring, guide others, marriage, heal relationships, muscle, discipline the body, money, steward resources, media, spread truth, and martial arts, protect what matters. It all connected to the mission of Jesus. Now, I was given the Holy Spirit prayers, what I just call it, the Holy Spirit prayer. And I was given that by your son David, and I'm sure he got it from you. And you were teaching and do teach every time, even in the beginning of church, after we open with prayer. A lot of times we follow this format of prayer, worship, and teaching, and and it's a three-hour service minimum. And we're there long enough for the prayer, the worship, and to prepare our hearts to surrender to God. And so that's the essence of the Holy Spirit prayer is this internal spiritual surrender. And it came to me that just like what you're saying, in order for us to be able to not have blockage, to come to the altar with a pure heart, is we have to give up our will.
The Holy Spirit Prayer And Surrender
SPEAKER_04And that pesky free will is always getting me in trouble. I almost wish I didn't have a free will, but that's proof that God knows we love Him if we're willing to surrender our free will. So that talk about that Holy Spirit prayer and how you have us list, and you have a very extensive list. Lord, I give you my will, my time, treasure, talent, my imagination. Expand on that a little bit because it's such a powerful teaching. It was totally transformational in my life.
SPEAKER_01See, the will is a very private area in each person. See, but the world are connected to the emotions, to my thoughts, and to my intentions. If I don't have a clear, a clear my will in God's principles, I can end it doing things under the wrong motivation. See, Jesus teaches us when he prayed to the Father, see, I wanna live, but see, I don't want to do my will. Your will must be first. I submit my will, and it was an intense prayer, it's not only uh emotional, but it was a spiritual prayer because so many times what I want to do in my will are against God's will. So the will is a very private area in which God wants to know exactly. See, I don't want to know how much I have blessed you, I want to know how is your will and your willingness to live my life. See, your will and your willingness is gonna make a definition, be aware, see, be not only be aware, but be how do you say submitted and be available. Okay, Lord, I like in that, but I wanna do your will, and if there's something in my will that is not related to your will, then I need the Holy Spirit to prepare me to understand and submit without asking questions.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, tons
Daily Intimacy And Final Challenge
SPEAKER_04already. So, what's your final challenge to the listener who knows the scripture but hasn't been living it?
SPEAKER_01Well, the only way you're gonna be able to live according to the scripture is to have a right relationship with the one that inspired the scriptures. See, the scripture is the manifest is the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. And if you don't have the right relation with Him, then you will never develop revelation. See, the revelation is the manifestation of the presence of the Holy Spirit as a person, not the knowledge, but the relation. So revelation is a must. I can have a lot of knowledge, and that doesn't mean I have revelation, because revelation comes only from the Spirit, not the source.
SPEAKER_04Good, good.
SPEAKER_01So pray for revelation and then surrender. Oh, develop a intimacy and a relationship with the Holy Spirit as a person that will take away your blindness in your life.
SPEAKER_04So we do that through prayer, yes, through worship, through going to church, conversation, conversations with others, especially about spiritual matters. Yes. So it becomes really a part of every area of our life.
SPEAKER_01This is not for the time that you have your devotional. No, during the day, wherever you go, talk to him. Holy Spirit, I spoke to Jesus and to you this morning, but I want to tell you this. I wanna please take uh uh authority in my inner self. He's interesting specifically in knowing what areas my subconscious, my mind, my spirit, my soul, my will, my desires, my motivation. Welcome your correction. See, I'm not gonna be mad. You want me to correct me or discipline my in your exercise your authority and discipline on myself. I don't want to be blinded, I want to have an open eyes, and you're the one can open my eyes.
SPEAKER_04That's keeping it real. That's Kramaga, spiritual Kramaga, right there.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, because see, you do different things, right? You're driving, you go to work, and nobody has to know who do you're speaking with.
SPEAKER_04Right. You're doing it in your private life.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you're keeping in the daily basis a conversation, intimacy.
SPEAKER_04That's awesome. Thank you, Pastor, for sharing
Sent To Heal And Closing Charge
SPEAKER_04that. So Jesus didn't just come for the broken, he sends the healed. You're not just saved from something, you are sent to something. So living inside out, be who God called you to be, do what he called you to do, and watch what he produces through your life. So ask yourself today who around me is broken, bound, blind, oppressed, and what would it look like for me to bring the mission of Jesus to them? But let me say this first. It starts with you. Look in the mirror and be honest with yourself. Am I actually having conversations, as Pastor said, intimate conversations throughout the day with the Holy Spirit? Am I reading the Word? Because the Word says that it's sharper than a two-edged sword. The word is alive in power and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the soul and spirit, and bone and marrow, and is a revealer of the intents of the heart. So if you're in the word, the word will speak to you, and that'll give you great content to come in prayer in your private life as you go out throughout the day for the Lord to speak to you. Thank you, Pastor.
SPEAKER_01Amen. Amen. God bless you, Brother John. God bless you. God bless your iris, and we declare miracles upon the ones who's gonna hear this problem.
SPEAKER_04Amen. Amen. As it may it be as you said. Amen. Thanks for joining us here at Living Inside Out Radio and my guest, Pastor David Cisneros.
