Good Morning Quincy WA Daily Brief – Monday, January 26 2026
Speaker: [00:00:00] Good morning, Quincy. Today is Monday, January 26th, 2026. This is your local Daily Up for George Quincy, Winchester, and Crescent Bar. If it matters to our community, we're talking about it. In the next few minutes, we'll cover today's weather, what's happening around town, school, sports and activities, schools, city council, police, fire, church community, and local business news.
Whether you're heading to work, getting kids out the door, or just easing into your day, we're here to help you stay connected to what's happening in our community. Grab your coffee, get ready for your day, and let's start with local forecast. It's a cool one this morning. Quincy currently around 19 degrees outside cloudy this morning.
Then gradually becoming mostly sunny later today with a high near 32. With some calm wins. Give yourself that extra couple [00:01:00] of minutes today in case of frost so you aren't rushed. This morning my car took over 10 minutes yesterday morning to defrost. It was frozen solid and no one likes feeling late, especially on Monday.
So. Remember to give yourself just a few minutes extra cushion this morning. Y'all ready for this?
In our Jack Sports Recap, Friday Night's Battle of the Basin, our Jack C Base basketball team, lost to Fred at 65 40 with our Lady Jack C basketball team winning 2019. Our other basketball teams fared much better. Or sorry, losing 2019. Sorry about that. Our other basketball teams fared much better. However, with our Jack Sophomore basketball team winning against Fredda 35 to 34, our junior varsity team won 47 40.
Our Lady Jacks won 36 15. Our varsity team also won to get Frida with 72 39. Our Lady Jacks varsity [00:02:00] teams won 59 point 32. Go Jacks.
If you're looking for a reason to celebrate today, they made up lots of fake holidays for you today. Today is National Spouse Day, so be a little nicer to your spouse. It's National Peanut Butter Brittle Peanut. Brittle Day Peanut Butter Brittle, huh? That's a good idea. This is also National Farmhouse Breakfast Week, which I can definitely get behind.
Especially as restaurants. Address that one. Love me. A big farmhouse breakfast. And hey, congratulations to all the Seahawks fans and the Hawks for the winning Against the Rams yesterday, 31 27. Best of luck in the Super Bowl against the Patriots on the eighth. On February 8th.
The Quincy Senior Center hosts several weekly events that are all are welcome to attend. On Mondays, they have coffee hour at 10:00 AM. With wheels powered by your toddler to ride inside the activity center to burn off some of that cold weather energy.
