Good Morning Quincy WA Daily Brief – Thursday, March 12 2026

Speaker: [00:00:00] Good morning, Quincy. Today is Thursday, March 12th, 2026. This is your daily local update for Quincy George Winchester, Crescent Bar, Sutland states, and all of the 9 8 8 4 8. If it matters to our community, we're talking about it. In the next few minutes, we'll cover today's weather, what's happening around town, school, sports and activities, school, city council, police, fire, church community, and local business news.

Whether you're heading to work. Getting the kids ready to go out the door or just easing into your day. We are here to help you stay connected to what's happening in our community. Grab your coffee, get ready for the day. And let's start with today's weather forecast warmer this morning. Currently around 45 here at the station Breezy.

My wind chimes have been going all night long. A slight chance of [00:01:00] rain before 8:00 AM. Then a continued chance of rain and possibly snow between eight and 11, and then a chance of rain after 11. Yeah, the weather's a little nuts this morning. I can't believe they're talking about snow at 45 degrees.

Chance of per precipitation this morning is 50%, partly sunny skies today with high around 50 windy with a west wind of 22 to 25 miles an hour. With Gus's highest 44 miles an hour, so be careful if you're out on the road today, especially in a larger vehicle like a truck or a bus. It's gonna be a windy one.

Little or no snow accumulation expected tonight cloudy with a chance of rain or snow lows in the lower to mid thirties. Windy with winds 15 to 25 miles an hour west and gust up to 40. Shifting to Southwest at five to 10 miles an hour with winds gusts lowering to 20 as the night continues on.[00:02:00]

Your Jack Sports crap will be at very soon. The Jacks are back at it tonight, so hopefully we'll have some updates for you tomorrow morning if you're looking for a reason to celebrate. Hey, today is National Popcorn Day. And that's a spectacular reason to celebrate, mainly 'cause I'm just a movie nerd and I love popcorn and I think most people do.

Not everybody, but most people do. Whether you like your popcorn, just straight out of the microwave, out of the air popper, or however you like your popcorn, or maybe popcorn balls made those for Halloween for my kids youth group. That was a really big hit. However you like your popcorn. Enjoy some popcorn today.

Sit down, enjoy a movie. Have an amazing day with that, and it's also National Planet Flower Day with Spring, definitely on his way here in the valley. Uh, maybe plants some flowers today. Enjoy the fact that spring on his way and add a little more beauty to the world. Today around [00:03:00] Quincy, the Quincy Senior Center has an exercise class today at 1:00 PM.

They have pinochle at 3:00 PM which I found out I mispronounced last week, so sorry about that. Also, they play Mexican train at 6:30 PM after dinner. A special treat today at the senior center. Just stop by, win a maybe.

Jim, so grab your friends, go play some volleyball and have a good evening tomorrow night in community safety announcement. When was the last time you checked your smoke detectors in your home? This is an often overlooked, overlooked thing in our homes that can make your home much safer, as well as checking your carbon monoxide detectors in your home.

And do look at those carbon monoxide detectors are rated at different [00:09:00] levels. With most of them actually being at a very high level, that's already dangerous. So make sure that your carbon monoxide level detector picks up and goes off. You want it down around 30 or 40, not 70 like a lot of 'em are manufactured for, but check those detectors in your home.

Make sure they have the proper power or batteries and that your home is safer. That way. Before we jump into the upcoming Quincy Jacks life. We're gonna cover city admin news and announcements, and then we'll jump over to Jack Sports and events that are coming up.
