Good Morning Quincy WA Daily Brief – Friday, March 13 2026
Speaker: [00:00:00] Good morning, Quincy. Today is Friday, March 13th, 2026. That's right. It's Friday the 13th. So happy Jason Day if you're a horror fan. This is your daily local update for Quincy George Winchester Crescent Bar Sunland Estates, and all of the 9 8 8 4 8. If it matters to our community, we're talking about it.
In the next few minutes, we'll cover today's weather, what's happening around town, school, sports, and activities schools. City council please fire church community and local business news. Whether you're heading to work, getting kids out the door, or just easing into your day, we're here to help you stay connected to what's happening in our community.[00:01:00]
That was the beautiful sound of our amazing Quincy High School choir, but I'll tell you more about that a little bit later. Grab your coffee, get ready for your day. And let's start with today's weather forecast. Currently 35 and snowing here at the studio, uh, with little accumulation. I was not expecting that when I went to bed last night, but there is definitely about a quarter inch and the snow is coming down in big flakes, really steady outside.
My whole backyard is white. Who knew? Spring always has a little something, something for us, a little surprise. It's gonna be a sloppy morning outside on the road, so give [00:02:00] yourself a little extra time this morning. I know I was pretty much putting away the rock salt, uh, for my walkway, but please be careful going out to your cars this morning.
Make sure and give yourself some time to clean off your windshields and slow down a little bit on the roads. Currently, there's no change to school status, but it is four 30 in the morning and they don't always have it posted until five 30. I'm not expecting, based on the forecast that they're going to cancel school, but heads up, be aware.
It is an outside possibility, but we don't know until we know exactly what the roads look at, like outside of town on the country, roads where they don't get taken care of as well. Rain and snow before 2:00 PM Then a chance of rain high near 48 west wind, three to eight miles an hour, little to no snow accumulation is expected today 'cause temperature's gonna come up pretty standard for the weekend.
Uh, some sun on [00:03:00] Saturday and then some clouds on Sunday, but both fairly decent days. Highs around 46 degrees. It's gonna be a pretty average spring weekend out here
Speaker 2: ready for this.
Speaker: As promised, your Jack Sports recap is back and way to go. Jack's JB soccer team. They won in a complete shoutout eight to zero against Leavenworth Cascade High School. Yesterday,
the Quincy Jacks varsity soccer team had a close one with a zero to one loss, but great job, gentlemen, and I don't have scores for our tennis team. Um, I think that's gonna go a whole lot like wrestling. With that being a very individual. Sport. I know there's a overall team score supposedly, but I think, uh, [00:04:00] trying to share scores on that is gonna be a whole lot like individual wrestling meets.
But congratulations to Quincy and welcome to Spring Sports. Go Jacks.
If you're looking for a reason to celebrate today is Friday 13th. You could do without what you, well, some people have a little fun with the day. Some people think it's great like my daughter. These are the people behind the people. These are the people who go unappreciated.
