Currently 39 here at the studio. A slight chance of rain between 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM. Mostly cloudy today with a high near 58, little bit warmer than [00:01:00] this weekend light and variable winds becoming southwest of five to eight miles per hour in the afternoon. Those wind gusts that we had all weekend are slowing down a little bit for now.

in your Jack Sports recap? Our Quincy lady Jack softball game was canceled on Saturday. Our Quincy Jack soccer teams and baseball teams suffered some tough losses this weekend. It's the beginning of the season. You'll get 'em next time. Jax huge congratulations to our Quincy fifth grade A a u girls basketball team.
Over 350 total teams fourth through eighth grade. Were all at the A A U State [00:02:00] Basketball Tournament in Spokane this week, last weekend. And Quincy's fifth grade a a u girls basketball team took third in state in their division. Team members are Janessa Flores, Mila Nuno, Grace Keller, Maisie Diaz, Eva Buckley, Sophie Reyes, Addison Beer Locker, Emma Flores, Brooke Brown, Mila Serrano.

And who doesn't love a cute pan video and it's also National Act Happy Day, which is a great time to watch Pana videos because let's face it, pandas are just so darn cute and make everybody happy celebrating act Happy Day. If you're interested in becoming a citizen of the United States, the Quincy Public Library is excited to announce they're hosting United States Citizenship Study Group.
This weekly class citizenship class will help you prepare for the newest version of the naturalization test. Get up to date information, review eligibility requirements, and study US history and civics, which can be a little bit confusing, so it's always good to have some help with or anybody. All materials and resources are provided in the classes in English only.
The class meets starting at 4:30 [00:04:00] PM on March 9th. For complete schedule, visit our local library and if you didn't make this round, you can still reach out to them and see if spots are still available. I haven't confirmed that that is closed off yet, so reach out to the library, talk to those wonderful people over there and see if there's still room in that class.
If that's something you're interested in. The Quincy Rec Department would like to announce the Red Cross Woman Nose First Aid class starting today from six to 9:00 PM to 16 hour class. That will help you assess and provide initial treatment for ill or injured people in remote environments where definitive care is not readily available.
This is a two year Red Cross certification, but it has a prerequisite of having your CPR and first aid card already. Cost is a hundred dollars per person, which covers books and material and there are only 10 spots available. I dunno what the current status of that is, but it starts today. If you're looking for a fun family activity on Saturday, March 21st. The George Community Hall would like to welcome you to a concert by the band Corral Creek. I said that wrong the first time. I'm so sorry. But Corral Creek will be performing at the George Community Hall. A mission is $5 for adults, kids 12 and younger at 10.
Free doors open at 4:30 PM and the concert starts at 5:00 PM. Refreshments will be served during the intermission and there will be a hat passed around [00:07:00] to think, bam. So come on down to the George Community Hall and enjoy some great music this coming weekend. The Grant County Health District is coming to the Quincy Public Library on Monday, March 23rd.
That's next week from two 30 to 3:30 PM to offer free max long training in our community. This one hour session will be presented both English and Spanish, making it possible for everybody who wants to learn how to recognize and respond to an opioid overdose. This is an empowering opportunity to learn a skill that can save lives, bring a friend, spread the word, and help strengthen our community.
Let's show up for each other and build a safer, more informed Quincy. Together. Quincy Valley Tourism is happy to announce the 17th annual Trout Fishing Derby on March 27th and 28th. With prices given for youth and adult divisions, registrations available online. This annual event is put on by Quincy Hardware and Lumber and the Quincy Chamber of Commerce.
It's time to [00:08:00] break out those fishing poles. Go have some fun and get involved. This annual event is coming the 27th and the 28th. Don't miss the opportunity. It's gonna be a lot of fun. The Quincy Rec Department is excited to announce the first ever battle at the net adult four versus four coed volleyball tournament.
Put your team of five together, register and get ready for a fun day of games. There's only 12 team positions available in the deadline to register. Is March 28th with the tournament happening Saturday the 11th? This is a save of the date announcement for the Caman roar and poor 5K prole fun run and wine tasting event on April 25th at the KB State Winery.
This annual event's a lot of fun. You do not have to be a se serious runner, a serious 5K person, a serious trail run person. In fact, this event is a whole lot more fun if you aren't real serious. Come dressed up as a caveman or not. Like I said, not a serious event, but it is a whole lot of fun to [00:09:00] deal with a group of friends register before March 16th.

Before we jump into upcoming Quincy Jacks life, we're gonna cover city admin news announcements, and then we'll jump into upcoming Quincy Jack sports and events in City News tomorrow, there's a Quincy City Council meeting.
Meetings are open to the public [00:10:00] and are held on the first and third Tuesdays every month at 6:00 PM at the City Hall Council Chambers located at 1 0 4 B Street, Southwest in Quincy. Come get involved, meet the people like our mayor, our fire chief, our police chief. Everybody else who makes up our city council, who make decisions here in our town, be involved in the decisions going on in our city and be informed.
It's a great opportunity. It's usually only about an hour, but it is an incredible chance for you to plug in and take some charge. What's happening in our town?[00:11:00]
In school news, join us tonight at 7:00 PM at the Quincy High School Pack. For the Q-H-S-Q-M-S Festival Choir concert, this is a chance to hear and celebrate all of our student musicians, including our state bound regional winners as they prepare for upcoming large group festival. This event is free to the public and will be live streamed on the QSD YouTube page.
Tonight is also Developmental Preschool Family Night at Ancient Lakes Elementary at 4:30 PM and it's still fundraising season. The Quincy Band is still having their UN fundraiser 2026, where you're invited to make any sizable donation to support our great band department. Come listen to 'em tonight, you'll find out why it's worth supporting[00:12:00]

At 1:00 PM at the Sunnyside Golf Course tomorrow, our Quincy Lady Jacks softball team will play at home at 4:00 PM against Loveworth Cascade High School. Quincy Jack's soccer team is playing in East Wenatchee at 7:00 PM against Eastmont High School and the Quincy Jacks varsity baseball team plays at home at four 30 against Warden High School.
